The Alldredges' world is rocked by an unexpected phone call; Ashley Snowden proposes a new potential sister wife; the Brineys get some shocking news that threatens to tear them apart.

So...Drewfus was able to jump up without his crutches and juggle fire balls, but he couldn't get off his ass and help with dinner when Angela needed to feed her baby.

And April's pissed that Angela had to feed her baby. Because it's SOOOO easy to explain to an infant that now just isn't a good time for you to be hungry.

There's plenty of STUPID to go around in this family.

I agree. When Drew said "She's SO self-absorbed. It really shows she's not committed to the family.", I was really stunned. That's the first thing Drewfus has said that I actually AGREED with. I honestly thought he saw none of April's manipulating and selfishness. 

I also thought he'd never have the backbone to stand up to her - but hey, I'll admit, I was wrong about that. April tried to wheedle him...saying, in her sickly sweet way, "Is there even a possibility you would consider letting me live here and come secretly visit me?" and he actually stood up to her and said "Don't even say it. I won't even talk about it. No."

Color me shocked. I guess if it affects him DIRECTLY, he CAN grow a backbone.

I totally agree with you, she cares about no one but herself.

I feel bad for April. This situation was sprung on her after  being married to Drew for awhile. I can see why she is unhappy. 

What kind of sister does Ashley have that she's not trying to get her sister to leave Dmitri. Ashley doesn't have anyone looking out for her.

Although I'm sure I won't be able to look away from this train wreck, I'm starting to get annoyed in that so much of it seems fake.

Ashley/Dimitri:  Her sister's on board with this shit?  I guess that's not totally unbelievable, considering that modern-day etiquette seems to mean acting like you approve of everyone's everything, no matter how ridiculous.  But when she suggests "looking at people you know" Ashley immediately has someone in mind!  I did a little mental exercise of trying to find a friend who I could ask such a thing of - came up completely blank.  And then it turns out this "friend" is someone she "met online" but doesn't even know.  What now?  Am I such a Luddite that everyone has internet friends they don't know except me?  Once again, I don't think I know of anyone who has people they consider "friends" that they only know online.  I mean, there are people who post here who are funny and I think I would enjoy having a beer with, but I don't consider them "friends" and would not feel comfortable asking anyone to come live with Mr. P and me as a "sister wife".  (So you can all relax :). Also:  LOL at stupid Dimitri's jaw dropping when he heard that this "friend" had 5 kids!  He recovered in his TH to blah blah about the "big family" he supposedly wants - but I saw you, Dimitri.

April/Auralee/OtherAnamelady:  So they found a house to move @15 people into - and it's a rental?  Really?  And of course don't get me started on everyone's fear of arrest as they live out their illegal lifestyles ON TV!  And now he's going to start looking around for other places to live and wants their suggestions.  Yet he never once mentioned a job. Wouldn't a job dictate where they would live?  Doesn't he need a job to support @15 people if he is the sole breadwinner?  Isn't he supposed to be a lawyer with a practice?  Is it that easy just to move your practice to wherever the wives show a preference?  And if this were real life, wouldn't it just be simpler to move everyone back to their separate homes?  If they lived in separate homes before, who cares if April and Auralee got along?  And I have to assume Third Wife was happy in her apartment with her baby and only having to put up with Idiot Husband a couple days a week.  This family interests me the most on this show, even though I call BS on a lot of it.

I am Team April for reasons stated by others already, but I also have to point out what I liked from episode 1:  she "generously" gave the master bedroom to Auralee - hell yeah!  If they each get him for 2 nights a week, the sucker is the one who has to share her living space with his possessions.  I'd much prefer my own closet, dresser and bathroom!

Third family:  I'd love for Melina to just be a big old lesbian who's after Sharis!  That would be some good TV :)

Wherever they move, the Briney women are NEVER going to get along. Drewfus needs to face up to that and stop trying to make them all live in one house. If he can't afford 3 houses, get 3 apartments...anything but all 3 of them in one house. It's beyond toxic.

Keep those 3 separated, except during your "family gatherings"...which frankly can't be much fun when you hate each other that much.

I think he wants them all in one house because it would put him out slightly to carry a little overnight bag when he's staying with the wife whose closet he doesn't share. He'd rather have his kids exposed to the venom and malice the wives have for each other than inconvenience himself AT ALL. What a douchebag.

They seem the most normal of the three to me as well...which isn't saying much. I do think it's pretty damn weird that they are hiding a 3rd wife who doesn't want to be on the show and present it to us as thought there's just 2 wives, and they're looking for a third.

I also think something about Melina is off. When she didn't show up....she couldn't have sent a TEXT? Anything? Just a little note, 'hey I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, not sure about all this, I need some time'???? Nothing?

That's beyond rude and I would never have agreed to meet with her again. All the sudden now she's done being overwhelmed and flew out there? Flaky.

Dimitri didn't marry Ashley and he told her like the first day they got together that he wanted a polygamy "tribe".  She either goes along with it or she hits the road.... and I get the impression that she wants Dimitri, dick warts and all.

WAAAYYYYY back when AOL was hot stuff there were email loops.  I've been in an email loop with a bunch of women from around the world since 1998.  There are women from around the U.S., one from Ireland, one from Japan, etc.)

We had a meet up in NYC in August of 2002 and when we got together we all felt like an old group of friends because we shared so much of our lives in emails and talked every single day almost.  But I wouldn't invite any of them to live with me.   I am only saying that you CAN have friends online that you've never met.... but this was in the past.   Ashley is probably talking about a Facebook "Friend", lol.

April is self-absorbed, but I can't blame her.  I don't think she really believes in the lifestyle.  I feel the same about Meri from SW.  She was raised in polygamy, but I firmly believe she thought Kody was the best looking guy she could get and she agreed to the other wives to keep him.

I totally agree with everything you said.  And I think if the Alldredges bring her into the family, after the "honeymoon" phase wore off they would all be sorry.  In fact I am positive she would just take off and leave them all.... since being considerate and thoughtful doesn't seem to be her M.O.     And for the life of me, I can't figure out why Jeff would even be remotely interested in her.

EXACTLY!  So WHAT, exactly, is the point of bringing Melina into the family?!???  So that Sharis can have another close friend?  Weird!  I also wondered if maybe Melina had been a man who is transgender.  She has that weird facial look that Caitlyn Jenner has - kind of male genes altered to look female.  And for the record mods - I am NOT attacking the transgender community NOR mocking them in any way - it is a simple observation.  Not EVERYTHING people say is meant to be an attack on others.  Unless I am snarking on Tony, that is.  Then you can take my remarks how you wish.  lol

If Dimitri and Ashley bring in her "friend" and her five kids, they won't be friends for long.  The April/Drew situation reminds me of the TV show Big Love, he was monogamous with the first wife and then got "the calling".  April obviously does not like this life and is not happy at all, so she should have left him if he insisted on that lifestyle.  Sorry but she is scary, I would not want to live in a house with her.   That group is ridiculous why are they in plural marriage, they can't stand each other for 5 mins and Drew is a big wimp.   I had to laugh at the look on Sharis's face when her phone rang and it was Melina, she looked scared to death, so scripted.

She has four girls and one boy.  Their ages are 14, 13, 11, 7 and 1.  We don't know which are the girls and which is the boy - but regardless... ONE of the teens (either 13 or 14) or BOTH have to be girls.   I could see him "Marrying" them when they are around 16.  They are home schooled and don't have a lot of experience with boys and the outside world so they would be vulnerable.

It may have been just for the cameras, but one of the things I noticed during an earlier episode was Jeff Alldredge serving the kids food at one of the family dinners. I remember thinking that it was cool that he was pitching in - and then I remember thinking how f'd up it was that I was impressed that a plyg man was helping with dinner! Oy.

I agree, neither seems into the lifestyle, but then they should have divorced and moved on.  No matter how head over heels in love I  am with my hubby, he came home with that idea and I'd have a lawyer on the phone before he backed out of the driveway.

 

Also, in today's age, the fact that they were at the airport with no idea that Melina wasn't coming was total BS, done for drama.  Would anyone really do that and not send at least a text??  I don't think so and if they were that rude and inconsiderate they really don't deserve a 2nd chance.  As someone already said, I think Melina wants Sharis and that's it!

Ok, weird aside - does anyone else find it odd that Auralee speaks as though she has a hearing problem, and "aural" means having to do with hearing?  It's been bugging me since episode 1.

Auralee says it's a speech impediment and if she could work with a good specialist she could learn how to pronounce the sounds correctly.  She said her family thought it was cute because she talks like she has a Danish accent?!?  If I remember that correctly.

I agree with this. She has trouble saying her “r” sound, which is something Barbara Walters struggled with, but I also detect a gutteral tone, like she is speaking in the back of her throat, a quality of sound I hear in deaf or hearing impaired people that seems to be separate from the speech impediment, or should I say in addition to it.

I immediately thought, what is up with her face/lips? Bad plastic surgery or something? I don't know why because she's been on camera in other episodes, but it really stuck out to me this time. If that's just how she looks, fine, she can't help that...but if she had some work done...I agree, it wasn't good.

That is true.  I can see how Meri might have felt more obligated to stay, because she was raised in the lifestyle and thought that was just how it was.  Kody wasn't into Polygamy when they got married, so I can kind of see how she thought she was with a monogamist then got the rug pulled out from under her.  But April really has no excuse.  Other than she would be a single mom with 7 (?) kids.  Which I admit is daunting.  Especially since she likely has no marketable skills.

Meri knew from the get go that Kody was heading to the Principle.  Kody was a new convert in her church and he talked on camera about having many philosophical conversations with her father before her father agreeing to their marriage.  Her father had 5 wives and would only agree to the marriage if Kody promised to accept and live the Principle.  She knew going into it that she had to agree if she wanted Kody...and as the other wives have stated they wanted Kody full stop.  Janelle converted to have him and Christine ONLY wanted the number three slot and chased Kody relentlessly for years and after he had the two wives she put her claws in him...no matter how he felt about her.  People have discussed over the years that Meri really wasn't cut out for the life and was most likely hoping that Kody would change his mind after she made him so blissfully happy that he couldn't possibly want anyone else (...deep sarcasm...).  She had him for three years to herself before he brought Janelle in.  The bullshit about Meri bringing in the wives was just that...bullshit.

I thought Kody wasn't interested in polygamy until after he and Meri had already gotten married.  I could be wrong about that, though.

That is true.  I can see how Meri might have felt more obligated to stay, because she was raised in the lifestyle and thought that was just how it was.  Kody wasn't into Polygamy when they got married, so I can kind of see how she thought she was with a monogamist then got the rug pulled out from under her.  But April really has no excuse.  Other than she would be a single mom with 7 (?) kids.  Which I admit is daunting.  Especially since she likely has no marketable skills.  

I still feel for her. I think he probably gas lighted her. Plus the single mom with several kids and no job. Who knows if she has a supportive family. Since it took her like a year to come around I think he just wore her down. Plus—she loved him. I mean I don’t know all this for a fact. Just my guess.

When Ashley was telling Dimitri about talking to her sister, am I the only one who had a horrible feeling that Ashlley was going to suggest her sister as a possible sister wife?  I can see Dimitri liking that idea.  Yuck!
