What do they mean by "Mika goes along for the ride" - aren't they married, wouldn't they pay taxes together? Is she registered somewhere else?

Still doesn't explain why they can't commute and do 3 live shows a week and then 2 days + weekend in Florida. Or one week on or one week off. Or drive to a real studio nearby. Or buy a better camera so they can sit together. This ratings thing is so vexing. Aren't there any execs who realise it's up to the contributors etc? That basically they are accommodating/paying extra for something that weighs the show down?

If they are in Jupiter there's a NBC affiliate about 20 miles away in West Palm Beach. Joe went to a local studio in FL back in the days of Scarborough Country.

The question I have is which sympathetic reporter will Joe and Mika give the “why we moved to Florida” story to and how  will their hero’s journey be framed?  Maybe Emily Jane Fox at Vanity Fair? Because you know Joe will want to take control of the narrative.

In some article someone posted here, one of the ones of Joe really going full-faux-Kennedy about Connecticut and how he would never leave, he said he even moved his ill mother to a place in Connecticut that specialised in dementia patients. So from what I’m gathering from Page Six, he moved her to Florida and is using this as the excuse for his move now? That seems kind of... low.

I don't know if it's the real reason (taxes is equally compelling) but I would bet big money that the sources for the story that Joe and Mika are in Florida to take care of their parents are Joe and Mika.

Joe's tweet is trying to keep his bookers happy amid the stories about he and Mika taking off to FL, not caring about the show other than to cash a pay check, and pissing off everyone at MSNBC.

Joe tentaitvely praises Kamala & takes another swipe at Hillary Clinton with his latest article. Mika & Joe will never forgive her for not appearing for  interviews at their convenience on Morning Joe in 2016 . Mika & Joe frequently complained about Hillary's handling of her "emails". Debbie Wasserman Shultz ( DNC) chair complained to their bosses at MSNBC. Mika was outraged at Hillary's tactics. You can google all the battles between Mika & Hillary in 2016. Mika said the DNC was not fair to Bernie Sanders. Joe warned Hillary's campaign that the electoral college decided the election & that she had to have a message to help midwest voters.

I was shocked that they agreed to appear in the NY studio. They were close friends with Chris Christie in the past, so perhaps they showed up for him. ?

Had the beginning of Katy Tur's show on a few minutes ago; she mentioned that she was in one studio and the people reporting were somewhere else (maybe a DC/NY thing); she said it felt so awkward or some such.  I have to wonder if she was trolling The Gold Dust Twins?  That, plus a couple of the reporters last week mentioning, specifically, Meeka's bleeding from the face after a face lift (per Trump) makes me question if some of the stuff is not meant to be a slight jab.

The Washington Post detailed their interview with Sims from the Trump White House, pointing out that the two focused on the one anecdote about them ( the Mika facelift tweet). The reporter also mentions that ‘oks laughed through the whole segment.

I never in my life saw two people who use everyone and everything around them to promote themselves.  It is beyond disgusting

Now that I'm starting my state (NY)I taxes, I realized another reason why Joe and Mika might have moved to Florida late last year. In addition to saving on state income tax, the bunker strategy also saves them money on their Federal tax returns. The last tax cut put a limit on the deduction one can take on state property tax paid. Owning a multi million dollar house in one of the "good" areas of Connecticut would mean the loss of tens of thousands of dollars in deductions.

I woke up this morning out of town and flicked on the tv. The sound came on before the video and I could hear a female newscaster reading the news. My thoughts, in order.... sounds like Mika’s voice. Great the Tv is already on MSNBC, I don’t have to find the channel. Wait the newscaster is reading the news correctly, at the right pace and actually perfectly. Can’t be Mika but voice really sounds like hers. (I look up and, in fact, it is a local mid market news anchor on their local cable channel.) That makes more sense.

I don't think so. Joe claimed to have text messages of the National Enquirer blackmailing him. He gave them to his bosses at MSNBC. He also called Jared to get help in quashing the story. Jared told Joe to call Trump. Mika was very upset at any publication of the affair.

I don't know if there is any value at this point of publishing whatever they once had on them.  I think that ship has sailed and no one is standing on the pier looking to wish them a bon voyage unless there was some guarantee they wouldn't come back.  There is no doubt in my mind that they will try and attach themselves to this story but it's become so much larger and more interesting than anything they could offer.
