I don't get it. I like Grant, but why isn't Stephen nominated for the actor category? Stephen has to play Oliver different in so many ways.

IMO, because Barry gets to cry in every episode.

The Saturn Awards are part pro, part fan (fans can join the organization, nominate and vote for them for a $25 to $40 fee) and Flash is the more popular show. I don't have a problem with that, though it would have been nice if that popularity had carried over to Candace Patton.

I'm more irked that Sharknado 3 appears anywhere on this list.

GB was one of the honorees at the Family Equality Council's Impact Awards on Sat., Mar. 12...

Greg Berlanti Tells Emotional Coming Out Story at Family Equality Council’s Impact Awards
David S. Cohen MARCH 13, 2016 | 04:31PM PT
http://variety.com/2016/scene/vpage/family-equality-council-impact-awards-greg-berlanti-1201729042/

At the podium, all three honorees were emotional as they accepted their awards, especially Berlanti, who recalled that when he came out to his parents at 23, his father told him: “You’ll never have a child.”

Berlanti recounted, “I answered back, ‘If you mean I won’t have a wife to have a child with, you’re right. But if you mean I won’t raise a child, and love that child as much as you love me, then you’re wrong, Dad.'” He added later that “You’ll never get to see the moment I watched my mother and father stare into my son’s eyes for the first time. ‘He looks like me, doesn’t he?’ my Dad said assuredly. Or how much joy I felt when I received this text from my father the next day: ‘Caleb is the luckiest boy in the world to have you as a Dad.'”

WASHINGTON D.C. (March 17, 2016) – Stephen Amell will receive the “CinemaCon® Male Star of Tomorrow Award,” it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) will be held April 11-14, 2016 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Amell will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony taking place on the evening of Thursday, April 14, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, hosted by the Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon.

“Already making his mark on the small screen Stephen Amell is poised to break out this summer on the big screen with his starring role in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows,’” noted Neuhauser. “We are excited to honor this exciting up-and-coming actor with this year’s Male Star of Tomorrow Award.”

ETA: According to my Google search, previous winners of CinemaCon's Male Star of Tomorrow Award include: Chadwick Boseman (2014), Armie Hammer (2013), Taylor Kitsch (2012) and Chris Hemsworth (2011).  In 2015, CinemaCon apparently didn't give separate gender awards and gave Britt Robertson the Star of Tomorrow Award.

Even if this proposal was immediately followed by a tragic limo shooting, Oliver (Stephen Amell) still managed to pull off one of the sweetest speeches of all time as he slid that ring onto Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) finger.

I don't think this was posted previously (from International Women's Day on Mar. 8)...

International Women's Day: The Fictional Women Who've Inspired Us
Just About Write  March 8, 2016
http://www.itsjustaboutwrite.com/2016/03/international-womens-day-fictional.html

FELICITY SMOAK (Arrow)

Mer: Felicity Smoak is the definition of inspiring. She has broken the mold of the stereotypical, trope-y female character on TV, especially the female character who then becomes the major love interest. Felicity is just a “normal” girl, the daughter of a single mother who worked her butt off to provide (and Donna Smoak deserves an entire blurb of her own for why she’s inspiring) — and also happens to be brilliant. She’s that every girl viewers can relate to: a little bit nerdy, a little bit awkward, but funny and sincere and real. Felicity uses her intelligence and her wit to demonstrate the true meaning of heroism — dedicating herself, and putting her life on the line to help the “superheroes” save the city.

Felicity Smoak is a woman in a man’s world, in more ways than one. First, as the IT girl, a field typically dominated by men. Then, as one third of the unstoppable Original Team Arrow. Felicity is not only the brains behind the brawn, but is a vital member of the trio. As now-CEO of Palmer Technologies, Felicity is once again proving that the glass ceiling can be shattered by commitment and smarts, and she’s doing things her way. She doesn’t let fear stop her, but she does experience it, and rather than fighting with her fists (though she occasionally does that, too, and is amazing the entire time) Felicity acknowledges her vulnerability and works through her emotions, and in the end reminds herself that she is strong, and unique, and important. She knows her worth, and she doesn’t shy away from embracing it. Felicity Smoak is a hero and an inspiration, and I’m grateful that I not get to watch her kick butt in a different way week after week, but that young girls and women have someone like her to look up to.

As Emily Bett Rickards, the brilliant actress behind Felicity, said about her character: “We [women] can all be strong, and we can do it in a hundred different ways. It’s a really important representation for women to know that they can be themselves. You don’t need to be the patriarchal definition of strong to be strong.”

16 of the Most Long-Awaited Kisses in TV History
Published by EW Staff   March 22 2016 — 11:51 AM EDT
http://www.ew.com/gallery/long-awaited-tv-kisses/2524418_oliver-and-felicity-arrow-season-3-episode-1

Slide 2 of 16
Oliver and Felicity, 'Arrow' (Season 3, Episode 1)

From the moment Oliver and Felicity met in Arrow’s first season, fans were clamoring for a union. But Ollie wasn’t quite done with the other women in his life. Plus, he had this idea that he couldn’t be the Arrow and be with Felicity. It wasn’t until the season 2 finale that he first confessed his love for Felicity, and even then, it was all part of a ploy to beat Deathstroke. But thankfully, when season 3 premiered, fans learned that not only had Oliver’s confession come from a genuine place, but he was ready to prove his feelings with a kiss. Sadly for them, it took a few more ups and downs before they’d fully commit to each other at the end of season 3.— Samantha Highfill

'Arrow': 5 Times Oliver and Felicity Proved They're the Ultimate TV Power Couple
Derek Stauffer  Wednesday, March 23, 2016
http://www.buddytv.com/articles/arrow/5-times-olicity-proved-to-be-t-59341.aspx

Oliver is the hero of Arrow but he makes absolutely terrible decisions more often than not. ... Lots of characters yell at Oliver for his stupid decision, Felicity is the only one he listens to though.
*  *  *
... There is nothing that a brooding former billionaire playboy and current vigilante has in common with a genius former IT girl and current CEO. Yet in Arrow Felicity and Oliver make it work. She tries to make him a little less selfish and Oliver allows Felicity to open herself up....
*  *  *
The ultimate reason that Oliver and Felicity are the best couple on TV is that they save one another. Oliver sweeps in and whisks Felicity to safety more times than can be counted. Felicity saves Oliver in a deep emotional way that can't be rightly quantified. Felicity is the person that has found the lightness in Oliver's darkness like Sara told him he needed to find in a partner. Felicity keeps Oliver sane and keeps him from killing every jaywalker with a pulse. Felicity was one of the first people to tell Oliver he was a hero in season 1 and thanks to her, he has continues to be one.

1. When They Proved They're Partners
2. When They Admit They're Proud of Each Other
3. When They Keep Each Other in Check
4. When They Prove They're Simply Better People Together
5. When They Save Each Other

That's a really hard choice. I'm not sure its worth me even voting since I'll probably just split my vote :(

I also don't think SA will be as cool as Colin last year and make a wager with SH. Then I could get involved in voting.

Welp. Cage Match it is!

It's a tough call. I love them both

As much as I enjoy EBR's esoteric tweets and her prolific puppy posts on instagram, I think it's Jensen's mysterious aura around SM use that I find a bit more compelling.  He'll just randomly pop up with a cute photo of his baby or Baby. His tweets are only slightly less esoteric than EBRs.

Same. Last season I voted in everything because I needed EBR and Olicity to get some positive media buzz  they weren't getting from the show.

SA shared a link to the eonline poll on FB. Hopefully that means the rest of his fans can throw in a vote or two for him, because I'm tired of the Olicity fans always doing the heavy lifting.

It must be working because he's only 1% behind right now. When I was voting this morning, he was about 10% behind.

I want EBR to win so bad. Jensen has already won this! Lol I'm petty.

That's not being petty.  Being petty would be like, I don't want Jensen to win because I dunno...he hangs out with Stephen Amell or something. LOL

Looks like E! Online invested in new servers. Everything is loading quickly. But the Zap2It site is shitty as hell for polls. And the capchas can be so weird. I'm voting for Emily and Stephen. I just want them to win because Arrow is absolutely ignored by CW. Thank God the social media poll actually has a voting limit!

If we are going to use which show between SPN and Arrow gets most ignored by the CW? That honor EASILY goes to SPN. By far. SPN has to do their own damn promos! They don't even get the benefit of the Flarrowverse crossover promotions!!  (I love both shows BTW)

9 of the Most Confusing TV Hook-Ups of All Time
Derek Stauffer  Friday, March 25, 2016
http://www.buddytv.com/articles/once-upon-a-time/9-of-the-most-confusing-tv-hoo-59272.aspx

9. Oliver and Laurel, Arrow
In the comics on which Arrow is based, the couple of Oliver Queen and Dinah Laurel Lance is one of the most dynamic and powerful superhero romances. The Green Arrow and the Black Canary are partners in fighting crime and in life. So it makes sense why Arrow hooked up their live-action counterparts in the early seasons of the show. It was just a disaster. They were terribly dysfunctional, lacked a lot of chemistry and overall felt forced.
Oliver_and_Laurel_kiss.jpg
*  *  *
5. Kendra and Ray, Legends of Tomorrow
Ray is a super-genius who made a suit that shrinks him into microscopic size. Kendra is a reincarnated Hawk goddess who no matter where she is in time is perpetually "just a barista" a few months ago. They don't fit together on paper and they don't fit together in action. The only (current) romance on the Legends of Tomorrow, Ray and Kendra are more likely to make you roll your eyes than have your heart melt.
