Vikings 23 - Jets 17

The Vikings tried like hell (after going up 17-0) to flat out piss that away (🤬). Thank god, the defense got it done at the end. The Vikings really irritated me from 2nd Quarter on till the end. They nearly ruined my day with their ineptness in the 2nd half. They're very lucky they won.

Now, with another Jets loss in the books (😊), hopefully we get the same result tonight from a certain loser vile team with that star on their helmets. I really want to see some more sadness from Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, & the rest of the Jones family.

Panthers… Ugh!
I live in Asheville surrounded by all the devastation Helene left. Was hoping the Panthers would maybe provide some welcome relief. No such luck :(

My family was spared and we feel lucky but my husbands job was destroyed in Biltmore Village. I’m out of work due to no school being in session and we are housing and providing showers, laundry and water to as many families as we can.

Looks like Jayden Daniels/Commanders are the real deal.  I hope this continues.

No big deal regardless.  Until proven otherwise, there's no point in judging Washington & Jayden next week but if things look great going forward, that is a good thing for the NFL.  Too bad a quarter century of the history of the league as it relates to Washington tainted things for them, ruined things as it relates to a very decent franchise.

While the arrow is pointing up, you can't really judge today as a sample of possible very good things to come

You should have yelled back at whoever yelled at you mojoween.  I think you definitely have the most valid reason to hate them.  Other than maybe merylinkid.  Not sure if Baltimore tops the list of "supposed to hate those guys" the most.

It'll be like me being super happy for Cleveland.  Why watch the sport if I'm supposed to feel pleasant for someone I couldn't care less about!

Of course not.  That's why I said I hope it continues.  Can't someone have some hope?

It was a joke.  The comment was directed at the Browns.  To be more specific, Cleveland has chosen to turn back to their losing ways, and if someone were to include Week 5 as a sample of good things to come for Washington (before everything else) that wouldn't be a good idea.

The Commanders, prior to their home win against Cleveland have been labeled as the NFC version of Lamar/Baltimore.  Outside of Week One, early or not, they have looked very good.  As for their road game against Tampa (starring a good guy the Browns turned against), that can happen.  The weather in Tampa Bay was horrible to begin with, and the NFC South champions are still a very good team.  One that can still win its division for the 4th consecutive season.

Looks like I'll catch Steelers/Cowboys early Monday morning at the earliest.  Nothing I can do about the weather I don't think.  And speaking of that...

While we're thinking about Carolina, I have to think about Tampa (and Florida).  Something I meant to express earlier.  Situations beyond my control have been on my mind this weekend.  While I'm back up North right now currently (was there for a bit as has been the case for the past half decade / half dozen years), stay safe.  Thinking about Chit Chat and company.  One's well being is more important than an NFL outcome.

I didn't watch this game - at what point did Aaron Jones go out with his injury?  Is that what caused the offense to sputter?

I hate everyone.

And I have to roll my eyes at the commentary on how many fans stayed to the end despite the delayed start.  No shit, Sherlocks.  With how much tickets cost, most Steelers fans in the stands have jobs where they can leave their boss a message saying the game went long so they'll be coming in/logging on late, and Cowboys fans had already taken Monday off.

So Josh Allen had to have been concussed, right?  It even looks like he was knocked unconscious (look at how his left hand plops to the ground at the end).  But they got him back in there (complete with an offer of smelling salts) because a woozy Allen is still better than Mitch Trubisky?

THIS is what happened to the Bills at the end.   Allen was concussed and should not have been playing.

Not quite the same, but when I was a kid, I played Little League for one season only.   The opposing pitcher got hit in the head with a wild throw by the catcher to second (lot more to the play I'm trying to be concise).  He was clearly concussed but it was the 70s and you didn't take a kid out of a game for getting "his bell rung."   Every pitch after that was wild.   I mean batters getting hit or almost hit (I got hit, slow reflexes).

Josh Allen's play after he went down reminded me of that.

there is video of them handing him smelling salts on the sideline.   If the guy needs smelling salts, he isn't fit to go back in.

One last thing -- How bout them 'Boys?

Well they can cut him, but they have to eat the salary, yeah?

Yeah, and $130 million is a very big lunch.  But Jimmy and Dee Haslam wanted to sign him in the worst way, and so they did. Bon appetit!

It's not solely on DeShaun, the offensive line has been decimated by injuries and there are a lot of guys playing either out of position or with very little experience.

DeShaun's press conferences, where he takes none of the blame and complains about everything else are not endearing him to the populace either.

The Browns also have repeatedly gotten penalties for 'process' type errors like off sides.  Over and over again, game after game and from a wide range of players.  Seems like the coaching staff is not doing their jobs either.

There is no such thing as an okay loss in the NFL. It doesn't exist & should never ever exist in the NFL.

Speaking of losses, hopefully we will see a loss in London tomorrow for a certain crappy green team from New York. Hopefully, Davante Adams will wise up & not subject himself going from one crappy team (Raiders) into another crappy team (Jets). Besides, he wouldn't be much of a help for the Jets because the Jets suck, Aaron Rodgers suck, their coach suck, their owner suck, Fireman Ed suck, & the Jets will find a way to lose even more games with him there.

Your wish came true.

The sorry sucky Jets are just fired their crappy coach Robert Saleh. Its just too bad that the Jets couldn't fire their crummy QB Aaron Rodgers & their worthless fan, Fireman Ed.

Davante Adams  would be smart to stay far away from them.

Maybe, we will get lucky & we'll never see Robert Saleh working in the NFL or College Football in any capacity ever again. Hell, I wouldn't let him work in Pop Warner or High School Football.

Apparently Saleh had no clue this was coming and was completely blindsided.  I believe that.   Its only week 5, and the Jets lost because of Rodgers throwing interceptions not because of anything the coach did.   He was also escorted out of the building by security which seems extreme.

But damn, Woody, he now has ALL WEEK to talk to all the talk shows about is REALLY going on with the Jets.

Wait, the Jets are headed into a game against the Bills for FIRST place in the AFC East and they fire their head coach?   Umm contending for first and an automatic playoff berth is not signs of a need for change.

All i can guess is Rodgers wanted a scapegoat for his interceptions.   HE certainly wasn't going to take the blame for it.   And Woody Johnson was more than willing to fire the minority HC to make his very white QB happy.

The Bucs are supposed to play the Saints in New Orleans this Sunday, but I wonder if they'll postpone this game due to the hurricane. The Bucs players need to focus on their families and make sure they're okay.  Football should be the least of their concerns at the moment.  Tampa is in the crosshairs on this one, with the rest of the state being affecting to one extent or another.

The Jaguars are supposed to play in London.  I'm not sure if they're already there, but if not, I wonder if they'll go.  Jacksonville is under hurricane warning too, so that area could see damaging winds and flooding.  Again, as a player, I would want to be with my family.

The Dolphins have a bye, so they don't have to worry about a game.

I've got family & friends on both coasts.  My best wishes to any fellow posters in the path, or with family/friends in the path of this beast.
