I tend to think that trying to make KC a place on the show had a ripple effect that did hurt the show pretty badly.  She's what turned Quentin stupid and into a creepy stalker.  So that wipes off the

I may have died at the way Oliver smiles when Felicity is leaving the Arrow cave.

 

And yay! I'm excited that the Oliver/Diggle conflict is due to Oliver wanting Diggle to stay safe, due to the baby, as several of you speculated.

 

Given the "you catch 'em, I kill 'em" spoiler, Oliver and Laurel being "partners" isn't a big surprise. I can live with that, but I still hope we see about two minutes of her per episode.

Clip looks great. I'm so in love with CL's Sara, so badass, she gives me Faith Lehane feels. Happy Camper here.

No, I don't think she's there, either in the panel or in Paul's photo. They haven't revealed a single spoiler except maybe this

Flashback episode to Felicity & her time at MIT is coming. Title of the episode is "Oracle."

Stephen was right the trailer is awesome! Even though they've spoiled so much of the date my shipper heart was still singing during the Olicity bits. I've never seen Oliver look so hopeful...and while I know Felicity is gonna be okay, she does look majorly banged up there on the table. That doesn't look like a minor injury.. 

 

And yes, it does seem that we were right about why it is that Oliver and Diggle are clashing. Hopefully its resolved early in the season though. I really don't want these two at odds for longer than is necessary.

Show, Barbara Gordon is Oracle. End of story. Though, that said, is it wrong to say that my real objection to Felicity as an even potential Oracle is that I would really, really, really like to have a Bird of Prey who has never ever been romantically or sexually involved with Oliver Queen?

Same. I don't want Felicity to be Oracle because I like that she is her own unique character. Maybe it's a hint that she'll be interacting with the real Barbara Gordon in some way? Or would that be too deep into Bat territory?

Also, Felicity ends her date with Oliver bloodied and unconscious and it still isn't even her worst date ever. I really hate to think what happened to qualify it as the worst.

One of the producers said that we got clues about Felicity's backstory in S1 and we'd be seeing flashbacks to her at MIT - we know she can count cards...any thoughts on what the backstory is? I really hope she ran some kind of underground gambling ring, LOL.

I did hear rumors that the show was trying to bring Barbara Gordon in, or at least wanted her if/when they were able to launch a Birds of Prey spinoff. How that will work with a Commissioner Gordon very definitely on another show on another network I don't know, but it's definitely a possibility.

It looked like Sara beat up some random bad dude, then said the line to Oliver who either shows up or she surprises.

I'm really hoping the show gives Felicity and Diggle code names and the Oracle is Felicity's since it drives me crazy that they are using their real names over very hack-able com links.  Especially since Diggle is his real last name and not that hard to track down if someone like the Clock King wants to.

Yeah, it just looks like whoever she beats up is wearing a hood when the camera pans up to her. I just figured whoever she said that to had to be familiar with her in order to look surprised, and AFAIK she wasn't all that well known for her crime fighting throughout the city for a random criminal to recognize her.

Yeah, Thea's storyline looks really interesting to me this year and she has great chemistry with Barrowman (appropriate father/daughter kind of chemistry only) so I'm looking forward to seeing her training and such.

 

Also, is the jacket that Sara is wearing in the trailer the one that she gave to her sister?  Maybe she took it back.

I'm guessing since it's her MIT days. My head canon for a while has been that Felicity might have been a hacktivist back then. I'm also laughing because this is a fan fic (mine, actually) so I'm now wondering if I'm right about that. I'm really glad they put the "Ivo was Felicity's father" speculation to rest. Glad to see the source of Diggle's and Oliver's tension is Oliver trying to keep Dig safe. But nothing on Thea - not surprised. I had a feeling they were going to sit on that. I am surprised there was nothing on Laurel. That business partners thing has to be the Arrow/DA partnership - she doesn't have money. But is that all she has going on in the premiere? I've never seen a network do so little to promote their female lead.

I have been holding back on getting too invested in Oliver and Felicity since late S1, and with one clip they're messing with my resolve lol. How cute was that smile? I think it's going to break my heart a little to see Oliver happy and then not by the end. Also, Felicity didn't look so good... explosion at the restaurant maybe?

Last but definitely not least.... if they ever want me to grudgingly accept Laurel as Black Canary, they should probably stop showing Sara being the perfect badass Canary. Because every time I see Sara being as awesome as she was in that clip, I cringe at the idea that we'll likely have LaurelasCanary forced upon us in future. :(

I find it hilarious that after everyone's speculation, including mine, Laurel shows up in a business suit and Sara's the one wielding the stick apparently after picking up another jacket.

THIS, SO MUCH. Also, Felicity and Diggle yell "Oliver" over comms all the time too, SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE, there's a reason law enforcement uses codenames for covert ops.

I'm conflicted about them using "Oracle" because Babs is my faaaaavorite, but they named an episode "Birds of Prey" solely because there was a Canary and a Huntress present, and IN NO WAY an actual BoP team, so maybe this is more of that.

I'm wondering if there's no Thea footage because they haven't started filming yet. From interviews, it sounds like she'll be missing for the first few episodes, so I doubt they had anything to put in that trailer.

 

I am a total Felicity stan, but no for Oracle. She deserves her own hacker/superhero name. I would love for her to have some interaction with Oracle though, even if it's just on a computer since I doubt Show will get Barbara Gordon. I think they'd like each other.

I always figured the card counting thing was from growing up in Vegas. If her mom was a cocktail waitress, I'd assume she's familiar with casinos. She appeared to be in that S1 episode with her comments about no slot machines. I'm also still leaning toward her having been a hacktivist of some kind while at MIT. It would explain her familiarity with hacking things we've seen her hack (police database, crime lab, etc.) She could have used the name Oracle online. I don't think they'll be allowed to use Babs on Arrow - not with Gotham on air and the lockdown on Batman. I'm okay with Felicity being called Oracle if it happens. It doesn't mean she'll be crippled or end up on a BoP spinoff. The show doesn't follow canon that closely. Even if there's a BoP episode, Felicity would still be running the computers no matter what they called her - Oracle, Watchtower, something else. I'm not reading too much into the name at this point.

The trailer looks good, but then again so do most trailers, their job is to show the most awesome parts so we'll watch it when it airs. If they want me to see Laurel as the BC STOP teasing me with Sara. 

 

The name Oracle isn't just a comic book character. That word has been around forever and used to describe anyone considered wise counsel or someone having prophetic predictions of the future. So I wouldn't mind if Felicity's hacker name was Oracle.

They kind of confirmed that, I think. Barrowman said he hadn't seen his scripts yet, so Thea/Malcolm are the series regulars missing for the first few episodes. I'm guessing they show up in 304.

I hope the fact that CL and EBR are filming means that Sara and Felicity have some scenes together.

Happy thought, I'd love to see Sara/Felicity scenes.

Sad thought. ..does that mean KC was filming too? She wasn't at the panel but no mention of KC or Laurel at all.

The info that came out of the panel was kind of underwhelming. They barely released anything new. At the very least, I expected them to announce who Laurel's new love interest is going to be. Maybe they will do that at the big DC event tomorrow evening. The trailer looks good, though.

IA I thought the casino stuff was the hints to her back story there have been a couple, the casino scene where she says "How do you call yourself a casino with no lucky sevens. I'll have a stack of high society (large denomination chips)" and once at QC when she says, "good news or bad news first? I suggest the good news, tends to soften the blow of the bad news" Oliver gives her a look and she replies "okay, dealers choice"

 

ETA: Sara hits a guy with a suit on and then the scene cuts and it looks like the person wearing the hood is Roy, I slowed it down and she isn't hitting the guy in the hood. The scene before that shows Oliver fighting a guy in a suit jacket. So I'm guessing Roy and Oliver are on a roof fighting suit guy and Sara shows up to help out.

 

This Roy/Ray thing is going to mess me up so bad.

I'm actually kind of glad because I'm really excited for the new season despite the lack of info, and I was worried some kind of Laurel mess was going to make me want to tune out.

 

I cannot WAIT for Thea and Malcolm. I think Thea's story is going to be amazing.

Why are all the Counts Vertigo so focused on Felicity. I am assuming this will be the work of the count. 

 

I'm not sure if the explosion (which is what that has to be) is Vertigo. I think there was a video or article where they said this Count would be a recurring villain, and there was a VOTW in this ep too? Or maybe I misread/heard.

They said he will be the villain in season premiere so i am guessing its him.

Were there any question about Laurel at all?

No questions, no mentions of Laurel or KC by cast, moderator or audience.

One minor reference by PB to "his daughters". I heard CL was mentioned.

I wonder if Sara's back with Nyssa and is all happy and in love that's why she's telling Oliver to go get him some? And I can only hope Sara gave her jacket to Laurel because it was ripped and she needed a new one anyway. 

 

I'm wondering if the DC panel tomorrow calls Caity the Black Canary. Because if you do look at the interviews even the ones by the EP's, they call Sara the Black Canary and Oliver just gets called Arrow.

Hmmm, I feel like the episode being titled 'Oracle' does have something to do with Barbara Gordon. Maybe Felicity met a young Barbara Gordon at MIT and Barbara is the one who got Felicity into hacking in the first place? I don't know, but I think that would be a cool connection for the show to make if they ever decide to do a BoP spin off. A connection independent of Oliver's manbits. Sara and Helena both slept with Oliver while Felicity and Barbara are old college roommates or something. 

 

 

I think the problem is they released so much leading up to SDCC that we got nothing really new.

 

Exactly and I figured that would happen. Even watching the bits of the date I was excited but I still thought to myself, I'd be even more excited if the EPs hadn't blabbed so much.
