  1. I don't believe that either of the pregnancies were accidental. Thomas was a 50+ year old poonhound who managed to womanize for 30+ years without ever getting anyone pregnant (as far as we know). Kathryn was a 21 year old party girl with a party girl life style. Both were well aware of how to prevent pregnancy. Thomas wanted a brood mare from a good blood line, and Kathryn wanted to be married to Thomas. So I think they both knew they what they were doing when Thomas got Kathryn pregnant in both instances.
  2. It's no secret that I despise Thomas. So, I have a bit of a conspiracy theory regarding this whole Thomas/Ashley Kathryn plot point: I think Thomas was using Ashley to try to provoke a reaction from Kathryn so that he could use the video in court. I think the ranting Ashley did about Kathryn's parenting came directly from Thomas - which is probably why he never tried to shut here down. Because if he had tried, Ashley could say something like, "but that's what you told me" and Thomas didn't want that to happen. My theory is that Thomas was aware that Kathryn was successfully completing the court appointed parenting plan at the time of filming. He also knew that the season would be airing when the completion date was met. Once Kathryn successfully completes the plan, which apparently happened this week, she can go back to court to have them revisit the custody issue. So, I think that Thomas auditioned for a girlfriend that he could then pit against Kathryn in the hopes of provoking her into making an ass of herself on television and when the first one fell through, he settled on Ashley. I also think he will keep Ashley around for as long as she is useful to him when it comes to provoking the other women in his life, and while he works through the sexual assault allegations. The beauty of this theory is, that if it is true, his plan seems to be backfiring on him. First, Kathryn has successfully completed the plan, including passing all of the drug tests that Thomas was able to randomly demand, and will be going back to court to revisit their custody agreement soon. Second, this season has been a Thomas/Ashley shit show and is only reinforcing what horrible man he is. Third, the sexual assault allegations are really hurting his reputation -w which I honestly didn't think could get any worse. Anyway, that's my conspiracy theory based on nothing more than the internet and my disdain for Thomas.
  3. You know, I'm not mad at Kathryn for not wanting Ashley at the party. This is Kathryn's chance to throw a party for her child and show the father of said child that she can work with him without being the cause of a major scene. Whether Kathryn is truly maturing or just white knuckling it one day at a time, Ashley is a stressor. Thomas wants to use Ashley to stress Kathryn. Kathryn and Thomas BOTH agreed that Ashley should not be there. Thomas is refusing to tell Ashley that he agreed and is letting Ashley make a fool of herself. Thomas is the reason this is even an issue. He has primary custody. He agreed with Kathryn about not inviting Ashley. He won't just tell Ashley or back Kathryn. Saint's birthday party is only an issue because Thomas wants it to be.
  4. Wasn't Rory 11 years old when they moved into the crap shack? Did I imagine that?
  5. Ok, so I have two opinions about this. 1. I personally think it is invasive to ask a couple when/If they are planning to have children, no matter what their age. To me, it is the equivalent of asking whether or not they are using birth control. It is simply no one's business. My husband and I will have been married for 15 years in October and for the first 5 or so years of our marriage we were constantly bombarded with questions about children. We had long decided that we weren't going to, but if we did change our minds, it would be to adopt. It didn't matter if it was a close friend or even a close relative who asked, it always felt very invasive to discuss something so personal with someone other than my spouse, unless it was a topic that we brought up ourselves (which we never did with other people). I do understand that it is a social norm and that people mean nothing by it when they ask. It's especially true when you are newly married or engaged that people feel their curiosity outweighs your privacy, because it's just what everyone asks a newly married or engaged couple. I get it, but I still think it's rude because it simply isn't anyone's business. So that is just my own pet peeve and wish the well meaning but curious folks out there would consider how invasive and personal a question it is before it comes out of their mouth. 2. Understanding that it is a social norm to ask such a personally invasive question, I don't really fault Mauricio for asking other than my own personal issue. Again, it is a social norm to ask a newly engaged couple whether they plan to have children no matter how much I hate it. The fact that Camille is 50 and used a surrogate really has nothing to do with the question. Obviously, she could use a surrogate again if she wanted more kids, and since there are women who have had children into their late 40's early 50's (Halley Berry and Janet Jackson, and my grandmother come to mind), I think her age is moot.
  6. I know it's cliche, but sometimes clothing wears a person rather than a person wearing the clothing. Kathryn was and still can be a perfect example of that. I think the same is true of Ashley, and I feel like she is getting the same "Pretty Woman/Prostitute" edit that Kathryn got in an earlier season- except it was Patricia doing the honors instead of Thomas. So instead of the much older man dictating the clothing choices he was willing to pay for, an older woman chose the clothing and sent the bill and video footage to the older man. I am not saying that is what happened here. I am simply saying that is how it felt watching it. I will say that the clothing and accessories were fine and even beautiful. Unfortunately, much like when Thomas chose Kathryn's clothes, Patti chose things that Ashley simply couldn't confidently wear. The black ensemble is a great example. I saw a beautiful Chanel bag, a gorgeous black gown, and a lot of hair. By the time I saw Ashley's face, the show cut to another scene. So all I remember are those beautiful clothes and accessories. I'm still not sure how Ashley actually looked in any of them.
  7. I think it would have been wrong for Luke to behave like a father to Jess. Jess wasn't his kid. Luke knew nothing about raising a kid, and honestly, he wasn't asked by anyone to be Jess's father or even father figure. He was asked as an uncle to allow his nephew to live with him until he finished high school. IMO the problems with Jess really always got worse when Luke tried to parent him by laying down the law and making parental decrees. Like when he tried to get Jess to quit his job and focus on his schoolwork (by offering to give him a raise at the diner and pay for his car insurance), or trying to formulate a plan so that Jess could still graduate. At one point he was even begging Jess to work with him and Jess made it clear that he was not going back to school, no matter what Luke said or did. Luke was as good to Jess as Jess would allow Luke to be. And while I agree that Luke needed to be better at communicating, Lorelai left because SHE refused to communicate with Luke. She went months making sad faces behind his back, and allowing the town to cover for her. It was like she expected him to read her mind, while she was giving the best poker face, only to melt into sad face the second he wasn't looking. She talked to Rory and Sookie about how she was feeling left out, but never said a word to Luke. Then, she explodes on him in the middle of the street and he's just supposed to know that this is his one and only chance to drop everything and elope with her? I will agree that he could have taken a couple of days to calm down, but by that time, what would have been the point? Jess decided that no matter what he wasn't going back to school at all. And considering the way Jess had behaved the entire time he had lived with him, Luke had no reason to believe that Jess was going to change his mind. All Luke had was the deal, and he kept his end. Jess refused (multiple times) to keep his, so Jess had to go. I've had a lot of issues with the Luke character, but honestly, I will always side with him on this, and it seems like Jess eventually did too.
  8. Isn't that the number rule for working at his company? They have it on signs around the building to remind the agents that being an asshole won't be tolerated. I just assumed it was more advertising for The Agency and I actually preferred it to the very obvious The Agency hats and shirts he is constantly trying to get on camera.
  9. I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been more activity since the new season premiered. Here's my take so far: I have never liked Evelyn, but I do understand why the women who are her friends try to keep that friendship. She seems like she would be fun to hang out with even if she is childish and petty. Also, I still side with her in the Jackie bullshit. I still can't believe that Jackie is so awful that she made me side with Evelyn and I still do when it comes to the two of them. I've always been on the fence about Tami. There are times when I find her hilarious, but mostly I thought she was an abusive bully. I think it's rich that she is trying to be all buddy/buddy with Jen since she was not only really quick to drop her in order to stay cool with Evelyn, she even tried to dog her a few times on Twitter and the show. But, now she has a problem with Jen and Evelyn being friends again. I will say that I thought it was very smart of her to simply leave that lunch with Shaunie and Jen. She didn't give them any real ammo to take back to the group and it keeps her from looking too bad with all of the projects she has going on. Jackie disgusts me. I can't with her. Any woman who puts her daughter in a position to choose between being a mature adult and joining in a childish feud should not be called a parent. I am very curious about that, "this season on Basketball Wives" clip. Are they saying that Evelyn slept with Shaunie's ex? And if so, which ex? Or, is that some kind of fake out? Is Jen turning on Evelyn? What's the deal with all of that?
  10. Honestly, I thought this was well played on Kathryn's part. Thomas does not see women as reasonable or logical or as human beings. He sees them as emotional things that he can swoop in to save or control. If she were simply upfront with him, he would either shut down or goad her into some type of argument and nothing would be accomplished. Instead she would once again look like a screaming banshee that Thomas was lucky to evade. But, by playing to his flirtatious side and showing just a enough emotion, she was able to reasonable reactions from him and actually make progress when it comes to seeing her kids more often. She played to his ego and if that is what works, then I say more power to her. Also, I do think that she still has feelings for him (which is so gross), but finally realized that they are simply toxic together. So she finally decided not to engage in the repetitive toxic pattern they established. Now, Thomas has no reason to go after her on Social Media unless he wants to look like the childish asshole that he is. So while I wouldn't recommend flirting to get what you want, it really seems to be the only way to get anything near an adult response out of someone like Thomas. It's as though she finally leveled the playing field, which is important because she is tied to him for the rest of her life because of the fact that they have children together. If she keeps on like this, maybe they can finally co-parent their children without the courts having to be involved. ETA: Am I the only one who hates the fact that Austen never closes his mouth? I can just imagine him mouth breathing all over the place and just get grossed out by it.
  11. Yeah, there is a big difference between being ok with someone who uses the word, and being called that word by someone. Erika wears a statement necklace with the word on it, I guess she feels like it's part of her brand. But, I think if Erika had actually called Camille that word, Camille would have reacted the same way she did with Dorit.
  12. I agree. If you compare the V-neck to the one of the girl in white, they hit very close to the same place. If you compare it to Mason's dress, the V is higher than or right at the same point as Mason's. The accents make her dress look more revealing than it is, but if that is a style she feels comfortable with, more power to her. Is she supposed to be ashamed of the fact that she has boobs? This is a girl who admitted to having body issues in a public forum. She picked a prom dress that she felt good in, why shame her or her mother for that? Was Rinna supposed to say, "you have boobs, so you need to take care to cover them up or people will think there's something wrong with you, or my mothering skills"? How does that help her body issues? She looks great in the dress. Regardless of how anyone feels about Rinna, her daughter should be allowed to feel beautiful in something she chose to wear. I seriously doubt having a bunch of strangers clutch their pearls online about her prom attire is going to help her find a way to be comfortable in her body.
  13. Apologies if this has been posted before, but I remembered that back in the TWOP days, one of the writers did a "fame audit" of the cast. I did some searching because, I really wanted to see how well they did or didn't nail the GG Cast's future prospects. Unsurprisingly, they got Melissa McCarthy's completely wrong. What's really interesting is Sean Gunn (Kirk), they mention his brother as an asset, but only because he was married to Jenna Fischer. I guess no one saw Guardians of the Galaxy coming that long ago. I do think that they were spot on about Kelly Bishop though, that woman can do WHATEVER she wants. I think the biggest surprise was Alexis Bledel. Like Guardians of the Galaxy, no one saw The Handmaid's Tale coming either. Anyway, it's a great read for anyone interested in looking back on the original cast and looking at their current projects. http://www.brilliantbutcancelled.com/show/gilmore-girls/fame-audit-the-cast-of-gilmore/
  14. I think it's hilarious that Megan wants a feud with Teddi and Teddi refuses to indulge her. Sometimes, the best way to get at a blowhard is to refuse to engage.
  15. I find the debates about grudge holding hilarious. I mean, Rinna realizes that she held a 3 year grudge against Kim right? And, what was all of that Instagram and talking head stuff about LVP, if not massive grudge holding? Hell, Eileen isn't even on the show and she seemed to still have a grudge against Dorit when she made her cameo appearance. And, Kyle? She still has multiple grudges against LVP, most of them seemingly starting from their first or second season. Dorit is holding on to a grudge against Teddi because of things that Dorit herself did. So, I think they all need to back off of this LVP holds a grudge thing because I haven't seen her indulge in any grudge holding this season.
  16. "Down to Earth" I completely blanked on the name, but I totally remember watching that show. It's probably like a lot of shows from that time period and is completely unwatchable now. Like a few months back I caught an old episode of Different Strokes while hanging out with my best friend. As luck would have it, it just happened to be an episode that included Kim as a special guest. We had a hell of a time laughing at just how bad the acting was.
  17. I think this was just shoddy writing. Dean originally planned to go to community college, and said that Rory had inspired him to do that. So, in my mind, there was no reason for Dean to propose to Lindsay other than the writers trying to create tension for story purposes. I mean even in that time period, it is weird that the two of them would get married and both sets of their parents would be ok with it. I mean how could their parents be ok with that when they knew that Dean was working dead end jobs to get by? Even if Dean wanted that old fashioned sort of dynamic, both of his parents worked (wasn't his mother a nurse?). So, why change his college plans to get married when he could have continued dating her while he was in school? And why wouldn't his parents have an issue with it? Why would Lindsay's parents be ok with her marrying her high school boyfriend when he had no longterm life or career goals?
  18. It's funny, but I had no idea who Kim Richards was before this show, but I was very well aware of who Kyle was. In my defense, I am a huge fan of the movie Halloween, and I LOVED Little House. I can't really speak to her earlier child roles, but I do remember seeing her as a teen actor throughout the 80's. There was a television from the mid to late 80's that she was one of the principles on, the name of the show escapes me, but I remember watching it consistently. Kim may have been a child star, but Kyle was a child actor who worked consistently into her teens and adulthood. I don't really care to IMDB this, but if we were to compare their careers, I would say that Kyle is probably ahead based solely on how consistently she worked through her childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. EDITED: I actually saw Kyle in a Lifetime Movie as well. I want to say she played someone's party girl friend/sister, who ended up being suffocated in a freezer.
  19. I think it was also the way that Lorelai presented her breakup with Luke. Lorelai made it seem like they simply didn't work out because Luke was too preoccupied with being a dad and just wasn't in it with her. So, she was all in on cheering up Lorelai. Then, finding out that Lorelai slept with Chris was the nightmare scenario that she originally imagined happening in earlier an earlier season when she told Chris to stay away from Lorelai after Sherri left. She knew her mother couldn't help herself, that somewhere in the back of her mind she was still holding a place for Chris and that he was never going to be able to fulfill that, and that Lorelai would throw away something good just to give Chris another chance and end up hurt. I also think she was mad because she felt blindsided. She knew that Lorelai was trying to deal with the April situation, and had encouraged Lorelai to talk with Luke about it (which Lorelai refused to do until she had a screaming breakdown and refused to hear anything he said unless it was "yes, let's elope right now), but didn't think the two were anywhere near breaking up. So she went from believing that Luke was completely at fault for the breakup, to learning that Lorelai backslid with Chris, and here she was doing goofy things to make her mom feel better. When in actuality, it was what she had feared happening a year or so before.
  20. There have been a few clues about the type of life Lorelai had growing up, but the thing that sticks out to me the most is that I believe Richard and Emily had a habit of trying to gaslight her. In House is not a Home, Lorelai goes to her parents and asks for their help to prevent Rory from dropping out of school. She told them how the Huntsburgers treated Rory, how Mitchum destroyed her with his criticism (something she should have been able to take if she truly wanted to be a journalist) and now Rory was drifting and they needed to triple team her to intervene. Richard and Emily agree. Rory manipulates grandpa into giving her a free place to live while she drops out of school. Richard realizes he should have backed Lorelai. Emily reminds Richard that she was perfectly willing to go along with Lorelai's plan. Cut to Friday Night's Alright for Fighting, Richard and Emily pretend they have no recollection of the conversation - to the point where Lorelai even re-enacts the entire scene. If Richard and Emily can knowingly lie to their daughter about something that she was there to witness, how hard must it have been to be a kid in that house? Constantly questioning whether or not you were crazy or your parents were just lying to you? And, if they are just lying, why? That would be crazy making.
  21. It could be a medical condition - like Bell's Palsy. I seem to remember Alexis Denisoff came down with it while filming the show Angel (wow! I'm really old).
  22. That wasn't a very personal story. She talking about her cat killing something and Kyle interrupted her to get wine. It was rude, but also hilarious as all get out.
  23. I've been thinking about the hurt that Lorelai caused her parents when she left home with Rory. It's this odd thing that the writers will throw in when it's convenient. Lorelai knows all to well how much hurt she caused them because Richard told her. She knows that Emily stayed in bed for a week and was inconsolable when she left. But, she keeps telling this story of them wanting her gone because she was an embarrassment long after finding out how they actually took it. It's not just that though. There was always this crazy inconsistency in the way they interact with each other. For all of the coldness the writers ascribed to Richard, it was obvious that he doted on Lorelai when she was a child. You can see it in those rare moments like when she says "thank you daddy" when he gave her the check at graduation and again when he catches her climbing out her window to avoid having to sit through dinner with her dud of a date at Richard and Emily's. I get that the writers wanted to keep the tension in the story so they would always step away from it when it was close to being resolved. But, at the same time it was enough to give me whiplash with how quickly they would go from making a breakthrough "I am a Kayack, hear me roar" to Emily being cold to her the next morning because she has to cancel Lorelai's wedding party. I do think that so much of the inconsistency in the relationships in this show has to do with the writers not knowing how to keep the characters moving forward.
  24. I hope I am posting this in the correct thread. I love to read recaps of this particular show. I was so disappointed when Previously.TV stopped recapping this show. But, I got over it. The ones that I read now (in order) are: Vulture (Usually my favorite - but there is bias because of the Erika Jayne book connection) RealityTea (Love the recaps but don't read the comments because they are way too mean) TrashTalkTV (I used to write for them and I just can't quit them) Tamara Tattles (not my favorite because spelling and grammar is important) So far three of the recaps have been posted. Of those three, the two that actually recapped the death of LVP and Ken's dog (Vulture and RealityTea) have been very flip about it. Or, they have described it as LVP begging for sympathy. Is that a thing now? I'm not a dog person, but I was inconsolable for weeks after my first ever cat died. Is it weird that I think that Vulture and RealityTea's recappers were especially callous when describing Ken and LVP's reactions to losing a member of their pet family? Or, am I just being extra sensitive? I honestly can't tell. I was honestly in tears watching their reactions, but I have weird emotional reactions to pets in general, so I don't know if I am taking it all too seriously.
  25. YES! It's like the whole panty-gate thing. Kyle and LVP were goofing around about underwear and LVP joking asked to borrow a pair. Instead of playing along, she sucks all of the air out of the room by declaring that she isn't wearing any. Or, like when PK and Dorit were making fun of how old LVP was and Dorit said something about British humor. Erika, sucks all of the air out of the conversation by declaring that Dorit is an American from Connecticut (Did she think Dorit didn't know where she was from?). Or, when Dorit was complimenting Erika and talking about how women come into their own once they hit their 40's - Erika blurts out "you just turned 40." Or, when Eileen tries to get everyone to calm down and stop attacking Dorit all at once by saying "It's not like she killed your child"... and we all know how that went. Erika is the Beverly Hills version of Kelly Bensimon from NY. If the group conversation is not about how awesome she is, she will do what she needs to to bring it back to her even if it makes everyone else completely uncomfortable.
