Air head Sara Hanies will be there for the Mother's Day show. Why am I not surprised?

Have they ever had a Mother's Day show before?

I hope this isn't the start of her being back permanently or I may need to leave permanently.

Me too BAH

I have to say that this show is so much better when Whoopi and her bullying and pontificating are gone. Even without guests, Joy is so engaged, enthusiastic, and self-deprecating. Fridays just serve to make the rest of the week look even worse.

I do have to say that I was surprised that Joy mentioned Maureen Reagan was one of Ronnie's kids outraged about the movie focusing on his Alzheimer's. Maureen died years ago. I don't expect Joy to know everything, but I'm always surprised when I know something she doesn't, because she's way more into current affairs than I am.

Even as a childless person, I thought the idea of "me-ternity leave"/equal time off for non-parents was absurd. I just got back from taking care of my elderly mom for six weeks. Let me tell you, anything I've gone through at work pales in comparison to the total exhaustion of taking care of someone who was dependent on me for everything. It was as tired as I've ever been, and I know that taking care of an adult is far less taxing than a newborn. I can't imagine ...

I'm a Christian, and CCB's "I'm A Christian Good Girl"(TM) act is annoying the crap out of me. She really has no range of topics: It's Christianity, her family, and Fuller House. That's it. Three-Note Joanie. I can honestly say I would wear a burqa before I'd wear a jingoistic Christian-centric t-shirt on TV. Not that I'm embarrassed about my beliefs, or loathe to talk about them, but because it's just so self-aggrandizing on her behalf. "Look at me, I'm a Christian, want to be saved? Talk to me about heaven and I'll educate you! Conservative politics on the side, too!" That's the subtext I get from her, and I say that as someone who's the same religion. I'm so done with her and Raven....

Who was it that said that Target said that you can use whatever bathroom you want?  That was a lie.  Target said that you can use the bathroom that matches your gender identity.  Not the same thing at all.

And what was up with that "Jesus Saves Bro" sweatshirt?

If there are facts to be stated, you can be sure CBB will muddle them, unless, of course, it's about Jesus.

That sweatshirt was absolutely inappropriate.  It goes to show where her head's at!!!

Wait .... doesn't Target saying customers can use the bathroom based on their gender identity mean that transgender people can use the bathroom of the gender they identify as being? So a person can essentially use whatever bathroom s/he wants? That's how I took it. Although I don't doubt they somehow managed to screw it up on the show. I popped outside to get the trash can during that segment, so I missed it.

I did, unfortunately, get back in time to hear Candice explain that it's not that anyone is "ascared" of trans people ... these bathroom laws are being enacted because if this use-any-bathroom-you-want policy isn't nipped in the bud, the rapers will start dressing up like females in order to get access to the women and children in the ladies room. Yes, Candice ... because a raper wouldn't DREAM of going in the ladies room to attack someone if their presence in there was unlawful. They won't sexually assault someone unless they can do it in a place they are legally entitled to be in! They don't want to, you know .... break any laws or anything.

I swear I can feel my brain cells dying by the hundreds of thousands when I watch this show sometimes.

Using the bathroom for the gender you identify with is not the same thing as saying using whatever bathroom you want.  The second way would mean that cisgender men could just walk into the women's room because they want to, and that's not at all what Target said.

Agree that CCB's sweatshirt was totally inappropriate, much like Bitsy's  T- shirt several years ago, "Great AmeriCain Hero." Hosts of a talk show on a national network should not be proselytizing.  Save that stuff for FOX or CBN.

Sunni truly elevates the panel when she's on. I think it's the intelligence... it makes such a difference.

Raven is just so inarticulate and combine that with her whacky theories and high opinion of herself it's not a good look.

Candace was talking such bullshit on the transgender bathroom topic. Joy and Sunny countered that nonsense pretty easily, thankfully. I'm still waiting for someone to ask about little boys being in danger or the existence of predators who are born female. I mean, at least Candace didn't come across hateful, just dumb as usual.

Raven is such a cypher on this show, but she has such a nasty attitude when she's looking at people and speaking, jeez.

Someone said earlier this week that Paula was that stick-in-the-mud that annoyed everyone in high school, and I can totally see it now. That smirk she had after they showed a video of a woman escorted from a bathroom (because she apparently didn't look enough like a woman? WTF) pissed me off, and her comments during the topic about comics sounded like such sour grapes, especially since she was looking right at Joy while she said it. She uses politics and religion as an excuse to be an asshole to other people, so what's the difference? At least when comics tell off-color jokes, it isn't attempting to harm actual people like Paula spreading misinformation and promoting regressive, discriminatory ideas daily does. Personally, I think it depends on the comic in question and the delivery of the joke. Something very cruel and disgusting can be hilarious in the right hands, but offensive coming from someone less capable. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we didn't get the team-pile we used to get on this subject when Sherri, Joy, and Whoopi were on the show at the same time. But I didn't like this team-pile in the reverse either. I imagine if Whoopi had been there, she would've went completely berserk.

That's right, Candace.  Let's make sure all those rapists and pedophiles hanging out at Target get sent to the men's room where they belong... with our sons.

I thought Becky with the good hair was just a line making fun of Jay Z's paramour like she's so unimportant Beyonce can't even remember her name.  I didn't think it referencing anything else just random.

I wish I had the time to worry about restrooms.

WOW! I am not a christian, and I am a gay liberal but I had little to no problem with Candace's shirt lol. Just like I would not have a problem with Raven wearing an LGBT pride shirt. But I guess she knew it was open to criticism by wearing that.

But anyways, if they can't get Meredith (which I know they probably can't) then Joy needs to that moderator chair ASAP

Joy or Raven need to point out -  not only have there been ZERO attacks in restrooms by transgender people, or men posing as transgender in order to have access to girls,  BUT -  transgender women are more often VICTIMS of attacks - beatings, rapes, even murders, by men who for some reason feel threatened by their existence.   And this is especially true for transgender women of color.
these new laws are changing a situation where there is no threat (transgender woman in a ladies room)  and trying to force a situation where there IS a threat (transgender woman in a men's room).

The travesty is that lawmakers are spending so much time and energy solving a problem that isn't even a problem.

No kidding.  As John Oliver said last Sunday [paraphrasing here] "We have American families with poison water in their homes, and THIS? is what local governments are talking about?"

So when the little birds in the forest were dressing Princess Born Again Barbie this morning, they really screwed up.  I thought that sweatshirt was completely        inappropriate to wear to any job (outside of a church), much less a talk show.   I'm tired of her one note talking point and now it's on her wardrobe as well?  Please.

LOL of course this show got [Daytime] Emmy noms for hair and makeup!  That's all the prep these ridiculous women ever do for this show; sit in the makeup room.  I wonder which co-hosts were nominated for best talk show hosts exactly?  The official ones in the opening credits or the ones that are there all the time.   Remember Candace didn't show up until something like the end of November.  Of course if they can give Bitsy an Emmy than I guess it's no surprise Barbie can get one too.

I agree with @geekburger, Sunny's intelligence really adds to the table as well as her patience for nonsense and diplomacy.

As mentioned, it sounded like CCB wants the pervs and rapists to stay in the male restroom.  ANd that being transgender makes one a perv and rapist  She is close to Bits' level of annoying for me. She just wants to UNDERSTAND!

I'm frankly surprised no one remarked on Raven's uberly moronic and ignorant statement about how she didn't 'care' what Drumf said--you know, like content or plans/policies, but only what he sounded like. And he sounded presidential, so ergo, he would be a good president, because he sounded like what a President should.

I'm so sick and tired of all the bigots crying like Chicken Little about transgender people. Like, if those stupid States hadn't brought up the whole bathroom issue, would these idiots even be clutching their pearls? Like any of them go to use public restroons where the public can be found.  If people like Candace hate political correctness, than, lady, just come out and say that you're a bigot and a sexist! Instead of acting like you're not and cloaking it in "I just want to UNDERSTAAAAAAND' bullshit.

My favorite part of that stupid conversation was the the look on Paula's and Joy's faces- it was like, "oh there she goes again saying dumbshit stuff; we better not acknowledge it or we'll get dragged down in the ignornance and it would take 12 years to educate this girl."  Or at least that's what it looked like to me.  Actually, I wanted someone to say, "How about his hair?  Is that presidential hair?"  Because that's a conversation Raven would take seriously.   Heh.

CCB isn't that bad, she's sweet in a harmless sort of way.  Raven, on the other hand, concerns me more.

Do you watch the show regularly? Bc there are some CCB things.... that are... well... bad. (imo) I agree about raven though. I do have concerns.

CCB scares me a bit more .

I think CCB is worse because she hides her bigotry behind the "sweet" facade and her whining how she just wants to "Understaaaaaand!" what the homosexuals, transgender "want."

And I'm pretty sure Lucifer knows who Jesus is, Candace, so shut up.
