I guess I am in the minority, but, I am not looking forward to Kristen. Ron has a tendency to overdoing camp.

ED has a tendency to eat the show that I don't care for.

Not really enjoying how the big picture is shaping up with RC -- Will, Sami, Kristen, EJ?.  Been there, FFWD'd that...

I wish the show would have Will's disappearance be connected with the time that Marlena was missing and presumed dead.  Perhaps, a villain at the time played a role in Marlena being kept from her family and has decided to use Will in his vendetta against Marlena.   It will be boring if a Dimera is once again responsible for a missing Brady.  Marlena, Hope, Steve were all retconed to have been taken by Stefano; when the story that aired at the time of their deaths said otherwise.  Be creative Ron, he has a tendency of recreating past storylines with current characters.

You are being too kind.  Given the chance, he'll drown us in it.  He's great at show history and using vets, but a little camp and even less Kristen goes a loooooong way.

Eileen Davidson is a fine actress, but I never cared for any of her Days characters or storylines.  Count me in with the minority.

We need new villains that will wreak havoc on the legacy children and move their stories forward.  I am really tired of the Dimeras.

A Theresa Returns storyline? Please?

Let's not forget she was starting to mentor Claire and also had a real attraction going with Justin. I'd like to see both of those storylines continue.

I would only want Theresa back on the show if Jen Lilley were to play her again.  I became invested in the character because JL brought such life to her--even when she was being hateful and self-destructive, JL still gave Theresa a warmth and humanity--despite everything, you still cheered for her to get her life together.

Re:  Eileen Davidson coming back, her characters on Days are just too damn campy, especially the over the top Susan--the weird quavering voice is just grating.

I think I'm going to be in the minority on a Theresa return, too.  Again, a fine actress, but didn't care for the character.  She just didn't seem to fit in anywhere, and I didn't like her with Brady.  Her complete character redemption was just too... forced.  Not sure the word I'm looking for.  Contrived?  Whatever it was, I never liked her.

The only way I'd want Theresa back would be if I could have a morally gray theresa and then hook her up with a conflicted Chad. He should always float the line of good/bad Dimera, IMO. Billy has range. He can pull that off in a way Casey never could.

Eileen Davidson is over the top in everything she does.  I'm not an Ashley Abbott fan, either.

Jen Lilley made me love her but I do agree her transition was a bit bumpy. I'm glad it happened though because without it the character would have been disposed of as quickly as Jade will soon be. The show has a very bad habit of taking characters with potential and then deciding they have no long-term viability anymore and have them do increasingly awful things. They kind of did that with Kristen now that I think back on it...

Theresa should have probably been finished once it was revealed she knocked out John with that fireplace poker and I still think the show needs to do some work if and when they bring her back to redeem her from that. I think her stepping aside to ensure Brady and Tate's safety was the best they could come up with even though that story is still waiting to be written.

I wonder if mentioning that Dario is wanted by Mateo is a subtle way for the producers to let us know they haven't forgotten about that Theresa subplot...

Anyhow, I am over-the-moon excited for Eileen's return, especially if it is rather short, because it could be a great way to set up Kristen's eventual return later on or it could just be a lot of fun with Susan or Sister Mary Moira. Now that I've actually seen the episodes that featured Penelope Kent, I'm a bit bummed that she can't return. Don't get me wrong - I'm getting sick of characters coming back from the dead but I have to say Eileen really created an interesting character with Penelope, the glamorous former d-list actress with a penchant for grandiose gestures.

I am down for any of the above. I honestly can't wait for the next few months worth of episodes to be done with. Bring on Eileen!

And who cares if she eats the show? There isn't exactly much of a show left.

Who is Gil?

Have we figured out whose wedding it is? Lucas/Adrienne? Paul/Sonny? Marlena/John?

And how does Will figure into those scenes b/c Chandler will presumably be airing then. So...it's probably not Paul/Sonny. I can't imagine they'd marry if one or both of them knew Will was alive. If in fact it's Will that Chandler is playing. Hell, maybe he's back but not all of Salem knows it for awhile?

Brady/Nicole?  Rafe/Hope?  The list could go on and on.  Quite frankly, I think Paul/Sonny is the least probable.  The writers just don't seem to like them, plus I agree that they wouldn't get married if Will is back.  But, is Will back?  Maybe he's just a ghost who visits Sonny and gives him his blessing... who knows, actually.

I'm so scared that is is what they're doing ... I will be 100% done then.  I don't think Cav will do that, though...or I hope not. Depends on how long Chandler is there, etc... I'm still not sure anyone has said. If he's a ghost just to give his blessing (would NEVER HAPPEN) then...eff the show.

It could be the return of Jason Quartermaine all over again where the audience knows it Will but nobody else does, not even Will?

So Jeff Ballard posted on Instagram yesterday... if you go by his hinty hashtags, I think Chandler is there for 13 or 26 weeks (only filming on his breaks from UCLA) and it's a brainwashing plot.

Eh....why brainwash Will? He's a writer, not an assassin. Are we in for RoboWill?

What does his profession have to do with that? It's not like he's going to have wanted to be brainwashed. It's probably some stupid ploy to get back at Sami/the Bradys or whatever. Stupid as it may or may not be, at least he's alive. this way they can "fix" him and he can do what he's meant to do: (be alive) walk off into the sunset propping up PaulSon (gross)_...but that leaves room for Chandler or a recast to come back after a reasonable time period.

Don't get me wrong. I will HATE this with a passion b/c I just want Will back and happy for like 5 minutes without him being used or hurt. But we won't get that.

I hope it mirrors Hope's return, in that he does not remember being Will. I hope it is not something stupid like Princess Gina or Robojohn.  I think when John came in the 80's as an amnesiac was compelling and Marlena feeling connected to him and then her finding out those pictures with John as Roman was so wonderful.

Maybe all the rest of the cast has been brainwashed, not Will - and one of two things happens.  (1) He didn't die, because they were all brainwashed, and he just returns from being somewhere and wonders what the heck is going on.  Or, (2) Will is a collective figment of the entire town's imagination, because they've all been brainwashed and are having the same hallucinations.

1. No comment

2. Definitely no for me b/c that would mean he's still dead.

I want Will alive..so he can do whatever. When Chandler leaves in 13 weeks or so they can write him off long term/short term temp to give enough time for a proper recast (one that isn't so sudden and jarring like last time) or to have Chandler back occasionally as school and life permits.

Wishful thinking for a Will fan.

Well, #1 means he's alive.

I was joking.  My two ideas are too absurd, even for this show.

The parents of the babies who play Holly said that Nicole's last taping date was also the babies' last taping date, so I guess Nicole is going to leave with Holly.

But I wonder what breaks up her and Brady?  Eric Martsolf is still taping.

I think 13 weeks is the standard contract that all soap actors are given at the moment.  Unless there is some radical change I assume that the intention is to keep Chandler around for a while.  His contract along with everyone else's will just keep getting automatically renewed.

Jason47 is reporting that Gabrielle Haugh (Jade) will be leaving sometime this summer.

About time, I'd say.  Maybe it'll coincide with whenever she and Tripp are found out, if that's what happens around that time.

Contracts differ from actor to actor. They sign year long or 2 year long or 4 year long contracts (pick any of the above or more) but the CYCLE is 13 weeks and they can be let go at the end of any and every cycle.

I'm not privy to what Chandler's deal is but from what Jeff Ballard hinted, Chandler is only there for the summer taping b/c of school. Who knows. I want him forever as you well know but... I'll take what I can get for now.

Jason47 posted a pic of Marci's December script that had Ciara in it so they did indeed recast her.

This is just idiotic that today is JULY 6 and they are filming Christmas scripts!!!!!  Freaking CHRISTMAS?????  This idiotic schedule makes it impossible for the show to gauge fan reactions to storyline and adjust accordingly, which is why we are stuck with crap that we hate the majority of the time.  I DO NOT GET why TIIC cannot understand this is the reason ratings and fans are dropping like flies.  Ugh.
