The animosity between Jess and Xmas really comes from a misunderstanding of a conversation the two had one evening. Xmas was telling Jess that she realized she was separate from Cody but it did not appear so to others and she should think about distancing a little but so others knew it. From what I heard of the conversation, and I wont claim to have heard everything, Xmas never literally said she was coming after Cody and Jess. Just Cody was her target. Jess insists she did say it right to her face and told the others that. Xmas see this as lying about her because she never said such a thing.

Jess can not forgive Xmas for coming after her on national TV. Especially when she firmly believes Xmas said those things to her.

Look, I'm well aware of Paul being loud and irritating. However he's popular for a reason and that's because he's intensely loyal. I will forever maintain my position that Natalie absolutely ruined her game by choosing to go with Nicole and Corey instead of Victor and Paul. Those guys were LOYAL. What's interesting to me about Paul this season is he has no ride or die yet. I'm hoping it turns out to be Alex. I'm rooting for Alex to win the season and feel that hitching her wagon to him will go a long way to accomplishing that.

He's popular because he's entertaining. He brought the funny last season that James never could. The problem is that when Paul isn't playing up the actual funny entertainment (such as the bodyguard gag last season which was actually hilarious, or even some of his other antics with Pablo), he's not really that good. He hasn't brought the funny this season, because he's a vet, which means he doesn't feel like he can just sit back, not play the game for entertainment, and be chill. He has to be on, he has to be thinking game, and he has to be playing. He's just playing too hard, too fast, and too aggressively. Telling people what to do, threatening them, blackmailing them, and bullying them (yes, he is absolutely verging into bullying territory with Ramses) is not fun. The problem is that his minions are either ignoring this side of him and wanting to do what he wants, or they know that he's safe for another week and a half so they have to just pretend to go along with everything he's doing. Honestly, I have to see where the true loyalties lie once his safety's up. It's hard to tell right now because his alliance is very loyal to him, and I can't tell if they're going to stay loyal past week 3 or if they'll turn on him. I'd like to think it's the latter, but we've seen stupid houseguests stay loyal to vets before.

Paul's loyalty is to a fault with him. I think Christmas is the closest to his ride or die, since he's been ferociously protecting her and talking game, but he has nobody to reel him in and calm him down like Victor did. I think once Victor came back into the house, he helped with Paul (not completely, but him being there helped). Without Victor, Paul played exactly how he is now. He doesn't have that person this season, and I don't see anyone being that person for him because many of them are enabling him (Matt, Christmas, Mark) or they're on the other side of the house so Paul doesn't have complete trust in them to be his loyal ally (Alex, Kevin, Jason).

Dom is giving Mark advice.  He came to her because he was missing his mother and needed help. He is also falling for Elena. She gave advice about choosing love.  He has to be careful to guard his heart and only go with someone who understands him.  Your heart is open because you are vulnerable.  Don't let your heart go just because it feels good.  You will meet good people but they may not be good for you.

Mark is grateful for their friendship and so is Dom, no matter how much jealously this produces, she adds!

Dom doing a good job poisoning Mark against Elena.  This is definitely a "secret alliance".  She is making him distrust her more and more. And he is thanking her for it.

She sure is.  She finished the conversation telling Mark to come talk to her after Elena is asleep!   Okay, they are an alliance of 2 for sure.  She also said she hopes to get attention for her motivational speaking from her apple room shows.

Oh, and god gave Mark the ability/gift of being vulnerable.

I didn't know they were told.  It is no surprise they want to get him out.  Everyone lies but I get it that this was sleazy and not necessary.

Quote

Ramses said he saw a plane with a banner that said Dominique and Mark are working together. It didn’t happen but, usually, production will let lies stand. In this case, BB19 intervened and let the houseguests know it didn’t happen. Mark and Dom aren’t happy with the lie, and other HGs now view Ramses as someone who could lie about them next. Whoops!

Next temptation.

Quote

The winning houseguest will be tempted with the Halting Hex! Whether on the block or not, they can halt any one of the next four evictions during the live show, making it a non-eviction night. But remember, every temptation comes with a consequence.

Are you sure about production telling everyone that Ramses lied ?? I just don't see them getting involved that way. Others have lied about banners before.I thought that other HG's that were outside, Kevin, said you could not read anything.

It was in an article posted on twitter.  I will see if I can find it again.

Jess didn't make all victim noises. She dropped some truth bombs that has Paul shook. She bluntly told him the game is stacked for him and he has a house full of minions willing to do his bidding

He is very mad at her for saying that and have harped on it to everyone since their conversation ended. They find the idea incredulous proving Jessica's point

In hindsight, she should've used some tact but whatever. She was already enemy number two

To be fair, I checked out and went to bed not long after the "I was so concerned for Christmas and she was such a bitch to me" (part one). Paul gave her some actual good advice, even though he was his usual Paul self and dropped a "dude" every 5.2 seconds. He made solid points about how she can says that she had such good relationships with Elena and Mark but in reality, she's only known them for 14? 18? days and the same goes for Cody. There was a lot of Paul mixed into his advice but that was the kind of veteran talks to newbie player conversation that should be taking place, not Paul's "Let me tell you how to play the game because I've played before therefore expert" usual.

While I was going from a snarky point of view, and I think I captured their voices in the beginning of the conversation pretty well - you can never have too many VICTIM NOISES - it is pretty clear that Jessica has done this to herself but continues to blame other people and doesn't know how to separate game from personal feelings and probably won't be able to the whole game. She really truly believes that what Christmas did, calling her out on the live show during her speech, was the meanest, most personal thing that anyone could have ever done. It wasn't even close to some of the better live show moments we've had (Austin's eviction, GM saying "Get to steppin'!", etc.).

Jessica's in a no-win situation right now. And I think talking to Paul was definitely the wrong move if she wants to get back into gen pop in the house and not be the pariah but she did it and when she did it, she did Cody's favourite thing: VICTIM NOISES.

Maybe one reason they nap all day is that this crowd seems to get up earlier than most of the other seasons I've had the feeds.  8:31 am and they are all out of bed.  And if I never see Kevin reach down into his pants to adjust his package while waiting desperately for the bathroom again, I'll die a happy woman.

What does the sign on the bathroom door say?

There was supposed to be a No Napping from 10 am to 10 pm rule to ensure that there were actual awake bodies on the feeds during the time when most people would watch the feeds, but it seems that they're letting it slide more and more. At least all the good shit isn't taking place at 2:30 am like every season before this one. I know my sleeping schedule has been a lot better this season thanks to the new rule!

The sign on the bathroom door is just an Occupied/Unoccupied. People don't usually use it. It's funnier to just walk in on someone on the toilet (or you know, knock to see if anyone is in there, but there's a few surprise visits every season).

Tangential random thought...

I was watching the "talk show" tonight, and I couldn't stop thinking about how difficult those half-apples on the wall must be to clean.  Gah!  I hate decor that creates unnecessary dusting work.

The closest thing anything comes to getting "cleaned" in the BB house  would be if production started putting itty bitty swiffer pads on the ant's feet.  Now THAT would be  some product placement I could get behind.

Remember the (not so) genius idea last year to have the bathroom floor be faux sand.  :::shudder:::

Kevin is freaking out about the ants.  He says everyone is going to get sick.  They did survive Raven's cooking though so they'll probably survive the ant invasion.

From... ants? Ants make you sick now? They're just extra protein! (I'm gagging as I write that, because we just started our yearly giant black flying ant season.)

Speaking of Raven's cooking, I was dying last night during Dominique's talk show when Raven was talking about how she liked to cook for everyone because even though she can't eat everything, she loves to make people happy and the looks on their faces when they eat the food she lovingly prepared makes it all worth it. I guess "happy" is Raven-talk for trichinosis and salmonella.

She overly cooks meat!  No disease, just revulsion at eating a chicken breast boiled in tomato sauce, sprinkled with canned cheese, named Chicken Parm.   Same thing with the pork, stewed in onion juice in the oven.  At least she didn't name it anything.

I'm starting to come around to Alex and even Jason. They see both Cody and Paul for the despicable people that they are. I wish they were better game players and I wish Jason wasn't as loud and obnoxious. I like that they both realize that Cody wants to use them to get out the girls so he can "have an easy Battle Back", so to speak.

Again, even Cody, a complete asshole, is more self aware than the Minions (I FINALLY have an alliance name to call that side of the house!).

Cody going on about Ramses lying about voting Jillian out.  Earlier Alex told Jason that the other side told her that they were suspicious that Kevin was really the one who voted Jillian out.  Jason said it was just their way of trying to fuck with Alex.  Alex is not bringing the Kevin thing up right now.  Ramses is never going to overcome this.

12 minutes ago, zorak said:

Alex told Kevin to talk into her microphone and tell her exactly what happened in 1972.  Not sure what she's talking about.  Then Ramses offers up this brilliant gem:  "Columbus sailed the ocean blue".  Sigh.

And when she said, "No, that was Columbus," Ramses responded with, "really?  I didn't know that."

Bleach is toxic and only good for whites in the washing machine.  I wonder why no one, in production, googled and found the easy solution, which is mint.  Since there is no soil there, you cannot plant it but you can spray a combination of mint oil or extract and water and spray it all around the base of the foundation (slab) before they move in.  It will have to be refreshed from time to time but the HGs can be told to do that.  Ants hate mint.  Most who deal with ants know this!

There are also little killer pellets to sprinkle outside.

There's a lot of natural ways to get rid of ants. Not just mint, but citrus or lemon, tea tree oil, cinnamon, or even vinegar. I actually use vinegar and mix it with water to wash my floors during the summer. It's not a permanent solution, but if production forced them to at least spray the bases with these natural remedies, then they'd probably have less ants to worry about. That, and cleaning up after themselves.

Kevin was in a good position but he's playing a dangerous game and I'm not sure it's the kind of game that can go super deep.

I thought Kevin was doing well, but he is actually all over the place and possibly insane lol. He tells the wrong people way too much.

I just don't see Dom going after Paul. She is a single with good side alliances. Mark, Xmas, Paul. She needs these guys to ride the season out. No hurry to get rid of them.

Yea, Dom is one of the least likely to go after Paul imo and really I can hardly blame her. I'd lol if she did try to go after him though and he told everyone she's a nuclear engineer.

I can't wait until Paul's safety is over so we can see if these people are really drinking his kool-aid or not. It would be kind of hilarious if after 3 weeks of, "Paul, you are out Lord and savior!" they're all like, "Well, Paul's gotta go, amirite?!"

Not gonna lie, I loved reading about Jessica explaining to Paul how easy he has it, what with his three weeks of safety and everyone being up his butt. Boy, did he get pissy about that! Nice job, Jessica!

I need to flashback to this. Does anyone have a time?

She thinks if she, Kevin, and Jason can stick together and play along with the others and gain their trust, Paul will want to keep them around so they can do Paul's dirty work for him.

Sigh. See, this is why I fear that even when Paul's safety is up he'll still walk around running the place. These people!

ETA: Is this the first time the HGs have actually went through and cleaned out the kitchen at the first sign of ants? I believe it might be. Good for them!

I agree, I clean my house with vinegar/water solution for everything.   I have tried the things you mentioned on ants and they repel them for a limited amount of time.  The nifty thing about mint is they just don't even come in.  They say, no thank you and go elsewhere.  It should be done before ants usually invade to really fix the problem.

Josh was talking to the camera.  He said he has complete loyalty to Paul and Christmas and he has a loyalty with Jason.  It cut to fish for a little while but when it came back Josh said his strategy is to make it to jury and he just needs to lay low.  He realizes that he does a lot of the talking but nobody really talks game to him so he needs to be all ears and plant seeds.  He thinks that the outsiders think he's not with them but that it's not true.  He has to distance himself and make it seem like he's with the 7 otherwise he's going to get picked off.  Maybe Josh is a little more self aware than I thought regarding his position with Paul's group.

  • Love 2

Josh doing his daily soliloquy. I actually like this guy. And NO !!! I am not his Mom. LOL. I think he has a game plan and is biding his time. He knows he has messed up, but he is working his way back. Knows he is coming across as weak and a baby ( says that is true) but he is getting it together. Has plans. Would like to play out with Xmas and Paul. See Kevin Jason and Marlena in the end.

Talking about his houseguest and saying nice things about almost all of them. This guy has a big heart and is learning a lot about himself .

I really want to see him get the Hex of Halting Temptation. Put some power in his hands.  I guess I have some campaigning to do !

Apparently Raven was complaining about Christmas talking about her foot. She has got to be kidding me with that! I figured eventually Raven would get pissed about Christmas' injury taking away sympathy from her.

ETA: Paul is telling everyone how there won't be a buyback because they wouldn't do the same thing. I can't wait for the buyback because I need this guy knocked down several pegs.

OK wait, the way Paul and co. are talking now Paul's temptation is to be safe 3 random weeks? I thought he was just safe for the first 3 weeks. What the fuck this is ridiculous. ETA: Or at least they seem to be under the impression that because he won HOH he still has 2 weeks after this one of safety. They better be wrong about this.

From a Reality Blurred article:

Quote

“This Week’s Temptation
The winning Houseguest will be tempted with the Pendant of Protection. If they accept, they will be protected from being nominated or evicted for the next three evictions, but, remember—every temptation comes with a consequence!”

The source of that quote was taken from the CBS website. Bolding mine.

Nice try, Paul.

Paul was just telling people that he plays an honest and trustworthy game.  I've heard him say this multiple times, which is funny to me considering that the other day he was telling them how you cannot trust people who try to tell you what kind of person they are because if they have to tell you how they are, they're lying about it.  So when Paul repeatedly tells people how honest and open he is as a player I feel like that's the exact behavior he's warning against.
