Bengals up 21-0 on the Falcons, Burrow with over 200 yards passing already, he’s carving up the Falcons defense.

Lions/Cowboys are tied at 3, Lions are hanging in there surprisingly well so far.

Titans up 3-0 on the Colts in a big AFC South showdown.

The PJ Walker led Panthers are up 7-0 on Brady and the Bucs at halftime, looking to pull off a huge upset. This would be an embarrassing loss for the Bucs.

Bengals up 28-14 on the Falcons, Burrow with over 300 yards passing already and the Falcons defense is getting shredded, they are without their top corners but it’s still embarrassing for the Falcons, Burrow is on pace for almost 700 yards. 

Titans up 13-0 on the Colts, Matt Ryan looking like shit once again after a good game last week.

Jags up 11-10 on the Giants at half.

Packers having some trouble with the Commanders, up 14-10.

Surprising scores but I’m sure that the better teams will come back and win it in the fourth. The Panthers are doing very well right now since they have nothing to lose- same with the Jags. Stupid Lions could have taken the lead as well except they fumbled at the goal line.

I had to double check to see how they would survive (and still play & win a game in February) without Todd Bowles.  I don't think they can kick him out with a game against Baltimore, who Tampa might be looking ahead to.  However, if, somehow, Bruce regains the HC spot, they could turn to Larry Foote as the new DC outright.  I don't know if they'd put Leftwich in that role.

Who knows?  I just can't see a team headed by Todd Bowles winning the Super Bowl

The Bucs aren’t a good team this year so I always wondered why they were considered SB contenders. I never thought they were that amazing last year as well. Tom Brady bias. I like Todd Bowles so hate rooting against him, but Brady deserves this shit show.

Bengals beat the Falcons 35-17, Burrow with 481 yards passing, he absolutely carved up the Falcons depleted secondary, and the Bengals offense finally came to life today. The Falcons still managed to put some points on the board but they’ve got to be able to pass more effectively, Pitts and London were barely used today.

Panthers beat the Bucs 21-3, embarrassing loss for Brady and the Bucs, losing to PJ Walker and the lousy Panthers, the Bucs are just not playing well and Brady has just not been effective for most of this season, I guarantee he regrets not staying retired given the shitshow that the Bucs season has turned into.

Cowboys beat the Lions 24-6, nice return for Dak and the Cowboys defense played a dominant game.

Ravens beat the Browns 23-20 in a pretty good game.

Talk about embarrassment but it could be worse.  Tom Brady could be Aaron Rodgers; at least the former has done well over the years.  Green Bay did just score so they do have a chance to escape, but A-Rod needs to win 6 more superbowls before the end of time to achieve a tie with the GOAT for most as a QB.

Titans beat the Colts 19-10 and are in the driver’s seat in the AFC South, Ryan returned to looking like shit today.

Commanders beat the Packers 23-21, another bad loss for the Packers, they’ve been underwhelming on defense and have no rhythm on offense, Rodgers is playing the worst he’s played in ages. The Packers just seem completely lost.

Giants beat the Jags in a thriller, 23-17. No one saw it coming that the Giants would be 6-1, and the NFC East is the best division in football. The Giants defense has been a big surprise, and their O-Line is now good and their rushing game is potent and Daniel Jones is doing a solid job and suddenly the Giants are a good team.

On to the late games now.

Why do you hate Chris Meyers?

During the Steelers games he called, he was (or sounded like he was) rooting for their opponents.  Didn't do a great job being neutral while calling football games.

It's mild hate.  If he's not a fan, that is totally his right.  Outside of that, I actually admire & respect the guy.  Though not as much as Chris Fowler

For the record, there's no almost in sports, much less (NFL) football.  It doesn't matter if you win 17-13 or 222-0.  31-30 or 73-0.  Winning is winning.  Moreso in the pros.  In college, depending on the team, it might.  In the NFL it's probably never going to come down to that tiebreaker (and if it does, that's still the victim's fault).  You have 17 games to make a difference

IIRC, he was drafted second overall, not first.  So he missed out on everything.  Although despite Peyton's awesome career, he missed out on both the Heisman and a National Championship.  At least he didn't get snubbed in (appearing in) commercials.

I know that but the Titans have swept the Colts in their season series which gives them a big advantage, and Matt Ryan has been disappointing aside from last week’s game. I don’t see the Jags or Texans doing anything, so it’s between the Titans/Colts and the Titans are in the driver’s seat IMO.

It's not a big advantage unless they end up tied.....which is unlikely to happen because the colts tied a game and that rarely happens in the nfl. 

Unless the titans tie a game somewhere along the line the tiebreakers won't matter

I think if one of Indianapolis' final 10 games ends in a tie, then it's possible (but not probable) that they'd still finish in a tie with Tennessee.  It goes by percentage so it's doubtful unless both the Titans & Colts finish at .500

Chiefs up 14-13 on the Niners, excellent game so far between 2 strong teams.

Broncos are up 9-7 on the Jets, Raiders and Texans tied at 10, and the Seahawks are up 17-7 on the Chargers. All somewhat surprising results. The Chargers are so wildly erratic, they are a team I’m never sure what to expect out of, but they should be playing better than they are. The Raiders have been a big disappointment this season. Jets/Broncos is interesting, Jets have been surprisingly good and the Broncos are without Wilson but they are leading now.

Penalty question: in the KC vs San Fran game, SF was setting up for field goal and the entire KC line suddenly switched their stances from one leg to another. A SF player responded to this and was penalised for false start. Why weren't the KC players penalised instead? I thought it was illegal to move before the snap. Thanks!

Sure it COULD happen but ties rarely happen in the nfl. It's like 1 or 2 games a season at best. 0.5 to 1% of games. The likelihood tenn or indy ties another game this season and they end up tied for the division lead is quite low.

How would you do that?  They already cut overtime from fifteen minutes to ten.  Have a shootout like in hockey?  But even then, the losing team gets one point for the tie.

Illegal for the offense.  Defense can do the polka before the snap and it’s legal.

I actually admire the NHL rules.  A low-scoring sport, you give out consolation to those that don't lose in regulation.  Shouldn't have to suffer the punishment for a loss over a team that couldn't beat you in 60 minutes.

I think after 10 minutes, you go to the college 3rd OT and beyond rules.  One play, one shot.  Alternate between teams until there's a winner.  However, the final score wouldn't be marked down at 77-75.  Just the winner gets 6 extra points.  Or a FG game where you alternate between FG.  The winner gets 3 points to prevent the total score ballooning.

Of course, in OT, regular rules apply (though I'm not a fan of the new rules, which is a bit hypocritical)

They just showed a graphic of the best coaching records since 2010.  The only coach on the list with a tie on his record is Pete Carroll.  Nobody else has a tie.

I assume this all has to do with people who care about the point spread, which would not include me.  Although 77 - 75 sounds like a basketball score.

Changing the subject, in a quirk of statistics, Brian Daboll now has the highest career winning percentage of any active NFL head coach, at .857.  That slacker Bill Belichick only has a .667 career percentage.

Yeah that play changed the momentum of the game, the Niners would’ve led at halftime if they hadn’t turned it over, it kind of killed their momentum. And then right when they were getting back in it their defense shits the bed, they had a 3rd and long and Mahomes found Valdes-Scantling for a 50 yard gain, leading to the Chiefs TD.

Raiders come back and dominate the Texans in the second half and win.
