If it were me doing the crossovers, I'd have one character hop over to the next night show.

- on Monday, Brandon Routh goes to Supergirl because it's ~funny
- on Tuesday, Kara goes to Flash because she knows Barry
- on Wednesday, Barry goes to Arrow because he's the ring bearer
- on Thursday, Diggle goes to the Waverider because he's got the rest of the week off since O/F went on their honeymoon

i am now imaging the shit storm that's going to erupt in fandom when/if particular characters/actors are excluded from the crossover event as well as the farrow screening of said crossover event

I'm excited for the crossover. I generally love stuff like that though, and sometimes characters from different shows manage to look better (see: Laurel on The Flash in s1, Barry on Arrow and Supergirl, etc.)

Plus I get a chance to watch some of the characters I love on shows I don't watch anymore.

FLASH, ARROW, SUPERGIRL, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW MEGA-CROSSOVER COMING

That sounds like a logistical nightmare. They should probably start shooting it now. And are we really going to have it stretched out over almost an entire week? Unless it's @dtissagirl's scenario, I am really not for this. Especially since it will likely eat up Arrow's 100th episode.

  • Love 7

Yeah, there's no way they're not making Arrow's 100th episode into The Episode With Every Single DC Comics Character Ever.

That's actually an alternative here -- instead of the crossover going into 4 episodes across 4 shows, you make a minor subplot link the other three shows, and  bring everyone into one big event on Arrow on the occasion of the nuptials the 100th episode.

So you still think they are making Oliver and Felicity get married in the 100th episode, even if they aren't really doing anything to bring them back together right now? I'm curious because I'm starting to have doubts.

Yeah it's a weird combo.

And what kind of ratings is CEG going to do in that slot? Wasn't it pulling 0.2-0.3 on Monday? What's it going to do on Friday? 0.0?

I predict it will probably do the same, most of the shows the CW moves to Friday keep their core audience. It likely won't build a larger or new fanbase - but it will probably keep what it has.

On another note, sorry @catrox14 they split up your Weds duo. Shame they moved SPN again :(

I've posted the trailer for Powerless (NBC's office sitcom about an insurance company in the DCU) over in that show's forum, in case anyone's interested..

This looks fun but I give it one season. NBC are not great with new shows. Sorry, I'm still bitter over their treatment of Community.

Okay. Because I'm starting to wonder if they'll make us wait until the season 5 finale and I can feel the pain already hahaha. I needed some positive thinking.

Ohhhh for sure they're going to get back together in the first half of S5.

I WILL EVEN EAT MY HAT IF I'M WRONG.

Melissa Benoist, Grant Gustin & More CW Stars React to ‘Supergirl’s’ Big Move and Mega Crossovers

http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/melissa-benoist-grant-gustin-supergirl-cw-1201778858/

Quote

Stephen Amell (“Arrow”): “I found out it was coming to CW at a Comic-Con convention when a fan was like, ‘How do you feel about this?’ last weekend in the U.K. And I said, ‘Oh, that would be cool.’ And he was like, ‘No, no, no — it’s happening.’ So I was like, ‘Oh! Awesome!’ It’s not unprecedented, but it’s peculiar. I think that we do get an opportunity to help each other all being in Vancouver, so hopefully they all have a good time out there and we won’t lose any awesome crew members to them.”

I'm impartial to the crossovers. The first one I thought was good, the second one not so much.

An idea I had that I thought would work was if they did the crossover post winter finales. The shows always seem to be a little directionless in the middle part. If they did a multipart/multi-episode crossover it might provide an interesting storyline for a change. Plus this way they wouldn't have to squish all the actors into every episode, they could have the shows organically solve a mystery/stop a crime so they could get organic blends of the characters as needed. Even if LoT is not on the air Jan, they could have those characters just spend sometime on the other shows.

Unless they pull a last minute swerve, I do think O/F will get back together in s5. Not sure there'll be a 100th episode wedding though, even though that probably would be the best time for it.

As for the crossover, still not interested but as long as we don't waste time setting up spin-offs, I can deal. It's gonna be so overcrowded though.

Why do I get the feeling that Stephen really wanted to insert "more" into the last sentence of that quote re: Supergirl joining The CW?  Heh.  For the record I doubt he has anything to really worry about in that regard but it does make me laugh that you can see how much he loves watching other shows eat into his.

It's hard to tell in text, but that last line sounds a little salty. (I completely agree with the saltiness, though!)

That line reminds me of when people used to ask him about Katie Cassidy becoming the Black Canary, which were "Yup, she is.  But did you see the costume?"  He sounds like he's saying, "Yup, adding Supergirl is great.  Hope we don't lose the craft services manager."

Lincoln / Luke Mitchell was killed off.  However, all i could think was Bring on Jason or James or whomever that casting notice was about

If Arrow casts Luke Mitchell for anything. Yes please! Maybe he could be someone in the Bratva/HIVE (present time)?

I like Luke Mitchell, but something about his voice/manner makes him come across as younger than he is, to me. Maybe too young for someone

Spoiler

meant to go toe-to-toe with Oliver. He's not particularly physically imposing either, which I think the casting call referenced? Can't remember exactly.

Oh! No not cast him as a big bad, but cast him as an important henchman we see throughout the season :)

Man that pisses me off. :(. Although I'm pretty angry with SPN right now and depending on the finale....I'm feeling less good about s12. I'm super salty. But thank you for your condolences :)

Before this last season of AoS, I would have said "Yes please" to Luke Mitchell in anything.  I'm not quite as confident now.  But maybe in the right role?  I'm not sure James is it though.

Brett Dalton though.  I know mileage varies on this point, but I think Brett Dalton plays a fantastic bad guy.

I refuse to eat a hat. But.

I think they have been doing quite a bit to bring Oliver and Felicity back together in these last few episodes. I'm not even talking about the fact that Oliver and Felicity are still pretty much acting so much like a couple that the dialogue constantly has to remind us that they aren't a couple, but things like Oliver and Felicity saving each other again in the bee episode, their conversations at the casino, with Felicity admitting that she does think people, and specifically Oliver, can change, going back on one of her many reasons for the breakup, and last episode's blatant swerve away from "whoa, really feeling some guilt over the whole nuke thing" to "Smoak family drama, where Felicity is brought to realize that sometimes people lie out of love/for very good reasons, and finds out that her father didn't desert her after all."

I realize this isn't necessarily what a number of fans want to see - Oliver and Felicity really talking things out, and Oliver apologizing - but it is doing something to bring them back together.

Also bringing them back together: that trend of the numbers rising slightly when it looks like Oliver and Felicity will be together and falling whenever it looks like they won't.  And the CW's need to do a HUGE SWEEPING WOW CROSSOVER EVENT thing, now with FOUR shows.

Nooooooooo. I irrationally gratuitously hate him more than I irrationally gratuitously hate Brandon Routh.

I don't like him either, and I think my dislike is also irrational, bc I hate the actor bc I really hated the character, in all incarnations. I hated people shipping SkyeDaisy with him after he was revealed as definitively evil, plus the fucker killed a dog. In fact, HIS OWN dog. In my book that's full-on rot-in-hell stuff there.

I think he killed MY dog in our previous lives. He makes me irrationally cranky. I fast forward him on AoS as much as I can because he gives me ALL THE CREEPS.

Oh I was no Ward fan, believe me, and I was even less of a fan of Ward apologism.  But (sorry!) I still thought Brett Dalton did a good job playing him as the total psycho he was.

I doubt it will happen though.  But if it does, I guess you can blame me for putting it out there in the universe. :)

I don't have an explanation, I just really dislike him gratuitously. It's totally manageable on shows I watch without investment, like AoS -- up until these last few episodes he was completely sequestered in a separate plot, I just skipped all of it. But the thought of him on a show I do the crazy fangirl thing on the regular is... not ideal. :)

(edited)

I get that. :)  I have actors like that.  For example, I can't stand Liev Schreiber and I have no idea why.  *shrug*  It is what it is.

ETA: Zachary Quinto might be closer to what you're talking about? For me I mean.  I've never been able to quite get past him as Sylar in Heroes.  Even as Spock I still halfway expected him to start cutting people's heads open. Lol. :)

Speaking of actors we don't like. I irrationally dislike Scarlett Johansson and yet I look fwd to seeing her as Black Widow. Which indirectly brings me back to the discussion earlier about females in superhero movies. Watching Cpt Civil War made me get off my laziness and watch Ant-Man (which was an awesome movie), but I loved Evangeline Lilly as Hope and clearly the Wasp will be coming to a screen sometime soon. So they set-up these female stories and then never back them up properly.

In fact, I love a lot of the female leads in superhero movies/shows. I really wonder why they have such a hard time producing and marketing female superheroes or to a female audience. It really does baffle my mind that it is 2016 and we are still having gender inequality issues.

Don't burn me at the stake, but I can't stand Sebastian Stan. I've NEVER been able to stand Sebastian Stan. I hated him in that movie about hot warlock dudes, and I've hated him ever since. He annoys the crap out of me in the Cap movies, in part bc I just hate him, and in part bc he's really knock-kneed and it messes up his villain walk, and I so love everything ELSE about the Cap movies.

I haven't seen CW so i can't comment on that point but man, he really impressed me in KINGS.

That's the thing, he's a perfectly fine actor. I think he kind of oozes douchey arrogance, but he is a fine actor. It's not him, it's me.

Wait the 100th episode is like episode 8 right? Well yea, that DOES seem early if they aren't back together by next week. But Arrow often moves at light speed and they were almost married before. So I could totally see Oliver and Felicity getting back together one week and getting married the next.

By the way, if they didn't do the wedding in the 100th episode - they could easily do it the following week and have it interrupted by a villain as the mid-season cliffhanger. Sorry - don't hate me! But then they would give us a end of season beach wedding with just friends or something like that.
