  1. Vicki might have gifted them with the rent money. I lived with my grandmother during the week for about a year. She charged me rent and put it in a savings account. I got it years later - it was a nice little tidy sum! Thanks grams!
  2. What was the shocking news? That the stone was morganite?
  3. I wouldn't say this is a favorite commercial of mine but it's clever: http://indulgd.com/probably-the-scariest-commercial-you-will-ever-see/
  4. Egg dyeing is a tradition in my family on both sides and while I never eat the eggs, the olds do - they make egg salad out of them. Coming from a service family (doctors, nurses, policemen, firemen), it's so true that they don't get every holiday off because people need them. And no-one in my family begrudged them their service. I am sure the egg hunt people are used to kids with 15 eggs in the basket. I did think it was cute when Will upgraded his basket so he could get more. Would I have stopped him? Yes. But it would be a great story to regale him with at his wedding. Bill states in his TH that Zoey ate some berries too but that she picked more than she ate. I'm not a fan of the peep but I do love me some candy corn. True. My brother says "thanks for being a good listener" when his kids stop bad behavior. I just squirt them with a water gun. More effective in my opinion. And zero calories! Yes it is. As is running around, screaming, getting dirty etc etc. Then crashing due to exertion. My brother and I were reminiscing the other day about the strawberry festivals we went to as kids with our grandmother. There were strawberries in many forms, games and lots of hills to run up & down. Jen saw the sign. She commented on it. Jen probably felt it wasn't worth a meltdown and just tried to redirect Will into more picking, less eating. Anyone who has gone apple picking has seen the signs and also has seen kids taking huge bites out of apples. What parent doesn't think their kid is the brightest? I don't know any. Everyone thinks their kid is a genius or has some special talent. Almost none of them are.
  5. Maybe the husband has his life insurance through Colonial Penn instead of MetLife and therefore, there's no big pay-out? TD Bank's "fiscal lube" commercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1GqHCJjNjA&index=9&list=PLTU0DAa2Moxy_aaWrVPR-964SMpHE7M8w Is the checking chamber mechanic the woman in Portlandia?
  6. Harry doesn't have any money of his own - his parents pay his bills. I think Sonja likes dating him but there's no money to marry, just expense account money.
  7. Cody is earning every penny of it. I can't imagine how much it would take. I thought Ramona was going to say that George was a parental substitute. I believe it's a plot line that Cody is being paid for but I don't think it's Bravo engineered. More like thought up by Aviva and George. I checked out Cody's twitter when she first appeared on the show and there were some George posts. I hope she's being well compensated for this. I know I feel like I should be compensated for watching it!
  8. I loved Chopped the first couple hundred seasons. It was must see TV for me and my friends. We'd grab a big glass of red wine and watch together -- sometimes we had to 'meet' over the phone. Now, I just don't get as excited. Don't know if I am Chopped Out or if it's becoming boring.
  9. I'd prefer the chef that makes the best dishes win. But that's not Chopped.
  10. Reminds me of Kyle and Portia. Terry and Heather deserve each other. Both are condescending pricks. Terry is always poking at Heather because she is so uptight. I don't think I could stand to be around them. I think the major difference between Shannon and Heather is Shannon drinks.
  11. I've seen those trains too in the multi-level indoor malls in NY. The ones I've seen are just a few cars and go super slow. They should do them in the outdoor malls. I might hop aboard to get to the parking lot.
  12. Exactly! Though seriously, stop mentioning Gretchen and Alexis. Tamra and to some extent Vicki wanted to marginalize those 2 yet here they are, bringing them up in a new season.
  13. Caroline does shave her face every day so there's that.
  14. Vicki moved to CA to be with Donn. Her lover that she was screwing while she was married to her children's father. Her eyes do look extra small and squinty. Maybe botox too close to get rid of crows feet?
  15. TLC isn't going to cancel the show if people don't comment on it. If people are posting in an effort to 'save' the show, they can 'save' their keystrokes. Will is going through a tough phase. I've had a lot of exposure to toddlers personally and professionally. I don't see anything alarming. Should he be biting, hitting or wearing diapers at age 3 (when this was filmed)? No. Is that unusual for kids his age? No. Is it the norm? No. Some times boy are slow to potty train. And some times they regress when a younger sibling comes along. It usually corrects itself within a year and/or when they go to school. I don't agree with gender based play but it's pretty endemnic in our society. While I play cars with my nieces & nephews, I also buy frilly stuff for the girls and rugged stuff for the boys. I try not to make my compliments solely about looks for girls and smarts for boys. It's going to be a change that takes a few generations to break. I am not going to fault Jen for 1 time having a tea party with Zoey. The only way to know what kids will like is to offer/try. If Jen forced Zoey to dress up every day and have high tea with her every night, then I'd say she was venturing into Mommy Dearest territory. Of course Will responds better to Bill. Bill is home with him all day. Bill plays with him. It's really not much more than that. I find Jen to be stiff. Part of that is her spinal issues. She physically has a hard time turning her neck which makes her look stiff. Jen is also type A, very driven, very goal oriented. I do hope that she relaxes a bit and enjoys the process. I also realize that Jen has a lot on her plate. A full time job, a cancer diagnosis and treatment, 2 toddlers adjusting to a new country, and the show. That's a lot for anyone. So if Jen wants to dress Zoey up, she's not the first mom and she won't be the last.
  16. Sorry I missed it. And sorry I am going to miss Bob's only NY appearance as I'll be away. Per Bob's Facebook page, here are his upcoming shows: 6/28/14 Atlantic City, NJ Harrah's 6/29/14 Englewood, NJ Bergen Performing Arts Center 8/16/14 Peekskill, NY Paramount Hudson Valley 8/17/14 Lancaster, Pa American Music Theater 9/26/14 Modesto, CA Gallo Center for the Arts 11/13/14 Great Falls, MT Mansfield Theater 11/15/14 BC, Canada River Rock Casino 2/20/15 Palm Desert, CA McCallus Theatre for the Performing Arts
  17. I was thinking of Poltergeist with 'the light' reference. Who knows with Vicki though. Baby Troy is very comfortable with Vicki so I don't buy Briana's recent assertions that Vicki doesn't help out. I thought in the first season with Ragey Ryan, he was entertaining joining Vicki's insurance company once he finished his 10 years. I didn't care for either house they showed us. The first one reminded me of Casa Olive Garden - that investment house that Jeana was selling for Vicki. The second one was in the middle of nowhere which if Briana really wants all the neighborhood kids over, it looks like she'll have to drive them. Sharon is a blonde Heather. That's not a compliment.
  18. Bob interviews a bunch of looneys, I mean psychologists for an assistant position --- harder than when they try to find a temp for Carol. Bob's college professor applies for the job and takes over. Emily shows off the new alarm system which features recordings of a barking dog and James Cagney as a cop. There's been a few nods to apartment crimes over the few seasons of this show. I was looking up the area on Trulia last week and a few blocks north of the Hartley's apartment is rated as very high crime. Perhaps it was back then too.
  19. There's a commercial for PBA and I thought it was an old TBS or Comedy Central commercial:
  20. Supposedly Jean Kasem was trying out for the show last year. Bet the producers wish they had signed her instead of Carlton! What a whackadoodle - throwing raw burger meat at her stepdaughter because it's in the bible.
  21. Maybe PV with Sandra and PV with Eqypt?
  22. This shows exactly why you can't have hanger-ons work for you. These people aren't really her friends. They are leeches. Are there any scenes of them working hard? Carmon saying she doesn't want to do something. Bitch please. Make your own money then. When you work for someone as a personal assistant, you do their bidding. You don't get to pick and choose what you do. And while Todd may seem out of line, Kandi is obviously bitching up a storm about these lazy fools to him. No different than Kim and her hanger-ons.
