I did wonder about that! Like it's so, so scary, we might get caught and sent to jail, but let's be on a TV show! When our daughter had just turned 4, my in-laws took us all out to an amusement park. They wanted her to say she was a year younger to get in free. I was SO uncomfortable, tried to explain it to her, but being a kid, she just didn't get why something she wasn't supposed to do--lie--was suddenly ok. Not only that, she was proud in the way kids are of having turned 4 recently and had no interest in going backward. I finally gutted up and told the in-laws I was not going to make her fib. Watching all those younguns being told to deny their reality reminded me of this and made me sad.

I shall never tire of hearing Phil's pronunciation of "massaaage at the spaaa." I also thought the detours were absurdly unequal. The "dancing" challenge didn't even involve learning any steps! Most of them seemed to attempt nothing more than a half-hearted shimmy--and why would they when all they had to do was find three words (and not even have to put them in order). Oh well. Normal teenage behavior, in my experience, and not necessarily related to Jazz's gender concerns, hormones she may be taking, or "god knows what else" as you put it. Perhaps do a bit of research into what actually are normal developmental stages of adolescence; "finding yourself" is one of their primary tasks. My cis kid would have happily eaten buffalo dip in bed at 16 if mini crockpots existed then. She also struggled with depression and body image. And getting her license meant getting as much fast food as she wanted. It was a stage. People assign a lot of Jazz's behavior to her being trans based on their own prejudices, IMO.

The Schwartzie narrative stinks of fakery. Half the time Katie was supposed to be upset at the party, she was smiling in the background, and Tom didnt even seem to be TRYING to sell the "I dont remember nuthin" story. I'm sure most of us dont have to be reminded that several of these people fancy themselves "actors", and I guess if you have to publicly trash your brand new marriage to have a juicy storyline, so be it. Jax did have a funny line or two, damn him.
