The guys this season are far more facially disadvantaged than any other season I can remember.  It’s hard to watch.

"Facially disadvantaged" - ha!

The OG version of the show, the men were really attractive. Hot. It was why I chose to watch it over all of the other buckets of trash on tv. The reboot has less eye candy for sure.

Ash is dramatic, I agree. But I like her. She's well spoken. Using words in a very considered way which I appreciate. It's a change of pace from the like, like, like that we suffer through of Love Island and Bach. If she ever says "Taylor and my's relationship..." I will retract my statement.

I think hania is a total moron. As much as the free vacation of a lifetime is a draw, the couples this season are proof that they are not getting enough applicants. And i still dont understand why people would agree to letting their partner kissing, which is often sensual and more intimate than sex. Ashs reaction to hania goving the leg hicky was ridiculous. Now did we see her 2 weeks in a row making out worh taylor? And what was trae not going on tje date about? To play hard to get on a 4 week show?

Ash has terrible taste in men, both Hania and Taylor. Which is a shame under any circumstance, but here... It makes the most interesting female temptee far less interesting.

Good luck to any of the tempters getting anywhere with Iris. She seems so above it. (How'd she make it through casting?) So far, at least.

I could not help but laugh out loud at Trace saying they needed a break from each other in order to see what they really wanted. Really? A break? A break of a whole day after knowing each other for a couple days? These people are ridiculous. Of course, that's part of the fun, but when the tempters try to put their relationships with the temptees on par with their real partners of years, that's extra value added ridiculous.

Gillian needs to put a moratorium on use of the word "like." And the whole show needs to for "connection."

That's a really good point, actually. I mention that for example they have 4 females one is Ash and another is Ashley. I mean, really? I think if we take this into account it solves a lot of mysteries/questions.

I am a litttle shocked that Edgar cheated on Gillian. That means that two people looked at him and spent any time with him and said "Oh baby take me to bed or lose me forever!!" *shakes head*

As I've mentioned in regard to Ash, the fact she has a full-length Daria on her arm both invites and answers a lot of questions about her. She keeps being all about Taylor and how sensitive and caring he is and I just see the smarmiest tempter in the group. He annoys the hell out of me.

It was kind of amazing we had two 'friend zones' created in one episode, even if one was done out of spite (I don't understand Trace...).

The Bonfire is the only interesting part of this show.  The females seem to be wilder than the men this season.  Ash is really hung up on Taylor.  Obviously the other men do not like him.  They really wanted to get rid of him.  Ash breaking down and crying over him was very telling.

Gillian is just happy she has a guy that she considers a few steps up from Edgar.  She really likes Tommy.  I still feel Tommy is just playing for the cameras.  I doubt he would want to be with Gillian off this show.

I don't see any of these couples staying together.

Shot of Iris essentially grinding we, the television viewers.

Cut to Iris Talking Head: I can party respectfully and have a great ass time doing it.

Me: Kudos to the editing team.

Hania: I need to prove to Ash that I'm all in and only want to date her, and the best way to do that is to be all in with only one girl in the house.

Cut to Hania taking what's-her-name to bed.

Me: Kudos, again, to the editing team, but also? Where do they find so many absolutely ridiculous people? Of course, I'm watching, so...

I’m watching this show now mostly to see Edgar squirm. I’m not proud of it. But he’s a kid and I think it’s dumb to go on this show with your first love. Especially if you cheated on her. They should’ve broken up then. What did he expect from this? I think he thought it would make him feel less guilty of his past behavior or something? Eh.

Hania’s logic about being with one girl in the house helping him prove to Ash that he can be with one woman is so deeply deeply flawed. I think he actually believes it, too. I…. Just… um….No.

ash is the most ridiculous person I have ever seen. Hania is hideous inside and out. Okso the part where the tempters are harassing the guy who only likes Trae?? I have never seen such ridiculousness but still watching.

I will never understand Hania's thinking here, if you can even call it that. Because, y'know, not hooking up with anyone in the house to prove your devotion, that's a choice, Hania.

I hate Taylor.  I hate the way he constantly goes after Ash and he's bothered me since day 1 taking her to bed when she was obviously so  drunk and out of it.

I will admit that this last episode was kind of interesting.

Ash acting like she was DYING when Taylor was potentially being cut was hysterical.  So over the top.  Girl, have some dignity.

  • Love 8

The justification gymnastics on this show is wild. I nearly fell out of my seat when Hania said the way to prove to Ash that I can be loyal to her is…to go all in on a relationship with another girl and be loyal to her. Say what?!? Almost as crazy was LaSelle’s town crier proclamation: Here ye! Here ye! Don’t any of you talk to me unless you’re named Trace! I’m not here to make friends! Of course, he did all that to tell the one girl, Alex, that it’s not going to happen—and yet even after that she cornered him to try to talk him into giving her a chance/berating him for “leading him on.” Girl, what more does this man need to do before you will take not even a hint but a clearly expressed demand to leave him the hell alone?! Oh, send her home? Fair enough! I’m surprised the girls didn’t vote her out themselves. I don’t recall seeing anything physical yet between LaSelles and Trace, which is almost surprising as compared to seeing Ash and Gillian going all in (literally) with their new beaus.

This season is so depressing, everyone is depressed.  Hania and Edgar were brought to this show because they cheated on their partners, right?  And now that their women are branching out they start crying.  Seriously?

Trace (Lascalle's second girlfriend) walks around moping all day because if Lascalles dares to treat her the way the show explicitly hired her to be treated, then that's "triggering" for her.  Seriously?

The tempter doesn't even want to be around Gillian because she's on the rebound and too vulnerable right now?  I actually think that's really sweet, but for this show, it's also so over the top ridiculous.

A tempter being too scared of commitment with Edgar?  SHE'S THE TEMPTER!  She's rejecting EDGAR!

Everything is BACKWARDS this season!  It's hilarious!

-----------------------------

They're so desperate for the show to do something, and rightfully so, that they're bringing new (and/or old) tempters?

So let's see how this goes.  I hope that this show gets better.

Iris declaring that they're a FAN of DEAC (who?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!  And I watch every single season) a FAN????????  A FANN of one of the tempters?  LOL this is so funny.

Omg, Sam, the "SHOWER girl"?  Okay so they're DESPERATE desperate.

I have to say, Trace reacting like this was pretty funny:

ezgif-2-35046cbdbb.gif

Lascalles telling Trace he loves her?  Lascalles is an absolute basket case that needs professional help.  He can't be around women at all, period, because he'll just start proposing to all of them to prevent any of them from being sad, ever.

ASH is stunning but her whiney drama is unbearable. Gillian really thinks she all that. this show is not as good as it used to be. essentially its a show where you go on this incredible vacation and its ok to date others. I loved it way back when when it was such a new concept, but as great as the vacation is and the possible d list fame, they really arent casting great couples. this season is a whole bunch of whiners, and tempters who are playing games, ugh its just a mess. yet I watch lol

How can we be up to the video messages already? I feel like nothing has happened yet this season, like these people are just going through the motions of what they think the show expects of them and half-heartedly at that. Geez, I can't even remember the name of Iris's boyfriend yet.

If Ash thought Hania's video sounded inauthentic and like he was reading from a script, she should listen to Lascelles'. He sounded like a robot. Strangely, very strangely, considering how they came into this season, I think, in the moment at least, Hania is the most authentic in what he's feeling. Maybe Ash doesn't want to think he's evolved, even if only slightly or temporarily, so it makes it that much easier for her to move on.

We laughed when Taylor grabbed Ash's face to push her away when she was kissing him.  He wanted to have a drink and he pushed her aside to take a drink.

MrLakeGuy walked in the room and asked when this show started letting high school kids on the show.  Of course he was referring to Edgar.

Tommy got the go ahead from Gillian to have sex with her and no strings attached.  He is making it clear he has no intention of being with her after the show.

That whole "I want you to learn to enjoy being alone while in a relationship with me." thing is, unsurprisingly, not that big of a selling point! It's like he wants to be able to do whatever he wants to and then have her be an "all-in" romantic interest (sex) when he DOES decide to spend time with her. I think this is a late stage version of "cooties" iirc.

The 'grabbing her chin while kissing' thing made me shudder too... maybe it was the combo of the black nails that made it so obvious and extra.

Trace is obviously one of those "Oh, you KNOW what you did!" kind of girls. Because why talk to someone when you can instead punish them for what they may/may not have known was wrong instead? Take this as a glimpse of what your sex like will be like with your new wife, who will 'withhold' sex to 'punish' you for your argument over what kind of bread to buy at the grocery store earlier in the day. She seems to be 'Miss I Have A Headache' as well. If this is your glimpse of how life with someone will be? Run. It should NEVER be that hard to guide yourself through the everything is amazing/infatuation days of a relationship that wane as time passes. He couldn't make any kind of commitment or emotion in 7 years of dating. Now he's all-in 'you are my world!' with Trace in like four days? Dude. What a mess he is.

Speaking of being a mess, there's Hania. So you're vaunted 'open relationship' life doesn't play out so well when SHE is the one that sleeps with other people, huh? Thou shalt not try to have your cake and eat it too.

Edgar is like, what, 12? Dude is going to be carded 'til he's 40. He seems to be one of those guys that feels things really intensely and can't control that he's a walking wound. So fragile. He'd be the type to romanticize a murder-suicide pact.

I don't understand - isn't Gillian balling Tommy every night she can? Why is she so stunned for the camera that Edgar is getting some too?

Does Ash have an odd circular scar between her eyebrows, or it some sort of implant? I keep noticing it in certain lights each week but in this episode was super noticeable. I kinda hope she's been mostly acting during this whole "journey", because otherwise she seems like a mess and I'd feel somewhat bad for her.

Luke and Iris are so freaking boring.

Lascelles' (and Trace's) behavior is kookoo crazy and the seemingly lovely Ashley would be insane to stay with him. This whole season is somehow sad, bizarre, and boring at the same time.

That's a pretty good summation actually.

I was wondering about that moon like thing between Ash's eyes as well. I wonder if it is scarification. She has lots of tattoos so I'd guess that might not be far out of the question?

Yeah but also Gillian and Tommy haven't literally broken up yet and that clip was borderline porn. No one could expected that. I understood the reaction without further explanation.

I figured it was a birthmark. Lucas and iris for the win!!!!!!! They should be the only couple that stays together. Ash obviously came here to exact revenge on hania. Sadly, i think Ashly will tale lacellse back, i really do not like him at all- but ladies, he is saying loud and clear “ i have to do whats best for myself “ listen.

edgar and jillian— ugh. Something about jillian is really off, and she and edgar and toxic together. At least edgar had the sense to say “ i cant be a hypocite, im doing the same thing. Tommy cannot get away from her fast enough. Most of the tempters do not want to spend days listening to drama, they just want to fool around. Trace- if you are insecure about the otjer women just mentioning ashleys name, you are in big trouble . Im beginning to hate watch this show . Oh and lol i see kaci campbell is making the rounds again, ive never seem anyone ( maybe deac) try and stay so relevant.
and yes, i can do without the soft porn scenes- how embarassing!!

Where is this after show available? Then again, I’m having a difficult enough time sitting through an hour of this show each week, so maybe I don’t want to know after all. I feel like most of these people are just spite fucking other people to enact vengeance on their parter for previously hurting them. Well, everyone except for Lascelles who is love-bombing the hell out of Trace, which I guess it also sticking it to Ashley in his own way. He’s going to drop Trace once he’s out of this environment and realizes he doesn’t even know her. If he’s been in a relationship for 7 years, he just can’t fathom the idea of being alone. Gillian is in the same boat having been with Edgar since she was 17. She’s trying to lock down Tommy instead, but he’s made it clear that he has no interest in a long-distance relationship, and that’s why she was so devastated about Edgar—because suddenly her back-up plan of at least having Edgar until she can meet someone better has just been pulled out from underneath her. I think Hania and Luke are the only two people who are trying their to prove to their partners that they’re committed to them. Ashley is just neutral—I’m not sure about Laselles, but nothing more than one chaste peck with that other guy. Everyone else are like dogs in heat. These parties are something else! Do people really act like this—hooting and hollering and twerking and bouncing parts all up in everyone else’s parts? And these nightly themes and “outfits”—yikes! I suddenly feel really old! Anywhoo, these people are disasters! There’s nobody I’m “rooting for” on this show. Any decisions any of them make are going to be wrong—unless they “choose themselves” and get thee into intensive therapy post haste, swearing off TV and internet fame…speaking of which, forgot to mention how Iris clearly dragged Luke on this show simply so she can be the next female Deac.

Yep, on both counts. I haven't even watched this week's ep yet, while, in previous seasons, I couldn't wait for a new ep. Much to my embarrassment.

Seriously, how hard can it be to find people just sleazy enough and desperate enough for TV time to do this show, while still being somewhat relatable? Previous seasons tell us, not that hard. This season, they couldn't even muster much eye candy.

  • Love 7

seriously, the clips being shown insinuate Gillian is sleeping with Tommy. so her indignation cracks me up. kissing and "petting" is way more initmate than having sex, she needs to shut up and go away.

I remember when this show rarely had people "falling in love" with their tempters, now it seems everyone is expected to. One of the skanks er I mean girls called Lucas boring. sheesh, just because he wants to stay faithful? I guess relationships become less and less important as time goes on.

and Im over the parade of "contestants" who will not leave a relationship without having another one to jump into. Hanis has been watching Ash be intimate with someone else all season and he is all starry eyed over proposing?? yikes.

The best 5 minutes of this entire season was Gillian losing her goddamned mind at the bonfire ceremony, on the walk back to the car, the entire car ride back, and in the house. When she was all “I’m going to burn this house down!” and she was getting Ash all worked up agreeing that “I’m going to gather all the incendiary objects!” I lost it laughing, while at the same time being somewhat fearful for the cast and crew. I believed her! I imagine the producers running around hiding all of the tiki torches and shutting down the gas line to the stove—show insurance isn’t going to cover arson on the rented villa! Did she totally forget that SHE started screwing around with Tommy first and THAT’S why Edgar hooked up with Mariel (I think that’s her name)? It’s like she totally forgot that she was trying to lock Tommy down to be her new boyfriend before Edgar did anything with Mariel. Just because it worked out for Edgar with his new love interest and not for her, somehow Edgar is the “villain” of the story in her mind, even though, by grade-school rules, “she started it.”

What the hell is going on?!? I had to rewind it three times once Ashley started crying and apologizing to Lasalles that it’s all her fault and she didn’t give him room to focus on himself and their relationship was all about her. Either she’s been gaslit big time or is that why Lasalles was so self-absorbed and overly effusive with Trace because this was the first time in 7 years anyone cared to listen to his feelings? It can’t be! He was “too good” at expressing—demanding—his feelings be obeyed by Trace from the very first day: You’re my girl! We’re in a relationship! Ashley was so damn meek this entire season that I could barely remember she was on it. There is no way she “wore the pants in the relationship” with Lasalles. And she wants to leave with him after seeing him fall in love with someone else?! Hell no, girl. Lasalles walked in there ready to break up with Ashley and leave with Trace, but after the look on his face when she said she wants to stay with him, he completely didn’t expect that. Part of me thinks he “fell in love” with someone else just to save face if Ashley dumped him, and there’s a good chance he’s going to leave with Ashley—after calling Trace his future wife.

Edgar and Gillian didn’t change at all. They’re still acting like college kids. You hurt me. Yeah, well you hurt me! I only had a relationship because you had a relationship. Well, I only moved on because you moved on! I think Mark and Edgar only pretended that Edgar was conflicted so he could tell Gillian he was leaving alone and avoid Gillian’s wrath. After the threats of burning this place to the ground, there’s no way they were going to set her off near a bonfire.
