I'm mentally scrolling through my iPod.  Its shuffle setting has a penchant for playing these two back to back:

Adele, Someone Like You
Van Morrison, Someone Like You

I also have U2's One and Metallica's One.  And there's also One by Three Dog Night.

Van Morrison's Gloria and Laura Branagan's Gloria.

I think there have been several different songs titled Fire, but The Pointer Sisters and The Ohio Players are the versions I have.

Bruce Springsteen did a version of "Fire" (not to be confused with his song, "I'm On Fire"), the one that The Pointer Sisters did ["I'm drivin' in my car..."]. I think it's a pretty good version if you ever want to look it up!

Thought of another title, which seems popular enough!

Hold On - Yes

Hold On - Wilson Phillips

Hold On - Triumph

Hold On - Sarah McLachlan

Not Hold On, but another set I thought of, and both by Canadian bands.

Say Goodbye - Triumph

Say Goodbye - Theory Of A Dead Man

More with the "Goodbye" theme:

Goodbye - The Petenders

Goodbye - Night Ranger

Maybe this counts twice:

"Goodbye, Goodbye" - Oingo Boingo

And speaking of Oingo Boingo and titles that almost match:

"Nasty Habits" - Oingo Boingo

"Filthy Habits" - Frank Zappa

"Lullaby" - Tea Party

"Lullaby" - The Cure

And if I may add a third, we've also got "Lullaby" by Shawn Mullins.

When I saw this thread, the first thing I thought of was:
"Shout" - The Isley Brothers
"Shout" - Tears for Fears

But the more I thought about it, I remembered I have 4(!) different songs all named "Closer" on my ipod:
"Closer" - Kings of Leon
"Closer" - NIN
"Closer" - Tegan and Sara
"Closer" - Neyo

And in what is surely about to out me as having questionable taste in music, I also thought of:
"As If" - Blaque
"As If" - Sara Evans

"Locomotion" - OMD

"Locomotion" - John Coltrane

Add Little Eva to the "Locomotion" .... and IIRC, Grand Funk Railroad also did their version of it.

Can you name a song that has the exact same title, but is a completely different tune by a different artist? Name the song and the different artists.  No Googling...it's more fun that way. I'm sure there are quite a few, but to give everyone a chance to participate, I'll start with one:

Stairway to Heaven -- Led Zeppelin

Stairway to Heaven -- Neil Sedaka

also:

Stairway To Heaven - The OJays

On the way home, I was listening to Jim Ladd on Deep Tracks (I love Jim Ladd).  He played these:

I Want You - Bob Dylan

I Want You - The Beatles (okay, so there's (She's So Heavy) in the Beatles song, but it's close)
