If Sonny's opposition to seeing his parents split up and move on to other relationships were shown to be because of Sonny's ambivalence about the end of his own marriage, and his lack of closure on Will's death, or some wish for the simplicity and safety of an earlier time in his life when his parents were his model for marital success, and his personal proof that love really could conquer all, then I'd count it as a breakthrough; but I'm afraid swtrgrl is quite correct, and that's not the way the show will have it. Likewise, I think if Lucas were involved in a conflict with Sonny over Ari G's happiness, that could be really interesting and moving. So of course the show's not going to be interested in that.

There's a way to do it, but I get the sense Sonny will show up essentially to make eyes at Paul from the get-go.

Will's first gay kiss. He got drunk playing beer pong with him in HTS. Walked off and Neil followed him. Brilliant scene showing Will's pain and struggle with his homosexual urges. And Sonny saw the whole thing. It was all before Will really came out at all. 
Neil also provided Will's alibi for Stefano's "murder." They were together at The Spot when it happened. Neil came forward. Unfortunately, that's what outted Will to Roman...and then all of Salem.

They actually did a rewrite at one point where Sonny told Will that he knew he (Will) was gay when he saw Will kiss "my buddy Neil". There was no indication in that scene that Sonny and Neil even knew each other.  But I did love Will's reply, "That was gay?"

Brian Dattilo does sound like a nice guy.  And he's a good actor and important to the history of this show, whether regime after regime of writers recognize it or not.  This quote really got me:

"So, basically, Lucas is a tumbleweed."

I mean, they can't even give Lucas a throwaway line about what he does for a living or where he lives?  TIIC should be embarrassed.  Giving BD nothing for years and then throwing Lucas into a marriage with a judgemental shrew like Adrienne is not right.  (Nothing against JE - she sounds like a lovely person.)

I don't see how I could muster interest in them working out as a couple. I'm just waiting for Hurricane Sami to blow through. And is it just me, or is Bryan also thinking along those lines...?

If Sonny disapproves of Adrienne and Lucas getting married he would be giving her a taste of her own medicine since she was the leader of the I Hate Will club. And he would be inadvertently doing Lucas a favor if he managed to bust up that farce of a relationship.

I loved every bit of that interaction...where Will came out to Sonny. It was lovely. It was heartfelt (the thanks for helping me, I couldn't have gotten as far as I have without you). It was funny. 

But yes, that "my buddy" thing was stupid. They (the writers) forget their own background on characters.

I hope Hurricane Sami returns to Salem with proof Will is alive, and being held captive, by who else, but some idiot Dimera.  Sami wants Lucas to take care of Allie, Johnny, and Sydney while Sami and Kate go rescue Will.  Kate tells Lucas he is a fool if he doesn't reunite with Sami, Lucas points out Kate hates Sami, Kate tells Lucas considering his other choices for wives, Sami is the better option, and tells Lucas since he has gone to the light side, she needs Sami for her dark side as a co-conspirator.  Sami and Lucas get back together, Sami, Lucas and Kate go find Will, new show with them.

Does Chad know Sami stole money?? I know he was brainwashed into chasing after Belle, but I didn't catch whether that was about getting the money back, or if he remembered that after coming back to his senses.

Very true.  This show hasn't made sense in years.

Kate wouldn't have wasted time on Daniel, Rafe or Deimos.  Have sex with them yes.  Care about what they do, not really.  She would replace them with the next pretty boy that came along.  Kate is driven by power and money, not her emotions.  She'll constantly interfere in her children's lives, she's vindictive and will seek revenge in certain cases, but not for some idiot guy that can easily be replaced.

It would have made more sense for Sami to keep some of the Dimera money, and give some of it to Kate and Lucas, not Belle.

Tony has always been a grey character that always had a complicated relationship with Stefano. The show always used the Andre card to salvage Tony's character after he had been written into  a corner. JER never understood the character of Tony and wrote him him as a villain. Tony really being Andre never made any sense, since Andre was a psychopath..His obsession with Kristen never made any sense..Andre was a serial killer who enjoyed killing, he used to leave a calling card with his  dead victims...

I hope so.  I think "Harper" and "Duke" appeared to Jack for well over a year after their deaths.  This is a nice way to keep Stefano around and not having to worry about JM's stamina.  Plus, it sorta ends the laughable Stefano As Good Guy metamorphosis we saw over the past dozen years.
