Galileo908 December 16, 2024 Share December 16, 2024 (edited) "I know you hate Patty, Selma, puzzles, and parties, but please try to enjoy Patty and Selma's puzzle party." Not surprised Homer ruins their birthday out of spite. I appreciate Susie Essman barging in to try to improve Krusty's life, and then the dovetail with Homer's plot. I'd watch "The Problem is You." I think a certain someone would appreciate her blaming Marge for all the problems. They all love Marge, but they they can't stand the other taking taking her attention. Patty and Selma liked Artie Ziff, but he was a creep. It showed that they all COULD be friends as long as they had a reason to not feel guilty. But of course the reset button had to be pressed, and Susie had to die. Loved that Mr. Teeny was on the Talking Krusty podcast. I'd listen to that podcast. 3 Day Clams just sounds gross. And if I had a nickel every time a long running animated series had a gross plot about clams in the last few months, I'd have two nickels. (American Dad was the other, fyi) Even though they've met several times by now, loved Moe thinking he hit the jackpot meeting Patty and Selma Pidge and Sidge. Twins AND one of them hates men?! I laughed. Edited December 16, 2024 by Galileo908 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3625-the-simpsons-general-discussion/page/67/#findComment-8533748
Spartan Girl December 16, 2024 Share December 16, 2024 (edited) Oh yes I was loving Aunt Sadie FINALLY call Marge out on her self martyrdom . But I was painfully aware that she’d ultimately wind up off the hook somehow, so I knew it wouldn’t last. Just let me enjoy my small petty victory, and I won’t get bitter about how much better this episode could have been. That being said, it was kind of nice seeing Homer get along with Patty and Selma. And the Moe scene was gold. Edited December 16, 2024 by Spartan Girl 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3625-the-simpsons-general-discussion/page/67/#findComment-8533798

Great jokes. JLo self financed movie. With the show being on for fifty million years, it's easy to forget Ned had two wives die. He needs some therapy. Galileo908 December 23, 2024 Share December 23, 2024 Title: Barney Claus! With SLH as Rudolph! Couch Gag: A live tweet about how the couch gag is lazy. Huh, so Flanders is part of the Pin Pals now. And Burns wearing a "I was a Pin Pals before it was cool" shirt. They brought back Portuguese Fausto! And since this was an Alive parody...he was gonna die. And then it turned out he didn't. I liked the bit where Barney tossed a ball down a crevasse, then picked up the spare. And that the mountain got taller the more Homer walked down it. Well, this is technically a Christmas episode if Marge put up Christmas decorations up in October out of grief. Of all things, snout surprise woke up Homer from waaaaay up that mountain, which I'm just gonna assume was the Murderhorn. Hey, if they remembered Portuguese Fausto, they can remember that. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3625-the-simpsons-general-discussion/page/67/#findComment-8538936

Galileo908 December 30, 2024 Share December 30, 2024 You had that cask of Amontillado walled off two days ago. Heh, Homer kept a cel of Poochie. And random baby teeth. And Flanders' birth certificate. I went and checked, the bowling ball covered up the hole in the wall, so it wasn't a total cheat. And oh no, a certain someone kicked off the plot. Smithers and Marge don't team up that often, but I thought it was fun. And putting Disney synergy to good use by using parodies of the furry Robin Hood movie. (Although in an ideal parody, Smithers would be Sir Hiss and not Robin Hood himself) Although this isn't the first time Marge was tossed in jail, (and over an alcohol-related issue, no less!) but the first time she's tossed in Wine Jail. And we got to see the Wine Counterfeiters from season 1 in Wine Jail, too. The "cover it up" song was fun. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3625-the-simpsons-general-discussion/page/67/#findComment-8542504
Spartan Girl December 30, 2024 Share December 30, 2024 Maybe hell has finally frozen over, but this was a Marge episode that I actually liked! And they managed to pull off a decent Marge and Smithers teamup that didn’t fall back on her very problematic attitude toward LGTBQ people, so points for that. Loved all the Queen music, and I’ve got a soft spot for Disney’s Robin Hood. DoctorAtomic December 30, 2024 Share December 30, 2024 Did anyone get that stupid Special Forces commercial at the start? I thought I missed the show. Who was the redheaded woman at the swingers party? Homer had Ned's birth certificate in the safe and a ribwich. I can't imagine Smithers couldn't find ANYONE but Homer, but obviously that's the show. And wow, MARGE screwed up! Someone is dancing in her living room. I'm thinking the jitterbug. Maybe twirling the hat on her finger. Really though, Smithers could just fill the bottle with something from the wine cellar. No one would really know. 1945 would have been good enough. Nice touch about the isotopes though. I think on Leverage they had to fake a bottle of wine and that was a plot point. For the auction, they would check it. That was a nice sequence with the Fox Robin Hood. The liberty statue had wine and cheese in the scales. I'm just not a wine guy; it gives me a headache. But I took my friend to winery tours, and he scammed us tons of extra pours. It's always worth it for the con. The snooty wine lawyer was way underused. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3625-the-simpsons-general-discussion/page/67/#findComment-8542658

aghst March 30 Share March 30 Have they ever had the old broadcast network convention of 22 or more episodes a season? Usually they'd air like a half dozen to 10 episodes in the spring before going to repeats. But if they're only airing episode 12 of the season at the end of March, looks like they may not even get to 20 episodes for the season. Galileo908 March 31 Share March 31 "Son buy mansion? Bart is son." I'll admit, mashing up Whip It and She Blinded Me With Science sounded real good, and adding Flanders into it was fun. Bart literally waited too long to drop the beat...really seems like a commentary on the first act plot in general of celebrity DJs. That DJ mashup of classic songs at the end was pretty awesome, though. Not long enough. So THIS was the final straw for Flanders? Hey, that vow of silence really let Harry Shearer rest his throat for a while. But man, this really was the angriest Flanders has ever been. Stealing back EVERYTHING Homer "borrowed" from him (including the sailboat painting Marge painted for Homer!) and feeding them into a woodchipper, and the car fight were certainly new. I liked the psychedelic drug trip in couples counseling. And I always appreciate a good Tennessee Tuxedo reference. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3625-the-simpsons-general-discussion/page/67/#findComment-8621246

Spartan Girl March 31 Share March 31 (edited) Getting more pissed off over the genuine apology letter because Flanders felt better thinking Homer was just an idiot was more than a little petty. I liked the kids dancing on the jungle gym. This took quite the left turn. I wasn't expecting Flanders to really get mad. Jane K returns as the judge! Not Homer's imagination, perhaps, because would he know to bring in Casanova and the date of his death? But somebody's. Of course Homer didn't want to take it because it would make him stop eating, and he loves eating! And for once Marge was the one that wanted Homer skinny by any means necessary.
