Whereas the other 7 below are not necessarily acting on current TV projects any more. They have a better overall resume & name recognition but if you look at TV 2016-17, I can't attach their names to TV projects. Link to comment

I recently read an interview with Matthew Perry that he is focusing on his life outside of TV acting. I know he has taken up writing. And I think that he is in a recent stage play. Agents of SHIELDS is barely making it and I think she only had a guest bit on that show in 1 episode many seasons ago. She's not part of any other Marvel TV show. I don't know if that's because of where they both grew up (i.e. Toronto vs. Vancouver). Western Canadians sound more like people from the Western U.S. than their equivalents in the East, IMO. 5 Link to comment

Years later I was told by the mother of my then best friend that in seventh grade I walked around using an English accent the whole time. I've just been watching Ryan Robbins do low German on Pure after his southern Conklin on Arrow last season. I learned English in nursery school where my teacher was from English so I spoke with an English accent through till my teens. When I learned French, I reverted to my first tongue and spoke French with a Hungarian accent. By that time my first language was so bad that In Hungary, I was asked what obscure village I came from. I do not believe Oliver's instant facility with languages one little bit. 4 Link to comment

But when I lived in America, I didn't pick up on their accent at all, I think because I just can't say A, R or H the same way they tend to. I didn't even realise how strong my accent was until I lived in America, I eventually got by enough by making my accent almost British, but it was hard to stop all the slang. But when I visited Sth Carolina on holiday it was hilarious I would ask a question about a hamburger and a waitress would bring me a glass of Apple juice. They had no idea what I was saying and just guessed. Do Emily and Stephen need a certain type of visa to work on Arrow, or because it's filmed in Canada is it considered a Canadian show? In high school, I worked at Pizza Hut, and got a guy that called and quizzed me on all the toppings, plus some weird ones, so I was forced to say the words: pineapple, capers, pimentos, etc. At the end of the call he told me he didn't want to order a pizza, but instead he was a linguist who always called the local pizza place when he traveled to get the dialect, and he said I had no discernible accent--he couldn't figure out where I grew up.I think living in all those placed on the east and west coasts made me lose regional inflection. That said, my Mom is from Canada, and her east coast New Brunswick and Newfoundland family have a super-heavy Canadian accent--they even end sentences with "eh"--but the ones in British Columbia have no discernible accent. You might be surprised how much you might have picked up not while not even noticing. I mean you might have kept the more overt accents but flattened some of the sounds over all, but it would take probably someone that really knew your voice well from before to even know it. emarasmoak January 23, 2017 Share January 23, 2017 (edited) Spanish woman living in the West of Scotland here (where locals speak with quite an strong accent - think Glaswegian). My accent while speaking in English is weird as my teachers during school and high school mostly had an American accent but I have been living in Scotland for several years now. Natives know that I am a foreigner with some Scottish sounds. Scots are unable to guess where I am from - I have been asked if I am Bulgarian or Dutch. No, I don't believe Oliver's proficiency in Russian or Chinese either. They’re particularly bad when compared to 2015, which was arguably their banner year – 2015 gave us the couple’s first time having sex, numerous “OMFG our hearts are exploding” declarations of love, and, of course, their eventual proposal. But then, tragedy struck. First, Felicity was (briefly) paralyzed thanks to Damien Darhk. Then, there was the entire nonsensical “Oliver’s secret son” debacle. In the end, Olicity broke up and haven’t reunited since. To make things even worse, Oliver accidentally killed Felicity’s boyfriend Billy in the midseason finale. The one couple I'm really rooting for will probably get killed in this round. It's only at 15% and up against an aggressive fanbase since it's a show I've never even heard of and yet made this list. As of this post 20% ranked it the highest level and 60% as awful. I understand 80% of the voters (some parts of the show might have been good enough or not bad enough for people) - even if I only agree with 60% of them. I think the 20% that loved it may just be diehard fans who are going to love it no matter what. Or perhaps people who have never seen a well-written & well-acted "very special episode" that addresses political/social issues. Honestly, maybe this was some of the audience's first exposure to a gun violence/gun control conversation. So for them, it probably seemed better than "awful". I also don't think whether you liked the episode or not falls on political lines. The topic was political, but the show was an awful mess regardless of people's personal politics & opinions on gun violence/control.
