Right you are.  No doubt “paying the bills” speaks volumes.  Read one well-known Broadway actor's bio (he also dabbles in movie/and occasionally TV) where he talked about showing up in less than stellar roles/pictures. He said that whenever he was between shows and funds got iffy he'd call up his agent and say: "get me something". Suspect we’ll not find any of those somethings on his resume.

Well, she is still under contract with AoS, which limits her options. Small productions are a possibility, but she can't take another TV role on the side (unless maybe a guest appearance) and she can't do a big movie. Plus, she is the "type" which fits in those Hallmark movies.

Agents has wrapped filming for season 7, its all over. They are just doing any post production work as they await the ABC schedule slot next year. From here on forward anything connected to the show would be any last promo interviews and reunion panels at conventions.

Sure, but the question is when the contracts expire. It is possible that she has something more substantial lined up after the Hallmark gig. Or not. It is not that easy to jump from one TV role to the next bit job.

She really does fit Hallmark’s type. I have heard a few interviews with Hallmark actors and they all rave about how great it is to work for them. Once an actor get on Hallmark’s list they can get a ton of jobs with that only require a short time commitment. Most of those movies are filmed in 2-3 weeks.

I just read the promo high ranking Navy Captain and commander of the Pacific Fleet you don't say. Hopefully a reporter's error  I know JAG/NCIS has fallen from military accuracy since the Bellasario days and the show says he is the Chief of Staff to the Pacific Fleet commander

In the episode, Wen plays Dr. Carol Lee, director of experimental cosmology at East Texas Tech University, who will butt heads with 11-year old student Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage). Given Sheldon has a knack for driving professors like Dr. Grant Linkletter (Ed Begley, Jr.) and President Linda Hagemeyer (Wendie Malick) more than a little crazy with his incessant questions and suggestions, will he also test Dr. Lee’s patience?

We’ve gotten used to seeing Wen kick some serious butt in Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, and previous series like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but she also has a number of sitcom credits to her name, so a guest spot on Young Sheldon wasn’t as much of a stretch as you might think. “I was really looking forward to it because I try to infuse as much comedy into all my characters as possible, even with Fennec,” Wen tells us.

She continues, “I love it when the fans are telling me that they’re laughing at this line or the relationship that I have with Boba. It just makes the character so much more interesting.”

The Young Sheldon episode featuring Wen is scheduled to air on February 24 at 8/7c on CBS.

I had not been spoiled that Ming-Na Wen was appearing on Young Sheldon. I actually screamed out loud, "Oh my God, it's Ming-Na!" The show has been lacking this season, but she makes every show she's in so much better. 🙂 She shared a scene with Wendie Malick near the end of the episode that was terrific.

I always love seeing her on my screen.

TVLINE | How did this particular directing opportunity come to you? 
This is my dream show and my dream job, so I was gunning for a while to direct an episode. I love the superhero genre, and I kind of launched a targeted attack on Berlanti Productions [Laughs], aiming toward a lot of his shows. Superman & Lois is top of my list, so with my [directed] episode of S.H.I.E.L.D., I was able to get meetings with people over there and work my way through to getting to meet with [showrunner] Todd Helbing. I just love everything he does, I love what he says in the shows that he’s involved in, and I love Superman & Lois, so I basically just talked his ear off for an hour. I think that to shut me up he was like, “You can helm an episode!

TVLINE | The S.H.I.E.L.D. episode you directed of course handed you a doozy of a premise, and you in turn delivered one of TV’s great time loop episodes. What challenges did this episode of Superman & Lois present?
Thank you! It has a lot of fighting in it, and a lot of wire work, a lot of big green screen…. I’ve done green screen, but when I walked into this set I was like, “Oh!” I may have been overconfident.

TVLINE | Do you think that if you instead hailed from a procedural, you’d have been thrown by the amount of green screen, wire work, etcetera, or might you not have been pursuing an opportunity on a genre show?
It’s tough to know. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gave me many gifts, and one of them is the knowledge that I love fight scenes. I love consuming them as a viewer and I also love being there when they’re happening. I love stunt people and hearing how their minds work, and how diligent they are with training and creating these incredible, character-driven action scenes. I think what I love about Superman & Lois and some of these other superhero shows is you get the best of both worlds — in TV you get to know these characters over hours and hours and hours, so you care about them and you earn those very emotional moments. But then you also get to do this kickass fight scene with all his crazy stuff.
