  1. The next time I need to go to a customer site to make a presentation, I'm going to wear jeans and tell my employer it makes me look "worldly." So I guess Josiah isn't going to college either. None of their kids have gotten any kind of college education. If not for Jim Bob, they'd all be working cashier at McDonalds, considering the education they've received from their parents. I kept hoping Jinger would go, because she seems very smart, but no such luck.
  2. So Josiah is courting: http://www.people.com/article/josiah-duggar-courting-marjorie-Jackson What's up with Jana and John David? Considering how vital it is to this family to be married off, Jana and John David are getting pretty old. I feel worse for Jana, because she's just the family nanny now. At least John David has a job where he gets to leave the house.
  3. There is nothing about Ryan that I find attractive. That sullen stare does not do it for me, and he honestly doesn't seem all that bright. Catelynn and Tyler are responsible for their decisions, but they had misconceptions about adoption during the 16 and Pregnant episode, and while Dawn never seemed to outright lie, she didn't always correct them, and often let them think something that she knew damn well wasn't reality. Amber is a jerk, but Gary baits her by asking if she can pack her own daughter a lunch for school. He likes to get her worked up, and flirt with her to confuse her and keep her as a backup plan. Gary is a douche. If Leah is getting to bed on time, its because of Gary's girlfriend, if the scenes in the show are anything to go by. How Gary keeps getting a girlfriend is beyond me. Also, I think Gary emphasizing the schedule is more about sticking it to Amber than caring about whether his daughter is getting enough sleep.
  4. I felt so sad when Leah said her favorite part of school is eating. I looked at Jabba the Hut Gary, and I feel really bad for Leah. I doubt they're serving her salad at home. Poor kid. I hated when Catelynn tried to justify Carly being known in public by saying that Bentley and the other kids get noticed and harassed all the time, so its no big deal. Its actually really confusing for a small child, who may then grow into a famewhore like Tyler.
  5. Money. Private adoption is a business. And healthy babies are in short supply. Open adoption is a voluntary act on the part of the adoptive parents. The whole idea of an "agreement" is mostly just scam. No one will take Carly from Brandon and Teresa at this point, or force them to allow visitation.
  6. Open adoption agreements are never legally enforceable. Brandon and Teresa had all the power the minute Catelynn and Tyler signed the papers. Brandon and Teresa could have refused to ever see them or let them see Carly, and there's not a single thing they could do about it. Which Dawn never seemed to mention during 16 and Pregnant, if you recall. The only thing forcing them to keep their word is Catelynn and Tyler's fame. Cutting them off would end up broadcast on the Internet for sure. I feel bad for Catelynn and Tyler. I know people like them. They were pretty much doomed the day they were born. I'm a little surprised that Tyler turned out this bad too, because his mother actually seems like she has her act together. I would love to hear more about what made her be with Butch.
  7. I think Tyler and Catelynn were misled about the reality of open adoption. In the their original 16 and Pregnant episode, it never seemed like Dawn was telling them the real truth about how life would be after they gave up their daughter. Tyler and Catelynn were a gift in Dawn's lap, two stupid, uninformed teenagers with no real parental support. Catelynn seems to have gotten a clue since then, but Tyler has not. The Internet is full of birth parent stories just like theirs. I knew the "open" adoption was bogus when they weren't allowed to even know their birth daughter's last name or what state she lives in. It doesn't really matter that Tyler posted the video. If it wasn't for the show and the publicity, Brandon and Teresa would have cut off contact a long time ago. After the show is done, Tyler and Catelynn won't be seeing Carly. Especially if they start referring to their second baby as her "sister". You can see that Brandon and Teresa already want out of the whole thing.
  8. I said that because it is almost impossible to put your child on a reality show unless the other parent agrees to it, and I just don't see any other reason why Ryan would have consented to appear and let Bently appear other than money. Ryan looks so miserable it is impossible to believe he signed up for fun. So I'm thinking Maci had a way to twist his arm and make him do it, and the only motivation would be saving money or making more money, or both. I'm sure they both had to re-sign contracts for the reboot of the show. And it seemed pretty obvious that at least Ryan's mom is worried about the effect of "fame" of Bentley, so I'm sure they weren't pushing him to sign. I just hope Maci graduates college. That would make her the only teen mom other than Chelsea to achieve any higher skill or higher education.
  9. After watching this episode, all I want to know is how much of a reduction in child support Ryan got for allowing Bently to appear on the show. That's the only reason he would have signed the consent form, along with getting some extra money for himself. And you could tell Ryan's mom was against the idea. Maybe Catelynn and Tyler can get married and go on Celebrity Marriage Bootcamp. Since they're having yet another baby with no obvious job skills besides reality personality. Have they learned nothing from Jon Gosselin??
  10. Real acting, the art of becoming another person, is work. Hard work. I knew Nene was not serious about having a real acting career when she turned down her manager's suggestion of an acting class or acting coach last season. Nene just wants to show up and get paid and be famous and hang out with important people. She was right to head back to Bravo reality. She doesn't have the drive or stamina to carve out a quality acting career.
  11. I have no problem with the spinoff show, although I doubt I'll watch it. I just find it amusing that after all Nene's gloating about how she's an ACTRESS now, and how she's on Broadway and she's going to Hollywood, what is Nene doing? Another Bravo reality show. Maybe she should have taken her agent's advice and tried the acting classes. Or at least come down to planet Earth and be a little more humble, and stop acting like she's Halle Berry. At the end of the day, Nene Leakes is a reality star. And there's nothing wrong with that, but she needs to stop acting like the Academy Award is coming any minute.
  12. If nothing else, that was super entertaining. I can't wait for next week to see Nene continue to attack the therapist she hired herself to fix other people. Nene started out with an interview saying she and Kenya would never be friends. Then she dissed Kenya. Then in therapy, she says she will never be Cynthia's friend either. And we know she and Kandi aren't friends, so why was Nene even there? I did find it interesting that Porsha never spoke up to defend Nene. I would love to have heard Nene's family sessions. I wonder if she acts the same way with Gregg and her kids, always right and always telling everyone else what their problem is. I noticed that Kenya acted very professional and composed during the therapy. I think she knew Nene would hang herself if Kenya just gave her enough rope. Kandi wanders the earth crying, oblivious to how many people are annoyed with her and why. I was embarrassed for her when her own husband couldn't think of positives in their relationship. I almost felt like Todd did that to her on purpose to stick it to her on camera.
  13. In any other intervention show with a "professional" internventionist, the questioning of the addict stops as soon as they agree to go to treatment. The goal is to get them to treatment, and as soon as they say okay, you start moving them towards the nearest car to get to them to rehab before they have a chance to change their mind. Dr. Phil kept talking and looping around long after Nick said he would go to treatment. They were stringing it along on purpose to get a full hour of content to show on television. As much as Nick was psycho and may even have some mental illness going on, Dr Phil really exploited him bad. Nick came off as a crazy drug addict on national television, and the whole world is going to remember him jumping up and down, rambling and crying, and threatening to hurt himself. Dr. Phil really doesn't care about the people he claims to be trying to help. As for Nick having a job, I suspect he was part of Whitney's entourage, and as someone suggested above, probably her drug fetcher as well. I bet she mostly supported him financially.
  14. I disagree. There's more going on there. Todd has been married 6 months, and not only does he not want to come home from Los Angeles EVER, he has no real interest in sex with his new wife. It takes a lot for a guy to turn away sexually. The marriage is doomed. I think the real problem is that Todd is Mr. Kandi and can't handle it. She makes way more money and can't relinquish any control to him. And her employees mock him. And Kandi doesn't really respect him or his ideas. You can tell the way she looks at him. He's more like a hobby than a partner. She doesn't ever treat him as equal, and that has nothing to do with her mother. I think she does love him, but she looks down on him too.
  15. I think Janelle summarized this entire situation when she said "I'm trying to reach for the logic here." A huge hidden WTF if ever there was one. I love her.
  16. They're going to be on Oprah: http://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/kody-brown-sister-wives-open-up-about-bigamy-arrest-fears-video-201563
  17. If I remember correctly, the "bullying" came about because the other kids said Robyn's two daughters were whiny and immature. They basically came in like stepchildren, but Robyn tried to act like it was a regular intact family and not a blended one. It still doesn't seem like they've bonded much with their "siblings", beyond the other kids being nice to Dayton about getting back on the 4 wheeler. There's a definite indifference there between the kids which mirrors how the wives treat each other. I wonder if part of her wanting to be the legal wife has to do with the painfully obvious truth that she never fully bonded into the Brown family. I think she's desperate to belong, and this may be her way of doing it. Maddie's annoyed and indifferent look when Robyn was asking questions about her changing religions said it all. I think the divorce is the same as the "escape" to Las Vegas. A lot of hyped up drama, with maybe a very small kernel of truth in there somewhere. Jessop may have been a crappy husband. And Utah did investigate the Browns. But neither event was so bad that it warrants the level of hysteria and dramatic decisions the Brown adults keep making.
  18. They state a lot of things on this show that are clearly not true, and I think this is one of them. Within the next 2 to 3 years, Janelle may only have 2 kids left at home. She has the most earning potential, and she has two adult kids who show clear signs of wanting nothing to do with the lifestyle they were raised in. Janelle may be the one to walk out the door. And I think it would be a cold day in hell before Robyn let Janelle be guadian of her kids. There is no warmth between them at all, except on the day Robyn gave birth to Solomon. And everyone gets emotional around a new baby, so that didn't mean much.
  19. Beyond this ridiculous divorce, is there any evidence of anyone trying to "make an adoption happen"? Did the divorce and remarriage happen months ago? They don't seem to be in much of a hurry, when they made it sound on television like Robyn could die any minute and her children would be swept away by Satan. This reminds me of the great flight to Las Vegas. Lots of hysteria, with no real reasons behind it.
  20. Did anyone else notice the horrible, cheesy music during this episode? It was supposed to emphasize the SACRIFICE of Meri, like Jesus on the cross. Except they start out the episode with Meri saying she has no idea whether divorcing Kody and Kody marrying Robyn would actually bring about an adoption, because it doesn't appear that anyone has bothered to find out if Daddy Jessop would give up his rights. And we get the shots of Robyn crying, and Meri crying, and Kody fake acting surprised and worried, and the freakin' music to make it sound like this all some sad reality they have to face because they have no other choice to SAVE Robyn's children.I wonder if the producers chose that music to mock them on purpose.
  21. The Sister Wives tweets are all about how much they love their sister wives. But their behavior and words on their own show that they have partial control over doesn't reflect that. Their behavior on the show reflects that Robyn and Meri are close, Janelle is totally disconnected emotionally and often physically, and Christine is an emotional mess who had to move her mother in to get household help when she has THREE Sister Wives, one of whom has no children left at home. Nothing about this show depicts the bond they're claiming to have between the 4 of them. Kody tweets that Meri is still first wife. But on the show, Meri doesn't appear to have been first in anything except buying house upgrades for a very long time. She sure as hell doesn't appear to be the lead wife in that household.
  22. Christine has a supportive aunt who left polygamy, and a mother who I suspect dislikes it more than she lets on to her daughter and son-in-law. Christine would have help. And she only has 4 kids left at home, The oldest two are out and I suspect that either there is TLC money, or they have student loans. It would be hard, but Christine can leave if she wants to.
  23. When did they buy the houses? When they were closing on the houses and Meri was acting all hysterical over Mariah's immature hysterics because they hadn't move in yet, Robyn and Kody drove the kids to Montana. I assumed that was to visit their dad and his family. I know this show is screwed up time-wise, but how long ago was that? Not to mention, two of Robyn's 3 kids with Jessop are almost grown. Aurora seems very attached to Kody, and Dayton seems content where he is. So she would only have to worry about the youngest child. Its really stupid.
  24. I haven't watched it yet. What was Christine's reaction this crap? And did they show the honeymoon, or does that make it look too bad? More than anything, I just hope all these women have their homes and mortgages in their own names, and their bank accounts in their own names. I really hope that Janelle especially was smart enough to keep Kody's name off her finances. That way, if he dies, she is not under Robyn's thumb as Robyn goes about dividing up Kody's assets. I'm still hoping that Meri is slowly pushing away from this marriage so that she can eventually bail and go live near Mariah in Utah. Getting a legal divorce would be the first step.
  25. If that was true, it would have been the focus of the entire season. Instead we got 2 minutes about it in the last episode, and then just this episode, which is the season finale. TLC would have spent a lot more time on it if they knew about it ahead of time. Unless they're going to go into the next season pretty quickly and cover it there, before no one cares anymore.
