Guest April 2, 2014 Share April 2, 2014 Because maybe some day they will be again. And we need to start the trend of new threads. No really, its because I need to talk about this again: This is the most surreal foretelling of a TV show I've ever seen.Christopher Judge on MacGyver. But wait, that is not all; and I'm not even talking about the Fade and the Mullet. MacGyver is channeling Sam and teaching physics. MacGyver is channeling Daniel and talking about ancient greeks. There is a chalk drawing on the board with a guy dressed in the costumes of early aliens SG-1 encountered. MacGyver has also drawn a lever system that allows him to move planets, I guess. Is it possible that MacGyver used a stick of gum to split himself and Daniel, Sam, and Jack are all aspects of MacGyver's personality? Link to comment

Guest April 2, 2014 Share April 2, 2014 He certainly wasn't using that stick of gum to get off the glacier in Solitudes That's because when only two thirds of MacGyver is present, you need a stick of gum and a paper clip. Daniel had the paper clip. I really hated all the MacGyver references on the show. I think it was because Sam got stuck with all of them and they were always so stupid. Sam had all the truly deplorably stupid lines in season 1. Link to comment
anstar April 2, 2014 Share April 2, 2014 I've been watching Saving Hope (starring Michael Shanks). It started off pretty blah, and I stuck it out strictly for my Daniel. It's gotten pretty good though. In one scene, which was supposed to be powerful and moving, I was shaking my head. Charlie (Shanks) was remembering a time as a child when he witnessed the tragic and violent deaths of both his parents. This one was a car accident, but I kept thinking about the Jacksons, standing under the giant heavy cover stone they were moving. Darwin at work, right there! 1 Link to comment
stillshimpy April 3, 2014 Share April 3, 2014 (edited) Right? But I also think that what we saw in The Game was what Daniel remembered, vs. what really happened. That or the Jacksons were dumb enough to die ironing in the bathtub, what with their stellar survival skills. Also, Cliff Simon was on The Americans as an agent in the Mossad. Really, really bad accent, but it was intentional. Edited April 3, 2014 by stillshimpy Link to comment
Dusty April 3, 2014 Share April 3, 2014 Technically this isn't another role that a cast member is in but one I wish they were in. I have an irrationally strong desire for Michael Shanks to be the narrator of Ancient Aliens. Everytime I watch the show I'm disappointed when I don't hear his voice. 2 Link to comment

It's gotten pretty good though. I love(d) Saving Hope (because I will watch MS in anything, anytime) and am livid at NBC for pulling it off the air in the States and for the producers not making it available via other methods. I need me some Michael Shanks! That prank clip cracks me up every single time I watch it. I wish RDAs face was clearer to see his reaction. I loved the MacGyver meta, especially in 200 with the Team America (fuck yeah!) puppets. I read that Sam was supposed to hum the MacGyver theme in the elevator during one of the "Pete" episodes but couldn't get it right. Link to comment

TVSpectator April 5, 2014 Share April 5, 2014 (edited) Aha! I'm not insane. Thanks Okay then that great because I kind of thought it was some kind of gag when I saw it. Then again, didn't Shanks and Doing appeared in an action movie (I think it had Stone Cold Steve Austin in it) where Shanks played a Russian mob guy and Doing playing a LA SWAT team member? It's been a while but I remember renting it from Netflix a few years ago and thinking that this movie was a). crazy and b) really not that great. As with TV, I don't remember seeing anyone (except for Amanda Tapping on Sanctuary, David Hewlett/RDA/Michael Shanks guest staring on SGU, Smith on Eureka, Teri Rothery on Caprica, and Joe Flanagan guest staring in WH13) on any TV shows? Has anyone see anyone from the Stargate Franchised on TV, playing an actual large and regular role? I do know that Jason Momoa stared in Game of Thrones (and the Conan Remake) but I haven't watched them (just yet)? Edited April 6, 2014 by TVSpectator Link to comment

Yeah, it's just that I don't want to go out and blurt that it's definitely him, without actual casting conformations, but it probably is him. I do wish there was a place where you can look up which actors have aired in commercials. Although, I would guess that some (or maybe most) actors would rather forget what commercials they have done, especially if it's truly embarrassing/horrifying to do and to be associate with the product. anstar August 5, 2014 Share August 5, 2014 I'm watching the old 70s show Starsky and Hutch and a season 1 episode had a vaguely familiar face so I went to the trusty IMDb to see why. The cocaine dealer/snitch turned murder victim was played by George Dzundza aka Anubis! Cognitive dissonance! Anubis with long hair and bell bottoms was jarring. lol Link to comment

stillshimpy September 22, 2014 Share September 22, 2014 Hey there, Little Doc Sighting. Teryl Rothery (Janet Fraser) apparently has a role on Cedar Cover, a series I've personally been catching on Netflix, but that is normally on The Hallmark channel. She looks like a million damn dollars, by the way. Seriously, a super cute haircut and she looks absurdly fit. Plus, she gets one of the better wardrobes on the show and rocks it. I'm not going to lie, it's not a good show. It's beautiful to look at though and it's sort of sweet and gentle. Probably perfect for something to watch when you're nursing a migraine (I've been watching it while working out and I have to admit, it's not making the grade for that) . It's the most scenic show I have ever seen, but it stars Andie McDowell (and the acting talents or lack thereof she sports) . Teryl is great though, and plays the best character. She's in it a fair amount. In one of the weirder casting choices I've ever seen, they also hired the young woman who played Chloe on SGU to play Grace's (that's Teryl's character) daughter. Apparently they had her dye her hair a sort of red, that mostly looks orange (heaven help her) , maybe because she would have been better suited to playing McDowell's daughter? I'm not sure, but whereas Chloe-actress could very believably play Andie McDowell's daughter, she looks a tad odd playing Teryl's daughter. I'd never noticed that Chloe was about a mile tall, but it really stands out in the role. Plus, she made the classic actor mistake of getting a wee bit too thin, which makes her look even taller. Teryl looks great Elyse has looked better (although she is a beautiful young woman regardless, she doesn't suit the hair color and she looks rather angular at present). So since it is filmed in Vancouver, it has a fair number of Stargate actors in it and it really is harmless and sweet (plus, beautiful) , but I can't say I really recommend it. 1 Link to comment
Idiotboy October 3, 2014 Share October 3, 2014 "Cedar Cover" is like "Stargate: Afterlife" because it seems to be populated with SG characters who bought it in the line of duty. There's lots of Teryl -- which makes everything else bearable, IMO -- but we've also Sheriff Chekhov, Defense Attorney Grodin (SG:A) and now Stalker!Narim ... Chloe died (temporarily) in an SG:U episode, so I guess she fits in there, too. 1 Link to comment
Just Here April 29, 2015 Share April 29, 2015 On last night's iZombie, Teryl Rothery (Dr. Frasier) and Barclay Hope (Colonel Pendergast) played the victim's parents. And, this isn't even the first time they played a married couple: In the CW's short-lived Hellcats, they both had recurring roles as the parents of Ashley Tisdale's character. Link to comment

Joe October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 Tony Amendola is in Fallout 4, a very prominent character you encounter in the main quest. Spoiler Father/Shaun. The problem is, he speaks in very slow and measured tones, using a rather flat American accent instead of his natural voice. Annoying character, too. The game could have been much improved if they'd let him be Bra'tac. Link to comment

Idiotboy December 8, 2018 Share December 8, 2018 Even when SG-1 cast members appear in other shows it's still All About The Hair. In S3:9 of Sanctuary, Jimmy (Michael Shanks) reunites with Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) and the first thing out of his mouth is a compliment on how much he likes the way she's doing her hair (long and brunette). Score on SG-1 shout-out for the writers. 1 Link to comment
BkWurm1 December 8, 2018 Share December 8, 2018 Hahahaaha! I tried but just couldn't get into that show because of the CGI. (and frankly, AT's accent, lol) But I heard a lot of good things as it went on. Link to comment
Idiotboy December 17, 2018 Share December 17, 2018 But Amanda Tapping is British. Why did her accent bug? I'll admit that the green-screen work is an acquired taste (although it looks more persuasive in Blu-Ray, IMO). Personally I'm disappointed that the show ran out of money just after Helen Magnus came out as bisexual. And that the girl-kissing didn't involve Teryl Rothery as the party of the second part. And no more Amanda Tapping in leather on my TV set. Thank God we have the DVDs to preserve all that hotness. Link to comment

Idiotboy December 19, 2018 Share December 19, 2018 I wonder if our Netflix subscription would cover Travelers? Ms. Tapping is worth following anywhere (except Supernatural, which I can't bring myself to watch). Technically, Sanctuary wasn't canceled; the investment fund that was bankrolling the show couldn't come up with the needed capital in time for a fifth season. (Or so the story goes.) We're binge-watching it right now and I dread we will be left dangling from an S4 cliff-hanger that will never be resolved. Link to comment

Idiotboy December 26, 2018 Share December 26, 2018 Speaking of cast members in other roles, Cedar Cove was practically a retirement home for SG-1 veterans. In addition to second-lead Teryl Rothery, it had Garry Chalk (Col. Chekhov), Garwin Sanford (Narim) and Craig Veroni (Dr. Grodin, Stargate Atlantis). Since everyone mentioned bought the farm at some point in their Stargate tenure, it was like Stargate: DOA. Directors Martin Wood and Andy Mikita also dropped anchor there, although it wasn't what you'd call a visually creative show. (Wood, in particular, must have been bored stiff after SG-1, SG:A and Sanctuary.) 2 Link to comment
