The really bad part is my shoes are like, khaki colored wedges. LOL pretty sure they are going to end up in the trash since i'm not going to get the blood stain out of the back.  i was in the bathroom for 10 minutes trying to wash it out but nah.  don't think it's going to happen.  any tips? anyone else bleed out a pint of blood onto a pair of light colored cloth shoes? just me?

Don’t throw them out!!!  What is the fabric?  Carbona stain removers have different types of stain removal liquids and there is one for blood (I need to look) but you can get it out.  Let me know the fabric.

So the shoes i'm wearing today gave me the biggest blister on my heel this morning...didn't realize it was so bad till i went to put a band aid on and ladies, can you bleed out from the ankle. WE MAY FIND OUT TODAY.

you just have to laugh though.  while i'm washing out shoe (and like, sink is turning pink from the amount of blood in the fabric), i look down and there are footprints in blood around sink...i didn't realize i was STILL BLEEDING.  trying to clean up foot, floor, sink, walls, and realize other ankle has start of a blister. not as bad but starting.

CAN I GO HOME YET.

Hope no one looks in trash in bathroom and sees half a roll of paper towels in there covered in blood...

Honestly Lauren, this post made my day in the strangest way. You're always so positive, which I ADORE about you. I've got this picture of you kissing babies and helping old ladies across the street, and now that's been altered just a hair to you doing all those things while you continuously bleed from your ankle.

Not to make light of your debacle at all. That sounds painful and irritating to have a brand new pair of shoes do that and be rendered unwearable. Do me a favor and save that bloody shoe to throw at the next person who pisses you off.

...which may actually be constructive, since while haven't done the bleeding-onto-light-shoes, I am unfortunately accident-prone and have learned the hard way that Oxy Clean really does take out quite a few stains, blood included (I had the dubious distinction of being the only student in my entire art class who was made to wear gloves when handling X-Acto knives after accidentally cutting myself on them for the third day in a row).  If you can take some water and make a paste of it, and scrub it over the stain, that would help quite a bit, and you could then try putting the shoes in the washer in the gentle cycle.

Haha! Aww, well this made me smile :) I have always had a very active imagination so I have to admit that most of the weird (and prob boring) parts of my life turn into stories for my facebook page once i've had time to calm down LOL

I wish i'd (morbidly) taken a picture of my ankle with the shoe on and blood all the way up to my ankle...like, it looked like i had a red patch over the whole back of my foot! and i walked all over town like that!! did people driving past notice and think i was making a fashion statement? been bit by a shark? i can't imagine that no one noticed, but maybe they were actually focused on driving their cars safely which is more important.

I do plan on maybe saving the shoe...it's all dried now and looks ick.  Even my husband gasped when he saw it so maybe it is a good idea to keep it for future possibilities...

Carbona has small bottles individualized for certain kinds of stains.  There’s one for blood.  Carbona is supposed to the best cleaner on the market for stains.  I find them at my grocery store but I bet you can also find online.  After you treat your shoe with that, take the pair to a great shoe repair and ask if they can spiff up.  Other two options is to buy another pair or have them dyed.

YOU THINK I DIDN'T TRY THAT? NBC LOCKS THEIR SHIT DOWN LIKE IT'S FORT KNOX!

Ahem. Crisis averted though. I installed the NBC app on the Apple TV just to watch this damn video. Now I'm going down the rabbit hole...

So I had to go into work this morning because the new kid self diagnosed himself with strep and called out 45 minutes before he was supposed to show up to work. He then texted and said he was at the doctor and it turns out he's having "allergy complications." (Whatever that means. Reminds me of Natalie Woods and her upper respiratory "problem.") I told him he would kindly need to come into work and relieve me since today was supposed to be a personal day for me and allergies aren't a reason to miss work. I. Just. Can't.

No, but I did watch Rock Star Supernova, which was pretty much a contest to become lead singer for a new band Tommy Lee (among others) was forming.

I watched that too. What ever happened to the band? Maybe Tommy Lee will reform it now that Motley Crue is retired.

Remember the one on VH-1 Classic from 2006 called Super Group? It had Ted Nugent, Sebastian Bach, Scott Ian , Jason Bonham, and Evan Seinfeld.

Damnocracy was the band name (had to google it).

I have a fitbit used to have MFP but I switched back to sparkpeople. I can always use more fitbit friends and challenges

I would have some sympathy if he thought his throat was sore but was really closing up from anaphylaxis, but sniffly allergies? Nope.

@QuiteContraryMoni I don't have the app but I could get it for sure - just really need to get serious about it and would be awesome to do together!!  My biggest problem is the diet, and getting enough protein.  I loathe protein shakes.  Even tried experimenting with unflavored protein powder to add into food.  Absolutely disgusting ?

Does anyone have experience with ioffer?  They sell DVDs of hard to find TV shows- someone posted a link to season 2 of this show.  If anyone orders it, let me know if it's for real!  Thanks.

Brilliant site! :) I managed to get all 11 seasons, the 2005 special, the "Brides" special, some swimsuit specials and some Cowboys games off it! :) I also know a site where you can get the two movies! Thank God for iOffer and other little known sites LOL! :)

I freaking HATE protein shakes!! BLECH. Personally, I prefer "real" food instead of bars, shakes, etc. They just never fill me up. And they're expensive, and I do not tolerate soy. I'll do:

2 hard boiled eggs with fresh pepper and celery salt

1/2 cup cottage cheese (again with the celery salt & pepper)

1/2 c 92% lean ground turkey with a little bbq sauce

6 oz cooked chicken breast w/ 1/2 c brown basmati rice

Occasionally, I'll get the Sam's frozen meatballs. They're not healthy, but I love em. And they ARE protein ;-) They're 50 cals a meatball though.

Cold Quinoa salad (Cooked quinoa, olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, cherry tomatoes, diced cucumbers, avocado, green onions, salt & pepper & a little feta or parmesan)

Egg "muffins" (Egg beaters, turkey bacon, lowfat cheese, fat free half and half, whisk together and bake in muffin tins)

OH! And yogurt! LOTS of yogurt. The Dannon yogurt smoothie in the bottles are delicious.

These things can be easily prepped and stored for the week, so that's what I do! If you sign up for a my fitness pal account, I'll PM you my email address so you can "friend" me on there. I'm binge watching 'The Sopranos' and am OBSESSED with Carmella so here's my profile......

yay that sounds awesome!!!!  And I love those recipes - I need something more creative than random WF chicken breasts lol Not that they're not good....but it gets old eating them all the time, and then I get sick of them, and it's back to "well, I can always start over again" ?

my only real saving grace food-wise is that I really love green salads - my go-to is a bunch of watercress, half of one of those little tubs of kale micro greens, salt, lemon juice, olive oil, 1/2 tbsp pistachios, and 1/2 tbps crumbled garlic pita chips.  It's also good adding in some mint leaves, raj al hanout, and using lime instead of lemon for a Moroccan-style salad.  I'm working right now on getting a good stockpile of healthy food.  Epicurious is amazing, and has a great greens-based soup I love to make:

http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/barley-soup-with-greens-fennel-lemon-and-dill-357291

I go much lighter on the feta, and use chicken bone broth instead of vegetable broth for more protein and flavor (also I use a ton of crushed minced garlic).  It freezes well, and then you just need to heat and add feta ?

I think I'm the only person alive who doesn't like soup.

Soup as a meal is like my least favorite thing ever. I can tolerate it if it's pre-real food, but if someone gives me a bowl of soup and says, "Dinner," they're going to get the side eye from me. Every once in a while growing up my mom would make potato soup for dinner, and she knew that in order for me to eat it it would at least have to be accompanied by a sandwich or I was NOT HAVING IT.

@QuiteContraryMoni I just left a message for a woman named Debra. The "Debra" struck me halfway through the message and I started giggling while trying to finish what I was saying. It was really quite ridiculous.

ETA Oh my god and the next one was DEBBIE. This is ridiculous.

Sheer spice deliciousness, if you're into savory, slightly spicy flavors:

http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/ras-el-hanout-101070

It usually has a lot of cumin, pepper, and some allspice....just tastes super amazing with roasted meats especially.  I've put it in marinades with smoked paprika, mint leaves, lemon, olive oil, and about 6 or 7 large cloves of garlic.  I usually use boneless chicken thighs (skin still on).  Broil for 5 minutes, skin side down, then turn and broil skin side up for 5 more minutes.  I usually serve it with sour cream.  And now I'm hungry, and probably not doing my diet any favors lol

Not sure where to post this:

Anybody here go on imdb.com? I go there look up shows and occasionally MTT. I noticed they no longer have the message boards for each show (including MTT). I wonder if it got too nasty and they had to shut it down.

Yes, I used to post on the MTT board and some others! It's a real pity they closed them :(

I used to look at them pretty often. Never posted, but yeah, they put up a message saying they no longer felt the boards provided a positive experience so they closed them I think on Feb 21st.

Also, regarding boards for this show:

The best was the CMT board.  Then they shut it.

The Yahoo board was/is the weirdest site.  You couldn’t read anything on it.  I think it was started by a former DCC but who knows. I think I am still a member but they themselves should shut it down. It’s embarrassing.

DCC site used to be fantastic.  We all know what happened there. In this day and age, I am shocked that the site is so bad. Another embarrassment.

TWOP - a great board which then closed.

IMDB - I never really read anything on there of interest and since it was my real name on my account, I wasn’t going to get “real.” I don’t think it’s a big deal they shuttered it. Just my opinion.

Closed Facebook DCC page - no one on there posts.  It was started by a couple of posters after CMT board shut down.  I thought it would be fun and exclusive.  It isn’t.  Ha!

All the DCC run sites - more yawning here. I guess people take advantage way too much and want to get personal or criticize nastily. I would hope to believe there is a way around it but I don’t know how much effort the DCC really want to put into their online presence.

The IMDB boards got REALLY bad in many cases, depending on what the board was.  I remember HUGE nasty fights and people trolling to get their yucks.  I took a break for a while because I got tired of being told that I didn't know a good actress when I saw one and done in the nastiest words possible.  After I went back, then I word post occasionally, but never as regularly as I had once done.
