I think it looks awesome. I'm pumped! Also, I noticed that they are wearing black/silver costumes in most parts, but then Mystique seems to have a blue suit (over her blue body...) and Jean has a greenish looking one! I'm wondering if there are two big battles?

Party of One: Unpopular TV Opinions
Craphole Island replied to mstaken's topic in Everything Else TV
All of Party of Five is on Hulu now and I have been watching it. I don't even know if this is unpopular but I LOVE it. I was only like 4-10 when it originally aired but my older sister loved it and I loved Neve Campbell from Scream and Jennifer Love Hewitt from I Know What You Did Last Summer (clearly I had a genre), so I just knew I would love it no matter what. Not to mention I'm obsessed with LOST and love Mean Girls so Matthew Fox and Lacey Chabert were just added bonuses. Anyways, it's so 90s and melodramatic but I don't even care I love it. I also agree that JLH is underrated and great at comedy. She's in the movie Heartbreakers with Sigourney Weaver and dammit do I love that movie. And she's great in it. I also think Neve Campbell is awesome and underrated and I wish she was a much bigger star than she is, even though she consciously avoided becoming that. Happy to see her back in the limelight with House of Cards and still looking fantastic. And since I mentioned the rest of the cast but not him, I should say I think Scott Wolf was great on Party of Five as well. -
Party of One: Unpopular TV Opinions
Craphole Island replied to mstaken's topic in Everything Else TV
This is super random and honestly I don't know if it's unpopular, but oh well: In general, I think most of the "hot wife/scrub husband" sitcoms are mostly meh/stupid, but dammit I kind of loved Still Standing. Sure, it was formulaic and predictable, but whatever it made me laugh. I loved when it was on reruns. And quite frankly, I think Jami Gertz is awesome and totally underrated. Would love to see her in more stuff. -
OMG Just Married. I used to love that movie. This is actually hilarious/sad but I saw Just Married 3 times in theaters. HEAR ME OUT!! I was in like 7th grade and it was one of those situations where I was seeing it with all different people (friends, then cousins, then other friends) so I just kept being like "sure, I've got nothing else to do", plus I had my parents' money heh. This also happened with the movie Stuck On You (the Matt Damon/Greg Kinnear movie about conjoined twins.) Don't ask me how or why but all I know is I was young enough that I never actually had to pay for any of them with my own money. It's just so odd that those are two of the only movies I've seen more than once in theaters (let alone twice!!) because they aren't even favorites or anything. The only other movies I've seen more than once in theaters are superhero fare like X-Men and Batman. Anyways, sorry for the rant but yes I know Just Married (clearly).

Was just talking about Meg Ryan in another thread and I decided to watch When Harry Met Sally. I loved it! I had seen it before of course but not in a long time. Meg and Billy had such a great rapport, I'm actually surprised they never worked together again (to my knowledge). Although I guessed it'd be constantly compared to When Harry Met Sally..

A few random ones and I should preface it by saying they are all basically teen shows, but I never saw them during their original run. I just happened to decide to watch them later for whatever reason, and retroactively am upset they didn't last more than one season: Jack and Bobby: This show was great! It had a fantastic cast including a young Logan Lerman and Bradley Cooper, and I thought it was a pretty realistic portrayal of teenagers and their families. It's a shame it got cancelled. Life As Know It: This one wasn't all that great, but again it was mostly realistic and they seemed like normal teenagers. I was a big fan of Missy Peregrym and Sean Faris. I DESPISE Kelly Osbourne who is in this, but somehow I enjoyed her in it. Hellcats: Now I confess: I unabashedly love Ashley Tisdale and think she's incredibly underrated as an actress (I've posted my thoughts on the board elsewhere in the past) but I thought this was a cute little show. It got dragged down by going a little too hard on the soap cliches and it could be pretty cheesy, but there were some solid cast members. Aside from Tisdale, the girl who played the really bitchy cheerleader (actress is Heather Hemmens I believe) was great and should quite frankly be bigger as well. And two I always have to mention: American Dreams and Happy Endings!

I really wish Meg Ryan didn't do what she did to her face. Between that and the affair with Russell Crowe, it seems Hollywood/America really turned on her. But she was SO cute and I thought she did both comedy and drama really well. Would love to see her with a Sandra Bullock-like career these days. Shame. Courteney Cox is another one who really did too much to her face. I still think she can look quite good but it's so clear she had work done that it's distracting. Her mouth is so different now and even her voice seems different because of it. She was so beautiful and I bet she would have aged well if she had let herself.

I've been following the news of the new Richard Linklater movie Everybody Wants Some because he describes it as a spiritual sequel to Dazed and Confused which I love and it stars Blake Jenner who I enjoyed in Glee, and I just recently watched the trailer for it. I thought the girl in it was super cute so I looked her up and turns out it's Zoey Deutsch who happens to be Lea Thompson's daughter! Looks like she has a few films in the pipeline so hopefully she's good! She was appealing in the trailer (which is admittedly a brief part). I'm personally not too familiar with Lea Thompson outside of Back to the Future (I was born in 89 so I think her prime was a little before my time??)

I really hope to see Michelle Pfeiffer make a similar comeback to Jennifer Jason Leigh. I think she's certainly a bigger name than JJL but I still don't think she gets talked about enough. She's fantastic in everything I've seen her in and although I just saw it for the first time this past year, I think she should have won the Oscar for Fabulous Baker Boys.

I might be in the minority, but fuck Abram. Generally I like Abram despite his craziness but his brand of crazy is not entertaining to me anymore. I thought he was gonna drop dead from his insane screaming during the pit. I'm not even a Cara Maria fan and yes she messed up but I felt bad for her. And I actually kind of like Thomas and Stephen (they're the most tolerable of those rookie guys IMO). But mostly fuck Vince. That dude is such a douchebag and I'm sorry but he has done poorly in several challenges despite this weird chip he has on his shoulder.

S01.E12: Dorkus / S01.E13: The Final Girls
Craphole Island replied to Cranberry's topic in Scream Queens [V]
I actually enjoyed this ending a lot. All of the actors were on top of their game I think. But not enough Chad Radwell! The goodbye scene between him and Denise was perfect though. Emma Roberts was hilarious after Grace and Zayday interrupted her from killing Dorkus by telling her Hester is the killer. Her face of "oops" and line "I am SO sorry" were perfect. Even Grace made me laugh this episode! When she asked if Wes got her a car, and he said no, she did this like "Oh, no." that got me. -
Okay I have literally seen every season of the Challenge and RW so it's sad to say that I don't know who more than half of these people are (since I do not, nor will I ever, watch AYTO). Still, I love this show. I HATE Tony. I didn't like him on his season, but Bruno was so much worse that Tony didn't completely register as being the biggest asshole. Turns out, he's as terrible as I thought. But dude, what a fucking idiot! Speaking of him, that girl Christina I hated pretty much immediately because of how she was acting and because she's not from the Real World and I'm petty, BUT by the end of the episode I kind of didn't hate her anymore?? I think it's because she and her sister surprised me during the challenge and she did pretty good during that elimination. But, meh, don't care that they're gone either necessarily. I already like Nany 10x more this season than last season. She seems more...self-aware? Plus, I love Cohutta so it's kind of nice seeing them able to talk to each other. I was iffy on Cory during his season (Team Brian!) but I'm already loving him this season and hope to see him do well. I also love his cousin and Aneesa's cousin. they were pretty funny together. And okay, I have a kind of irrational hatred towards Cara Maria (I say "irrational" because it feels like everybody else loves her), but I loved her teamup on Bananas this episode. That said, I'm kind of nervous/excited about what's going on with her in the previews. Mostly because I find her to be extremely entitled and judgmental, and hope to see her get taken down a peg.

I really enjoyed the finale and loved the series as a whole. I do agree that the finale was somewhat anti-climactic after the insanity of a few episodes back, but I thought it worked well. I liked how Kilgrave was defeated but must admit to being confused about Jessica's plan. It all seemed to be contingent on hoping that Kilgrave won't command any of those other people, including Trish, to do something terrible. I was really worried for Trish and afraid he would tell her to kill herself, drown herself, or something horrible. But I absolutely loved Jessica's fakeout and her telling Trish "I love you", and then telling Kilgrave to smile. It was perfect. I loved seeing Claire and god Rosario Dawson is really great. And I am so happy Malcolm will be sticking around because I really like his scenes, especially with Jessica. I have to say, I think Trish is my favorite character. She could have easily been a passive, best-friend type role on the sidelines, so I was happy to see her in the action and WANTING to be a part of it. Not only wanting to be part of it, but actively preparing herself by training, etc. I also loved how loyal she was to Jessica and how as soon as she thought Simpson was acting strange, she acted fast. Rachael Taylor impressed me throughout this. I've known her since Transformers, and while I've never thought she was a bad actress at all, I've never thought much of her. So, I was pleasantly surprised at her in this and look forward to more Trish. I will miss Kilgrave's exasperated way he says "Oh, it's PATSY!!" though, heh.

I enjoyed the first one as well, as a guilty pleasure and because I love the cast. But Isla Fisher was a big draw for me, so I'm disappointed she won't be in the sequel. Vampire Diaries and Arrow are two that fall into this category for me. I rarely watch the CW anymore, so I never watched them initially when they were airing, but I liked a lot of the actors in those shows so I was just like "might as well try". I couldn't believe how entertaining and addicting I found Vampire Diaries. I watched the first 3 seasons on Netflix so fast. Now, then I stopped though....but not because I didn't like it anymore. I just never picked up on it. I think the 4th season wasn't on Netflix yet. So I've seen the first like 7 episodes of season 4 but for some reason never continued. That actually happened with Arrow too. I watched the first two seasons but haven't kept up since then. But now because of anything bad! I just haven't. Too much TV that I watch. But my biggest one is Happy Endings. I actually saw like 10 episodes randomly because it was on after Modern Family which at the time I loved. But, I just found it not very funny and kind of try-hard. But a friend of mine whose taste I trust told me I would love it. On her recommendation, I decided to buy the first season and second season because they were super cheap and OMG, did I fall in love. I'm obsessed with it and seriously sad it only lasted 3 seasons. But just like with Friends and Seinfeld, I can now relate almost any situation to a Happy Endings episode. And I will follow that cast ANYWHERE. Specifically Eliza Coupe and Damon Wayans Jr, both of whom I now love for life.

I have so many people that I loved on TV shows that I thought would go onto huge things, but it never completely panned out. It's not that I think all of these people should be huge movie stars, but I just think they should be bigger than what they are! Josh Holloway - He was SO good and charming on LOST and I was excited to see him going on to bigger things but it just never happened! If only they were making the Gambit movie ten years ago because he would be perfect for the role. I also love Maggie Grace and think she's incredibly underrated, but of anybody from LOST she is actually doing pretty good. Speaking of Gambit, Taylor Kitsch was phenomenal in Friday Night Lights and I'm super bummed his film career tanked. I think he was unfairly blamed for his movies flopping. Also, anybody from Friday Night Lights. Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody. Loved them on The OC. Still love them in anything I watch them in, but wish they were even bigger names. And I've said this a few times, but I think Ashley Tisdale is way underrated and should be leading a sitcom. Because I think she has great comedic timing. Same for her Suite Life costar, Brenda Song. It's a shame she never really branched out of Disney because she had a very natural comedic timing and charm to her. There are other people too who were once huge stars but fell off, like Alicia Silverstone and Neve Campbell, who I think are great and could still be stars but I think they are a case of not wanting the fame too much. Co-sign Regina King! She's fantastic. I'm curious to see what comes of most of the Glee cast (the "kids", specifically). It's interesting to see the second generation of New Directions, like Blake Jenner and Melissa Benoist, have a leg up right now. I hope to continue seeing more from Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, and Chord Overstreet (I think he's underrated too). I want to see more from everybody else but I think Dianna has the best chance and the camera loves her, Naya could do drama and comedy and I hope to see more acting from her, and like I said I think Chord was underrated in both drama and comedy. He won't set the world on fire but I hope to see him in more roles. Okay, I realize now that I basically just named a bunch of people I like, but it's mostly because I think they're all great and could be bigger if they got more work! I know this is probably blasphemy, but I prefer the Christina Aguilera/Lil Kim/Mya/Pink version of "Lady Marmalade" to the original Labelle version. I think it's mostly just that I....think of this version more? It came out when I was in 5th grade and it was HUGE. And I love that Lil Kim rap (plus I just love Christina).

I love the whole storyline with Phoebes cookies. "Nes-lay toolhouzz" "NESTLE TOLLHOUSE?!" "You Americans always butcher the French language" And Monica's thunder: "Nobody was supposed to see us kissing!" "Oh is that why you did in the secret hallway where nobody ever goes?" Courteney's delivery kills me.

Yeah, I'm not sure I like Chloe Grace Moretz. Like, I can't explain it but she bugs me. She seems like she's kind of cool in real life so I want to like her, but something about her in her roles bothers me. I'd prefer to see more of Hailee Steinfeld myself. I had actually never seen her in anything (didn't see True Grit), but I enjoyed her in Pitch Perfect 2 and from what I can gather, she seems like a talent (I mean, she WAS nominated for an Oscar at like..13?). Speaking of young Oscar nominees: how has Abigail Breslin been lately? Because she is currently on Scream Queens which is, well it's pretty all over the place, but she is one of the real weak spots IMO. She's just really... not good in it. Now granted, I don't think the role suits her AT ALL, but I haven't seen her in much. Just curious if it's just the role or maybe she just didn't grow up to be a very good actress? I always liked her, so wondered all your thoughts.

As soon as Brandon James' mom said the boy's name was Seth, I texted my friend and said "I bet Kieran went there pretending to be Branson". Heh! I still feel like it has to be Kieran but now it seems so obvious that I can't decide! I'm still leaning on it being Kieran and the "twist" being that Piper has been helping him this whole time. As for Nina/Kieran/Tyler, I believe they said Kieran and Nina were at the bar the night BEFORE she was killed. I took that to mean like, literally a day earlier. So she was with Tyler the night OF her death and Kieran the night BEFORE. If that makes sense.

Ugh, I have no idea who the killer(s) is(are)!!! Brooke kind of got my suspicions buzzing tonight, but I don't want her to be the killer. Also, I know this show isn't masterclass acting, but the scene where Brooke told Jake that Will died was pretty terrible right? But I was like, maybe it's purposely terrible because one or both of them was in on it!! Because I actually thought the actress playing Brooke did a great job on the phone call with her mom.

So I just saw Trainwreck yesterday and I loved it. Amy Schumer and Bill Hader were both great and I'd love to see more of them. However, it reminded me that I really love Brie Larson and want to see her in more as well. I've only really seen her in this and 21 Jump Street, but there's just something about her that is great to me. She just seems so genuine and natural on screen. Hoping to hear more from her soon!
