I haven't even finished watching it yet but I heard Ramsay say JJ Redick and I got so excited OMG I have never loved a basketball player more.  Like I can tell you off the top of my head his name is actually Jonathan Clay, his middle initial isn't J.  I love him.  His wife pffft.  He looked super uncomfortable though.

Ryan can stop talking any time now.

I knew the women were going to win the challenge because of the talking head with Kimberley when she looked clean, all made-up with a different bow in her done-up hair.  Bad form, show.

Man I would never want that medic to work on me if I cut my finger and passed out.  Not much urgency there.

We never saw any blood.  I suspect there wasn't any.  There was no cut.  That was no medic.

Knew that the editing monkeys made it look like it was life threatening in the previews last week..

Frankly I think he probably should have axed Shaina.

I know non-elimination episodes have become the norm now, but I agree.  Shaina would've been a decent choice for the chop.  But for Wendy to bomb her own challenge-winning dish?  I can't say that wouldn't have been an elimination-worthy trespass, either.

So was this week the first week that a chef has been called over to the other kitchen during service?  I suspect that Ramsay called Wendy over because it was her own dish that Andrew messed up.

I'm glad the women finally got another challenge win.  They deserve it after all of those punishments.  And Wendy deserved having her dish be put on the menu, because that looked delicious!  So it just strikes me as terrible that she fucked up so badly.

Well!  There was a mention of desserts again, so it proves that they still are making desserts!

Paulie claimed that he was humbled by being nominated last week.  But let's see if he sticks with that mindset.

Well, it looks like Kimberly really has shot up the strength totem pole on the women's team.  It looks like Heather, Heidi, and Ryan are seen as the strongest ones during service now, with Kimberly right behind them.  Looks like Shaina and Wendy fell beneath her.  I wonder how they'll do on the men's team?

As for the men, I still can't root for any of them other than Devin.  But Paulie seems like the strongest one there, then Andrew, and then . . . a four-chef pileup for third place among Johnny, Matt, Devin, and Koop.  It'll be interesting to see how Andrew and Matt fare on the women's team.

I really would've rather had an elimination, as it's what dragged down this episode.

Yes.  Andrew (just before he asked Whatsherface if she wanted to make out with him) did a voice-over in which he said, "This can't get serious or anything, because I have a fiancee at home.

Snuff-dipping pig.  And stupid, too.  Does he not SEE that camera and microphone as he's touching her breasts and suggesting she remove her bra?

So I wonder if he ever got married, or if the engagement is still on.  Whoever she is, she can do better.  Like staying single would be better.

I was extremely annoyed by boo-hoo Koop.  (I fell down a flight of steps at work, finished my shift, and then went to medical where they put my broken arm in a cast.)  Maybe this wimp with his invisible finger trauma should have asked for "service b**ches" to cover for him. (Still mad at him for that comment in a previous ep.)

Random note: if you're a regular viewer of cooking shows, do you notice how many unexplained bandaged fingers you see during prep?  Obviously it's a hazard of the trade.

Wish the producers hadn't already pre-decided to do the team switch.  I would have kicked Shaina out for her nasty screaming. Who wants to work with that?

And poor Koop was so overwhelmed by his traumatic (covered with a rubber finger cover) injury that he had to go lie down and step back and decide if he really wanted to stay.  Ironic that he had to have that conversation with himself while everyone else was working on cleaning shrimp, grinding grits, etc.  This guy doesn't seem to understand that leadership requires the respect of those being led.  He has shown nothing worthy of respect this season.

There should have been an elimination which would be Shaina. Dick move by Andrew cheating on a woman he is about to marry, but I would expect that from him. Starting to dislike Johnny less and Andrew more, either Heidi or Ryan will win the whole thing.

Yep, I would totally dump the "fiance" who found it acceptable to flirt with another woman when he was weeks away from being married to me, *on camera*.  This would tell me, when *wouldn't* he think it appropriate to pretend he didn't have a serious female relationship??  Any time I wasn't standing in front of him?  Disgusting.

If the wedding hasn't already taken place, I'm pretty sure there have been some serious discussions since last night as to whether to continue with the planning.  And if it HAS taken place, I suspect (and HOPE) that Andrew is in deep doo-doo.

I would agree with you about Koop except I worked with a industrial nurse who could handle all sorts of blood but one day she pricked her finger and fainted dead away.  She later admitted to me she could handle anything BUT the sight of her own blood.

I understand that some people are like that.  I just thought his behavior AFTER the incident was based more on his desire not to work than it was on any after-effects of his injury.

Eww, one of the women actually made out with Andrew?  The guy's a pig.  Who was it?

It was Heather, the platinum-blonde, full-figured woman with black streaks in her hair.

full-figured woman

I don't mean to be unkind, but she is way past "full figured". For no apparent reason I once received a Lane bryant catalog in the mail, and those ladies were really full figured and looked pretty good and attractive (my personal taste runs towards slim women). Heather to me is not in the range, but Andrew is no prize, either in appearnce or in maybe cheating on his fiance. They deserve each other.

When did this show turn into Gordon Ramsay meets Jerry Springer?

Oh - that's right.  A long time ago.

Still like Gordon, though.  (Actually, I've had a soft spot for Jerry after seeing him on Dancing with the Stars, where he wanted to learn to waltz for his blind daughter's wedding.)

Did any of you watch Top Chef when Hosea (who eventually won) was making out with a woman on camera? While engaged to be married? She dumped his ass so I hope Andrews's fiance does the same.

I'm still having trouble telling half of the guys apart. Maybe because I listen more than watch, and they all sound the same. Ditto for half the women.

Shaina is clearly around to bring the drama at this point.

Andrew, I have figured out which one he is. He's the type that talks big and chokes every service. (Which, truthfully, is most of them.)

I'm still watching, but as with most seasons, not sure why.

So, 7 episodes in and I just went to the "Meet the Chefs" section of the Fox website, because I still can't remember most of the guys names and it's hard to read the comments when you don't know who people are talking about. Paulie isn't even on the Meet the Chefs page. That's weird, right?

Andrew is a douche. I hope his fiance dumped him. I also hope that he gets his ass handed to him by the women. I imagine he'll be around for a while longer, but he's the guy who's entire goal a few episodes ago was to make the girls cry. And, Matt looks like he is constantly suppressing a rage tantrum which makes him a little bit scary.

It's hard to say how this is all going to pan out. I think that Devin is in a much better place now, since I don't think that he can be scapegoated by a majority anymore. It may make life a bit more difficult for Johnny who is the worst human on this show (and that's a tough race to win). And, I can get behind that.

No, that was Johnny who said that that was his goal, not Andrew.  He made Jessica cry in week three, and then tried and failed to make Kimberly cry in week four.

You're right. But wasn't Andrew in on it too? I know Johnny was doing the majority of the taunting but wasn't he plotting it with Andrew?

Not that it really matters. I'm probably not remembering it correctly and I can hate Andrew even if he wasn't involved with that. And still hate Johnny more...

Andrew and Johnny double-teamed Jessica, for sure.  But Johnny went after Kimberly on his own.  He and Andrew both laughed about making the women cry, since they credited it as the reason Jessica was eliminated, but it was only Johnny who went at her with the "rat" and "Splinter" taunting
