But I was simply emphasizing that women often enjoy 25 or more years of fertility. And some of the examples being discussed upthread involve young women who became pregnant some time in the past, when young marriage was more common. My larger point is that there are many situations in which generations get "misaligned. " E. g., most of my first cousins are 25-30 years older than I, so their kids were my playmates. Here's another one: my oldest sister is exactly the same age as my sister-in-law, but my sister had a baby the same year my SIL became a grandmother. Those situations might be unusual, but they're not outside the realm of possibility. Yes. I remember being mystified that my Dad (at forty-one) had first cousins in their teens and early 20's. One of my playmates had an aunt who was younger than she was. My own first cousins were close to my age. Change-of-life babies weren't uncommon in those days, and they aren't now, either (especially with fertility doctors and treatments.) I'm actually a bit surprised that Joy hasn't announced a pregnancy yet. Will Jing or Kendra beat her to it? Time will tell. Link to comment

It's so sad to me that these young people are quickly tied down with babies and don't really enjoy what life has to offer before having children. Just shaking my head. 15 Link to comment

Its what they've been taught, and its all they know. You get married and knocked up ASAP. Jinger continues to be my favorite Duggar. I think her modernization might be Jeremy's influence. I really want to know what her sisters really think of her wearing pants. 8 Link to comment

How many people have siblings 20years their junior/senior because their father was an older parent. I'm one of those. Both my parents were divorced when they met, and since my dad is 15 years older than my mom, he already had 2 kids from a previous marriage, so there's a 20 year age gap between my oldest brother and myself. 3 Link to comment
