She trimmed her hair so it's all one length.  It does look like she's at least making an effort to wear a clean top and do her hair.

Her hair looks soooo much better at this length.   Much more flattering.  Now if she would just do something about that neon platinum color.

Yeah that's not what I want to look at first thing in the morning. Is it really that hard to find professional looking clothing for a women in her 50s with millions of $?

I think Mika & Joe are making an effort to respond to Washington Post criticique about the show's format, Mika's funeral dress code & Joe's disappearance.

I would like to see Mika & Joe appear in a Visit Florida commercial.

What a mess this morning.

Joe's on his soapbox ranting and raving with some kind of a campaign speech.

Lindsey Graham proves he's no longer living in reality,

And the whole VA governor/LT governor story is depressing.

Mika & Joe are in Washington. Mika is wearing her black top. Joe i ranting that Trump is doomed & just had the worst midterm results in 240 years.

Joe wrote an important article in the Washington Post.

Joe is mad at Lindsay Graham  for agreeing with Trump.

If Trump declares a national emergency, he will be sued and it will be unconstitutional. Kamala could use the rule to ban guns.

Joe said people ask him why he is not a Conservative. Joe said his 1994 political platform is still Conservative.

Joe is against GOP toadies.

Joe said everyone agreed with him in 1994. Joe is out of control today.

He is like a caged animal released from his studio bunker.

Joe wrote 3 books !. Mika said Joe made her read his books.

Joe said Trump is a Democrat & gave money to Nancy Pelosi.

Mika is beaming at Joe.

Joe said Trump is a Democrat & gave money to Nancy Pelosi.

Mika is beaming at Joe.

What a difference this morning.  No, really.  A round table with BOTH hosts there; people can talk (when Joe isn't talking- which is almost all the time) and look at one another while they talk.  It is a much better show when the hosts are on set... more cohesive, more give and take.  Well, except for Joe who mostly takes and doesn't give.  But the discussion was interesting; even Bob Woodward was kind of interesting; his drone didn't bother me as much as usual.  Mika is back to the drab color but her hair and makeup look nice.  This was around 7:15-7:30.

I went to get a cup of tea and came back to a different table of guests; there were two people who have recently written columns.  The guy was trying to make a very good point (maybe about income inequality?) but could not complete a thought because Meeka kept interrupting him and inserting herself into his conversation (that may be the same thing as interrupting).  It was rude and jarring; but she probably thought it made her look smart and relevant.  It didn't.

Then came the 8:00 rerun.  Now I see why someone mentioned Susan Page's hair.  I wore my hair like that in the 60's; but I had a little bow on the side.  Tres chic.  Meeka just mentioned Joe's column in The Post.  See?  One doesn't need to get up at 6:00 to catch the show; sleep in and tune in at 8:00.  Why can't the other hosts do this?  The host of a one hour show can come in for the first half hour and then rerun it.  Winning.

Even after all this time, the 8 am rerun never fails to annoy me.   Part of the reason is because at 7:56, Mika announces what's coming upand says, "stay tuned," in a way that would mean "right after this commercial break" on any other show.   She *never* says, "we'll get to all that in 35 minutes," so if like me you're mind is elsewhere while watching and you're eye's not on the clock, you absent-mindedly expect the announced topics, only to be served up the same shit you watched from  6-6:30 am because oh that's right these jokers LEAVE for half an hour every day in the middle of the show.

That was me.   To quote the B-52's, "What's that on your head?  It's a wig!"

It has to be.   I can't imagine it's real.

Mika said she warned Democrats about the problems with zero tolerance on #Metoo allegations. They were tough on Frankel and forced him to resign.

Now Fairfax the Lt Gov is facing sexual assault allegations from 2004. Mika wants due process for men facing allegations. Joe said Mika was skewered for defending Kavanaugh right to due process. They are over reaching on Me Too.

Willie said Democrats believe women , so allegations are as good as a conviction.

What if Fairfax is innocent?

Eugene said Virginia does not know how to impeach Governors.

Joe said that Northan should not have attempted to Moonwalk at the press conference. He called him mulch.

Today was just too insufferable to take.

Mika had her smug face dialed up to 11, Joe ranting about God knows what, Joe & Kasie telling Democrats that they want to be more moderate, when majority want MFA, higher tax on wealthy, etc.

Michael Steele "doesn't want people telling him how much money he can make".  Mike no one is doing that. Make all you want. But you're gonna pay your fair share in taxes.

All this Howard Schultz bashing and every one at that table (with the exception of Mika because numbers confuse her) is behind him 100%.  We pretend to care about you normals, but it's better if you let us decide what you get.

I think that the panel realizes that they would be affected on a personal basis  by higher taxes on high income earners, so it's important for them to criticize Democrats advocating higher taxes.

It would have be a good time for Joe to go on a rant against high taxes in Connecticut forcing him & Mika  to flee to tax free Florida. :)

So during the opening Joe chortled 'We're actually on set today...not for the State of the Union but (haha) to see how this whole thing in Virginia will go down'  The camera cuts to Willie's reaction and I just about fell out of the bed laughing. He did not look amused. In fact he looked more than a bit pissed off that Joe was trying to joke about he and Mika being live on set. His face read like 'Are you seriously joking about this to my (*&% face?'  And you know how normally when someone realizes the camera is on them they'll try to soften and smile? Not Willie. Either he wasn't feeling well or he wasn't feeling Joe.

There is still a large part of the population that haven't been impacted by the backward slide of the middle class and those people are usually sitting on camera (all of them).  Secretly they think folks aren't "trying hard enough".   None of them could ever understand what is happening right now as they are still living in their glory day bubbles.

I'm glad he thinks this is so amusing.  What an entitled, conceited piece of doo doo he is.  If I was an on-air anchor and heard this, I would be fuming.  I would also plot revenge; but that is just me.  I would love to know what the other MSNBC personnel think about this whole situation.  Please, someone at the network leak something.

I think Ali Velshi has two different daily shows; Stephanie Ruhle, too.  And Katy Tur...she subs a lot.  How do they feel about The Twins?

To hear Joe tell it, he was in charge of every single committee.  Back. When. He. Was. In. Congress.  How long ago was that?  He brokered deals and compromises with...I cannot remember who he mentioned this morning - Elijah Cummings?  He was the peacemaker, the voice of reason.  All I can remember about those days was Newt Gingrich and the hatefulness of Joe's party back-in-the-day.  Wasn't Joe in office then?

He was in Congress for 6 years 1995-2001.  Here's his record.

The fact that Joe brought up them being on set makes me think someone said something to them.  He's trying to joke about it like "no one minds that Mika and I do whatever the fuck we want while these losers actually have to work for their salary".

True. I noticed that the show doesn't even bother to do town halls anymore in places like Detroit or Chicago to discuss socio economic issues. Those episodes were very interesting to watch.

It's much easier to spend 2 hours complaining from Sunny Florida about Trump's tweets & the decline of the GOP .

I suspect the only reason someone may have spoken up is because a journalist finally took notice.   I think it shows that all the twitter complaints and emails to MSNBC ultimately mean nothing.   The public only counts when complaints rise to the level of organized boycotts, otherwise we're brushed aside.

Mika & Joe are on et in the cozy Washingon studio. They are color co ordinated. Joe mocked the Nixonian references of the speech. Joe did not like the speech. He said Trump has been giving the same speech 3 years in a row. Joe admitted his 3 books had him writing the same thing . He was proud that he was still a consistent conservative.

Ignatius liked the speech. He used the room effectively. Willie said the guests were amazing with very moving stories.

Joe is worried about extreme socialist candidates being elected because people are so mad at Trump.

You're not the only one!  ----  And at the MJ table, when the camera panned out, all I saw was a group of (mostly; I think Perez is Dominican) white men in black suits.  Even Meek-a was in black, just blending in.  Bad visual, considering the conversation about the diversity of the Dems in Congress.

Joe does not like the focus on illegal immigration. Illegal border crossings are much lower now.

Mika did not Trump's platform based on lies about illegal immigration. Mika said the sweet stories about WW2 was ok.

Tyler said the speech was short on substance.

Tuned in before 7:00; expected the "A" Team.  I figured there would be a group of pundits sitting around the table..like yesterday.  Granted, I didn't see the first 45 minutes.  But people have mentioned David Ignatius; I think he probably slithers.  CNN had on Maggie Haberman and then they showed the late night comedians joking about the speech.  It was a light, funny, sarcastic few minutes.

What did I get when I first watched?  Claire McGaskill stroking Meeka's ego and Meeka preening in return; Joe said something like she "Mika" is in charge.  Sweet Jesus, is this what we get in response to a State of the Union speech?  George Will?  Mitch will be a hero?  As bad as this show is a good bit of the time, I really thought today's would bring some insightful, sarcastic (in a good way), informative moments.  I was expecting maybe John Heileman and a couple of others who I cannot remember right now.  I fear we are stuck with Claire M for years...and I know this is an unpopular opinion.  That's ok...it is what makes us such an interesting group.

I expected the panel to make a unanimous, full-throated call for the Democrats to appease Trump by giving him Wall money.   That's basically what Chris Cuomo was peddling last night after the SOTU, claiming it was the only way to "end this chapter and move on" without risking political damage (the so-called "Democratic overreach" these pundits love to invoke so much),  I figured if Cuomo had gone there, then MJ would too but with greater ostentation.  I fully expected smarmy Noah Rothman, five-and-dime philosopher Mike Barnicle, the effervescent Peggy Noonan (kidding about the effervescence), maybe even Rand Paul.

The Lt Gov of Virginia is in trouble because his accuser hired the same legal team that Christine Blasey Ford used against Kavanaugh. He allegedly sexual assaulted her during the DNC Convention in 2004.

Mika said that the Democrats were united in supporting Christine Blasey Ford against Kavanaugh but are being a lot more cautious about believing Fairfax's accuser.

Joe mocked Kamala Harris & Gillibrand for not supporting Fairfax's accuser. He said it was a double standard.

Scarborough jumped right into the "Lindsay Graham has lost his mind" discussion, hammering him for remaining silent while Trump bashed John McCain's book yesterday.  "I don't understand what he's doing," Claire said.

From a simplistic, purely objective and non-political standpoint, isn't it obvious what Graham is doing?  A high school poli-sci student could figure it out: he's trying to position himself as heir apparent to Trump's 35% base.   Lindsay Graham,  who has run for President before, is probably planning to run again and he's trying to lock in that big percentage of votes now.

Joe, who for two years supported a candidate who undermined Democracy while supporting autocracy, thinjs democratic socialists, who have no power, are a threat to the country. Joe is bragging to Perez that he & Mika correctly called the 2016 election. They knew that Trump could win. Joe said his warnings were ignored.

Joe said Trump could get re elected  in 2020. He is contradicting himself. He has been saying Trump & the GOP are doomed for the past 18 months.

Joe blasted Democrats for allowing a Hillary to be coronated in 2016.. Joe wants many candidates to run in the Democratic Primary.

I flipped over to CNN & they said a poll showed over 70% had a positive reaction to Trump' speech. Joe will get angry about that result.

Good interview with Congressman Crenshaw. He said that troop morale is better with Trump. Ignatius said that Obama made troops fight with one arm tied behind their back.

Crenshaw said you can't control the rural areas of Afghanistan.

I find it strange that Joe & Mika didn't push back when Crenshaw was talking about 1,000 migrants coming across the border per day in parts of Texas where there is no wall.
