She seems way too similar to Natalie of last season. So glad they booted her early. Of course, she may yet reappear.

Her annoyingness, which was a liability with her tribe, could be a super power at EOE Island.  She might annoy the others who come there into tapping out.

Good call, on first boot by Bryce and Lady Chatts.

I just watched it again, focusing on Reem.  She was the first one to jump off the big boat and start pulling supplies into the small boat, showing good challenge skills and initiative, but I hadn't noticed that after putting everyone's clothes on the beach early in the day, she was gathering up their shoes to put, "in the sun," at the end of the day.  By then she must have been exceptionally tone deaf not to have picked up the, "I can't find my clothes," grumbles.

Mainly she reminds me of Judith Ivey so much.

If The Edge of Extinction is really just Redemption Island Part Deux then I expect Reem to destroy everyone there a la Christine, the second-greatest challenge beast of South Pacific, who dominated the pre-merge RI fueled by bitterness and spite.  She made them rethink the assumption that an older woman is necessarily weak, didn't she?

BTW, Cox surprisingly said that she thought Reem got a kind edit at TC.  If that is true, I can only imagine how bad she was in the unedited version.

I didn't think she came off that badly tbh, certainly not as bad as the others were making her seem, so it doesn't surprise me to hear she got a good edit.

On rewatch, I didn't think she came off all that bad, pre TC.  But, I thought she was terrible at TC. She was totally negative and didn't make any positive case for herself.

Yea, true. Although it made some sense to me since it seemed clear she just had no idea that everyone, well, hated her lol. Whether that's because she was just really bad at reading people or if everyone else was just good at pretending like they didn't find her deeply annoying, I don't know. Probably a combo of both.

It might not have made a difference, but she should have just apologized profusely for moving the clothes, saying she was trying to help, but now realizes why it bothered people so much.

She also could have made a case for how strong she is, instead of throwing out the "age discrimination" accusation and talking about a wrestling match.  She could have told them (truthfully or otherwise) about all her outdoor survival experience, athletic ability, puzzle prowess, etc.   Her playing the age discrimination card, not only insulted them, but it probably helped convince them that she had no argument for not being the weakest or one of the weakest.

Even if she was weak, the immunity challenge really didn't reveal anyone's weaknesses.  The team parts were mostly a crowded dash through and over obstacles, so you couldn't really tell who was strong and who was weak because of all the traffic.

I think Reem didn't do herself any favors, but I don't think the rest of the tribe helped.  As others and myself have said, Reem seemed blindsided by the issues her tribe was having with her.  If they didn't want their clothes moved, they should have said something.  If they didn't want her bossing them around (which, was she really?) then they should have said something.  Look how defensive she got when Keith referred to her as 'mom'.  Obviously he didn't mean anything by it, but it can be a scarlet letter to be wearing out there nowadays.

I think back to last season, and Natalie at least having Jeremy around to clue her as to how the tribe felt about her.  Granted she handled that information all wrong, but maybe if Reem had her own Jeremy out there to point out that the tribe thought she was annoying, she might have been able to save herself or at least make more pointed arguments.  The age discrimination thing was stupid to say, but I'm also kind of glad she brought it up since it just seems common to fall back on voting out the older person in the first boot because they're perceived to be weaker.

Reem has a long way to go before they attempt to re-enter the game, but at the very least I wish she could make it to the reveal, just to get the look on her old tribe's faces when she walks in.

Reem just continues to be awful. Is she going to attack everyone that comes? I don't think I could stay a day with her.

If I had been Chris I would have hogged the fish for myself.

I am so enjoying the bitterness. Let's be real, this tribe has been awful for some reason. They have made some poor decisions and the first was voting out Reem instead of, say, Keith, because Reem was moving their clothes. Never mind that she could swim and help in challenges and Keith could not swim and was not stellar in challenges.

We are seeing what happens with bitterness of being voted out and not having beer and a bed. I am fine with that.

Before she even got nasty with Chris, she said 3 words (can't remember what) and her voice was so annoying that I probably would have swum to Ponderosa rather than wait for the boat.

For one thing, her squawking voice when Rick walked up saying you're not welcome here or something like that.

I don't think Survivor changes who people are, some are awful and some are not. She seems to fall into the former category, for me at least. Yeah her attitude changed after the other guy fed her fish. I wonder why.

I kind of understand the bitterness, since Reem felt blindsided and stacked by how her tribe felt about her.  I do find it funny that they’ve continued losing, and Reem herself didn’t seem that weak.

I say I would have hogged the fish, but I keep forgetting these guys have no idea what this twist is or what they are doing on this island.  So from that perspective, I guess I’d have to share. I can’t remember if it was Reem or Chris who said they didn’t know if they were re entering the game as a tribe at some point.

Which I’d love all the Manu castoffs to re enter as a 4th tribe and beat Old Manu/New Lesu, have them go to TC again, and have Jeff rub it in that all the people they’ve voted off came back and beat them, so do they have any regrets.  Yeah, that’d be a better twist than EOE for me at this point lol

But she wasn't really blindsided, except sort of by Keith, who she loves.

It was obvious at TC that she was getting voted out and she gave the tribe plenty of reasons.

I don't think she is a terrible person.  But I think she is taking the game  too personally, and is maybe a bit of a sore loser by nature.

She also is acting like she's being held hostage against her will.  So far (that we've seen) Chris is the only one who seems to view EoE as an opportunity.

I don't think it's fair to say they voted her out simply because she was moving their clothes.  They voted her out because she was bossy and irritating and they just didn't want to deal with her.  When they mentioned something she got really argumentative really quickly.

Which is why she's doing that.  She's trying to get them to quit so she gets the chance to re-enter the game.

Yeah, I think that's Reem just being Reem. I don't think there is any great master plan on her part. She's been there a loooooonnnnnngggggg time.

I’ll pick it up and take it a step further; Reem is about as strategic as a fart in a closet.

Reem may not have wanted the mom label, but that’s exactly what she reminded me of this week.  But with her asking if Keith ran off, saying she was so disappointed in him, chasing after him like he’s snuck out of the house, then getting into a fight with Chris over him questioning her about giving the advantage to Keith...I just got mom vibes.

In fact, the quartet of her, Keith, Rick, and Chris seemed like some bad reboot of Swiss Family Robinson.

Plus pointing to the box in the water and saying, "What's that?" was not only dumb game play, it was more of that fatal bossiness, which would order someone else to go see what it was rather than do it herself.

I just noticed her bio says,  "Contestant You Are Most Like: Stephenie LaGrossa, because she does not give up, and Rudy Boesch, because he just does NOT care."  I have to hand it to her, she was pretty self-aware there.   She's definitely not giving up and she clearly does NOT  care if people like her at all.

She did say something to or about Keith and being his Mom.  She may have said that in the beginning but I believe she is cleaving to the Mom thing wholeheartedly and willingly, at least in reference to Keith.   I wonder if part of the reason she was so angry and at being told that she gave the advantage to Keith is some sort of Mom thing, like she doesn't want to take away anything from Keith.  I mean Keith was laying down behind her like she was some sort of shield the whole time.  I think she feels protective and of a team with him whereas I don't think Keith feels any loyalty to anyone.
