  1. It's inevitable with anything - eventually it gets to the point where fans lose interest (at best) or become actively hateful (at worst). Given how much content they've pumped out it's impressive how long they managed to keep their streak going, though. Star Wars fans rebelled after the Last Jedi, DC fans were never happy, Star Trek has limped along, etc. I also think the pandemic accelerated things, at least for the movies - a lot of people realized that they're OK waiting for it to come out on Disney+. We (well, most of us) aren't using a VHS tape and watching on a small CRT TV - home systems are pretty good these days and more than adequate for many.
  2. If you're going to be influenced by the show then you should be buying up cans of Chef Boyardee ravioli - the older the better. That's five star dining.

If more regular season games ended 176-175 it might drive up interest.
  4. If they really plan to lean into the multiverse then he probably should be the one to anchor it. That being said, if they really wanted to go outside the box they'd have Loki do it. No, he doesn't have interesting facial hair, but... -Has massive daddy issues. -Was always jealous of another guy his father seemed to adore. Bonus points for it being his actual brother instead of a frozen dude. -Murdered mom. -Spent most of his life as a spoiled, privileged jackass. -Will happily snark and quip his way through a movie. -Guaranteed to clash with the more idealistic members of the team.
  5. Forget the mind meld, every Starfleet vessel should just have a full Betazoid on board. Yes, some species can't be read, but the telepathic scan has always come across as less invasive - even the rudest, most powerful one we've seen (Tam Elbrun) didn't cause any discomfort.
  6. Possibly, but on the other hand Jean-Luc goofed with Deep Space 4 slip in the last episode, so he's not exactly at his peak self. Of course, he was simultaneously clever enough to use those transporter inhibitors while also forgetting about their existence a few minutes later when the Titan was trying to beam them out.
  7. You can add Steven Yuen to that list There's still plenty of time for this to change, but for now does he win the prize for most successful post-TWD career?
  8. Braga? Oh, how times have changed if the man who was lambasted for killing the TNG era of Trek shows 20 years ago deserves an apology from the people who are supposed to be killing Trek now. There's always a slim hope that it's not as straightforward as Beverly getting pregnant with Jean-Luc's kid the old fashioned way and then running off without a word. Picard has had his DNA hijacked before (Shinzon).
  9. That might be viewed as a violation of a person's privacy. Shaw might be kind of an ass, but he's still a Starfleet captain who was trained with those ideals. Scanning for injuries and illnesses is one thing, but an impromptu maternity test is probably crossing a line.
  10. If Allegra really wants to avoid Chester couldn't she just, you know, go do her actual job? She's not a scientist, there's no reason for her to be hanging around Star Labs if there's no active threat. Being the number 2 should be very time consuming when the boss takes the Bruce Wayne approach and is never around.
  11. Hmm, apparently accents are genetic. Or did Jack spend his formative years listening to Picard's old logs and other British people? In a surprise to no one, Worf is the guy working with Raffi. Unlike Riker and Picard he still seems pretty spry.
  12. I'd expect a heavy dose of Michael Keaton. Even if his actual screentime makes him more of a glorified cameo, his presence is a major selling point and most fans are looking forward to seeing him. There will probably be a fair number of interviews with Sasha Calle and Michael Shannon too.
  13. The commune is in Jackson, Wyoming. Eastern Colorado University doesn't exist, but since they went down I-25 the closest real world equivalent is Colorado State University (which has a ram as its mascot).
  14. In reality they'd have to stay a while - after walking from KC to Wyoming with minimal supplies they'd be skin and bones and in no condition to handle the dangers that are supposed to lie on the path to the Fireflies. But because it's a TV show, one night of sleep and a good meal has completely replenished their health bars and stamina, so they're good to go. It's the same reason why Joel's injury, which would likely be fatal in the real world, is far more likely to be a moderate inconvenience.

Apparently most people don't care about the All-Star game Of course we already knew that, but if they were looking for more proof......
  16. Plus it's not just a straight couple that indulges in sexy times during the second game, even though they don't show it explicitly. I'm sure HBO will be happy to do so, though. Fair is fair!
  17. I suppose getting stabbed by a broken baseball bat is more survivable than falling onto an exposed piece of rebar. In reality both are fatal wounds, especially since Ellie has no medical training, but the rebar would have been pushing it too far. I wonder if that girl who was watching Ellie eat was supposed to be Dina.

You get to (in theory) see the best players on the same team showing off their skills? No, it's not really answering the question of what player X with player Y would be like since they don't play defense and everyone can set aside their ego for one meaningless exhibition, but it's something.
  19. Couldn't he force a trade? The Packers would almost certainly get a first round pick from a mediocre team, so that beats telling Rodgers to enjoy his retirement. I think Tom Brady has skewed expectations for what a 40 year old QB can do.
  20. She’s a slacker? After all, it only took Pine’s Kirk one mission to get promoted from cadet to captain.
  21. You can watch it here. Among other fun things Voyager, the Enterprise-A, and Excelsior are all in a museum.
  22. The catch-22 of sports. The goal is to win the championship as frequently as possible - every team's fans wants this. Then when it happens all of the other teams' fans start bitching about how it's not fair, ruins the game, etc. while knowing full well they'd love to be in that position.
  23. I sincerely hope they're not doing the WoK thing of giving Picard an adult son he never met. At least Kirk knew about David and agreed to stay away, even though he probably regretted that decision. A captain "catching up on logs" must be the polite Starfleet way of saying screw you. However, while he's an ass, he wasn't wrong to be suspicious. A retired admiral and the Titan's old CO just show up out of the blue for a surprise inspection? Yeah, I'd be expecting something too.
  24. Why would Thawne wear a suit with a bat symbol on it? Plus the distorted voice (especially the laugh) sounds a lot like a woman's. Candice Patton is a good actress, but she could not look more disinterested whenever she was talking about Frost and Caitlin. And doesn't Iris have a job she should be getting back to after her hiatus? At least Barry's boss knows he's the Flash, but what do all her employees think about their editor in chief who is never around?
  25. This movie is going to have quite the set of people complaining about it. The racists (Supergirl's supposed to be a blonde Caucasian!), the sexists (how dare they replace Clark with Kara!) and the morally outraged about Ezra Miller group.
