I am excited for Paige and Mark, I think Hip Hip Chin Chin is a definitive Samba, and I am glad they are doing Argentine Tango. This will be a good night for them, even if they don't have the fan base to move ahead.

I really wish Peta and Nyle were dancing with Edyta or Karina instead. I can't warm up to Jenna at all. I'm dangerously close to sounding like a hater, but she's a little too muggy when it comes to the camera. 

I'm actually surprised that Mark would get that song again for another Samba. Speaking of redundant, Val is doing another Paso Doble trio with Artem and Lindsay and Witney are, too. Sometimes I wish they'd shake things up. At least we'll get to see Artem's chest and that's never a bad thing.

The trio dance is another one I wish they would get rid of. I really wish they would go back to the days of two people dancing. That is what viewers seemed to like anyway.

I don't think you are a hater. I think she dances just fine. She's stronger in the contemporary dances IMO. She's good in Latin & Ballroom as well...I just think there are other female pros that are stronger. 

Some of her super fans are very sensitive and if you offer any critique of Jenna you are deemed a hater. But she legit does some weird stuff with her face. The most recent example of this was during the pro opening number for week 8. I guess she was trying to be sexy but it veered off into comical porno face. It is actually distracting from her dancing.  Back in the day Mark had a similar issue with pulling some crazy over the top faces. He toned it down...I wish she would do the same.

Not going to lie. I am worried for my favorites Paige and Mark this week, simply because other teams seem to get all the attention.  I really hope that good dancing is at the top of everyone's mind, not necessarily scores.

Agree with you. It seems like TPTB have engineered a finale with Antonio and Ginger and, of course, Nyle.  I just hope the voters were able to power through for Paige & Wanya.

My gut is telling me Nyle for sure, and  Antonio as  two of the finalists.   I think Antonio helped himself last week, and Wanye unfortunately didn't. Antonio is the weakest dancer, but he had some very good moments. And he can power lift, something they want for finales. For sure the show is not going to send two black contestants home together  again like they sent Kim and Von. 

The two women is a question mark. I am hoping people saw through the manipulation and get Paige that finale spot. Mark will definitely have the more entertaining choreography for the Freestyle, and he has a contestant that has no fear and can attack it.

The DWTS Instagram account is promising some sort of emotional surprise from Peta and Nyle. Kym Johnson also commented that Nyle is doing something that will blow our minds. Here's hoping that they think just two people dancing without a giant production , an emotionally manipulative gimmick and 23 backup dancers is now considered "mind blowing" for this show.

but according to a picture on their facebook account it looks like he is dancing at least part of the dance blindfolded...

Have they had anyone dance blindfolded?

I definitely like this idea. It's a great because it taking away one more of Nyle's senses. It leaves him having to rely on Peta and his memorization of the dance. If they can pull it off, it can definitely be a showstopper.

I actually like the trio dances. I think it's been one of their better ideas. In general, I wish they wouldn't allow them to use the troupe during their regular dances. It makes the freestyle seem not as special. I am excited for these dances tonight. I can't even guess as to who could be leaving. It's quite an even playing field.

I don't it's a gimmick. Heightened awareness of what is around Nyle has been his life since he was a baby.

I think having him need to rely on anyone is a joke. Isn't his whole thing that just because he's deaf doesn't mean he's any different than anyone else? He doesn't need to rely on anyone else to help him. Ridiculous. It kind of seems like the whole show is making him into inspiration porn which, as far as I can tell, goes against what he is trying to accomplish.  He's a great dancer, just let him dance.  There are definitely plenty of people in the world who do need to be shown that someone who is deaf can do whatever they want so yes his visibility on the show is fantastic! And not just for ignorant hearing people but for deaf people as well, like my boyfriend. We have been taking ballroom dancing lessons together and I think he loves seeing someone he can relate to on TV! Representation matters. 

It doesn't surprise me in the least that the show would stoop to the level of gimmicks, but they are really doing a disservice by doing that.

I agree. But the audience is going to be all sappy about this and lap it up. Carrie Ann is going to blubber all over the place.  It's too bad he's being turned into a dancing bear instead of a dancer.

It's sort of like how Amy Purdy and Noah were used by the show with all the Carrie Anne blubbering and the patronizing comments from the judges. Amy certainly danced well enough to win by herself with enough votes. Noah really shouldn't have been on the show because he couldn't do the dances, but that's another story. Nyle can certainly do the dances and win without Carrie Anne crying. They should just let it be.

So according to George Pennacchio from ABC the TRIO dances are First.  And the dance order is Paige & Mark, Antonio & Sharna, Wanya & Lindsay, Nyle & Peta, Ginger & Val

I think rely is a strong word. I think their dance will rely on their connection and partnership. There has to be a certain level of trust, which I can respect.

I also don't hold Nyle, Amy or Noah responsible for Carrie Ann's behavior. She's a very emotional person even when it's not the intended response.

Well for me, not only has this gimmick been done last season, the season with Erin Andrews and way back when Apolo and Julianne did their freestyle, the judges are going to be fawning all over it like it's never been done before and Nyle is the second coming of Christ.  Moreover, I read about the profoundly deaf from birth, they have a better sense of peripheral vision than a hearing person.  So if you side eye blindfolded, Nyle is probably better at it than most of us.  And yet it's going to come off as some sort of amazing feat, when it's a gimmick designed to distract from his shortcomings as a dancer.

So I just watched Paige's Samba, and it was really really good!  Loved the botofogo section, she even boldly did bachacatas for the camera.  Wow.  A Trio Samba roll... fun.  Nice a 30!  Deserved.

I've always liked Hip Hip Chin Chin so it works for me.  

If Alan really wants to be a pro, he needs to prepare himself for the "ARE YOU DATING?!" questions asap.  Because he clearly wasn't.  (That said...they are pretty cute together.)

I'm now even more worried that Paige is halfway to a parting gift "60" on her way out.

Although, you could alternatively read it as her having to go first (and maybe middle-ish if she's toward the beginning of the traditional round)...maybe it could mean that it's a final attempt by the show to suppress her votes in the finale. Probably wishful thinking on my part though...

Really good bounce back Paso by Wanya. That was visually striking.

I didn't love that Paso. I thought  the choreography was a little safe. I didn't see much in the way of chaissez capes or spanish line, but he certainly was dedicated.  I knew he was going to get a 30 and I hope he felt great doing it because he looked great.

Are you kidding me! Antonio is not the weakest dancer by any stretch of the imagination. SMH. The weakest dancer is Ginger Zee imo.

How can I say this? Ginger is a good boring dancer. Like she can dance but she's boring like her dances just arent memorable to me. If that makes any sense...

Yeah, still think Antonio is the weakest dancer, but Ginger was a bit off tonight.

It makes sense to me. I feel the same about Paige. I can tell she's good, but I usually forget most of her dances right after I've seen them.

Yeah sadly I do think we lose Wanya and Paige tonight. I just dont think they have the fan bases to save them from a DE
