  1. I have a small, fiesty pug and he never barks. His name is also Bear.
  2. I was worried that Lalo would kill the dog, Little Bear. That was tense.
  3. Same with my mother. She was addicted to xanax and percocet. When I was younger, I remember her being given "diet pills" by the doctor as well.
  4. It was absolutely typical for the times.
  5. Except for the stuff with Lalo, this was a meh episode. It didn't move any of the other character's stories. That being said, I was terrified for that woman and her dog.
  6. And the weird eyebrows. The stuff with Betty and the pills was exactly what happened to my mother. They were giving her percodan, xanax and halcyon all at the same time. Needless to say she struggled with addiction. My mother, like Betty, believed that doctors were gods. The good thing is Betty turned her suffering into a positive by shedding light on addiction and starting the Betty Ford Clinic.
  7. Am I the only one who wished they had stayed in heaven and partied with Dolly? I loved the whole theme about female friendship that drove the show. You don't see a lot of that on tv.
  8. Betty is the most interesting to me in any era. Eleanor has been done so many times. We all know her story. I wish they would have done another first lady that we don't know as much about. Maybe Rosalyn Carter or Barbara Bush. I liked Betty as first lady but never knew her back story. I'm a fan of Michelle Obama, but Viola Davis's portrayal is distracting. Viola Davis is a phenomenal actress, but miscast in this part. Of course, I would be thrilled to hang with any of these ladies.
  9. This has been a gruesome season. I'm thinking a couple of episodes back when the guy's foot came off in his shoe.
  10. The miscarriage scenes really got to me. I suffered a couple of miscarriages years ago and I found myself very moved. The distress she felt is very accurate.
  11. Baby Jack is adorable. When he was naming the shoes I almost cried. That kid stole the show. Give him an Emmy. I'm assuming that the actor is blind which makes his performance all the more remarkable.
  12. My favorite scene was when Susie's sister shook her husband to see if he was alive and then he started snoring and she says, "shit." I laughed so hard at that. Other than that, I was a little disappointed in the episode.
  13. She stole the show. I hope we see more of her in coming weeks. The above is pure speculation on my part.
  14. I did watch New Rules, but not the whole show. The thing that puzzled me was why he objected to alarms in cars for kids who may be left behind. I don't get why he objected to that. A lot of parents are busy and stressed out and it can happen. Even if the parent is a "crackhead" as Bill mentioned, does that mean the kid shouldn't be saved?
  15. Oh wow! I didn't realize that was David Crosby.
  16. This episode was very resonant to me. My sister and I watched it together and we burst into tears when Jack felt the grief of the loss of his mother. My mother died 30 years ago but I remember that feeling well. It was beautifully written and acted. Grief can overcome you at any time. I'm tearing up again writing this. Damn you This is Us!
  17. And James Cagney plays the police chief. I believe it might have been his last film.
  18. You can use whatever device you use for your other streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. or you can go to PBS.org on your computer and watch it there. If you have a tablet, you can also download the app on that.
  19. If anyone is interested, the entire second season is available on the PBS Passport app. I finished it on Friday. I won't give away any spoilers, PBS Passport costs $5/month and is worth it as the funds go to a good cause.
  20. I was hoping Mrs. Hall went to the Daffodil Ball. I wanted to see her out of her work clothes.
  21. One of the many things I love about this show is how realistic the hair and clothing looks for that period. Does anyone know what was wrong with the border collie that was brought in by the woman from last season's finale?
  22. I stopped watching a few years back when they dumbed down Rainbow. I loved Bo and hated what they did to her character. I did watch the episode with Michelle O because it was Michelle O, but I see the writing hasn't improved.
  23. I'm so happy this show is back. I've been hate watching Yellowstone and it's nice to watch a show where all the characters aren't assholes! I always feel happy when I watch All Creatures. I love all the characters especially Mrs. Hall.
  24. I hate Rip. He treats that kid like shit and then he beats the crap out of Lloyd. WTF? I get why he was annoyed but that was over the top. He settles everything with violence. Actually, I hate most of the characters on this show except for Mo, Jimmy, and Monica's grandfather. They are all pretty heinous. I can't wait for Rip to get his.
