S06.E13: Win, Place, Or Sonja
MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I have seen some of the Housewives - too bad they are mostly reviled- say that Bravo edits their blogs. Teresa from NJ and Nene from Atlanta have both said that they don't like blogging for Bravo because Bravo edits them. I have always thought that the real reason they choose to host their own blogs outside of Bravo is so they can control the comments. But, I have also seen where Bravo will delete negative comments about the both of them (as well as many other less liked howives - looking at you Tamra, Kyle, and TMCFR) so I don't know where that whole thing lies. I do know that the Bravo machine is not to be trusted. As a Devil's Advocate argument, I think that your's is a good one. -

We don't know that she is laughing and joking about it now. We have two sentences in a blog that follows the same party line that all of the other women are following - that doesn't automatically equal shallow and spineless to me. At most it shows self preservation. At worst it shows misplaced diplomacy based on the actions of her co-workers. Are Sonja, Heather, Carole, and Ramona also spineless? They all laughed George off as the "charming old lech" last season - until Ramona took issue with Aviva. After that, Carole, Heather, and Sonja felt bad for the old pervert for being kicked out of Ramona's party. -

HAHAHA! I knew it was a fame whore that had a following! I just couldn't remember her name for the life of me. RE: George sizing up his victims. I wonder if he would have behaved the way he did with Kristen if her dick head husband had been by her side? Also, did anyone notice how Maurio was telling George not to touch his wife, but at the same time he was laughing it off as some type of joke? That was so weird. Especially knowing what we know about them now. -
Bethenny & Jason: The Divorce Showdown

Jason didn't pull the plug on Bryn being on the talk show until the divorce was underway. He had no problem with her being on the show prior to that and even appeared on the show with Bryn. -
S06.E13: Win, Place, Or Sonja
MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Last season after George poked Sonja in the back, Andy had some fame whore lawyer on WWHL (I can't remember which one but I remember that she was respected in some circles) along with Aviva. The lawyer was adamant that this was sexual assault and that George could and should have been arrested. The outrage from the fan base was just as if not more pronounced at that time, as it is now in Kristin's case. Aviva's response that "Sonja wasn't wearing underwear" further enraged the lawyer and the audience as Aviva was obviously saying that the victim deserved what she got. The outrage and the "please keep George off my screen" comments were every bit as prevalent and yet here George is on our screen and being given even more disgusting screen time and a story line with his "engagement." So, if we use the same logic, Sonja's voice would have had the most impact at that point. And what did Sonja say? Nothing that I could find about the incident. In fact, we saw Sonja laughing it off when Aviva used it as a joke in her toast to her dad and Cody. My point - I apologize for taking so long to make it - is that Sonja, who had many more fans last year than Kristen has this year, had every opportunity to speak out about it and she chose to brush it under the rug. Kristen is doing the same thing and is being vilified for not speaking out. It's as though Kristen is stuck in this weird situation where if she speaks out about being assaulted she is told to accept it because "that's just how Ramona is." But, when she is warned "hey, this guy might grope you, but don't worry, that's jut how he is." And she tries to just go along with it, she is somehow a coward who is endangering her daughter and other women out in the world. Sonja has a young daughter as well, no one was saying that she should have said or done something for her daughter's sake at the time. But, Kristen is being called out. Maybe if Kristen had totally ignored it in her blog post the way Sonja did, the wrath wouldn't be as strong. ETA: I agree. I notice that he hasn't tried this on Heather, and that for all of his gross talk, to Carole, he hasn't groped her - that we have seen. -

But why should her voice have more impact than Sonja's or Carole's or Heather, or any of the women who defended him when Ramona kicked him out of her charity event? Kristen is towing the party line even now. Her outrage over being physically assaulted by Ramona was met with "that's just Ramona." Even the audience was telling her to let it go. But, now she is supposed to don a cape and lead a crusade against George when absolutely no one else was willing to do it? Even Ramona greeted George kindly when he first arrived at her charity event. She hugged him, kissed him on the cheek, thanked him for coming and everything. And this was after he spoke to Carole about squirting orgasms and poked his erection into Sonja's back. It wasn't until he started following her around and grabbed her arm that she got angry even then, it was about him making a scene at her event. Why should Kristin be singled out as the one who has the most influence over this guy's behavior when none of the self admitted "ballsy" women on the show have been willing to do so? -
Bethenny & Jason: The Divorce Showdown
MatildaMoody replied to ScoobieDoobs's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
One of them still has primary custody. Unless they have decided that going to court anytime a legal decision for Bryn has to be made if they don't agree. Then, one of them has to have primary custody. It was never about sharing physical custody of Bryn. ETA: New York Law would require one of them to be listed as the primary custodial parent. That is why the both originally filed for it. Jason dropped his petition for whatever reason (Maybe PR, Maybe he didn't think he could win - who knows). But, this was never about sharing Bryn or Bethenny cutting Jason out of Bryn's life. It was about New York legal requirements. -
Bethenny & Jason: The Divorce Showdown
MatildaMoody replied to ScoobieDoobs's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I'm really not sure I agree with this. As you said, Bethenny is not a quitter. So, I don't think she would have even taken the stand in the first place if she were afraid of what would come out under cross examination. She is way too into making sure it's a fight she can win before going in. Plus, she is well aware of all of her antics that have been caught on camera and has taken ownership of said antics without blinking. I do think that she was probably advised to shell out more money and make it go away in order to stop hurting her brand. But, I would be willing to bet that she didn't do it willingly. It simply isn't her MO. Since custody was never a real issue (they were always going to share physical custody), I suspect that Jason was holding out for more money and Bethenny finally took her lawyer's advice and paid it. -

MatildaMoody replied to ScoobieDoobs's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
But, there was never a question of the two of them sharing physical custody. It was only a question of who would be the primary decision maker in case the two of them couldn't agree and who would be listed as primary for tax reasons. So, I'm not sure that Bethenny actually capitulated on anything as there was nothing to capitulate on. -

The hot water thing is a misdirect. Apparently, according to some of her interns, there is hot water in the house, Sonja just keeps the temperature turned down on the hot water heater. Apparently, she started doing it when her daughter was really young to prevent her from getting burned. But, continued doing it when she saw how much money it saved. So, Sonja has hot water she just has to adjust her hot water heater to access it. -

I wasn't aware that there was a custody battle. I thought custody between Sonja and the Ex was completely settled. -

But, would your husband's father walk around your home wearing the same if he were just there for a visit? I'm not trying to be snarky or combative, I just want to know if this kind of behavior is typical of other people's in-laws, as I have never experienced this with my husband's parents and would be appalled by it. -

MatildaMoody replied to ScoobieDoobs's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the apartment actually purchased/leased through the Skinny Girl Corporation? Also, when my parents come to visit my dad has enough couth to not walk around my house in his underwear and I don't even work out of my home anymore. The same is true for my husband's parents. Nor, do they walk around in their underwear when we visit them. Even if things were on a good level between Bethenny and Jason, why on earth would Jason's father think that it is ok to walk around Bethenny and Jason's home in his underwear in the middle of the day? is that something that people really do on a regular basis and is considered normal parental behavior? I mean if they were in The Hoppy's home I could at least say he has every right to walk around that way regardless of who is visiting, but who does that in someone else's home? Even if it is one of their adult children? -

I remember something similar. I couldn't figure out the context though. It was just s weirdly edited episode all around. -

MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
That was the editing. You can tell because of the fact that Sonja came back in her angry scene where a completely different outfit. The timeline is skewed that is why I read the blogs to figure out what happened. They found her told her the wanted to go. She didn't want to leave yet because she was having too much fun socializing with her "contacts." I'm not sure how much more protected she could have been since she had production with her. ETA: At some point the different women went back to the house without each other. Kristen went back to take a nap. Sonja obviously went back to change clothes. Sonja says in her blog that she was sure that Luann was going to meet her at the last place she went (Siro?), but Luann denies that as she says that they were all wanting to freshen up to go out and enjoy the nightlife. I think when we saw Sonja angry about being "left behind" it was because Luann didn't meet up with her at the last place she went and not because the women abandoned her at the track. -

But this isn't a situation where they just up and left Sonja without checking on her. They told her they were ready to go and Sonja didn't want to leave yet. Sonja even admits this in a round about way in her own blog. Of course she then goes of on a tangent about meeting with her contacts in the winners circle and going somewhere else afterward. But, it wasn't a situation where they just abandoned a drunk friend. -

I think Carole was exercising what Kathy Griffin refers to as "good manners." She was humoring them (especially George) and not saying what she really thought - instead she waited and talked about them behind their backs. Actually, I think Ramona would have fared much better if she had done the same thing. -

Agree. Plus, Carole didn't even really come across as flirty in that conversation so much as "interview" mode. If she had behaved that way with the guy Luann set her up with, it would have been a far less cringe worthy date to watch on television. -

Again, this all came after the filming was wrapped. During the actual episodes NO ONE not even Ramona has said the glass was plastic. It only came after the episode aired a year and a half after it was filmed. -

MatildaMoody replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
This actually has me wondering something. Why haven't any of the women mentioned that the glass was plastic during filming? The reason it stood out is because at the engagement party when the women were discussing how horrible Ramona was, someone actually said "I requested the glasses be plastic" right before Cody was asked if Ramona threw a glass at her. And, yet every episode since the glass throw no one not even Ramona has said that the glass she threw was plastic. -

I would be inclined to believe this if she had actually told Terry "I already told them they couldn't have anymore sweets today" or, "I don't want them to ruin their dinner." Instead, Terry offered the kids a cookie and they got excited then, Heather said no as the kids were getting excited. Then she said something about wanting to set healthy eating standards. It didn't appear as though Heather had said anything prior to Terry having already offered them a cookie. It just looked like she said no after the offer was already made. Which kind of puts Terry in that odd place of, I already said they could have one and now she is saying no. Rather than Heather having already said they couldn't and Terry just went against her wishes. -

Did anyone notice the tense look on Ryan's face towards the end of that dinner. It was like Vicki could see the rage simmering, and that is why she backtracked and started begging him to be patient with her. I could almost here the unspoken, "please don't take this out on my daughter after Ieave." I think that she goes out of her way to placate him for just that reason. Now that they will no longer be living together, she has to be worried about how isolated Brianna is going to be with just Ryan and two small children. -

Heather really bugged me with the cookie thing. For one thing, if your kids can't have a single cookie, why are they in the house? The other thing was 1 cookie is horrible because of bad eating habits, but she can give Coco a cupcake the size of a softball? I just think she hates Terry doing anything with out her permission, especially if it is something that endears him to the kids.
