Here's an article about the DCC's new salon.: Cheerleader style

Some interesting bits:

Marshall Hatley and Kevin Walsh are excited about where their careers are headed. Tangerine Salon, where both have worked for a decade, has been chosen as the sponsored salon for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for the next five years as well as for Rhythm & Blue, the squad’s hip-hop dance group.

...

"One of the other stylists at the salon was doing DCC Director Kelli Finglass’ hair. Hatley was doing her children’s.

“We’ve been cultivating a relationship with her,” Hatley said.

...

He and Hatley viewed videos going back a number of years and noted that the cheerleaders’ hairstyles haven’t changed much over the past several years.

Ooooh that implies there could possibly some big changes in hair this year?!

I think Tobie Percival works at Tangerine.

So Emma's husband is a Cowboys flag boy.  By day he is a successful financial advisor.  Anyway found this video of the flag boys and DCC....after all the tailgating stuff.

Random thought but I feel like all these girls end up marrying someone well-off ... not MSFT rich but well off enough that they either quit their jobs or they can start their own business like Sydney.  Just interesting is all

I'm guessing because of their DCC status they attract well off men.

Yeah I agree ... a lot of the fitness instructors (soulcycle or yoga or whatever) here always seem to marry the super well-off men  (and I'm generalizing - like the major corp lawyers or the bankers or hedge fund people).  Sigh - there is something be said for "beauty" and super toned bods.

Most of these girls are fairly well off to begin with.

are they?  interesting ... I didn't know that

Yeah. Cheering/dancing all their lives, lessons, outfits, driving to and from places, competition entries, hair and nails, cheer uniforms all add up. Plus lots of the girls teach dance part time and cheer part time. That's not enough to live on and as we know, so many live away from home! I'm thinking bank of mum and dad plays a big part lol

Our former  mail carrier was Vanessa Jenkins mom- she was on the squad back in 09 maybe? I can't remember. She only cheered for one season. Anyway, her mom told my husband and I that there were definitely some rich girls on the team whose mommy and daddies paid for everything. Then you have the girls like Vanessa who actually have to have real jobs to pay their bills.

so it's a mix.

I remember Vanessa. I really liked her. She's the one who during her uniform fitting, Kelli said, "Your ass is your asset." I always found that funny and cute.

He hit the jackpot, too! Not sure what she does for a living, but she seemed really nice and is stunning.

It would be interesting to know how many of the DCC had the same boyfriend when they retired as when they started out. Some of them are so young when they join the team. I wonder how many high school sweethearts get dumped during that DCC rookie year.

woooo good question Sleepy ... I do wonder that.  I mean it's gotta be a high ratio!

Oh nice!!   Did she post that?

Jasmine hit the gold pot as well (and yes he did too in terms of landing a beautiful nice young lady ... I was purely thinking of returns of a Stanford BS grad)

Erica interviewed about the swimsuit calendar shoot and being on the one magazine cover.     http://www.dfw.com/2016/06/18/1112683/erica-featured-on-cover-of-dallas.html

thanks!

Ah, so she had turf toe.  I heard that can be really painful! that must have been the injury she was still dealing with at the shoot.  I wonder if it affected her solo too since we know she didn't get a Barbie this year...

Speaking from experience, turf toe is the worst.  I had it in high school from lacrosse conditioning, and I couldn't wear close toed shoes for weeks.

Amused that Erica thinks she invented the term "Smizing".  I've definitely heard it from Tyra Banks on America's Next Top Model, and that was years ago.

not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but does anyone know the name of the song with the lyrics that keep repeating something like "light up the night now" that is featured in the last few seasons of MTT?  I've been trying to google the lyrics and I just can't find them anywhere.

Is it Outasight "Tonight is the night"? They play that one all the time lol

I really liked that video of Kelsey! Interesting that they released it on PDC...I wonder if as they start to edit they realize they have a lot of girls to cover and can't do them all in the actual show...maybe we will see more clips of girls on that site soon!!

dalgal or txstar, what song did Kelsey dance to?? It threw me off when I saw she had a top hat or something at one point? it looked like a cool dance.

@NicoleS9954 thank you so much, and it's close with the lyrics, only it's not the one I'm thinking of....the one I'm trying to find goes something like "light up the light now/lighters up in the sky now/light up the night night night n-now!"  LOL  They play it a ton on the last few seasons, and there's a rap component to it too that almost makes me think of LMFAO, but I didn't see any songs like that from them when I checked.  It's making me crazy trying to figure it out :D

@raindancer I was watching a rerun of season 7 episode 7 on itvBe today and the song I think you're describing came on! I used Shazam to find it and got the result Analogue Revolution - Light up the night! http://www.shazam.com/track/71746646/light-up-the-night Unfortunately it's a really hard to find song and I can't find it anywhere, but it appears their music is used a lot on TV (they feature a lot on Dance Moms) and they sound like LMFAO according to this website http://www.last.fm/music/Analogue+Revolution/_/Light+Up+The+Night! Not quite sure if this is the song you're looking for but it sounds a lot like it judging from the lyrics I heard! :) hope this helps! :) http://www.last.fm/music/Analogue+Revolution/_/Light+Up+The+Night
