  1. For baseball's sake it had better. We can all wax nostalgic about a lazy day at the ballpark or on our couch watching a game, but there's a reason why baseball continues to drop in popularity. The regular season is always going to feel like a grind for daily (or near daily) sports, and these days there are so many alternatives. Heck, I guarantee most of the crowd is on their phone for most of the game anyway.
  2. That depends on how good his agent is. Keaton might not be in much of it, but he's also a big name star whose presence is a major selling point - he may have been able to negotiate a percentage of the box office. No, he probably doesn't have the juice to pull a Brando in Superman deal, but he's not a pointless cameo either.
  3. So far it looks relatively straightforward but there's got to be more to it than that. Having the big villain be a Superman character is an odd choice - imagine a Batman movie where Brainiac is the big bad. Viewers of the TV show and comic readers can come up with logical guesses about what else might be going on.
  4. To quote Agent K: "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals."
  5. Which illustrates why people whining about a playoff hero in general not being MVP is so dumb. It's a regular season award, not who can summon the magic for a few games. In the modern era, which I'm arbitrarily going to define as post 1980, here are the leaders: Peyton Manning - 5 Aaron Rodgers - 4 Tom Brady - 3 Brett Favre - 3 I'd argue that aside from Brady the rest have under performed in the playoffs relative to their reputations. Does anyone who isn't incredibly biased think Rodgers is more valuable than Brady was because he has more MVPs? Of course not!
  6. He's right about gas breaking down, but that process takes months. After 20 years it wouldn't matter how often he stopped to siphon, that stuff would be useless. If you really want to travel across the country you'll have to do it the way they did back in the 19th century before the railroad was set up.
  7. Yeah, it's pretty clear none of these people have friends outside of the other main cast and visitors from other shows. Based on what we've seen on screen, Felicity is Iris's best friend. Speaking of Felicity, Joe should move to Star City. Isn't it supposed to be a crime free paradise thanks to Oliver's last act?
  8. Sue's also the landlord of the CC building, right? As Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark would tell you, having easy access to massive amounts of wealth makes certain things a lot easier. Same with Star labs and their apparently infinite amount of cash to keep the lights on and buy all of the fancy tech.
  9. It is, but so is playing all of the games and leading your team to the Super Bowl. Or should all MVP candidates miss a couple of games to show how much they're missed?

Well, I think it's fair to say a seven footer shouldn't be running up the court with the ball on a regular basis. He just had to settle for spending a lot of time with Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson. 44(!) second round picks were moved around. Part of me thinks they're included just to make the list of assets traded longer. Sure, you can get lucky, but most of the time second round picks are destined for riding the bench at best.

Kind of depends on what matters most to him. Legacy? Then he needs to move on, but he's also partially responsible for the dumpster fire that is the Lakers roster, too. Fair or not, ending with 4 rings will be a pretty significant disadvantage when it comes to talk about being the greatest. Playing with his son? Kind of depends on how much leverage he has with the Lakers versus some other team. He's a decent enough prospect, but also limited, and if his name was Joe Smith then he'd be just another guy. The perks of living in LA as a super wealthy celebrity? Yeah, that's hard to replicate outside of maybe NYC.
  12. After nine years the CC public is so blase they don't even bother to stop and gawk at a nuclear bomb going off, or the Flash doing his thing? That's probably a good thing, since it'd be a bit awkward to explain why the Flash and Iris West-Allen looked so comfortable hugging each other. Her husband would be jealous! Given that her company is apparently capable of running itself while she's MIA for extended periods of time, I can understand Iris wanting to avoid being gobbled up by Cat. Imagine what she could do if she actually worked full time for extended periods instead of getting caught up in the latest crisis.

Changing the narrative (or just flat out ignoring stuff) happens all the time. Remember when Kobe was a selfish ball hog and horrible teammate? A far cry from the great leader and role model he's considered to be now. Or how MJ was a psychotic prick, but it's all OK because he won and he had the good fortune of not playing during the social media era? Plus all haters should be thanking Lebron for the stupidity of the not 1, not 2 thing. It'll be there forever as something to mock.

Reports are that the Suns new owner is hiring Isiah Thomas for a prominent front office position. He must not have talked to any Knicks fans.
  15. If they're driving through Kansas City to get to Wyoming from Boston then they're taking the scenic route. Maybe they encountered similar problems earlier, which would explain why Joel was impatient enough to try driving through the city.

Makes you wonder if (when?) KD is going to demand a trade. He's entering his mid-30s, has an injury history, and is looking up at Boston, Milwaukee, and Philly. Does he really want to spend his time toiling away on teams with no hopes of getting a title?
  17. I wish this was the internet making stuff up Of course, TB filmed the video at least a day before he posted it, so there's a decent chance he never touched those grains of sand.

Being Brooklyn's GM must be so much fun
  19. It might not end up throwing spores, but one shows up in the trailer. They might treat it like a big Clicker.
  20. It's too bad they remain forever unable to generate any interest in the Pro Bowl. The NFL might be more popular in general, but I think fans look forward to the MLB, NBA, and NHL All-Star games a lot more.
  21. No reason why they can't invite him to the pregame show. At the very least it'll fill some time rather than rehashing some minutia about the Eagles and Chiefs for the tenth time. Also, if he unretires again it will give him something in common with Michael Jordan. Sure, some athletes change their minds once, but only the truly special do it twice!

Yes, because obviously when you want to drive interest in your sport the best result is to not televise one of your all-time greats breaking a record that likely will not be broken again for a long time, if ever.
  23. Payton's contract extension with the Saints ran through the 2024 season. If they waited until next year they probably could have negotiated a cheaper price.
  24. Tyler Huntley, Pro Bowl QB Apparently it's so bad in the AFC that if you're not injured or playing in the Super Bowl then enjoy the trip to Las Vegas. Those 2 TD passes (and 3 INTs) must have sealed the deal.
