Nashville Spoilers and Speculation

Recommended Posts

From the description of her stumbling across the prenup documents, it's also a possibility that the problem is not so much the idea of a prenup but more the fact that he just went ahead and had the documents drawn up without discussing it with her first and is presumably planning to present it for her to sign as a fait accompli. It's manipulative, and it comes across like an ultimatum. Plus, it completely ignores the fact that she has sizable assets of her own and would probably want input into the terms of the prenup if she were willing to consider signing one.

All this talk about how Rayna greeted Deacon got me thinking. I didn't really pay attention to this. But I remember how last week that Maddie didn't get a chance to spend any time with Deacon during her visit with Rayna and Luke. And we know that Maddie is unhappy that Rayna is marrying Luke.

It seems to me that this all could add to a custody suit. In fact, Maddie is probably old enough to choose who she lives with.

That's why I think they didn't punish her. All three parents - Rayna, Teddy and Deacon - are competing with each other.

It won't take much at this point for Maddie to start whining about how she wants to live with Deacon.

I don't think Deacon is competing with Rayna or Teddy but I think he should start thinking of getting a lawyer to find out what his rights are as the biological father of Maddie. Rayna's remark to Deacon when she saw him at her house "Nice of you to come" was IMO kind of condescending. What she should have added to that comment if it was sincere when she was walking away turning back to Deacon and say "Are you coming." All three needed to be there when Maddie was called on her bad choice. Rayna wants Deacon to be a good parent but her and Teddy only want him to be involved when they say so. Deacon has so far not challenged both of them but I think it's about time he does. How long before he finally takes charge and tells them he wants to be included in every decision that has to do with Maddie.

Juliette and Avery will marry without a prenup.

I am wondering about the spoilers posted about Juliette and Avery (their marrying), Deacon getting ill, and Gunnar finding out that that little boy isn't his. Are these all supposed to happen BEFORE the winter break? Am assuming last episode before the holidays will be either Dec 3 or Dec 10.How does dark ufo get these spoilers? All 3 are pretty revealing so just a bit surprised by the detail.

Also saw it reported by Eonline about 'a wedding will happen but it won't be Rayna/Luke', so am assuming Juliette/Avery is the only logical choice - but then again this is Nashville..is there anyone else it could be?.  And of course if Juliette and Avery do marry, they'll probably only be happy for about two episodes. As others may have stated, they might just have the baby die which would likely drive them apart. But if the viewing schedule for the show is similar to last year, and what with Hayden P likely to give birth in Dec (not sure if that is so but looks that way), might they marry off J/A and then give them both a few episodes off? Wondering how Hayden's pregnancy/delivery will impact how much we see Juliette....

-

As for Gunnar, think many of us saw that coming with the kid possibly being his brother's, but since I just don't care about it.

Giving Deacon a disease seems downright cliché/incredibly soapy/a desperate plot device, even for Nashville. But Charles Esten would surely act the hell out of it. He's so good and he, Juliette, and Avery are these days the main reason I watch.

Sadly, the marriage could be Gunnar and one of his women, but who would care? Hell, it could be Teddy and that hooker, but again...

I am truly hoping that it IS Avery and Juliette. Just gonna keep my fingers crossed for a healthy baby and a marriage. With Nashville, you just never know.

I don't think the boy is Gunnar's, but I don't know why the chick would lie about it. *shrugs*

I would hate the sick Deacon storyline, especially if that's the reason Rayna's lightbulb goes off and she suddenly realizes she's still in love with him. Shouldn't take all of that contrivance to get those two together.

.How does dark ufo get these spoilers?

Most spoiler sites get their information from casting sides, like from Showfax.  Actors or agents pay $1 per page and then go to the auditions with those pages.  So, let's say they're looking for an actor or actress to play a Justice of the Peace or a DJ at a country station.  If the bit part has lines on at the bottom of page 5 and the top of page 6, they'll usually release the entire page 5 and 6.  On those pages, you'll catch the tail end of a scene where Luke beats up Rayna (we all know it's happening; dude has been creep since day one) or Avery and Juliette get married or whatnot.  That's how spoiler websites work.

As much as I love spoilers, I'm a little uncomfortable with the amount of privileged sides information that has been leaked lately.

I work regularly as background on the show and they've imbedded it into our heads that as professionals, we are not to leave set and talk about what we saw/heard/filmed. I can remember vividly a day when someone took a photo of Hayden in a completely non-spoiler scenario (it was a concert scene--no way to tell what was happening plot wise) and he was threatened legally by ABC and escorted off the soundstage for breach of confidentiality.

Sure, anyone can buy sides, but it's definitely unprofessional to leak them verbatim to spoiler sites or on public forums. This show is not above holding the sides if they want to keep something secret--they were held when Peggy was killed and for the finale as to not spill Deacon's proposal, for example.

My fear is that if these storylines continue to leak in such an uncontrolled manner, we simply won't have the sides anymore.

Just my two cents. *endrant*

People shared this worry on Buffy spoiler sites over 15 years ago.  Nothing has changed.

Now I don't really know but the huge leak that came out to spoilertv was unprecedented... Many people have speculated that it was intentional on the show's part?

Yeah, it was literally everything verbatim. Definitely unprecedented--it gave away all major plot points/cliffhangers of the winter finale!

I thought it could be intentional to keep people watching, but when a couple of people from the show tweeted the link they were very quickly shut down and the tweets were deleted. Now said people are denying the spoilers are true.

Plus, even when they've teased major happenings they haven't given EVERYTHING away.

Who knows?

Yes, a lot of the hardcore fans of the show have been extremely disappointed with this season's general direction, and I feel that the criticism is warranted. It felt like "hey, please stop, we're getting away from it."

However the real problem the way I see it isn't so much Rayna marrying Luke or the show putting contrivance after contrivance in the way of Scarlett and Gunnar to get any meaningful relationship - even if I hate how they are doing it - as much as the completely unfocused storyline and the staggering amount of recurrings that become nothing but distraction.

Magpie: The winter finale side spoilers were posted on spoilerTV. Someone posted the link a couple pages back.

Basically Deacon is diagnosed with some horrible illness, Rayna dumps Luke, and Avery and Juliette get married.

(Cats out of the bag at this point.)

Has Deacon's illness been shot or can we hope that they just might dump that idea? I hate how they worded it seriously ill. If the spoiler had said Deacon is ill I would feel better.

I have a hard time imagining that they would not go through with the stuff since that's like, well, the basic idea of the story arc of the show, and there haven't been many people who have complained about it.

Link to comment

Where do we complain about that story line? If it's going to be Rayna finds out about Deacon being ill and she finally sees how her life would be without him, I as a viewer don't want that. I feel sorry for him so I'll change my mind about that clean slate. She can take that and shove it if you know what I'm thinking. Pity is not what I'm looking for, for them to get back together, working on a solid relationship as a couple. This series can take one whole year but at least working on a relationship and not pity.

After what we have been putting up with I don't care if it takes Deacon going through a month of constipation (that we have to watch) if that's what it takes for Rayna to get her head out of her ass.

LOL Airwair! I'd rather it come naturally as well, but if a serious illness gets them talking again, then I guess I can go with it - I'd just rather it not be alcohol-related. I would just soooo like to see Rayna come down off the high horse she's been on for the last year.

Link to comment

Airwair -  At least constipation can be taken care of with a laxative in one day. Love when posters get really angry, pissy and down right frigin mad. Series needs to define serious illness. That's whats making me angry. Deacon's ill with pneumonia, hepatitis C, anything like liver problems, or weaking of heart muscles beause of his prior drinking means transplant. All or just some of the writers need to be transplanted somewhere else other than Nashville.

Will this series with these so call writers ever give us back the Rayna Jamyes we all feel in love with in Season 1????

Count me among those who will take the disease (even if it's alcohol-related...come on, it's got to be, right??) if it gets Rayna and Deacon back together. I no longer wish for high-falutin' things like self-awareness and good drama from this show. I'm just wishing for "not boring," and even when they're fighting, Rayna and Deacon are not boring.

Totally agree with this. My main problem with Nashville lately is that it's dull.

I watched the first two episodes of this season and it just wasn't going in any directions I felt like following.  Avery basically slut-shaming Juliette? What the hell?  A continued attempt to make me invest in Debra Messing's boyfriend as a character?  More Sad, Glad, Mad Maddie? It felt like the show was treading water.  So it's piling up on my DVR and I check in here from time-to-time to see how the plots developing. Oh goody Gunnar has a secret kid ...? Huh? Why was that necessary in amongst the plethora of children and baby stories littering the joint? Did they think Gunnar would feel left out?!?

I must say, at least this current batch of spoilers makes me think "Well, maybe I should catch up and watch again" in a way nothing else has.  The show seemed to go off on some narrative tangent that really muddled the story.  I'm sure Deacon will be okay  Seriously is not a synonym for chronically or terminally.  It would also give Charles Esten something to do other than mope.

I'm working as background this Thursday and it's wedding related.  Background actors include caters, florists, decorators, a wedding planner, electricians and wedding set-up crew.  I'm guessing it's for Juliette and Avery.

Tomorrow they're filming something with a doctor, nurses and hospital visitors.

Just saw pictures on episode #7. Promo photos are out and it looks like a little problem with Maddie, Colt, Rayna and Luke since most of the pictures are all of them in Rayna's house talking about something involving Maddie and Colt. We finally get to see Sage seems like a nice girl, haven't heard her talk so I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

Do we know it is Avery and Juliette that get married? It might be fun if it were someone else. Gunnar could marry three different characters. Deacon could marry Pam. Teddy could marry the hooker. I would like any of those, personally.

Deacon better not get anything alcohol related. He stopped drinking young, thirteen years ago. So, not realistic for him to develop something now. But since when has logic ever held this show back. I am really curious what they do give him.

Still hoping Scarlett and her magic man score a number one.

And I want the current version of Layla to stick around. She and Will can be the new Sid and Nancy.

The prenup seems contrived. They're both celebrities. After this long wait, Luke should be evil with a capital 'E' when he finally emerges.

So Ausiello is reporting Layla hooks up with "someone very unexpected". Someone here called Layla and Jeff last week (or the week before). That makes the most sense to me, but is that very unexpected? Who else could it be? Avery?

Link to comment

"Unexpected" can mean something very different for the casual viewer than for those of us who analyze and dissect the show. I think just about every so-called shocking moment has been called ahead of time by someone here (or on TwoP before its demise).

So I'm going to go ahead and say it's Jeff.

Gunnar would be at the top of my list.

I wouldn't be surprised. As if he needs a 4th lady to add to his roster.

Unexpected to them is Jeff. Unexpected to us would be Teddy, Tandy or Bucky.

Lots of Nashville stars were at the CMAs last night. I wonder if they filmed some because Clare Bowen was in a very "Scarlett" formal gown.

I didn't see pics of Hayden or Jonathan. Perhaps Avery and Juliette skip the CMAs to get married?

I fear it will be Juliette and whoever Derek Hough plays because they love to put Juliette through every wringer possible.

As a viewer it is tiring to watch, but HP consistently delivers whatever batshit crazy story in a way that keeps me hoping for this crazy kid, even when she is being totally unlikable.  But come on - HP is late in her pregnancy IRL, please please please give her a cake walk storyline and let her be happy for a couple of eps (in a row).

Well after reading these spoilers I'm relieved to see that Gunnar is not the father.

However given his lack of family I think he still care a lot if Jason is the father. On the plus side for Jason is, it will still be Gunnar's nephew and a link to his brother. It could be revealed from DNA possibly. (uncle and nephew sharing more than two strangers?)

I think the boy's father could be someone else neither Jason nor Gunnar. I think Kylie could be on the run from her real baby-daddy.

Has anyone read the promos on episodes 7 thru 11 that are making me feel better on what's going to happen then I've felt for a long time.. Rayna wins at the CMA's (don't know what episode that is) for "This Time" and as she's talking about the person who means so much to her, how she wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him, everyone thinks she's talking about LW but then says my co-writer Deacon Claybourne made me the happiest fan ever. I can't believe we are finally going to see the good times coming between D/R....I've heard episode #11 is the best ever and I can't wait to see it.

This is the December 3rd episode from SpoilerTV:

“Nashville” -- “Two Sides to Every Story” -- Rayna continues to pull out all stops in self-promotion, this time by agreeing to do a televised Christmas special from her home for charity, with Luke and the children. But when she invites Deacon to join in, things get awkward fast. Her magazine cover story has reverberations for her personal life. Meantime, it’s Nashville’s Winterfest and Zoey, Gunnar and Avery have an opportunity to perform. With Scarlett’s coaching, Terry (Mykelti Williamson) sings for the crowd and blows them away, but cannot handle the limelight. Will and Layla go to Winterfest and each find solace, but separately. (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET)

Do you think with Winterfest and a Christmas special, the cast will sing their new holiday album?

I rolled my eyes when I read about Layla's "very unexpected" hookup, which will probably be Jeff. She doesn't interact with anyone else. What would actually be unexpected would be if it was with a woman. In her drunken raging against Will, I could almost see her hooking up with a woman out of some ill-conceived notion of spite.

I'm curious to see how this plays out, Rayna asking Deacon to join the family Special.

I'm guessing Maddie, might play a part in that.

Still, what does she say,"So Deacon, I know you're madly in love with me. It wasn't that long ago that you proposed. I know I rejected you for Luke, and broke your heart again, but let's not dwell on that.

How would you like to be in the family Christmas special?. It won't be awkward at all! We're adults we can handle it!

You want to do Blue Christmas?. OK, not awkward!
