  1. I cannot handle Amber's eyelashes. What WERE those things? That, coupled with her ridiculously long nails, leads me to believe she learned everything she knows about cosmetics inside prison. She's looking real klassy, there. The only thing that distracted me more than Amber's nails and lashes were Farrah's lips on that reunion show they were filming. Good god, lay off the botox! It's abundantly clear that Tyler is with Catelyn for the fame. It kills me whenever I hear someone say "you don't need to be married to have a kid!" No, you don't. You're absolutely right about that. However, if you're prepared to have a child with someone and thereby stay connected to them for as long as that child or you are alive, you should be willing to marry that person. If you're not committed enough to marry a certain person, you have no business intentionally having a child with that person. It's not just about a piece of paper, it's about your willingness to commit to that specific person. I really don't understand why that's such a difficult concept for people to comprehend. When I saw the scene with Ryan having a beer with his girlfriend my first thought was "wait, isn't he still on probation for that DUI??" Then I realized that was Adam. Those two losers are interchangeable to me. I'm equally intrigued at both their abilities to keep getting girlfriends.
  2. No it wouldn't. I've defended plenty of battery cases in court not involving medical reports. They couldn't prove any sort of specific injury without a report, but that's not a necessary element of a simple battery.
  3. Yeah, I wouldn't trust anything In Touch puts out. They're on par with National Inquirer. If you're going to go with tabloids, stick with People and US Weekly. They're about as reputable as you can get for a tabloid.
  4. Yeah, spending all that money on stupid cars shows all the girls' lack of maturity. I roll my eyes every time I see Kailyn's mercedes and suburban. She's driving at least 70K around between those two cars (more likely a lot more than that.) And I thought Germy was earning like, 500K a year according to Leah last season? Home come now she's crying poor? I think Kail's biggest problem is her impulsiveness. She's impulsive about everything. Marrying Javi, making him join the military, getting pregnant right away, buying the house before the judge made a decision about her moving, buying those cars. She just never thinks about the long term repercussions of anytihng she does. She does what she wants, when she wants. I think a lot of it probably stems from her having to take care of herself growing up. I think, in a way, she feels she's "earned" the right to do whatever she damn well pleases whenever she damn well pleases. To a certain extent, all of the girls suffer from that kind of thinking, save for Chelsea. But Chelsea has Randy to look out for her.
  5. This. I'm sure she was probably raised the same way and likely doesn't know any different. Not that it's an excuse, but it's an explanation, anyway. It makes me INSANE to see the crap my sister in law and brother feed my nephew, but they don't know any better. They're not trying to hurt him or make him unhealthy, they just don't know any different. Education can go a long way. Leah is still the worst though. I laughed out loud when she said she had never "brought down" (or whatever she said) Corey as a father. She's spent the entire season doing just that! On national television! And in front of their daughters! I just can't with her. It's like she doesn't realize she's being filmed. Also, I 100% believe Corey regarding the missed therapy appointments. You generally don't receive a letter threatening to terminate your coverage for non-attendance after two excused absences. And I don't believe a single, solitary thing she said with respect to the therapists' alleged comments. She's shown herself to be a straight up liar on many occasions. Her word means nothing.
  6. Okay, there's PLENTY to snark on Jenelle about, but her face directly after giving birth isn't one of them. The girl is likely exhausted, I think we could cut her a little slack if she's not shiny and joyous immediately after giving birth. I wasn't exactly anxious for a photo shoot right after having my son, either.
  7. I was SHOCKED when Adam actually said "Chelsea is a good mom, she's raising her well." There must've been some crazy shit talking immediately preceding that statement, since it seemed to come out of nowhere. I think that's the first nice thing Adam has ever said about Chelsea.
  8. My heart broke for Jace in this episode, too. That poor kid doesn't stand a chance. Threatening him like that was absolutely inappropriate and let's face it, Barb has two kids whose children are now living with her. That does speak to her parenting skills, or lack thereof. Yes, as adults we all make our own choices, but damage done during our early formative years effects how we make those choices. I'm shocked, shocked that Jenelle had little Kaiser roll two whole months ago and there haven't been any arrests or break ups yet. Chelsea bugged me this episode with her incessant baby talk and bitchy attitude towards Taylor. Is Taylor's dumb ass getting her karma two-fold for knowingly procreating with the known douchebag Adam? Sure. But gloating about it and being horrible to her just makes Chelsea look petty. And for the love of god SHUT UP with the damn baby talk! She's watched herself for 5 seasons now. Does she not hear how grating it is? I'm chalking this week's behavior up to the Bud Lights consumed, however. Leah bugs the crap out of me. I also don't understand how Corey isn't paying the girls medical bills, as they're on his insurance. Having dependents on your insurance policy is not cheap. We had to move our son on to my husband's insurance because having him on mine shot my premium up substantially. As in hundreds of dollars every month. Also, I thought they already had court ordered child support? Didn't they go through the courts before? Her repeated attempts to paint Corey out as some deadbeat dad would have me livid if I were him or his wife. I know she's stressed out and understandably so, but trying to demonize Corey isn't going to make things any better. She just bugs. Also, am I the only one who thought that friends makeup she was airbrushing on made her look like an oompa loompa? My god, when her arm was next to her face it was ridiculous. She was ORANGE. Has Leah ever had any lessons in how to actually apply make-up on people before putting herself out there as some kind of expert? At least her hair was looking better this episode. That girl is a MESS.
  9. I was responding to the previous poster who expressed sympathy towards kids whose parents weren't at every practice like she was for her kids. There was a discourse going about it when I posted that, but a number of posts showed up between that conversation and my post. I suppose I should've used the quote button. ;) I stand by my thoughts that Chelsea should know better than to get Aubree excited about anything having to do with Adam ahead of time. It's been four years, he hasn't changed. She's not new, you know? She's just hurting Aubree with that.
  10. Count me in as one who doesn't get why not being there for every practice scars a child or makes the parent a crappy one. My mom worked when I was in school. As such, she was never able to make it to any of my after school extra curriculars. Now, nighttime games are one thing, but after school practice? For the working parent, that's not really possible. If I recall (high school was quite a while ago) there were never really any parents there, maybe one or two. Not to mention the fact that I always gave those parents that were at EVERY practice the side-eye. Helicopter much? I mean, it's practice. Of course, Chelsea should've never mentioned to Aubrey that Adam was coming. As soon as she said it I was thinking "well that's stupid, you haven't even heard back from him yet!!" I'm sure that was done subconsciously on purpose. She wants Aubrey to see what a POS Adam is. I can't really blame her. I mean, can you imagine if your kid loved your loser ex despite him being a total loser of a dad? It'd be frustrating for sure. That's only going to hurt Audrey, though. And Kail. Ugh. I was thinking during her breastfeeding debacle "just give the kid a bottle! You've already pumped them before!!" I don't know why she was being so stubborn about it. He has clearly taken a bottle before since she's pumped one. But Kail is the ultimate martyr after all. I just can't with Jenelle. Little Kaiser roll will either be with Barbara or in foster care by the end of the year.
  11. No, mitigating (and aggravating) factors are presented at sentencing, not trial (although they can be part of a person's defense depending on what they're charged with.) Typically, the defense attorney will file a statement in mitigation before sentencing, which the prosecution can respond to. Now, I only practice in California, so I can only speak to the law here. But there are specific factors in mitigation enumerated in the penal code that the defense can argue to get a lesser sentence (felonies in California are punished by a "triad" which is a low term, mid-term or aggravated term.) For example, a Judge will sentence someone to the aggravated term if the circumstances in aggravation (also enumerated in the penal code) outweigh the circumstances in mitigation and vice versa. There are also specific, enumerated factors the defense can argue in support of a person getting probation rather than a prison sentence. It's all laid out in the penal code. These are all sentencing issues, not trial issues.
  12. Whenever someone is convicted of a crime, especially a felony, they have an opportunity to present factors in mitigation. The fact that she was likely too dumb and/or weak to do anything but what her husband told her to do isn't saying she's not guilty, but it is a factor in mitigation. Factors in mitigation are used to argue for lesser sentences and/or probation. From what I've read, Teresa entered into the plea agreement without a strong inclination that she would be receiving probation. I, for one, would be shocked if she actually got prison time. I'd bet a good amount of money she'll skate with probation.
  13. We also have children and (gasp!) a fake tree. Real trees are expensive and messy as hell. We've got 4 cats who would make it their personal goal to make sure any real tree is destroyed within days of going up, with all the needles puked up in various corners of the house. No thanks. Plus, a very nice fake tree will pay for itself in 3 Christmases. It's a no brainer for us. I didn't even notice the Gorgas were driving a Bentley. That's absurd. No one is buying that they can actually afford a car like that. I was thinking of Chateau Sheree during that entire scene outside their "new" home. Delusional, the both of them. I seriously cannot comprehend how you can be earning a substantial amount of income, know that it's temporary, yet make no attempts whatsoever to invest it wisely or put any of it away for your three children. My mind boggles.
  14. Eh, I didn't read too much into it. I think she equated it to needing a strong drink. Was it the most thoughtful, intelligent and reflective remark? Probably not. But I seriously doubt she set out to offend anyone. If you don't have experience with addiction to prescription narcotics, you're really not going to look that deeply into it either as a viewer or as the person making the comment. However, I think if you don't like her then you tend to look for stuff to take umbrage to. How big is the Gorga's rental? It looked like a really big, spacious house to me. I'm wondering how many years it'll take before the Gorgas find themselves in the same position as the Guidices. That kind of constant fronting must be exhausting! I really enjoy the Christmas episodes. I like watching them decorate and seeing the family traditions, I was sad to see it was already Christmas last night. They could've stretched out the holidays for at least a couple more eps. It also made it seem twice as silly that the "harvest" party appeared to be a week or two before Christmas. Why not just call it a holiday party?
  15. I always crack up at all the posters exclaiming how they're "done with the show!" Yet they care enough to keep posting on a message board devoted to said show... ;) I also don't get why they don't just move to St. Alice. The vamps have moved on so it's unlikely they'll be back, at least not any time soon. It's a decent place to stay and regroup. I was also wondering why people just didn't stay in their homes at night but posters pointing out how vamps can lure them outside explains that. I'd be looking for a secure, underground bunker to spend my evenings in.
  16. Okay, this is probably a side issue, but I'm really confused about Brianna's sex reveal (I hate it when people say "gender." You're not revealing baby's gender, you're revealing their sex.) According to Vicki, Brianna is due July 11. This was filmed around the holidays right, or immediately thereafter? I'm assuming January since Tamra kept referring to Cut fitness' stupid week free ad for the month of January (do any gyms NOT do this in January?) So she'd only be like, 3 months along. You don't have the anatomy scan until 20 weeks or later normally. I know it's a non-issue, but it's bugging me.
  17. I totally agree with this. I know he's not well liked on these boards, but I find him endearing for the reasons you mentioned. He really tries to engage with people and that goes a long way. He's also both a gracious host and guest, which doesn't happen a lot in this crowd.
  18. Briana strikes me as depressed. I really wish people would stop insulting her weight because it's not like she's sitting around eating bonbons all day. She had/has a thyroid condition which necessitated surgery, I'm not so sure her weight is something she can help right now. I think her desire to get away from Vics together with her plummeting self esteem due to the weight gain and her medical scares resulted in her latching on to the first man that would take her. She's also so stubborn and determined to prove everyone wrong, she'll never leave him. I agree she's been acting like a spoiled brat, but I can't hate on her too much because I think she's created a really sad and scary life for herself that she's stuck in (psychologically, I realize she's perfectly capable of physically leaving.)
  19. I was getting really, really irritated watching Jazmin's parents. They're effectively isolating her away from everyone, cutting her off from getting any help with her baby. If she didn't already have PPD, she'd be well on her way living with them. There doesn't seem to be any updates available online, either. I'm dying to know what's going on with them now.
  20. I really wish Bravo could see how disgusting and uncomfortable George makes people. All they care about is ratings, so if they think viewers are enjoying him, they'll keep bringing him back and having him amp up his shenanigans, not caring one bit how uncomfortable he makes the women on the show. I looked at the comments on Aviva's blog last week and the vast majority of them find her father hilarious, it was really depressing. Obviously Bravo finds nothing at all wrong with his foul and over the line comment about desecrating Ramona's corpse, or else they wouldn't have aired it. I shudder to think where the line actually is with them.
  21. After watching the preview episode I really don't think the new cast are friends of Melissa's. It looks like that was more of a front to bring them into the fold. I mean, Melissa didn't even know one of her "friends" had breast cancer.
  22. Does anybody know why Dina and Caroline stopped talking like, 3 years ago? Although I'm excited for the return of the show, I was also giving the new cast mates the side-eye through the preview. I liked the fact that the old cast were actual friends and family and had real life bonds with one another, it gave the show more of a real feeling. Watching Teresa, Melissa and Dina interact with these random women (especially when Teresa is going through these legal issues like someone said upthread) is just going to feel...artificial.
