Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Wait, is this boutique a real thing and not some prank a snarker put together as a joke?!

I am pretty sure this is legit.

The stuff really is listed on Etsy. However, Etsy's terms of service don't allow sellers to list commercially available, non-vintage clothing items that were not made by the seller. IOW, grandmother's wedding dress from 1975 would be okay but your butt-stretched Temu cocktail dress from last year would not. Or even your never-worn Temu cocktail dress from last year. Just saying.

Someone should report her.

I’m not finding where there is a report option?

I can’t find it, either. Maybe that option is only available on the app? I’m using a web browser.

It is rather small. Look by the bottom right hand corner (your right hand) of the picture.

Didn't someone search that silver dress on Temu or a similar site and find out it cost well under 100 bucks new? Like 60-70?   And Jill wants $55 for it.  Bad enough that she is selling a cheap Chinese piece o'cr** dress on Etsy, but it seems she isn't letting the buyer know it is used and she is hoping to get almost all her money back. The fact she brags there is 'only 1 left' indicates she wants potential buyers to think it is a brand new dress.

Also, how can Jill refer to the dresses the girls are wearing as modest when they are wearing ugly mismatched tee shirts under them?  I presume she's not adding the fugly shirts in for free.  Jill, if you don't think a dress is modest unless you modify it in the worst possible way, then it is not modest to you in the first place.

$55 plus $5 shipping. No returns! 😆

Does Etsy allow comments on the site?  If so, someone should post a photo of Jill wearing the dress at an event and warn potential buyers it is used and not new.

Nor is it vintage. You can report but I'm not sure if you can send a picture.

I do hope she had the silver monstrosity cleaned.  I can only imagine how that thing must stink if she didn’t.  I recognize the brand on the tag - they sell formal dresses and pantsuit geared toward mother of the bride/groom.  I did buy one of their pant suits a couple of years ago for an event I had to go to.  I’m sure the girls won’t see a penny from any of their clothes that sell - Jillpm probably has to go buy more cheap decor for the barndo!

If she's only got one of each dress, she needs to stop with the "low in stock, only one left!" nonsense.  I guess it's technically the truth since there is only one of each which would mean it's "low in stock," but it makes it sound like she's got a stockpile of these things.  Hopefully she gets enough reports that Etsy boots her off the site for good and she has to take Renee's earrings with her.

It’s a size 12P.  PETITE, Jill thinks she’s petite.

But the outfits are NOT all “modest” because she’s not including the “blouses” and other dumb undergarments. Look at Tessie’s strapless dress without the “blouse” and the long skirt underneath 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

though, petite can mean height, not just weight.

Yes, but Jill is 5’7”.

Jill said she was going to sell modest clothing, that strapless dress is not modest if that is all you get.

True, she is pretty tall. Taller then me and I can wear some petites but usually don't.

By Jill's definition, she could model a bikini and call it "modest" if she wears a long-sleeved hoodie blouse and pants underneath.

But my question is, if she's soooo worried about modesty, why buy low-cut and/or strapless dresses in the first place?  Won't the cashiers at Dress Barn be scandalized by such purchases?  How will they know how holy she is?

(no shade to Dress Barn, my favorite pair of jeans in the entire world came from there).

Sure there is only one left! She only bought one! I bet it smells of hair spray, cheap perfume and sweat.

All those dresses look bad. Some might be okay without the modesty shirts. And why not in a color that goes with the dress like with Hannah's?

And she made out with David. So his and her spit dribbled on the dress included. Free of charge...

I think the "only 1 left" is an etsy thing and not a jill thing.  i haven't sold on etsy on a hot minute (once sellers loaded up on aliexpress and temu, i peaced out) but I don't recall having the option to add that manually.  i see it on shops where the sellers are very passive, can't imagine they'd care enough to add that themselves.

it's possibly an etsy default line that pops up when inventory gets under a certain number - even if the initial quantity is only one.

i'm happy to be wrong if other experienced etsy sellers can chime in!

The name of her boutique is cracking me up. Too bad it wasn't pure virginal Rodriguez sisters boutique. Or Rodriguez sisters overpriced crap.

Seriously how is she ok with selling crap for $55. I assume some poor souls who know them and see how malnourished they are will buy the dresses. Sadly the $ is going toward Jill buying more stuff including a dog. They have to be living off credit cards and public assistance. How is Jill living large while being unemployed?

Thanks for including the size of Jill's dress. The dress was too small on Jill so she is size 14/16.

Jill's height is not petite. She is average height.

Besides height, petite sizes are also proportioned differently.   The waist is higher in a petite size.  I am short (5'2"), but even in tee shirts and blouses I have to have a petite size because I am extremely high-waisted.  That may be the reason that gray dress is so tight and clingy on Jill.

Exactly - she’s not selling “modest” clothing after all 😆

I'm guessing most of these dresses are not currently available from stores. They likely were fails from retail stores long ago.

The “Shein” tags are actually visible in a couple of the pictures 😂🤡

Sellers are allowed to sell items directly from Temu? I thought their TOS prohibited that.
