This opens up a new nitpick for me. What happened to the Independence Inn? Did someone buy it? Did it get torn down and turned into something else? How did the Stars Hollow Historical society rate it as a historical property? Like, were they allowed to tear it down or did it have to stay as it was until it was purchased? And I know this is a very small nitpick because the story was about Lorelai moving forward, but I want to know if The Dragonfly was suddenly the only inn in Stars Hollow or if they had to compete with the new owners of the Independence. Like did Taylor buy the property in his bid to own as much real estate as he could in the town? I mean the Independence was a hub for work and fun and just a staple in the town. What happened to the property? And I get that this is a small nitpick. Like, I would never wonder why we didn't see Jason Bourne go through customs in a Bourne Identity movie - but The Independence Inn was a part of Lorelai's, Sookie's, Rory's, and the town of Stars Hollow's life. There should have been at least a throwaway line about what happened to it after the fire sale.

OMG! I have been following Tamra as some sort of weird case study since her first appearance on the show. She has such definitive patterns in how her relationships work. And wich pattern she follows depends on what type of relationship it is. If it is a female relationship, she will assess whether or not the woman is a threat to her status as attractive (hence all of the hottest housewife BS in her early seasons). If it is a male relationship she will assess what use she can get out of him and find a way to work that to her advantage. That's why she was able to play Simon and Ryan against each other (and Ryan against his bio dad) for so long. If it is strictly among a group of women, she befriends or pretends to befriend everyone only to single out one of them as the target of hatred within the group. It's so cool that you actually used her sociopathy in psychology classes. -

Did Shannon actually buy a scooter though? I broke my ankle almost 4 years ago and I was able to get my scooter for free through my insurance and a note from my orthopedic surgeon. I still have it and consider trying to sell it but haven't gotten around to it yet (plus, they are so inexpensive that I don't know if it would be worth it - I've just loaned it out to friends and friends of friends when needed). Shannon has three athletic daughters and an athletic ex-husband. Since the scooters are adjustable, isn't it possible that it is one they already had and never got rid of? Or, that she, like me, had really good insurance (I mean my insurance wasn't even that great, but it covered things like a scooter or ergonomic crutches)? Or, that someone just loaned her one? I mean, if one of their girls twisted or David had somehow injured their ankle or foot, I would bet their insurance would cover something like this even without a note from an orthopedist. I would also bet that one of her friends who also had athletic children/spouses would also loan her one. Or, maybe she did buy it. But, if she has to be mobile for filming, maybe she thought the cost was worth the reward? And since they are relatively inexpensive (without insurance it would have cost me somewhere around 75-135 dollars brand new when I got mine) the monetary output would be insignificant compared to the cost of missing out on filming, since she does have to earn an income. I am mainly wondering if there is a misconception about these types of scooters. They are as common as crutches and Ace bandages now. A foot or ankle injury, especially in an older person (just so you know my orthopedist considered anyone over the age of 35 to be an "older person" when it came to bones) can take a really long time to heal if not treated correctly. The sooner the person is mobile the more likely they are to be able to resume a normal routine without significant muscle atrophy in the rest of the body from staying immobile and using ice for swelling and medication for the pain. Mainly, these scooters are not very expensive to begin with, and if you have insurance you can usually get the cost covered. More importantly, you can easily borrow or buy one from someone who no longer needs it. I'm sure if I tried to sell mine, I would like get about 50 bucks for it at the absolute most. -

I didn't see WWHL, but I do think it is interesting that Kelly's mother and brother sided with the money when it came down to it. Not saying that Kelly isn't something of a nightmare, but I am starting to think that this was a case where money won out over blood ties. I mean Kelly isn't talking shit about them and she has a national platform to do it. But, the second the posh living accommodations aren't available to them, they have tons of shit to say to the viewing public? -

WOW! That was a major shit show. I don't understand how anyone would talk shit about a teenager like that just to hurt her mom. What is more troubling is that Jennifer knew this girl since childhood and was sitting up claiming to love her. That is just low down! I am at the same time, suffering second-hand embarrassment for that major public scene in a foreign country. I really wish these women would keep their drama local rather than making Americans look that much worse to other countries. I still can't believe that Jackie made it the entire season without showing her ass! That is what is truly insane about all of this. Jackie came off as almost normal this season. I'll have more later, as I just watched the episode and am still parsing through it all. -
Tamra Judge: Naked Wasted
MatildaMoody replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
You are not alone. It was all over the internet from his first appearance. There was even speculation about the guy who adopted him as an adult possibly being his sugar daddy. Frankly, I was surprised that Tamra blamed Vicki because the comments on her BRAVO blog posts (back when they allowed comments) were full of people talking about Eddie being gay. -
S13.E06: Rumors
MatildaMoody replied to Taralightner's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
David was actually arrested and had to take anger management classes. That was public long before Vicki and Shannon had their falling out. Vicki told Kelly (off camera) about a different incident in which Shannon called her claiming that David was being abusive and she was afraid of what he would do to her. Shannon later denied Vicki's account of events because she was still trying to make her marriage work and it also sounded like she was very drunk when she made that call to Vicki. And, I DO firmly believe that Shannon is afraid of his anger. I think that is why she was willing to go for less than the judge allotted her. I also think it's why her mother told her to make sure her attorney walked her to the car after the hearing so that she wouldn't face the brunt of his anger alone. I also think the reason David is prolonging the court battle is that it is about control. The reason he was seething with anger after that court appearance was because he couldn't control what the judge set as appropriate support payments. But he knew that if he was angry enough Shannon would relent just to keep the peace, and he was right. -

YES! It's not just that. She also seems to be aware that her behavior on TV also has repercussions for her relationship and Byron's reputation. If Kristen is SO upset about Byron not seeing her daughter, she needs to take it up with him. She couldn't be bothered to defend CeCe to Jennifer and Evelyn when they were insinuating she was a prostitute. But she thinks that CeCe should plead her case to Byron? Maybe Byron wasn't cool with her kee-kee-ing with Jen and Ev about his fiance being a hooker and Kristen not setting them straight. Maybe, just maybe he doesn't want to deal with that bullshit and is just supporting his wife. -

I don't think that Shannon's history shows her as the kind of person who would never ask how a friend is doing. She was there for Brooks when she thought he had cancer. She helped Tamra during her skin cancer issue. I want to say she helped Mehgan out with some health issue as well - I just can't remember if it was cancer related or not (maybe related to Jim's ex-wife?). I feel like Tamra is exaggerating about this as she is prone to do. From Shannon's blog - bolding mine: Tamra doesn't deal in healthy friendships. She's never had a friendship on this show that she didn't try to torpedo in the same way that she is doing with Shannon. She did it to Vicki, Heather, Gretchen, Alexis, and now Shannon. She percieves a slight, holds on to it, tells everyone else that there is a problem with the friendship and then blows up out of the blue at the person she has an issue with. This leaves the other person confused and defensive. It's really interesting to me that none of the women on the show have ever picked up on her pattern, I think she is really just that good at manipulating situations to her advantage. It's amazing really, imagine what she could do if she were also educated. She'd be an evil mastermind for sure. Edited: My knee scooter was a life saver after I broke my ankle. I was a disaster on crutches and constantly risked making my injury worse. When I found out that they made scooters that could be used instead of crutches, I was elated. It gave me back my mobility while I was healing. -

Are you talking about the issues with Shannon? Because for me, it seems like she is repeating a pattern that we saw with Heather in Shannon's first season - especially when it comes to the Cut Fitness stuff. -

I totally agree. I seriously doubt that Shannon has never asked about Eddie and how he is doing. It just isn't a trait we have seen in Shannon. Even if she is very self-centered, she has shown that she can be really compassionate in a way that sometimes bites her in the ass. I think this is more of Tamra looking for reasons to be mad at Shannon (like the not using Cut Fitness trainers) so that she can create a rift where there really shouldn't be one. It's a great way to catch Shannon off guard while making her the bad guy. I also agree that Tamra most likely spends her part of their conversations talking about her foot injury rather than Eddie. -

MatildaMoody replied to Taralightner's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Tamra can't help herself. This is the exact same BS she tried to pull with Heather in Shannon's first season. Heather did a segment on another gym and even though she actually brought Eddie and Tamra on the show to shill their gym and exercise routine, Tamra wanted to make an issue out of her previously perceived slight. It gave her a reason to try to go after Heather, until Vicki pointed out that Tamra would lose if she did so. It's lather, rinse, repeat with her. -
And thinking about it now, it makes even less sense that Rory never said anything about why Lorelai wasn't there. Because wouldn't most of the conversation that night focus on how excited/nervous Rory would be about starting Yale THE VERY NEXT DAY? I mean there would be only so many topics of conversation the night before Rory went off to college. Did the writers expect us to believe that there was never any time during those 4-6 hours Emily kept her there that Rory never had an opening to tell Emily and Richard (before he went to bed) the reason why Lorelai wasn't there? This was a Rory-centric dinner without Lorelai there to pull focus, and she never once says she still has a million last minute things to take care of but she just didn't want to miss dinner with them. Are we supposed to believe that Richard never once asked her a question about her preparations to attend his alma mater?

I'm actually kind of curious about Malaysia's take on this whole thing. She seems to be siding with Kristen, but I think it's because Kristin is in her ear and she hasn't heard Cece's side of things. I don't follow any of these women in real time so I don't know if she has had a chance to comment on the backstabbing Kristen is doing or if I have to wait for the reunion. -

I tried to watch this but couldn't make it past Evelyn's childish kee-kee-ing with Shaunie and Kristen on the shuttle. I can't believe the bitch had the nerve to say, "she's lucky she's not dealing with the me from four years ago." Why? You still doing the same childish bullying that you pulled on Royce, Tami, and Jennifer. I'm going to probably end up streaming it at work, but I just don't get what the problem with CeCe is. She hasn't done anything except defend herself and her livelihood and Kristen is just a disloyal bitch. I can't believe that she would be so messy about family. -

I agree I don't think that Shannon is stressing negative food behaviors with her daughters. Mainly, I think her daughters get that weight is a struggle for their mom, but don't see it as relating to them. I mean, Shannon has been very vocal about how much she hates exercising, but her daughters are athletes and seem to thrive on being active. I think like many teenage girls they view most of the things their mom does and says with their eyes rolled and a "whatever" attitude. -

I agree. I thought she looked amazing with the afro. It's definitely a good look for her. Yes, I thought that was interesting too. Kristen doesn't seem to understand that she sold CeCe out to be friends with Jen and Ev. So, CeCe walking away from her is what a normal person would do. -

I completely understand the dynamic. My mother is a raging narcissist. I understand that by accepting a gift I am making a deal. So, I refuse to engage. It's something I learned how to do in my teens and 20's. I've seen her play out this dynamic with my siblings and hers. We all accept that this is who she is, but we don't have to be a part of it. Brianna and Michael are well aware of who and what their mother is. They actually play into it to get things they want and detach when they feel like it. Like Michael working for Vicki but then moving without giving his address (basically saying I'll take the cush job and all of the promotions, but you are not allowed in my life). Like Brianna and Ryan taking her up on a free place to live and having the balls to tell her who she can and can't have in her home. Or Brianna eloping and then accepting a wedding that Vicki paid for. I personally believe her kids are every bit as narcissistic as she is and that they play a game of accepting what they want, and either detaching or bitching about the strings. -

I completely agree about Shannon and Tamra! Shannon is very self-centered (even though I do think she can be a real hoot). But Tams? She has been trying really hard for the past couple of years to put on a good front of being a nice person. But man, she really can't hide what's in her nature. She'll be looking for a way to break up any developing friendship between Shannon and Kelly. She is one of those people who can't have more than a certain number of friends without turning on someone. -

While I agree that Vicki is awful, there are plenty of people calling her out for her behavior (online and on television). Ryan is just showing what an ungrateful asshole he is, and I refuse to cheer him on for that. Vicki couldn't facetime with the grandkids one day and that wipes out all of the multiple trips she makes out there to take care of them and give him and Brianna some time away from the kids? Or, the fact that she gave them a free place to live, help with their down payment, and even an opportunity for a job? Ryan can suck it! -
S13.E05: Orange County Hold ‘Em

This just makes me dislike him even more. Considering how much he was willing to take from Vicki in terms of a really nice place to stay, help with their mortgage and free childcare when he was down with his back problems (not to mention that both Ryan and Brianna had absolutely no qualms about Vicki paying for a full-on wedding for them after they eloped). But then again, his unhinged yelling at Lydia's mom showed him to be exactly the type of asshole that would make himself at home in someone else's house and even be prepared to claim that it was his house when the old lady in question had the audacity to ask him who he was, only to turn on the actual homeowner for defending her friend. -
Basketball Wives LA - General Discussion
MatildaMoody replied to Peper81's topic in Basketball Wives LA
I'm going to need Shaunie to step up and question Tami. Tami said that she told Jen she wasn't going to bring up the rumor unless there was proof. Since there was no proof, and Jen had obviously changed her mind about the whole thing, I need Shaunie to ask Tami why she decided to bring it up over a year later without provocation. Because the only reason I see is that Tami wanted to blow up the friendship between Jen, Ev, and Shaunie. If there was a different reason, we should know what it is. Otherwise, Shaunie is full of shit when she says she doesn't know for sure that Tami brought it up to ruin her friendship with Evelyn. Because as much as I dislike Evelyn, she has every right to be pissed that Tami put her on blast for a rumor that she damn well knew wasn't true. Or at the least, she knew there was no proof of it. I don't know if they are going to do a reunion or not, but if they do, the host needs to seriously question this whole situation in a way that makes it clear what exactly Tami's motive was. -
S13.E05: Orange County Hold ‘Em
MatildaMoody replied to Taralightner's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I don't buy this at all. For as much eye-rolling as Brianna did at Vicki, she never had a problem accepting things from her. I mean, she IS Vicki. I suspect her husband, Ryan the abusive Douche, is the reason that she left Orange County. She was in way too big a hurry to get back there for Vicki to really be that big of a problem for her. But, Ryan's behavior was getting a lot of unwanted attention and now she is away from any of her family and her only support system is Ryan and his family. I'm actually a little worried about her being cut off from everyone considering his temper.
