Interview with Brandon Routh during Comic Con

Interview with Wentworth Miller

Important Note: In these interviews I get the feeling that Captain Cold, heatwave and Canary will be towards the anti hero side of the spectrum in contrast to Firestorm, Hawkgirl and Atom on the hero side.

I kind of got that impression when WM, CL and DP were sitting together and CR, VG and BR were sitting together at the LoT panel. It would be fun to see Capt. Cold, Heatwave and Sara hanging out together. I think they'd probably all get along since they are dark ones.

I don't mind, Sara's always been a darker hero than even most of Arrow cast, so it makes sense that LP won't make her any sunnier and that her methods of problem resolution would be more in vein of Cold/Heatwave than Ray (and presumably Hawkgirl).

Yeah, I think Capt. Cold, Canary and Heatwave will be like "Why don't we just kill 'em?" to solve any threats. Dead = No more threat.

From CL saying that Sara's going to be more reckless and not care about the risks, she'll probably just run into things ready to fight to the death. I can also see Heatwave loving her, since he's a little crazy too. Capt. Cold will probably agree with Sara's methods. Then Stein and Ray will get all frustrated trying to wrangle in the crazies.

That is adorable. Ugh, I don't want to ship Sara with anyone but Nyssa, but...

You know, I was about to say the show wouldn't put those two together, since it would be a bit "incestuous" (Sara slept with Oliver who slept with Felicity who slept with Ray), but then I remembered what producers we're dealing with here.

Legends of Tomorrow cast, producers reveal news on main villain and team chemistry

Guggenheim also said that each arc on the show "feels like its own movie" and would not be opposed to a different team of heroes being introduced in future seasons as new characters emerge.

Please incest is NOT an issue that trips these people up, but I like that Caity and Brandon are friendly in real life.

Besides this show has a lot of room to explore several ships since they are playing with timelines - they get to do the "what if" for a one-off episode and then discard it.  It gives them room to play up ships without sinking any and I think that will make it more fun in the long run.

I'm just going to add that Victor Garber is amazing. "I'm a Meta-Human, I don't know if you are aware of that. I don't know what that means"

My dream casting would be if they could get Lena Olin for an episode. Maybe when they are in some time in the past. I just want to see SpyDaddy and SpyMommy in a scene together again.

Can I just say that I love how they are appearing all over the place like this show is already on the air lol.  I have to admit, it's the show I'm most excited about for 2016.  I am tentatively anticipating season six of GoT, but I'm also a little afraid of that one.  Here, I just cant wait!  I will probably buy the DVD for this one too and I don't do that very often.

From Marc Guggenheim...

bertmacklin-spartoi asked:
When might the extended Legends of Tomorrow trailer that played at SDCC be made available online? Is there a reason they're holding it back when everything else DC from this weekend is now available? Do I have to bribe somebody? If so, who do I have to bribe? Tell me and I will bribe them.

I had heard that it was the same trailer, which wouldn't surprise me since the cast hadn't returned for filming yet. Depending on who you read, though, bad reportage abounds, so the questioner was likely confused.

‘DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow’ Showrunner Compares Series To ‘Ocean’s 11′
By Agustin Guerrero  07.21.2015
http://screenrant.com/dc-legends-tomorrow-arrow-flash-comparisons/

Showrunner Phil Klemmer recently spoke with Screen Rant about the upcoming series and teased how these characters will be interacting, considering their wildly different origins and backgrounds:

“[The] Arrow is the dark sort of vigilante. And Flash has a sort of lightness and sort of family qualities. Ours will definitely be a little closer to that. It’s more like a caper, because it’s sort of like ‘Ocean’s 11′, where you have a team of misfits, a dirty dozen, and they’ve been sent on essentially a suicide mission. So it will have a lot of interpersonal tension and it will have a lot more… it’s like a fun.. it is almost like a family dynamic between people who can’t get along but are forced to get along because they’re stuck in this stupid time travel spaceship and having to save the world. But if it weren’t for that they would absolutely kill each other. At a certain point, we will have darkness emerge and characters will betray one another and be tempted by the dark side. And others might not make it along for the full trip. And others might be lost in weird time periods.”
*  *  *
Klemmer also dropped a few hints about the show’s future and explained that the series doesn’t follow the traditional format of its predecessors.

“It’s an anthology show. This is not designed to go forever. This season is meant to be standalone… I mean not as anthological as ‘True Detective.’ But not everybody will be continuing on this journey. The sort of central premise of time travel and Vandal Savage is totally up for grabs. This is meant to be a season that is tightly serialized that, when it’s over, you can’t go home again. It’s not going to begin Season 2 with us all hopping back on the same ship and like ‘Let’s get Vandal! Let’s get him for real this time!’ This is not traditional episodic television."

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim chimed in to further explain the structure and compare it to FX’s American Horror Story:

The way we think of it is each arc, each season is its own separate movie. What we want to do is have each separate movie have its own identity. So almost to the point where each season was telling one big story that you could sort of subtitle, like the way you do subtitle ‘American Horror Story,’ if that makes sense”

If they mean they are not going to have a recurring villain like Malcolm, I'm all for that. Malcolm should've been killed or imprisoned by now. Not running around like he's everyone's BFF. I'm all for a new villain each season.

I also wonder if Caity knows if her character survives or not. Although with her character dying for the 100th time is probably not something they'd want to do again.

The being stuck in different time periods sounds like fun. I hope they get stuck in Ancient Rome and Rip has to dress up like a Centurion. I could see Sara fitting in well in the 1940's or 1920's, while also hating the way women were treated back then. I would love to see Capt. Cold and Heatwave in the Wild West and Ray would probably love to be stuck in the future.

They can do so much with this show, I hope they have a good story down. I don't want them to screw this up. It can be like Doctor Who with Super Heroes.

Canary is so safe. They are not gonna want to deal with that backlash again. But I'm pretty sure Heatwave is going to doe. Probably that Jay Jackson character unless he ends up being someone importal like Cyborg or Static.

I'm like 85% sure Jay Jackson is gonna end up being a relative of the West's. either by either the Wally West or Bart Allen (or whatever other name they'll chose to give him because DC will be assholes enough to not let them use the actual name cause they want to use it for MU

Never heard of him, but looks wise he can pass for Vandal Savage.

Yeah, a much better fit than a forty year old Australian rugby player trying to portray an immortal Arabic mastermind.

As for Legends of Tomorrow, which begins filming in a few weeks, Pedowitz said the exact episode number still has to be determined.

4. Arrow and The Flash will play host to Legends storylines as the spinoff waits for its midseason launch.

To prep for the characters in Legends to get to their starting point for the show, Arrow and The Flash will showcase a few of the prequel journeys.

"Both Arrow and Flash are helping to set those things up, in both big ways and small ways, which is lovely," Kreisberg said. "The mystery of what happened with Palmer (Brandon Routh) is playing out on Arrow. Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) will also be playing out in the first seven episodes. The Flash, we obviously have Firestorm and Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). And Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee) lives in Central City in the Flash finale. Getting to know her. There's going to be a lot happening leading up to the crossover, which is serving as a [quasi] pilot for Legends."
