  1. There is no way in hell they're going to get away with the book ending, though. Hell to the no. I can't picture any movie studio wanting to distribute in North American signing off on On 5/3/2024 at 7:44 PM, BetterButter said: ‘The Maze Runner’ Reboot in the Works with ‘Transcendence’ Scribe Jack Paglen in Talks to Write They did a fairly decent job with the world building so I think the idea of this could work. Although I don't think it's an accident that this is getting "rebooted" now that Disney owns it. Disney is in a seriously desperate place. Hopefully they're smart and keep the budget low. Does this mean Divergent is next? LOL

  3. I think Blake needs to bring the sassy flamboyance he bought to Purgatory Nick to one of the alters if he's really trying to go for it. Anyway, thank god this Jude stuff is finally out in the open. Geez.
  4. I do think Art is going to divorce Tashi and probably never, under any circumstances, let their daughter go near a tennis court. (It seems kind of telling that you don't see the daughter in any of the audience scenes cheering on Daddy. Then again she couldn't be older than 5 or 6.) I thought they did a really job with letting us know just how completely worn out Art is by 2019- the sequence of Art being stretched out and looked over and given every supplement known to man said a lot. Dude really was at the end of his career.
  5. What do they expect? They had to cast people who were playing teenagers and early 20-somethings for significant portions of the films. It's not like she's the overly young Lois Lane they casted for Superman Returns. They all pulled it off pretty well. And the characters are barely in their 30's- they're all 31. (Remember, it's 2019. I'm guessing it was set that year to avoid all COVID mentions.)
  6. Nicholas Galitizine has carved out a really interesting niche for himself as the love interest in streaming movies and tv shows. What's great is that while his beauty is important to the character, they're actually quite varied. Henry from Red White and Royal Blue looks nothing like Hayes Cambell in The Idea of You.
  7. Dimitri trying desperately to become part of the Dimeras would have been the better story, but whatever.
  8. I kind of like that at the end, it's not about who wins- it's about playing a great game of tennis and those two men reconciling with each other, and Tashi being thrilled about those two things happening. I like to think that Tashi and Art amicably divorce (because Art honestly deserves to be with someone who really loves him), she does attempt to coach Patrick until COVID derails everything, and then eventually she begins a tennis academy. I don't want her daughter to have anything to do with tennis, though- could you just imagine? LOL
  9. I like that in Challengers, Zendaya made the conscious choice to cast her character's mother with a white woman. (Her character in Euphoria is also explicitly biracial.)
  10. After watching Challengers (which filmed in '22) and seeing interviews...I'm thinking Mike Faist got a really well-done nosejob: Really well-done work. Just a bit of a refinement of the tip and it makes a big difference. I really like his acting and I'm rooting for him.
  11. Rafe and Gabi barely seem to even remember their ill-fated baby sister. LOL
  12. I found her so annoying as the lead of The Shape of Water and I was glad she didn't get the Oscar over Frances McDormand.
  13. Maybe he could be a son of Dario's or Arianna the First that we never knew about. Lindsey Hartley is old enough that she could have had a 20-something kid she gave up at birth. Or we could simply decide that Daddy Hernandez was spreading his seed more than everyone thought he was. I mean, I'm not opposed to this because Tripp is leaving and so far the only 20-something male left would be Johnny.
  14. Everyone is saying he's supposed to be Dario.
  15. I think Ashley Puzemis does a pretty good job of taking what they're giving her and making Holly seem like an actual teenage girl who lives in 2024 (or is it 2025?), but New Tate has those "grown up child star" vibes where he can't really act like a relateable teenager because he never really was one. I really, really hope they don't go the route of "Aaron tries to force himself on Sophie during Prom and Tate comes to the rescue." Please. That plot has been so overdone. I think I still have PSTD from Chase and Ciara. EDIT: On the other hand though, rescuing Sophia WOULD give Tate a good reason to show off his karate skills, so maybe?
  16. I mean Holly should be going into her senior year of high school. It's not unheard of for parents to let their kid finish up high school and stay with family or friends instead of forcing them to transfer.
  17. I actually applaud this development because I am so sick of the never-ending "Kristen is obsessed with Brady storyline." I also kind of just enjoy that Alex likes to have his fun. It would be funny if Kristen transfers her obsessions to Alex, of all people. LOL I actually kind of miss Dimitri but I doubt he's actually coming back. I want to like this DID storyline but there's going to need to be a bit more development of how Bobby and Everett are different from each other.
  18. I vote that she stays with Rafe. I've always liked him the most when he's being a surrogate dad.
  19. I kind of wonder if that's the reason why there's been a pretty tepid reaction to this movie. I think a lot of people were thinking it was going to be an actual war movie, instead of what you actually get. I don't know though, I like that we get to breathe for stretches of the movie and that it's not a constant war movie like Dunkirk.
  20. Yeah, I'm wracking my brain and I can't think of anyone who was more than a couple of years out of their teens. Ashley Puzemis was 23 when she started playing Holly. Maybe that's why it's so jarring with New Tate.
  21. They were pretending they were together so that Harris would get pissed off and back off on hovering around Ava as they were trafficking drugs, but it didn't work. Eventually they just went and had sex.
  22. I get the reason why the show doesn't display singing chops as much as they did in the Last Chance Blast Days when they actually had the budget to license pop music, but yeah- it would be easy to let Tate show off his karate skills.
  23. To put this in perspective, I was 11 years old in the summer of 1997. This is when Kristen was parading Baby EJ around as John's. By 2006, I was 20 years old and EJ was at least 26-27.
  24. With all the jokes about how old New Tate is, it makes me wonder- who was the oldest Salem "Teen"? Any guys over 30 playing a teen character? We did have a 29-year old Peter Reckell playing Bo, but his character was meant to be like 21 so he wouldn't count. I also don't think Austin was actually a teenager when he showed up, but early 20's. I could be wrong on Austin, though. But if I'm remembering right, he was a 21-year old hanging out with the teen characters, similar to Brady in the early 2000's.
  25. I really hope it's for her scenes where she reveals that she knew about Leo and Dimitri. That was gold, and it was a great closing arc for her character.
