  1. Always been team Deacon, he's always been my favorite character, while I liked Rayna a lot, loved the R/D relationship, to me, it was never OK, that she lied to Deacon for all those years, about Maddie, while still, keeping him in her life I would also, love to see more of the musical Deacon..A new relationship, that starts slowly, develops as a friendship, could be interesting Yes realistically, its way too early, but, we're talking about a leading man, and TV time ? Incidentally, I see nothing wrong with his relationship, with Daphne. He's an inexperienced parent, now, he's a single parent to 2 teens! Yikes!! He loves them both, and is trying hard ❤️
  2. I am so glad that someone else picked up,on the weird staircase thing! I have loved Deacon, since Episode One. They Better Not have sneaking a drink here and there, to cope with everything. Remember Maddie comment that Deacon was always working late. He's trying so hard, but, not sure he's really dealing with his grief. Between work and the girl's is he trying to bury it?
  3. I also disagree with all of this. I don't know Connie, at all, of course, but, I can't imagine, she would want her decision, to cost 3 other people their jobs. Particularly, Chip Esten. A very attractive, talented guy, but, he's 51 years old. I don't imagine roles are just being flung at you, at that age, and he seems to love the one he has! Also his family moving away, Deacon staying, and visiting, now and then , would have made no sense, character wise. As their story was playing out, neither Deacon or Rayna would have remotely, been OK, with that!
  4. We all have to make tough decisions in our lives, sometimes, it's scary, sometimes, it's sad, because we're torn. As another poster said, we'll never know, for sure, but it sounds like see cared, a great deal, about the show, and had made some great friends, there. At the same time, I got the feeling she felt she given everything to the character, that she could, that, there was no professional challenge for her, in staying. So do you stay and not really enjoy what you're doing, or, do you challenge yourself, once again, to try something new. It's so easy, to stay where you're comfortable, surrounded by people you enjoy, doing a job you know you can do; much tougher to take a leap, not knowing where you'll land. Making changes, moving forward, taking risks. It's called living! I'll miss her on the show, but, I wish her well. p.s.: Based on the character Rayna was, the relationships, in her life, I don't think, there was any reasonable way, short of her death, to write Connie out. There were moments, in the episodes leading up to her death, where, she made it clear to her family, she'd always be there for them. Hopefully, going forward, the knowledge of how much she loved them, would never have left, voluntarily, will comfort and strengthen them.
  5. Me too. I hope that Daphne and Deacon do develop a close relationship. I don't have a problem, with Daphne also spending time with Teddy, just off screen, please. I like Eric Close, never a fan, of the Teddy character.
  6. And as some others have pointed out, what was Highway 65 going to do, had Rayna not died; how were they going to pay the bills? So why the urgency?
  7. He knows a great deal about music, and he's Rayna's widower, why shouldn't he be there? I don't believe that either Rayna or Luke Wheeler had any particular business experience, yet they both became Label Heads. Curious, why the intense dislike of Deacon?
  8. No doubt Teddy loved his Daughter's, but, he was perfectly happy to, in fact, demanded to, raise Maddie on a lie, about her true paternity. Deacon was sober, productive, and a great friend to Rayna, yet, he had no right to know he was a Father? That lie was wrong, no matter how you spin it. Hopefully all of the adults will consider what's best for the girl's. I suspect both Scarlett and Juliette would be willing to help Deacon. Any decision is going to be tough!
  9. Question: WHEN have we seen Deacon do all this drinking? I've seen every episode of Nashville, at least once, and I recall One Episode in which he drank.. The episode in which he found out, the love of his life, had lied about having a child together. Not an excuse, but certainly, not like he's spent 4.5 years on and off the wagon. He was sober for like 12 years before the relapse, and he's been sober since! Hopefully, the promise he made to Rayna, his love for the girls, the support of family and friends, and his own strength, will help him navigate grief, without alcohol.
  10. They just needed Juliette to hear something bad was going down with Rayna, since no one else would have thought to tell her. I'm assuming both Juliette and Rayna would have been treated at Vanderbilt, in Nashville. A Major Medical Center. I'd further assume, that's where this episode was supposed to take place. I don't find anything odd, about both of them having the same Ortho Dr. Early in the episode, someone said their top Orthopedic surgeon had been called in. Two big stars, would, most likely, be getting the car of a top Dr,, especially for complicated cases. The scene in the Drs office, where Juliette and Avery, just happened to be there, at the right time to hear about Rayna, yes, that was a little contrived
  11. I didn't find the episode boring, at all. I enjoyed it I actually appreciate that CMT Nashville is not so frenetic, with wildly over the top storylines, storylines that were so dark and depressing.
  12. The last interview that I saw, from Connie Britton, she basically said she was all in for this Season, and not sure where, all the stories came from. I gues we'll see how that plays out, but it didn't sound definite, that she was leaving.
  13. Ummmm-I have watched every episode, at least once, from Episode 1. I recall One Time, at the end of Season 1, when Deacon got drunk. His fall off the wagon, was after learning: (a) The Woman he had loved and trusted, more than anyone, on the planet, most of his life, had betrayed him, by keeping the secret of their Daughter, for 13 years, while keeping him in her life. (b) He had learned his AA sponsor, Coleman, was involved, at least in counseling Rayna, to permanently cut Deacon loose, and perhaps, in the paternity cover up. (c) Jolene, Juliette's Mom, that he had been trying so hard to help, with her addiction issues, had been involved in a murder-suicide! Not saying that falling off a 13 year wagon, was a good way to handle all of this; but, as reasons go, I'd say, easier to understand than many! When else, has Deacon gotten drunk, let alone, every Season!
  14. I think Chip and Connie have some of the best screen Chemistry I have ever seen on Primetime TV. The only actors I compare it to; Roy Dupuis and Peta Wilson, Michael and Nikita, on the original TV version of La Femme Nikita, on USA, and that was years ago, and a Very different type of show. I still, love their angsty, tumultuous, passionate relationship. A love that survives the worst they can throw at it. The one thing I hoped we would see, in their relationship, before the end; Rayna really accepting her share of their pain and problems. As the therapist pointed out, she built a wall, then put a door in it. A door that she pulled Deacon in and out of, at will; knowing how much in love with her, he still was. Was he a grown man, who could have walked away; of course. Just like she was a grown woman, who could have walked away from a dysfunctional relationship, with an alcoholic who just couldn't stay sober. If Deacon can play the martyr, so can Rayna; not missing a chance to throw their history and all the pain, he caused, in his face. "This is what I've suffered through, all these years"! I wanted to see Rayna, at some point, acknowledge, the ultimate betrayal, in their relationship was her's. The 13 year paternity secret, while keeping Deacon, close in her, and her girl's life. I wanted to see both of them really address that, and the pain it caused. At this point,I'm guessing, we'll end with R/D in a better place, committed to working on their marriage. Better than seeing a couple, who, just a couple of months ago, vowed their lives, to each other, head down Divorce path!
  15. Sighhhh- since the show was cancelled, maybe one of the talented fan fic writers, can do that very story❤️
