As a non comics person who watches the show with a pretty neutral attitude, she's one of the leads. They can't kill her off forever it wouldn't make sense! Unless the actress wanted out. 

Thanks for saying that :) I hope they don't kill her. I'm not actively worried at the moment, for several reasons, but also because I don't think it makes sense with the way they've been building this arc to end it with her actual dying. But I almost feel like I should have my guard up anyway.

Everyone else is slacking, Sara already died and came back to life this season. 

I don't think they'd want to kill Iris, they wouldn't want the press that would follow that kind of move.  If Iris dies, she'll be back or maybe she'll get sent to the future where her comic counterpart is actually from.

Who are your favourite Flarrowverse characters?

Mine are (in order of rank):

1. Felicity (by a long long long shot for obvious reasons) 

 

 

2. Ray (he's cute, a genius, funny, brings snacks on stake outs and is Sir Raymond of the Palms)

3. Any version of Wells (ok I probably just like Tom C)

4. Barry (I have a soft spot for Barry and find him very likeable)

I don't think I can do a list.  I mean I can name Felicity as my MVP and add Oliver to that list when he's not been overwhelmingly dumb but I don't really think I could properly rank the rest of the cast of Arrow.  I could probably group them into the ones I care about and the ones I don't, but I don't want to put any of the ones I care about higher or lower than the other ones I care about (apart from my tippy top choices)  

So the current  group I care about are: Dig, Quentin, Thea, Lyla, and Nyssa if she ever showed up again.  

There's a whole list of supporting players I love but the Sin's and Donna's come and go too much for me to really worry too much about them.  

The ones that I more or less couldn't care less one way or the other are:  Wild Dog (Ok, he more than a little bugs me, Curtis (sorry dude), Adrian (I just find him dull even with the reveal) and Tinah (nothing really against her, just couldn't care one way or the other) Susan doesn't matter enough for me to hate her.  

On LoT only Sara, Ray, Rip and Mick are my must keeps, but I like and enjoy the rest of the cast and would notice their absence if we lost any one of them.  On The Flash I am fine with the whole cast but not one character would make or break the series for me.  Not even Barry.

Yeah, I am having a hard time making a list as well, although I did try! :)

Sara is my #1 of course.  But after that I kind of have to break it down by show.  

Arrow - Felicity is my favorite.  Thea, Donna, Lyla, Nyssa.  Tatsu.  Diggle.  Roy - I miss Roy a lot.  

The Flash - it's hard to say because I haven't been watching it this year, but when I was, Joe and Cisco were my favorites.  

Supergirl - The "core four" of Kara, Alex, J'onn and Winn.  And M'gann.  

Legends - other than Sara (already mentioned), I think Mick, Ray, and Rip.  But I enjoy all of them, except for Nate.  I'd still happily lose Nate. :(

I didn't know how to explain how much I enjoy certain characters mostly/only with certain other characters, so I had to do this with a "favorite duos/trios" addendum.

Favorite Characters (currently):

(ETA: I realize Tommy and Eddie are edging out Oliver and Diggle right now; that's more a function of how much the current activities on Arrow and Flash are making me miss the old days than a current dislike of Oliver and Diggle. So this is subject to change.)

Oh this is tough! It tends to change on an episode by episode basis with some characters, but my consistent favorites these days, among characters still around and are main characters are...

1. Sara

2. Oliver (when he isn't being an idiot)

3. Felicity

4. Cisco

5. Barry/Iris (they're more or less tied)

6. Ray (but only after he and Felicity broke up and he went over to LoT. Before that, I couldn't stand him. Now he's one of my favorites. Go figure)

7. Mick

8. Winn (but only after about midpoint of season 1. Before that he, like Ray, I couldn't stand, but he got a LOT better)

9. Lena/Jax (they have nothing to do with each other, but I couldn't decide who gets this space)

10. Thea

I could go on. There are lots of other characters I love, some that I enjoy, some that I like alright but I don't super care about, and some that I tend to forget about.

Hmm... I think that's it. I don't mind Lance but ever since Ra's spilled the beans about Oliver and he started that manhunt, he's on my shit list. It's one thing to hunt the vigilante but the way he treated Roy and then Oliver when he told him about Roy's supposed death really turned me off him.

As for the rest of the Flarrowverse, it's hard to say as I don't really watch the other shows but from what I have seen I like Iris (or maybe its CP, she's adorable) and Cisco (in doses). Caitlin seems okay but kinda meh and I like Sara once she's on her own show and not stealing screentime from my faves over on Arrow.

I'm not a fan of how Ray was written on Arrow and I hated how his scenes with Felicity didn't fit the prevailing tone of the season. They were in a rom-com while everybody else was on Misery Island. But I saw a ton of chemistry there. Playful, sweet and adorable. And there was enough heat for their version of the lunge to work. I would love to see Brandon and Emily in an actual rom-com.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! They were adorable together and had a tonne of chemistry. I loved Felicity with Barry but I thought Raylicity totally topped that!

I actually enjoyed the rom com-ness of their scenes and for me it was a nice change from the tragic tone of the season (which I liked too, and didn't mind the contrast in tone).

I had a hard time enjoying Palmer Island because I knew too much about the rest of Felicity's life to believe she was really enjoying her Pina colada.

The show made it incredibly clear that Ray was a consolation prize and just someone Felicity would just be settling with. IMO Her and Ray are great friends, but I don't think she'd have been happy with him...

I really could never want Felicity to live a life with Ray knowing that she isn't with someone she truly loves...

If Oliver were never able to have the kind of relationship with her that she wanted, I'd rather see her with Ray than spending the rest of her life alone.  I think Ray might have been an okay default.  He respected her abilities enough to put her in the right job for her as opposed to what's best for him as Oliver did, and he valued Felicity when Oliver didn't (ignoring episode 3x17).  He cared enough about her to give her PT even after he realized that she didn't love him.

That's a whole lot of respect, especially when  you consider that at the same time Oliver was spending almost all of the season telling her that he loved her and while pushing her away and dismissing her opinion.

I agree with this. But I think it really depends on how you attack life in general. I'm big on picking a sensible choice to settle with (no I didn't settle for hubby in case anyone is wondering!) I'm just a big advocate of settling and growing old with a good person who loves you enough than trying to spend the rest of your life looking for something that may or may not exist. 

But I totally get the other train of thought though and understand why some people need more.

This is the case of me wanting to chose what *l* think is best for Felicity.

When I was young, I thought it had to be the person you were madly in love with or no one. I was also super into alpha males. 

I'm older and hopefully wiser now and I think the important thing for longterm happiness is to be with a person who is kind and treats you well.

IDK I think it'd be kind of naive to think that it's Oliver or no one... If Oliver died or if he were never able to have that kind of relationship Felicity wants, then I'd hope she'd find someone who she'd love as much as she loves Oliver. And that to me, is definitely not Ray. And in the end, if Felicity got with Ray, not only would Felicity be settling, Ray wouldn't be able to find someone who'd choose him first. 

But ymmv.

Let me just say that I did not watch the last episode of Legends when I wrote Rip Hunter and Gideon as one of favorite Flarrowverse duo. 

Seriously, I don't even know what to think after the last episode. I mean I guess a man can really love his ship like that? So weird when you think about it. lol

Nope For real I found them incredibly forced. Like a little kid jumping up down to get your attention or a dog that just HAS to show you a toy it's got. Like "Yes we know. Now please piss off".

Plus I never felt Felicity liked Ray for Ray at all or vice versa to be honest. Everything between them was 100% reactionary to Oliver. So I personally don't buy that he's the person she would end up with if Oliver wasn't in the picture.

I actually like Palmer on LOT now, but I'm still super convinced he's the kind of creepster who'll murder a woman with his crazy eyes at some point. I felt like that when he was with Felicity, and felt it perhaps even more when he was with Kendra. I'm still not convinced he didn't murder his fiancée and just took advantage of the mirakuru soldiers being in town for an alibi.

I hated Raylicity. And I never saw romantic chemistry between F/R, sorry. I saw a good friendship and banter, but to me that is not romance. There was no heat to their banter. It was lukewarm at best. I think if they were pushing middle age and looking for companionship, I could see them settling for each other. But since they are still both young, I think they should try for a more romantic love. The chemistry just read far too platonic or sibling for me to actually root for the pairing. I also think they were both wanting other people, so they were substituting for what they could not have.
