Season 18 Live Feed Discussion: Their Lives are Almost as Boring as Ours!

Just for clarification, the second evictee in a DE doesn't get the HG goodbyes, right? (because the HGs would have to literally tape a goodbye for every other HG). Thats a shame, because if Paulie does go, he's going to miss all those warm and friendly farewells...

Note Corey's comments.   I hate him.

On the list of Paulie'isms, now he equates being a feminist with being a racist.

In the past few hours I've gotten the impression several of these HGs equate feminism with lesbianism, racism, socialism... I dunno.

Feminism...?

Which is why I do worry about Zak if Paulie gets evicted tonight. Part of me wants her to have at least a week to get her head together. Some time away from Paulie and some time with Day may be helpful, even a little bit. I think Zak's mental health is at risk when she's with Paulie, in all honesty. She seems like she understands how bad Paulie is for her and I do believe that she knows that he probably doesn't care as much for her as she does for him, but she's so blinded by her obsession with him that it blinds her completely from breaking it off and separating her feelings with the logic.

On the other hand, if someone on the other side wins and Paulie doesn't win veto, he has to go tonight. It is the best way to better all of their games, and although Corey/Nicole will replace the mean comments and the awfulness that Paulie will leave behind, I think the season will be less hated.

Z is in love with Paulie, the only way this will end is if she let's it play out.  She may tell herself that she is seeing him in game mode and outside the house it will work.   What better place to check that out?  I think it is good for her to see him in a different context. She may find out that he is an ass there, too!

You guys, I'm really anxious about tonight. We never, ever get to have nice things. We have been crushed so many times by these idiots. Please just this once can we have what we want. I promise we;ll take good care of it.

When I read that I hear Nicole's voice ("youuuuuuuuuu guuuyyyyeeesss"). I apologize for that.

Well that speech is terrible. I'm all for calling people out but her presentation is seriously lacking.

She mentioned last night she only has 30 seconds so I guess whe wants to cram as much in as possible before Julie cuts her off!

Friday episode on the 19th.  Damn, that must be another asshole returning, or Battle Back.

NO!

It's probably another Battle Back.   Grodner has all but stated if the RT isn't used there will be another buyback.  That makes me thinks someone has the RT that is very unlikely to go in the DE or next week.... maybe Paul?

I think I might cry if Paulie gets evicted and then comes right back into the house. If Paulie's out of the house, then I want Zak to win it. I want to see her actually play without Ken by her side. She'll probably be horrible, but it would be nice to see her thinking with her brain. Of course, that also requires for Nicole to be in jury as well.

The first person I thought about having RT that is in no danger of leaving is Corey. Everyone else's names have been thrown out to be evicted at some point, now even Paul's.

Corey is pretty safe for this DE since Nicole/Paulie are targets ahead of him, but he'll likely be a lot of people's backup target next week if Nicole/Paulie is evicted tonight, and backup targets go all the time.  But yeah, that's fairly unlikely and I agree he's one of the more likely people to survive the next couple of evictions.

Corey is not safe at ALL.

The only two people in the house I consider safe right now are Paul and Victor.

Paulie's, Nic, and Corey think they are with them, the other side KNOWS they are with that side.  They've played this well.

Paulie's been talking about putting up Bridgette/Natalie and if one of them comes off, he wants to put up Paul and send him out. Now, whether he'd do it or not is up in the air (and to be fair, I can't remember if this conversation was taking place with girls in the room). But I do think they are safer than most, especially when the blindside happens, as Vic/Paul cannot vote. Paulie has also discussed getting Victor out sooner because he's a big comp threat, but it looks like that's changed with everything that's happened.

I only say Corey is safe is because even though his name has been thrown out as going up on the block, it's partnered with Nicole's name and Nicole is discussed as the target, not Corey. People have even said they want to pull Corey off and put Paulie up next to Nicole.

Theoretically, nobody's really that safe. Paul, Victor, and Corey seem to be in the best positions as of right now, though. But I think Corey's in the best position out of them all. He'd only go home if he's up against someone like Natalie, and James convinces people to keep her over Corey. Or if Paulie leaves this week, and Nicole wins veto next week if her and Corey are up.

Paulie's plans are likely to change after the eviction though.  He expects Michelle to be gone but she will remain in the game, and he should realize James is against him.  Right now he only suspects Paul is against him, and Paul's vote being cancelled by James will probably help.

Nope, if they can't get Paulie?  They WILL take out Corey.

Very true. I just assume they know who has the RT, and they've known that this person is probably not getting evicted in time so they've had this plan set up for a few days now, before all of this was going on. Either way, I guess that Zak's going to be in jury! Her and Day may come back! And then whoever gets evicted second tonight and next week.

I don't know. I think plans are definitely changing and people are probably thinking about it now, but I do think Nicole was higher on the list of people to get out. I guess by now, it could be Corey, seeing his attitude toward the whole Paulie vs the World situation. I'd like for Corey to be a bigger target than Nicole, I really would.

No chance, they will take out Corey if they can't get Paulie.  Nicole is a weak, pointless player with no one.  Corey said disgusting things last night too.

Perhaps Meech could repay the favour by going to see Nicole while she sobs uncontrollably in bed. "I'm really sorry Nicole, I never meant to hurt you, it's just that Corey is a massive douchebag..."

Original plan was for Paul to start a hard sell to Paulie immediately after the 1st eviction vote on the possibility of Nicole flipping to the girls' side in a Girl Power Alliance play, to obscure James' vote to evict Z.  The past evening's fracas probably didn't help matters, but this might still have decent chances for success:

  1. Paulie has stated he is certain that despite last night/this morning, James is still too loyal - or cowed - to go against Paulie and the BroBunch.
  2. Before Krakatoa erupted, the plan for tonight was that James would nullify Paul's and Corey's votes; unless Paulie confronts James between now and the eviction vote about changing his null picks, James could still do this and maintain plausible deniability without raising too much suspicion ("but that was our plan, man!  Both Paul and Corey volunteered, and I hadn't heard you say anything different....").
  3. Paulie's suspicions of Paul are much heightened now - but not on account of the row with Natalie.  Paulie thinks Paul may be trying to rustle up some unrest between James / Corey / Victor / Paulie to set up a possible future coup, but Paulie is not associating Paul - or Victor, for that matter - in any way with the Natalie/Bridgette/Michelle side of the House.

So if Paul (or Victor might be a better pick now) were to whisper sweet somethings in Paulie's ear about Nicole, Paulie might still be receptive to the notion - especially if some seeds of doubt could be planted in the hours between now and airtime....

Yeah, I can't decide if I'd rather have Paulie straight evicted or if I want Paulie to win HoH, put up Nicole, and have Nicole be evicted.

As long as Paulie is evicted next week, I think I'm hoping for the later.  Paulie fancies himself a mastermind, and it will be so sweet to watch him all week if he realizes his showmance was evicted the week he won veto, and in his DE HoH he got out one of his few remaining true allies.  That would cement him as a terrible player.  Super unlikely though, and a lot would have to go right.

Early this morning Paulie changed and wanted Z out.  Now that might have been in a peek of anger but he said it.  If he changed his mind he has, himself created the situation "but I heard you say that."  There was enough chaos to claim misunderstanding with this, too.

Not the time to play games.  If they can get him on first DE, do it.  No pussyfooting or trying to get fancy.  He has to go when the situation presents itself.

On another topic: Victor.

Anybody else besides getting a strange vibe off Vic these days?

Victor's primary persona projected in the game has continually been that of the overloud larger-than-life douchebro - big on physical comps, Bro-ing it up to the extreeeme, condescending to everyone else not a Bro, etc.

During/since the blowup, however:

  • Victor seems to be smoothly handling Paulie so well, Paulie doesn't realize he's being handled.
  • In coordinating tactics and strategy with Paulie, Victor seems to be displaying a heretofore unseen level of calm and confidence.
  • This popped up on Joker's this afternoon:

Thu 1:54 PM BBT Victor looks and smiles at the cameras "This is the calm before the storm."

Taking this into account along with Vic's performance on certain comps (specifically, the BBRK where he out-mathed Tiffany the math teacher), I'm starting to wonder if Victor is actually intelligent enough not only to have successfully played the whole House for the entirety of the Game to date, he's been playing us as well.  :)

Nashville, I don't think so.  Victor is doing his job in keeping Paulie in the dark.  He is solidly in with the new alliance.  Calm before the storm was referring what is going to happen tonight.

He is very happy to be in this new position where is he on the top with Paul.  When the facts were laid out to him he could not leap fast enough.  James is the only iffy one.

Even after she laughed at Paulie screaming at Nat?  Ratted out the Fatal Five?  Ratted her way around the house.  Endlessly targets woman?
