Is it just me or was Al Michaels sleepwalking his way through an epic comeback? I can understand being bored during some crappy Thursday night game, but this is the playoffs! He's not Pat Summerall, where's the energy?

For a decent amount of time the Rams weren't really in LA though, they played their home games in Anaheim from 1980-1994 - they're as much of an LA team as the Angels and Ducks. Adjacent, but not really an LA team. Back in ye olden days when both were in Southern California the Raiders were considered the real LA team.

One minor thing I'm curious about is how Cassie came up with that device to access the Quantum Realm without Janet knowing. It doesn't seem like Hank or Hope would have helped her without mentioning it, so does Kang find a way to send her the info? Should she be forming a young geniuses club with Shuri and Peter? Or is it just an old piece of equipment that was just lying around?

If they want a neutral site then send them to London.

I get Iris being irritated with Barry looking up info about their future, but hopefully it’s not the pregnancy news that sets her off. She should know approximately how old Nora and Bart are, so the timing is pretty set.

The Mannings, Brady, and Watt have all done it. I'd rank them Peyton>JJ>Eli>Brady. I'd rank Peyton's United way sketch and JJ's Madden 21 one as the best among all 4.

If KD comes back healthy and if Kyrie keeps behaving and if Ben Simmons doesn't suffer a crisis then the Nets are a real threat. That's a lot of ifs, though.

Lose by 1 and you can say (with a straight face, anyway) that you're just as good as the team that beat you but hey, a little bad luck cost you. Lose by 60 and it's an embarrassment because you'll always be brought up as an example when they talk about blowouts and inferior opponents.

That's true for all sports, even if you take into account inflation. Magic Johnson signed a 25 year, 25 million dollar contract back in 1981 that was the richest contract ever. Even taking into account inflation that's less than 100 million these days. There's only one thing that would work - find some third party financial advisor with impeccable integrity and tell the rookies that this person is going to handle the vast majority of your finances for a few years. But then there would be endless bitching and moaning about robbing players of their agency, etc.

Cheap? We're not cheap! Boston might be overcompensating after seeing Bogaerts walk and trading Mookie Betts a few years ago.
-
Looks like Stephen Amell will also be appearing in the ninth episode So a flashback? Seems like it would take quite the extraordinary event for him to show up in the present day as the Spectre. Maybe go visit your kids and Felicity if you are able to interact with others?

Tackle football is inherently a violent sport no matter how many rules and tweaks you put in - what happened to Hamlin is tragic, but also a fluke. If we're going to be concerned about the safety of the game, what about all of the players who have suffered permanent brain damage without ever being carted off the field? Want to get rid of the hits? Make it a flag football league.

Wally, Diggle, and Bloodwork are showing up Let's hope they give Diggle more to do than give a pep talk to a black character and/or disappoint everyone with his GL tease that went nowhere.

Given that social media is an infinite pool of crap, I assume there were (and still are) a whole lot of people expressing self righteous outrage at anyone and everyone (the NFL, Goodell, various members of the media, other fans, etc.) who didn't say or do "the right thing".
-
Apparently I need to watch more football because I have never, ever heard a touchdown referred to as a tuddy.
-
Nothing? How about Tom Brady and the Bucs making a deep run? Or perhaps Aaron Rodgers and the Packers if they can slide in?
-
So is this a fluke or a sneak peak of what awaits in the playoffs? And I hope we get a Cowboys/Bucs playoff game. The hatred will be unmatched.

Well, it's absolutely guaranteed that it won't when it's sitting at the bottom of the ocean. In any case, Rose is a horrible person takes are as hilarious as any other where fans work themselves into a snit over their opinion that heroes are being jackasses/villains (see Superman mind wiping Lois, Indy looting artifacts, Steve peacing out at the end of Endgame, etc.). Speaking of which,

I wonder if the PA would be so quick to tell the crowd to stay in their seats if this wasn't in Detroit. I also wonder what type of suspension Killian Hayes has coming - there's a reason why rabbit punches are banned even in combat sports, and it sure looks like Wagner lost consciousness after the hit.
-
If he gets good enough then he can get into the Jordan/Kobe zone. Those two were utter assholes at times, but nowadays are lauded as great leaders by players.
-
Absolutely, which is why fans of those small market (or just cheaper) teams whine and complain whenever a team like the Yanks swoops in and buys that expensive FA. However, the luxury tax threshold is actually pretty high - it was 230 million in 2022. Needless to say, many teams were quite content to stay well under that number.

Why should this week be any better than the past 10 years?

His rep will go down if he isn't able to get his clients the best contract possible. If he can do that then who cares if the owners have his face on their dartboards. If this does fall apart I could see Boras going for a shorter deal but with a higher AAV to save face.
