I remember screaming and hair pulling all the way back to the days of Sheree and Kim. And there was one really nasty fight on a trip. And Nene was always there, right in the middle of it. There has been a trip with a fight every single season on this show. And Nene is generally around for it and participating in it. Puerto Rico is not unique. And Nene was nasty this time from the moment she got off the plane. The women on this show who appear to never have a job at all are Kenya and Porsha. Kenya pretends to have a job, but nothing ever happens. Porsha barely tries to cover that she's a sugar baby.

What happened to Meri going back to school and enjoying her life? That just disappeared.

I watched the rest of the episode last night. When Kody was having a supposedly serious conversation with Christine about their issues, did anyone else notice how many times Kody mentioned his balls and also having fun? He's such a 5 year old. I don't give Christine a pass, because she is a drama queen, but Kody is impossible to have a reasonable, adult conversation with. He was totally focused on the effect asking for an apology would have on his "manhood." He paid no attention to what Christine was trying to communicate about how offended she was by the comment. Personally, I think the main issue is that Christine is actually dedicated to their religion, while the other 4 are not so much interested in their religion. Especially Kody.

This is also why Nene is currently friends with dumb-dumb Porsha, and why she used to be friends with Cynthia. She likes people who fawn over her and agree wtih everything she says. When Claudia went after her, Nene had nothing substantial to defend herself with. So she called Claudia a half-breed whore instead. Becuase the truth is that Nene is still solidly on the D-List as a celebrity, somewhere about 2 steps below a supporting actor on a CBS procedural. She gets invited to events because the promoters need extra celebrities, but the only real jobs she's gotten are reality shows and cameos in live shows. The New Normal and the stint on Glee haven't rolled into better acting parts. Claudia pointed that out, and Nene had no solid comeback. Burn!! That being said, I suspect that Claudia is a crazy famewhore herself, and that is just the reality show honeymoon period.

Bravo needs to try a little harder too. During one scene, they had Nene providing commentary. When they switched back and forth, Nene was wearing a different outfit and a different (still hideous) wig, which means there is no way she provided that commentary for that single scene all in one sitting. And no Nene, that hotel room is not small. Your ass is just too huge to fit into it. Since the beginning of the season, Nene seems threatened by Claudia. I noticed that she avoids Kandi often as well. I think she can't handle being around women who are currently as or more sucessful than she is. Claudia has a job and prospects, so Nene is jealous. Cynthia was okay because she's just a has-been, and Porsha is a useless sugar-baby who kisses Nene's ass. Phaedra needs to avoid picking on anyone while she's sitting there waiting for her husband to get sent up the river. Marrying a felon is not a step-up from spending 8 years with a guy who won't marry you.

My Sister Wife's Closet and Other Brown Family Business Ventures
Kellyee replied to CofCinci's topic in Sister Wives
I can't be too hard on Robyn because at least she's doing something for the business. What are the others doing to make any money? Do any of them have a real job at this point? No decent investor will give them any money, because they've been at this a while and the business hasn't turned any kind of profit. Internet traffic doesn't equal anything unless you're just making money off advertisements on your Web site. -
My Sister Wife's Closet and Other Brown Family Business Ventures
Kellyee replied to CofCinci's topic in Sister Wives
I just checked out their Web site for the second time ever. It does look like they made it look a bit better, at least a bit more professional. But they're not selling anything you would want to go to the trouble of ordering online and having shipped to you. The stuff they're selling is a very difficult business. Jewelry and clothes can be bought anywhere, and their stuff isn't unique in a good way. Given all the discount and high end jewelry places out there, they will never make a profit on this. They should make funny t-shirts about wet bars or something instead. I would totally buy one of those. -
Except that Janelle is only stuck in her own head. She has enough education and job skills that she could leave again if she wanted. She only has 4 kids left at home, and Kody would have to pay some kind of child support. If Janelle was really that miserable and actually got motivated, she could find a job and save some money and leave as soon as Hunter goes to college, leaving her with only 3 kids left to house. She could totally do it. She doesn't leave because she doesn't really want to. I don't think its as bad as they try to make it seem. Kody is probably correct that they go long stretches with little interaction between them. When they're not filming, they probably go a whole week without seeing each other. Christine said at one point that her kids go 6 days or more without seeing Kody.
-
As much as they try to fake it, these are 4 families sharing one husband. The kids from certain families are very close to each other, but the wives are more like sisters who hate each other secretly but can't get away from each other. The resources will never be equally divided. Maddie seemed thrilled just to escape. I would love to hear her expand on what she saw in plural marriage that makes her be so against it. And yet Janelle stayed and made 6 kids. I found it very telling that NO ONE went after her when she was upset. Not just Kody, but none of the wives went to talk to her. And when Truely was really sick, it was Aspyn who picked up the slack for Christine, not any of the other wives.
-
Hey Kody, maybe Maddie's not close to you because you were too busy making other babies to pay her any attention as a small child. Maybe you should learn from that and stop making more babies and concentrate on the kids you have now. Just a thought. Janelle is smart, but she's also a martyr, just like the rest of the Brown parents. Are we really going to have a whole season where Janelle blames Meri for crap that happened 20 years ago? It was so awful, but she still made 6 kids with Meri's legal husband. Janelle could go out and get a job any time she wants, and do her own thing. She doesn't have any toddlers at home, and she's not even legally tied to Kody. Janelle could do whatever she wants, but she sits and whines and goes to therapy to confront Meri about nothing. I wonder if Maddie is running away and starting a job right away because she doesn't want to end up sad and stuck like her mother. I would love to hear what these kids really think about their parents' marriages. So 5 kids have now moved out. The 4 large houses are emptying out pretty fast. If they really do have mortgages, what a ridiculous waste of money and space. The Browns need to go on Shark Tank so someone can explain to them that jewelry and clothing is an incredibly difficult business to break into, and probably not worth the effort for the profit they'll actually make. Especially if they're not bringing anything new to the table and are just selling stuff from other vendors.
-
Janelle's kids seem more eager to escape the family than the other kids. Logan didn't come home very often in past seasons, and now Maddie can't wait to escape Las Vegas and go back to Utah. I wonder if that reflects Janelle's own level of unhappiness and embarrassment over the behavior of her extended family. Good for Robyn refusing to have another spawn of Kody while being forced to hold up the Sister Wives Closet thing by herself. What are the others doing for work??? And are we ever going to see Meri use her desperately needed wet bar?

S07.E08: Tea With A Side Of Squashed Beef
Kellyee replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Yeah, but I really liked Kandi too at first, for a long time. I have come to believe that no one who is truly likeable and not messed up signs up for this type of reality television. So Claudia is either crazy or a famewhore. Time will tell. -

I have no sympathy for Todd. None. He married a woman who was totally okay with her mother spreading nasty rumors about him being a gold digger and even a cheater. Todd knew what he was marrying into. He knew his new mother-in-law was nasty and manipulative and that his new bride accepted it and expected everyone else to put up with it. I feel bad for Sharon that she has such a weak son. Todd made the common mistake of thinking that things would be better later. Shit never rolls up hill, only down hill. I hope they stay infertile, for the unborn baby's sake. -
TLC must be dropping their already low standards for what they air. Not only was it obviously not Christmas, it didn't even look like winter outside. I saw the first promo for this show at least a good 2 months ago, so I'm thinking early fall or late summer. You could tell they were not cold, outside in skimpy outfits in West Virginia while faking like its December. I also noticed that Kayla's oldest daughter Danielle was nowhere to be seen. She was pissed at Kayla for the separation on the season finale, so I'm wondering if she's not speaking to her or something. The only intelligent thing ever said on this show (said by Nettie): Mellie should get her tubes tied.

Dean is not the good guy. MaryJo was right that's he's exhausting. Dean is a serial cheater who uses claims of drug addiction and threats of suicide to control the people around him. In practical terms, he comes off as a better parent than Tori, but he's still a jerk. He's incredibly manipulative and rather smart, where Tori is stupid and just acts out and melts down. He wanted his creepy friend from rehab to be the new babysitter.

S07.E06: Make-ups and Breakdowns
Kellyee replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
On the one hand, Peter should be more supportive of Cynthia. And Peter is a douche in general. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that Nene is one of those exhausting friends who demands complete loyalty and attention at all times. If Cynthia wants to maintain her friendship with Nene, she needs to be prepared to eject anyone Nene doesn't get along with from her life. And she better remember to kiss Nene's ass, and show up at all Nene's events, and never contradict anything Nene says. I can see where being friends with Nene leaves one with very little time or energy for sex. And Cynthia's runway days are over. She lacked the finesse and energy of the other models. She just looked very flat and lifeless as she was walking. Kandi is an abused daughter, who has been in the abusive relationship for so long that she doesn't even see it anymore. That's why she doesn't see the very big deal of being called a whore on national television. Kandi allows mommy to beat up on her, so she thinks everyone else should just allow it too. None of the marriages on this show have any long term potential. -
S07.E06: Make-ups and Breakdowns
Kellyee replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
If Sharon had called Mama Joyce a whore, there would have been no forgiveness. Ever. Kandi needs other people to start refusing to be in the room with Mama Joyce. As much as Kandi is responsible for putting up with her mother's crap, everyone else takes it too. If Kandi started getting cut off from everyone her mother abuses, she might wise up.- 205 replies

I would go even farther than that. I would not be at all surprised if the whole pig thing was staged, and there was an animal handler waiting just out of the frame to take the pig back from Tori when the scenes were done. Someone upthread who raises pigs said the pig seemed big for being only 5 days old. After all, how did Tori just happen to stumble upon a slaughterhouse on her way back from vacation? Did she and her friends decide to take a tour? It never made any sense. And the farmer wouldn't sell her the pig unless she was willing to pay as much money as he would make off the pig later. I have no problem with MaryJo doing the interview and making some money. Tori had no problem talking all about MaryJo in her books. And they invited MaryJo on to bring drama to their otherwise boring-ass show.

The most disturbing part of this whole hospital thing was how OBVIOUS it was that Tori was not all that sick and was totally doing it for attention. If you're really that sick, you're not still putting on the fake eyelashes. I think Dean is right and Tori lives for the drama and needs to be center of attention. When she was crying about not being able to do that appearance, she was not sick. That cough was the fakest thing I ever heard. Has anyone read the In Touch magazine interview with MaryJo yet? I want to go get that. MaryJo says that Tori needs rehab even more than Dean, and is a total hoarder.
-
Not taking Tori's side, but if she gives up reality television, what will she do for work at this point? Jon Gosselin ended up in a shack with no electricity working at some restaurant in the woods. I don't really know what else Tori can do for work at this point. After reality television, it isn't all that easy to get anyone to take you seriously. And as much as Dean complains, its Tori's reality and books that are paying for his expensive hobbies and their 4 kids. I see Dean complaining, but I don't see him coming up with alternatives or working on a family budget to prove they can survive without the famewhoring.
-
This show didn't ruin Tori's acting career. Tori has no acting career because Tori has very little acting talent, and the competition for acting roles for is huge. Tori had a good thing going with the cutesy reality shows and the books that were funny, even if they sometimes said mean things. She should have stuck with that. People mostly liked her, despite the cheating. She came across as relatively real and likeable. She could have made a living as a likeable reality person whose husband cheated on her once but they worked through it. So maybe the show did ruin any chances for a more cutesy reality show, but I doubt it. There are people who would still watch Tori has a likeable single mom.

Nene was playing it up for the cameras in that group scene. The over the top personality is her thing. I don't think she was even genuinely going off on Cynthia. She was just going for air time. I thought Cynthia at least showed some class. If my husband's mother called my mother a whore, there would be no forgiveness for a very, very long time. And I certainly wouldn't expect my mother to make nice with a woman who called her a whore and never apologized. Kandi just expects everyone to put up with Mama Joyce's crap, no matter how bad it gets. She destroyed that house on purpose, like a dog chewing up newspapers because its owner left it alone too long. It was totally revenge/jealousy for Kandi marrying Todd, and Kandi just takes it up the ass. Its becoming hard to watch. Considering Phaedra is married to a felon, she really shouldn't be placing moral judgements on other people. I still remember how she was knocked up out of wedlock and then tried to lie about the date she got pregnant to cover it up. That being said, Kenya was inappropriate with Apollo on several occasions.

This whole thing is made up. Last season, when Tori was in the hospital, Dean took care of all 4 kids with only the help of a friend or two, plus the nannies we never got to see before this episode. Tori never said anything about worrying about how the kids were being taken care of. Yet, now we're supposed to believe that she has all this super anxiety over leaving the kids with Dean. Two of the kids are in school all day, and the other two are in school or daycare at least part of the time. And they have at least the one nanny to help. And I'm wondering who rehab chick is that Dean is so insistent on getting her a job inside their house. They said she had interviewed for a job there before as well. I think Dean is a multiple cheater and I would wonder about this "friend". And what is this friend up that she never got another job in between and is just endlessly hanging out, waiting for Dean to find her a job? The whole Candy and Tatum thing was bizarre, but super entertaining. Tatum was totally high.
-
At the "peak" of his career, Dean was a D-list working television movie actor. Nothing wrong with that, but Dean acts like he used to win Academy Awards. And his acting isn't really all that swell. In earlier reality series, it sounded like he did better at voice-over work, which he can still do if he gets his act together. I found it really amusing that Dean just now figured out that people are laughing at him and mocking this show. And I'm on Team MaryJo about Dean's "addiction". I think it is more for the attention than anything else. Any time Dean might have to take responsibility for anything, his face goes in his hand and he goes to the "dark place", so that no one can keep questioning him. Is it really possible that Dean didn't know the true intention of Tori's meeting with MaryJo beforehand? Since this whole show seems to be Dean's punishment and under Tori's control, I wouldn't be totally surprised if she worked that out with producers and didn't tell Dean. Of course, Dean is a moron if he didn't guess what would actually get discussed. They didn't pay your ex $10k to discuss child discipline issues.

S07.E02: No Moore Apollogies
Kellyee replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Just finished watching the episode. Apollo is a douche in sheep's clothing. I think he lied mostly to stick it to Phaedra.
