So the fence was a wrought iron fence that you could see into Cory's yard and hot tub about six feet away?  That is so not cool. An actual privacy fence would be mandatory for me.  I do not want a forced new 'best friend' in the hot tub next door.

The 'perfect kids' room' for a two year old?  I wouldn't feel safe leaving the kid alone in there for a few years yet. Who gives a two year old a ceiling high rock climbing wall and bunk beds? And a swinging chair?  The whole thing was obviously not for that couple and their daughter. The entire 'reveal' was make believe for the cameras.  But the swinging chair and the rock climbing wall would have to be removed and the ceiling/wall repaired and repainted afterward. Such a stupid idea for a house for sale.

Yeah, that glass table is not kid friendly. It's not really adult friendly. It's not outside friendly.  I am so tired of Karen's stupid projects.

I would really like to see the reveals share more of what the actual house design looks like and stop focusing on closeups of the knick knacks and pillow cushions etc. They pan so quickly through the actual design of the house that I have to hit pause to see any room at all. The loving closeups are all of the throw pillows and vases and table settings, etc. It's hard to see the actual rooms themselves.

I now fast forward through anything with Tad or Cory or Karen's 'finds' and projects so the show goes really fast for me. If I couldn't do that I wouldn't watch it at all.

^couldn't agree more with all your comments. Especially wrt the climbing wall for a, what, 3 year old? Accident waiting to happen. And pillows. SO MANY PILLOWS. They even sorta made that point by having to take the pillows off of the "piano bench" to actually see it. Who wants a bench with so many pillows that you can't sit on it?

Wrt the glass/driftwood table, the engineer in me wanted to know how they managed to cut it so that it sat flat and had a level surface for the glass. That's not trivial, at least to this all-thumbs person (though as I'm an engineer so I think about stuff like that).

Speaking of small child appropriateness (or lack thereof) I've never quite understood why having the main bedroom on a different floor is a selling feature to parents with very small children (ie. toddlers and babies). Kids get up in the night. Do you really want your tiny two-year-old having to prowl through an entire house (down stairs in the dark and past the kitchen in almost all the designs) to find you?

That's because all the "rooms" look exactly the same every single episode of every single series. If you've seen two episodes you've seen it all. There is no design in these houses. Just open concept downstairs, small loft like second floor common area, square bedrooms and bathrooms that are all 'designed' the same. No unique architectural features to set anything apart. Because of that they have to focus on everything, and anything, else.

speaking of the "small loft second floor common area," I couldn't believe they spent precious minutes talking about, and showing, that fold-up desk thing on the wall. Like it is actually useful to fold up? With a lamp, not to mention your papers or whatever on it? When you fold it up, where do you put the lamp? On the floor? Yeah, what a win!

I agree with everything you said.   My guess is the knick knacks, and other items are from their store, and they hope people will buy them.        The glass, tree stump table would have worked in a living room, but not outside.

The special projects, and stupid antics are a fast forward  for me also.    One of these days they're going to do some stupid stunt, and someone will be seriously hurt or killed.

Cory has a corner lot, so there may be restrictions on a solid fence for the front yard, but I bet they would put a privacy fence between Cory's house, this week's house, and going only on the fence line from the back lot line between the two houses, out to the sidewalk.

Agreed.  Why would Cory not have already had a privacy fence installed?

Does anyone know where exactly the lot is for their new HQ?  She said it was zoned commercial but, I know the view wasn't the best, it looked like there were houses on both sides of it.

I feel sorry for anyone living in that neighborhood - it's one thing to have offices, but if they have trucks and such coming and going, it'll be a nightmare.   It looked like the house to the left of it was undergoing renovations already since I could see the tyvek house wrap on it.   The lot didn't look that large if they have so much stuff in storage that they need a HQ with space to store it, so I wonder if that other house might be part of it?

Can you imagine the TV crews on filming days at the new office/warehouse location?   I'm sure that a big part of the new HQ will be for filming too.

From a quick search and not having gone through all their properties, it looks like it could be 1451 Charles Street. There appear to be houses on either side of the lot, but there's a church on the next block.

This sale was completed for $16,500 on August 25, 2020.

There's also 1445 right across the street that looks more open, and bigger.      But, both of them are in the middle of regular houses.       The mixed use zoning allows for high density in a lot of places, so I'm betting which ever lot it is, the neighbors will be living with a huge warehouse/office area, and I bet it will be at least two stories.

It doesn't look like the city really limits much except the percentage of open space on a property, and that was for residential, now reduced to 20% or so.  So, if the commercial space rules are similar it will be awful to live next to this.   There might be different rules on setbacks for warehouse space too.   I wonder if they'll try to buy neighboring properties, since the neighboring property owners may not want to live next to a giant warehouse space.  The neighboring home owners may want to sell now, because resale next to this complex will be awful.

They definitely weren't looking at 1451 Charles Street on the show.  After going back and rewatching, they passed the corner of East and Orange street and then they make it look like they turn right into the lot but it's not the lot they then show (it's a corner lot that is actually Orange Park). They then immediately show them standing across from this sign which isn't across from where they turned:

image.png.b7cd4f699857a3d9b68d215e88916449.png

But I can't make out what it actually says.  I think it's H _ _ mann another word, and then Home.  They then cut to an overhead that definitely isn't 1451 Charles Street.  There are houses on both sides of it and she says it's commercial so she can build lot line to lot line and go up two stories.

I'm beginning to think the lot they showed on the show is not the lot where they are going to build.  They never really show them and the lot at the same time.

A little more sleuthing and the lot they showed is at the corner of E Minnesota Street and S East Street.  It looks like the building on the left was "Bang A Salon" so maybe that lot is commercial but the lot on the right is definitely a house.

It seems like it's a really tiny lot though (unless the bought the lot to the left of them as well where Bang A Salon used to be).

The sign says Herrmann on the top line, and the bottom line (behind the fern) says Funeral Home. I hope their building and operations won't bother the mourners at the funeral home.

What became their District Co. store is down the street a little, and  I think the warehouse is next to the District Co. store.

Right next to the District Co, store is a new build right next door, and I think that's the warehouse.       There are a bunch of houses in a row across the street that look like Two Chicks houses, including a huge building that looks like their office space.    I'm wondering if the one next to the store is warehouse space only, and the other big two story is for offices or filming studios?    Then there are other houses that have to be their remodels.   I bet that's one reason they don't care if they smash into the houses next to their remodels, and later they say they just bought them.

My guess is they bought and remodeled a lot of houses on the same street, and have been buying up any land or house on the same street for a long time.    That's why they usually don't have a long shot around any of the remodels or new builds, and why the neighboring homes often look like they're being worked on.

Anyone notice at the end when they're showing the house, they mention the kitchen cabinet uppers and then zoom in and you can see that the cabinet doors weren't even/level.  The bottom of the cabinet doors didn't line up and it was obvious.  When they showed a view that wasn't close up I could still see it.

Yup and stopped tape rolled it back to play it for my spouse. Quality sucks. Maybe film crew is getting tired of their haphazard schtik and are getting even.

I agree with you.    You can tell when the camera crew and editors are sick of the performers' antics, and love to show every bit of bad construction.

I keep wondering if some of Tad's dangerous stunts, like pulling down chimneys and almost hitting people are irritating the camera crew?   or if some of cast aren't as pleasant to be around as they are trying to portray.

Two Chicks owns 1628 S East Street, the lot beside Bang (still in business). The lot was purchased for $10,900 in April 2020. It's 0.13 of an acre and is zoned for commercial.

Two Chicks District Co. is at 1531 S East Street. They also own 1527, two parcels to the left of the store. They don't own the parcels on either side.

Herrmann Funeral Home is on Madison Avenue.

The funeral home has two locations, one on Madison, and one on South East.   I don't know if the SE location is still operating though.     That is a very rundown neighborhood.     There are a bunch of obvious Two Chicks remodel houses across from the District Co store, and funeral home side, only one is an obvious new build on that side, but I bet the others sold a long time ago.    They look like the first few season designs.

You couldn't pay me to live on that street, the neighborhood looks kind of sketchy, and with the mixed zoning there's lots of noise reasons not to live there.   The Two Chicks idea of 'transitional' neighborhood scares me.

I'm wondering if they got smart, and have agents buying up properties in other holding company names, or other people's names, so sellers don't realize who is buying the property, and raising the price because they know the company wants properties cheap, and a lot together?

I'm getting bored with the Iron Timbers company's work.  Some like the wood and iron stair railing a several episodes ago are nice, but like the shelves on the commercial for this season don't impress me as anything special.

I didn't realize they had two facilities. The 1505 S East Street address is on their website. That's the one with the sign in the screenshot that @KeithJ posted upthread. It's on the same block as District Co., on the north end.

S East Street runs parallel with the sign and is the road in front of the sidewalk in bottom right of photo below. Weghorst is the cross street.

Tonight's new episode, "Major Mansion Makeover" for Justin Holiday, basketball player. 9,000 sq ft. main floor bedroom and ensuite.  $300k for the renovation.   Mrs. Holiday wants the pillars to go on the front porch.   This is Mr. Holiday's ninth team, and the first house they bought instead of rented. Some of the interior pillars are load bearing.  All of the original Vegas casino type light fixtures are going. There are even more pillars in the basement, and on the second floor cat walk. Mrs. Holiday wants the main bedroom/bath two sided fireplace gone.

I haven't heard any of them mention what they have to do to accommodate the husband's height, except getting a big ensuite tub for the husband.  House was purchased for $1.6 milion, after the $300k rehab, the house should be worth $1.9k in case they need to sell because he goes to another team.   Of course, Mr. Holiday and his brother show up for demo.

Having Cory climb at least 3 stories on the wobbly extension ladder was so unsafe.

Why didn't they donate the kitchen sink and island, instead of turning it over on the tile floor?  I already know why, they would rather mindlessly smash things, than donate them.    Some of the interior pillars are load bearing, but most aren't.   Yes, I realize they smash anything they can.

Those dead mice that came out of the basement pillar look awfully fresh for something found during demo that have supposedly been there for a long time.   When they closed the access for the mice, did they clean everything out?    If not, that's dangerous for the workers, and for the family.

Spoiler

He was with the Indiana Pacers, until Jan 2022 traded to Sacramento Kings, and July 2022 he's traded back to Atlanta).   The mansion sold in 10 days for $2.3 million.   So my guess is they decided to flip the house, and go on the show to get publicity.

So after they bring in over 300 boxes of flooring, they have to return all of it.   Legit or fake? My guess is totally fake.

Instead of replacing the exterior windows, they painted the frames black.   Will that paint last?     As always, Iron Timbers does a totally generic dining table.

They're only going to finish the bedroom on the first floor, main suite and bathroom, and then finish the lower level after they move in, and the other bedrooms.

I think the end product looks boring, and generic for the exterior.  The lighter interior paint looks better, but the lighting is awful. Kitchen is mostly white, and looks like every other TV reno show kitchen.  This is the house where a fancy back splash in the kitchen would have been appropriate.

The living room off of the kitchen looks smaller after redecorating. main bedroom and ensuite looked better before, except for the bathtub, and the shower looks better. after making it a real rectangle   It took three more weeks to finish the basement movie, and family room, plus the upstairs bedrooms.

I suspect this was all an advertisement to sell the house quickly.   Someone who has been on nine teams in their career, knows that they're not staying in Indianapolis.    It's also an ad for Mina changing to do upscale places, like the limited series that's starting soon, six episodes redoing a mansion.    Mina did say it would be another income stream redoing expensive houses for clients.   They could do 5 or 6 episodes on each huge house, and make filming easier, and do 2 or 3 houses a year for a full season.

I wonder what the new owners thought when they saw the mice, and the big voids on the back of the house, and saw no evidence of cleanup where the mice were running around for years?  I suspect that there were a lot more mice running in the walls of that house.

The exterior before looked dated, but the after didn't look much better either.  The  lights they claimed were so much better were too small, not enough light, and looked so generic.   I could do better shopping at a big box store for lighting, and I have no design skills at all.

My guess is someone on the team bought the house, it was empty by the time it was on the market, and a quick closing.    I wonder if they sold it furnished?

Although I have no desire to watch this show do more of this kind of thing, I did like the couple. I have no quarrel with them, they seemed nice enough. I keep hoping that they are not spending all his money on luxuries though -- that happens all too often. None of my business, but I get concerned about these young guys suddenly thrust into money surrounded by wives, girlfriends, other family and hangers-on who are only too happy to spend their money for them. Anyway...

It was a nice generic style update on a dated mansion.  As long as they are happy with it I have no problem with the result. I ffwd through Tad and Karen and Cory so I can't comment on that. I did see the flooring problem and I call BS. This kind of thing is producer driven in every episode. I don't doubt that the flooring they wound up with was the originally chosen flooring.  They need a new script.

If anyone here watches Love After Lockup (it's awful but I am so hooked) then you will understand when I say that Mina reminds me in a strong way of Lindsay on that show. Minus the felonies and ex con status, of course. The way Mina's face looks and moves and some of her head movements, mannerisms, are so like Lindsay it was really distracting. Also, I really really liked Mina's beautiful hair but this season it seems like she has added so extra long ratty extensions. There is just hair in there hanging down her back that doesn't look like her regular hair at all. She has such great natural hair I don't understand the need to add extensions to it.

The kids as always are adorable.

Why would anyone want to give away all that cash for a house that looks like a place someone flipped and sold for $250k? If I'm splashing out $2.3 million I don't want to be able to walk into a big box store or an under 400k new build and see my house.  If I had the money I'd want originality, style, architectural details. In other words, things pretty much never seen on HGTV.

The Big Red Urban Barn was listed for $294k, under 1500 sq ft, 4 bed 2 bath,

I really disliked the mixed metals, bathroom ensuite had black, gold/brass, in the same room.  marble that will stain, and the upstairs landing looked like nothing but doors.

Does Mina have to call everything that's on the small side 'a little nugget'?

"An Itty Bitty Beach Bungalow" Adler Street home, $34000, 1 bed 1 bath, 800 sq ft, and hope to make it 2 bed 1 bath.   Adler is where  Cory's house is, and the people next door to Cory's hot tub.

Because Cory went under contract so fast in the build process, his house was worth more by the time it was finished than he paid for it, the next house really didn't make money either, so Mina thinks this small house will make a profit.

Every profit goes to their warehouse on South East.  Then Austin and MJ have to hunt for items in their multiple conex and storage units, and talk about how they need the warehouse.   So, does the warehouse build start next week?    So, does the warehouse space have a back loading dock?  Or will they block the street everytime they load and unload?

A young doctoral student will buy the house, so they'll tailor it to her taste.

Finished house is nice, tiny, at least it has somewhere to sit and eat, a two stool breakfast bar.    Why didn't they make the breakfast bar/island twice as long, for four stools, and more storage?   So, there is back alley parking, so I guess Cory, the other house they did, and now this house have somewhere to park.   The first/main bedroom and ensuite bath are nice, but calling the converted porch a second bedroom is ridiculous, it's barely an office size.   I don't like the ensuite wall tile, or the double free standing sinks have zero counter space.  $34 purchase, reno $131k, under contract for $204k, and I think a $30k profit.

Itty Bitty house:

First of all, there is like three feet of space between the wall of this house and the huge house next door, paved with a walkway. No privacy fence is even possible between those houses. That would be a huge no to me. Also, they didn't build a privacy fence around the other side of the property so I have no idea where the property line between it and the empty lot next door is but since it's empty there's no telling what monstrosity might wind up there in the future. Right now it's just vacant semi-public space.  I hate the entire positioning of this house. There is a backyard fence (cheap looking) but no fencing of the property itself. It's like the house is tiny and completely takes up the entire side to side of the lot it's on from the perspective of anyone walking by it. You could literally have neighborhood kids playing right next to your house in the lot. Where is the property line?  How do you keep folks from hanging out right next to your house? This just bugs the hell out of me.

Why would you install an enormous shelving unit on top of the little counter space you have in the small kitchen?  And then MJ deposits a tiny step stool in front of it so you can reach the tallest cupboard space. On the floor between the counter and the island and between the refrigerator and the sink.... left there it is less a helpful stool and more of a soon to be emergency trip to the hospital. The cupboard is just looming over everything and would have been better as an upper cabinet with counter space below. These people, I swear. The buyer: "I love open shelving. But I like how it's open but still closed!"  Sigh. It's a humongous cabinet, not open shelving that is 'closed'. Just wait until she tries to find a space for her toaster and coffee maker. Which Mina helpfully suggested be placed inside the cabinet?  So even she realizes that counter space has been wasted.  I have a tiny kitchen so I am very conscious of kitchen space. lol

Cracked me up that the book on the desk was opened to the middle somewhere as a photo design object and Mina changed it to the back hard cover opened only. It was such a weird choice. No one ever left a book open to the blank page pasted to the back cover of a hard cover book. What was she thinking there?

I agree about the lack of fence, and privacy.     I would bet that the empty lot is owned by Mina.   This is their third house on the same section of the block, with the other two (Cory's, and the one they showed backing up to Cory's house, with him in the hottub), and I'm betting Mina owns anything empty, vacant lots, or in bad repair on the steet.   If that's the case, then I wouldn't be surprised to see some multilevel monstrosity built either this season, or next.  If you look at the long shot for Mina's house, it dominates her part of the street, but her mother's and Mina's old house are side-by-side too.

Since the city doesn't seem to have height restrictions, and they can now cover 80% of the lot with house, I predict a lot more giant Kleenex boxes being built on that street.

That kitchen barely deserves the name of 'kitchen' with almost zero counter space, and only two bar stools for seating on that tiny island.     That second "bedroom'" was a joke, I'm not sure you could get a futon or even a double bed in that room.   The bathroom shower tile looked like clearance stuff.

I wish they would build that warehouse, so they can stop talking endlessly about the cost of storage, and how inconvenient it is to find things.    I guess they never heard of an inventory with locations?      They could have found some out of business grocery store, or bigger store, and just converted that, instead of building a place that will be more accessible.

Where the hell are all the employees going to park for that giant warehouse/office - on the street?   Wow - I bet the neighbors just love this.

Most of those storage containers seemed pretty empty which makes me think that they had already built their monstrosity when they filmed parts of the show (at the point of the Itty Bitty house anyway).

I think you're right about the mostly empty conexes, and already moving stuff into the warehouse.    The storage they showed could easily have been consolidated together, and eliminate a lot of the rented storage containers.

Good point about employee, and other parking.    However, behind the building it seems to have parking off of the alley, behind what has to be their warehouse/offices.   I'm hoping they'll have to load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles behind the building, and park their private vehicles there too.      Mina kept saying that the building was going to be a warehouse, and offices, so I guess customer design meetings will be there too, unless they're going to have separate offices in another building on the same block.   Why did they need a second floor deck for offices?

There is what looks like a new build, with a Two Chicks sign in front,  across from the funeral home, and up the street from the Design Co. building. It has a blue tarp on the Google overhead map, and there is what looks like parking behind the building, off the alley.    However, I'm guessing a lot of the parking will be trucks loading and unloading behind the buildings.      That building is across the street from the funeral home, and in a whole row of what have to be previous Two Chicks remodels.    Except I think they're calling it Easy street, and E Street on the show.

There's also a huge store, that was a mattress store, with what looks like other stores attached, and all closed, right across the street from Two Chicks/District Co. store, that would have been a great place to convert to warehouse space, and I bet it already has parking, and loading areas.    Of course, they would rather build some ginormous warehouse complex.

Since everything they build is so expensive, and they want to change to redoing mansions, then they should dump the statement about redoing rundown homes.   When you redo a home and turn it into a short term rental, or their Airbnbs (they own some), or other profit making businesses, then stop saying you're broke, or doing anything to help the community.

Their “storage units” are just shipping containers randomly placed across the city?

And that wood cabinet in the kitchen?  Not only does it look terrible, what a waste of counter space!

I was surprised at that too.  I can't believe they didn't have an exact inventory of each conex too.   Bet when everything was moved into the warehouse, that they still didn't have an inventory with location, numbers and a brief description of each item.

Looks like the HQ is at 1628 S East Street:

Google says it's TCH Inc. and the lot is the one they showed Mina and her family at.  The photo of the front also looks a lot like what the architects showed during the episode.

Google doesn't have new satellite imagery yet or a street view photo but that photo was provided by the owners.

Wow - all that on one narrow lot?  Was this one built before or after the allowable building size was increased to 80% of the lot in Indianapolis?

It is interesting that on Google's map view the building foot print is shown and the Bang A Salon lot has two monster buildings on it now and several buildings in the area seem to cross the lot lines (though Google may not show them accurately).

The 80% was for residential I think.  Since the warehouse is in a mixed zoning area, I bet it's classified as a business use, so who knows what the rules are now.   So the only access I see is on the back for loading, unloading, and parking is from the alley access.    However, there are still a bunch of other Two Chicks remodels and already sold properties on S. East across from the funeral home, and up the street from their District Co. store and bar.

The salon is listed as closed, I hate to see a neighborhood store go out of business.

Warehouse building, tonight.     So, Mina decides to put a locker room upstairs for the demo crew.    So, I guess since she keeps saying 'guys' that women need not apply any longer?      So, they dump the leases on the storage units, so only have two weeks to finish the warehouse space upstairs, for all of the storage stuff, and two weeks after that their office space lease is up.

So, next crisis is where they were storing all of the design stuff, they now have to store all of the District Co. stock, so reducing the design/furniture stuff space.   S East st., I wonder if they plan anything, ever, or just fumble along changing their minds constantly, and again showing they can't plan anything.  So, MJ and that stuff go upstairs.   They were going to have a play area for the kids up there, but now it's on the first floor, next to Mina's office.   The building name will be "HQ".    I wonder what the building next door, two story, with air barrier (or whatever you call it) is for?     They want top of the line appliances too.    What a waste of money.

The gigantic co-working space with a kitchen as big as my entire house, with a giant living room, and dining table is so ridiculously over-sized.     I really dislike the giant flower murals too.  So, is the HQ first floor supposed to be to show potential customers what their home can look like?    It's ridiculous to keep changing the floor plan around when you are on a short timeline because they already cancelled the storage and office space leases.   Or is that another made up timeline?

So what do they use for their filming set for the behind the scenes filming?   They didn't add anything to the HQ, there isn't room at District Co., so are they just using a backdrop?

I get that this is mostly a design show but after going on and on and on all season about how they need more storage space in a central location, they don't even give us a final shot of the storage space in HQ?  Yes, it's just storage but I would have liked to have seen just how big it was because, from what they did show, it didn't really seem all that big.

Even worse, the design area for MJ was half District Co. storage, and so he was bounced to the area on the second floor, and his sample and design room on the second floor looked tiny, but Mina claimed it was a better space with more light.    So, for design meetings he'll still have to haul everything up and down stairs.

Also, any storage on the second floor means that everything will have to be dragged up and down stairs.  They needed something like some of the closed businesses on the same block, do a minimal remodel, and just take things in and out of the back door, no stairs.  There are plenty of empty businesses on the same block that would work much better for storage.   I know the front had several steps to the main door, but maybe the back door entrance didn't?

The huge co-working space confused me, what is the real purpose?   It had a huge dining table, sitting area, bar stools at the huge kitchen island, plus a bunch of tables for two.   That wasn't co-working space, it was something else.   It looked more like an event space.

They needed a real plan by a real design professional.   My guess is that soon we'll hear how the business has grown, so they have to put another storage building next door to the warehouse / office HQ building.

Where's the accessibility for clients and (future) employees? Everything is steps - into the building, to the offices, to the back lot - with standard doorways and narrow turning points hemmed in by cluttered walkways/workspaces.

I'm a regular person with a history of being a klutz. I'm not sure I could safely navigate that space on crutches with full leg braces/casts or deal with shoulder braces and doorways in and out of bathrooms. My elderly parents wouldn't be able to navigate the space for client meetings and such.

Maybe this has been answered before, but whatever happened to Mina's half-sister Kelsey?  She used to be shown occasionally working in the office.

She worked there for three years, and since left to be a senior project manager at Studio Science.  She also married her boyfriend, who bought the house with her that was shown on the show.

Tad does call Karen mom, because after his mom died he went to live with her.   Trying to figure out the who is related to who, is rather confusing.   The articles are so inaccurate.

I agree with all of this. I thought maybe they'd put in an elevator. Nope. I said out loud, "Where are people going to work?"

And two bathrooms for the whole place.

Started watching Risky Business last night (fell asleep).  Mina said she wants to use the house (929 Sanders Street, Indianapolis, IN) as a B&B or a place where they can host events (weddings, etc). Isn't this a house in the middle of a residential area?  I'm sure she wouldn't mention it (or have bought the property) if it wasn't already zoned that way but I'd be pretty upset if I was a neighbor of that house.

Looking at Google maps, there is a small driveway and only street parking.  How is she going to open a B&B or an event hall with no parking?

Tad is actually Mina's half brother through her father, but when his mother Cheryl (not sure of the spelling) died, Tad went to live with Karen, and he calls her Mom now.    Tad's mom married Mina's dad twice, and then she married Lenny, the contractor from the first season, so that was Tad's stepfather.

Why do I bet Mina has her own bathroom and shower in her office?  Those co-working spaces were huge, I hated the wall murals, and they don't even have enough staff to fill the kitchen/living room/dining spaces.

I turned on House Hunters too soon, and saw the last few minutes of the Mansion makeover.   Do they really think that showing they can't order windows, or balconys, or french doors without screwing it up is going to impress people?   I wouldn't put french doors, and juliet balconies on the second floor of an event space, I can image drunk guests launching out the windows, over the balconies.

They already own a bunch of Airbnbs, and have built what are obviously short term rentals for clients (the Italian villa one with the coffee mural, and anything with only a few bar stools, and no dining room make me think they're short term rentals).    Also, renting during Indy month can pay thousands for that one month alone.

I bet wedding venues will only need catering, and very few staff, so food and equipment gets dropped off, and staff probably either Uber, or get vans, so they just drop off and the vehicle leaves.

I bet many guests will get an Uber, or party buses,   Unfortunately for the neighbors, short term rentals are not limited in any way in Indiana, and the state has laws that stop cities from banning short term rentals.   Some states the owner has to register the rental, but not all.

What is the title to the episode where they show the warehouse inside? I must FF too much because I missed it

(It's called Two Chicks Forever Home. Oddly enough it's episode 3 of Season 7, they're showing them all out of order.)

Ok, finished the first episode of Risky Business last night and I'm not that impressed.  I'm sure they didn't want it to come off this way but I thought the episode kinda made Mina look a little incompetent.

She originally estimated that renovations on the property were going to be $500,000.  Almost immediately in the show she finds out they are going to be closer to $600,000.  After meeting with her contractors, she finds out that renovations are going to be over $750,000.  How can you be so far off with your original estimation?

Later, Mina starts breaking up all of the concrete on the front of the property.  She is told that it's not in the scope of work but she insists that it should be and continues on.  After back and forth I guess they get it added to the scope for an extra cost.

The glass garage doors have a lead time of 18 weeks on them and Mina is just like "no, no, no".  I'm not familiar with construction and design but, if you're on a time table like she is (they need to start renting the back house to pay for the renovations on the main house), don't you make sure you can get all the materials before you start renovations?

Towards the end, the incorrect windows were installed on the rear house.  Who is managing this project?

A few other notes.  None of her normal crew is there (I'm guessing the project is too big for them) so everything is being contracted out.

If anyone is interested, here is the listing for the property (with many pictures) on airbnb:

So if I watch this will I end up missing Tad and his antics?  Corey?

MJ and Austin are okay. They shouldn't have to run a preschool for grownups with power tools in the middle of a construction site.

Thanks for the listing.     However, I was interested in what's not included.  No air conditioning, no security cameras, no little baskets of shampoo, etc. included, it also say no heating?   I hope that means the heat is centrally controlled, and so is the air conditioning, and not changeable by visitors.

So, the NBA player's house could be done by the usual crew, but not Mina's private project?
