Well, a seed vault in Scandanavia wouldn't be very useful for anyone on the other side of the Atlantic after a global apocalypse. Conveniently enough, there's an American one at Colorado State University, which Joel and Ellie would have ridden by on their way to Eastern Colorado University (which, I believe, is supposed to be in Boulder in-universe but is modeled on CSU).

S03.E04: Part Four - No Win Scenario

They can use plastic surgery to make a human look like a Klingon, a Bajoran look like a Cardassian (and vice versa), and more. A good hair transplant is trivial in the 24th century. People must be less self conscious about their looks in general because of how easy it is to alter things with no apparent side effects. -
If you're a glass half full type of person, at least he'll be well rested for the playoffs But quite a few big names have missed or will miss major time this season. KD, Lebron, Zion, AD, Steph, Kawhi.

S03.E04: Part Four - No Win Scenario

Yes, by being absent from the battle. By that logic every ship that wasn't at Wolf 359 survived. Which makes you wonder, what does the captain do most of the time when there isn't a disaster or battle? The department heads should be able to run things efficiently, and a lot of time is spent traveling from one assignment to another. Did Jean-Luc just read Shakespeare and drink tea in his ready room for hours? -
It also means CC villains take weekends off? Very nice of them - you know those jerks in Gotham are seven days a week type of people.

It's also amazing how much the scale of Starfleet has changed since then. In the TNG era 40 ships seemed like such a huge number that we'd never get to see it on screen. Fast forward to the middle of DS9 and you've got thousands of ships fighting with casualty numbers that make Wolf 359 seem like a drop in the bucket. -

.The unhappiest person on the Titan must be the second officer. Never involved in important conversations and keeps seeing inactive officers given command. Or has Starfleet followed the Kelvin protocol of captain, XO, and pulling straws for the chain of command on a starship? -
A husband tells his wife that he's moving away with their daughter and that she can come visit on weekends. Isn't this usually what happens after a bitter divorce? That being said, why does distance mean anything to Team Flash? Barry's so fast now he can basically teleport anyone anywhere they want. Regardless, turning Cecile into Professor X remains one of the stupidest things the show has ever done. Plus isn't her reading people a massive invasion of privacy? People are entitled to their own thoughts. Maybe I zoned out, but I also don't remember any explanation of Ryan's whereabouts. Didn't she vanish without a trace a few weeks ago?

It's now very clear that the finale will cover the end of the game, which leaves me with the question of whether or not they will (or even should) follow all of the beats of TLOU2. For those who think HBO is afraid of pissing off "fragile snowflakes", how can you incorporate Lev? How can they get away with what Abby does without having the fanbase make the GOT pushback look like bemused grumbling?

I know it will never happen because athletes and other people will complain about being robbed of their agency, their freedom, etc. However, what a lot of these guys would benefit from is a 3rd party financial adviser who will put the majority of their paycheck in the a low risk option AND some chaperones/bodyguards who will keep them from doing something stupid. That applies to any young person who's suddenly making millions.

Plus he might be some heathen who prefers coffee to tea! -
Hey, who knew that brandishing a gun in an instagram video is a bad idea? Apparently not Ja Morant, who is going to get a few days to think about it since he'll be "away from the team" for at least its next two games.

S03.E03: Part Three - Seventeen Seconds

That alpha vs gamma thing came up in one episode and was never discussed again. The Dominion lost because they couldn't get reinforcements through the wormhole and the Federation managed to trick the Romulans into joining forces with them (thanks Garak!). Speaking of the wormhole, I wonder if the Prophets (especially Sisko) would vaporize any Dominion battleships that tried to use it. -

Then they'd be completely ripping off WoK instead of "being influenced" by it. Should Seven make sure there are easy access radiation suits next to the warp core? You never know when you might have to rearrange the dilithium crystals (or whatever it was that Spock did) and you really should go in there with more than a pair of gloves. It's ironic because it's the most "modern" of the TNG era Treks - serialized stories, our heroes engaging in morally grey behavior, Section 31, etc. And at the time a lot of TNG fans hated the show because of how it was violating the spirit of Trek by doing those things. -

Sure, if pressed to show off that processing power a changeling imitating Lore wouldn't be able to do it, just like a changeling imitating Riker wouldn't necessarily be able to play trombone, and one imitating Troi couldn't replicate her empathic abilities. They can still imitate Lore's physical look and voice, then try to bluff their way through everything else. -

Why can’t they mimic him? They don’t need a DNA sample to look like a person, and we’ve seen them imitate inorganic objects before. All they need is a picture and some time to study his mannerisms. -

That's how it was (supposedly) but then Odo killed another Changeling and there was a big argument about what to do with him - ultimately they made a decision, but it wasn't the usual harmony. Then you know they would have been pissed at S31 and the Federation for cooking up the Changeling virus. -

Picard and Riker disagreeing about tactics is fine, especially since Picard is rustier. I could even buy Riker wanting Picard off the bridge since he's a lousy XO. But Riker's little hissy fit at the end of the episode felt manufactured, especially the you just killed us all part. YOU are the captain - if you follow a suggestion you disagree with then that's on you, not the guy who suggested it in the first place. Although who knows, maybe he's a changeling, or Tom Riker, or something else. -
Smart enough to instantly figure it out, not smart enough to keep her distance when the entire point of having a gun is not needing to stand close to someone. There was no lightning effect when Ryan disarmed her, so it might not have been a super speed thing either.
-
Here's an educated guess about what's up with his foot. Or, you know, he's a bum who just doesn't want to play anymore this season, so he's faking it.
-
There's that pesky contract, plus Lebron probably likes being in LA. Maybe he also has a handshake deal for LA to draft his kid in a couple of years too.
-
If by fine you mean out for at least two weeks and likely longer, then you called it. If the Lakers crash and burn in that time there's really no reason for him to come back this season.
-
That's the problem with a lot of "fight the power" movements. What happens when you win, it magically becomes better? Because it's a lot easier to tell the people in charge that they're wrong then it is to actually be in charge yourself. Riley's a lot smarter than I am if she was able to figure out the MKII special moves and fatalities without a guide.
-
Yeah, so is Brandon Miller trying to prove he's oblivious, a moron, or an asshole? None of which means he's guilty of a crime, but still.

S48.E13: Woody Harrelson / Jack White
cambridgeguy replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
That's not a new problem. SNL has had some accurate impressions (JAJ's Trump, Jay Pharoah's Obama, Hammond's Trump) that often have trouble getting the laughs that some more exaggerated portrayals (Ferrell's W Bush, Carvey's Bush) could reliably get. Of course, they've also had some really lousy impressions (Armisen's Obama) that also failed to get the laughs.
