Interesting thought about amnesia.  Maybe time moves differently in the AU, so that by the time Dean and Sam figure out a way to get there (one or both of them) much more time has passed than in their world, so that Cass has had to develop into a buff badass warrior angel.

I'm actually cool with Mary and wouldn't mind her being around quite a bit--Lucifer, not so much--but I'm holding out hope that they'll wrap up the AU stuff early and move on. It just doesn't feel like our show.

So Spawnifer probably opens a portal pretty soon. 

We could be seeing snippers from the AU world just with Mary and Lucifer, of course, but the set dressing is probably too expensive to do longterm. Unless only this tiny area looks apocalyptic and the rest is normal world-ly. Or they film everything in this one area which would equally look cheap. 

At this point, I think Mary and Lucifer are equally annoying characters. And I have no interest to see Mary back with the brothers on hunts so the writers can pimp her supposed super-hunter ass some more. She got off way too easy last Season for me, last thing I need is more propping.

The Scooby Doo episode is ep16 so I think the AU stuff will probably be around most of the season.  I figure it give the writers an out (for lack of a better word) on actually coming up with a storyline.  I figure they'll bounce around AU's every few episodes and have a standard MOTW in between.  Jack will be good/bad and everything in between depending on what the writers might need him for.

Basically, I think each writer will just write whatever they want and the AU's make it so they don't have to worry about canon, or past history.

Samantha's tweet doesn't specifically say she's filming Supernatural, but yeah.... I have little doubt that it will be the Lucifer show this season, and of course Mary is the baddest badass that ever badassed, she'll probably end up taming and/or ganking him, before saving herself from the AU and running off with the Wayward-pick-a-nouns.

The season either starts immediately after the finale (within seconds to hours but not any longer) or with a time jump.  Immediately after seems most likely as Cas is lying there dead on the ground and Jack has just been discovered.  Otherwise we'd have a heck of a lot of 'flashback's', which would (IMO) be pretty annoying.  Instead, I think they'll follow the standard pattern of setting up the "year" by the end of Episode 3.  One of the side benefits of Jensen directing WOULD have been getting a sense of the conclusion of S12 finale.  Now, because they are only filming EP 13.1, I think any spoilers we get that are not deliberate releases by TPTB, will be mid-resolution.

And if it's starting out mid-resolution of the S12 finale, why WOULDN'T it have Mary and Lucifer?  

Bottom Line: Sam filming was highly predictable.  It doesn't indicate anything more than the first episode is going to likely be immediately following the finale. This is par for the course.  When we get intel on how EP3 leaves the boys, then (IMO) we'll know the direction of the season.

I would think they would have to pick up where they left off to give us some emotional reaction to Cas' death.  If they don't, then what was the point of killing him?  The fact that the cat was out of the bag almost immediately after the episode ended is sort of irrelevant.  So either he'll be really dead and Misha will be some AU version of Cas, or Jack will help to bring our Cas back.  I assume that will all play out in the season opener, and then finding their way back into the AU to save Mary will take a few more episodes.

I agree, but I guess we'll need to wait to see whether he's changed somehow.  Maybe that change comes later in the season.

I'm going for Cass is changed immediately, but either he's depowered by the resurrection and they notice it right off, or he's "spiritually" changed by it and no one realizes it for a while.

If they go with an immediate change I don't want it that they don't notice, especially Dean. I hope they throw us a curve and Dean notices right away. In Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, Dean noticed over the phone Cas was off. I hope Dean pings something and has to convince Sam and Cas that something isn't right.

I don't think Cas is any more buff than before.  It's just buried under the trenchcoat. I recollect from s11  when he was Lucifer and he removed his trenchcoat and his suit coat (which should have been a clue to Dean that something was wrong with Cas, come on Dean!) he looked pretty buff in that white shirt. And when he opened his shirt with the message from Amara in 11.09 I think.  Or when he did the PCA bit with Jensen in 2016. It's not like he was ever particularly skinny nor overweigh, IMO.  

So I'm just assuming that Cas is going to come back and be perfectly fine but he's just getting a bit more toned for an on screen shirtless scene because ....reasons. LOL

Or the S13 Cas will be the AU Cas who is depowered (hence the buffness, because he has to actually do physical things).  Add to that the fact that AU!Bobby said that he kills all angels he comes across, we can assume if there is an AU Cas, he's not an angel (or not anymore).  At least he probably won't be in a trenchcoat.

I know the outcry that everybody wants "our" Cas back and not an alternative version, but it's a definite possibility, and one way to keep Misha in the show without having him be angel-ex-machina.  (I can see TPTB being completely confused by an angry backlash from fans and saying, "but we *kept* Misha!  I thought that's what you wanted!")

Misha definitely looks a lot buffer lately from my perspective! Perhaps it's just the outfits I've seen him in, but I'd have always considered him a lot leaner than J2. I'm not saying stick thin but definitely a lot more lean than them both. Lately, I'd say he's looking as buff / broad as Jensen. I definitely think he seems to be preparing for something be it a shirtless scene, or the world of auditions if his time on the show is running out.

Can I just say, they all have nice shapes but to me, they are VERY lean.  Even Jared.  There's just something 'slight' about all of their waists when you get a photo-op hug.  I was surprised.   They are tall (but I'm a tall woman who works with tall men everyday, so that didn't surprise me).  But their THINNESS did.  Jared, Jensen, and Misha all seem to be without any little extra cushion.  I'm sure they are still hella-strong, but when I compare their photos with real life ... 'the camera adds 10 lbs' must be true.  Because these guys were lean.

S2 Finale: Azazel Dead, Dean has a year to live, demons pour out of the Devil's Gate
S3 'S2 Finale wrap-up': This had the LEAST stretch out. EP 3.1, Dean is in denial, the demons are going to create stories all year.

S3 Finale: Dean goes to Hell
S4 'S3 Finale Wrap-up':  EP 4.2, Dean was raised to help stop the Apocalypse, Lillith is breaking the seals to set Lucifer Free, new character Cas fully introduced

S4 Finale: Lucifer is about to enter the room in a blaze of bright light, Cas is exploded chunky soup
S5 'S4 Finale Wrap-up': An argument can be made for EP 5.1 -- God saves the boys, Bobby's in a wheelchair, Cas is resurrected an on the lamb from Heaven, and Lucifer has a vessel.  It does, however, take to the end of EP 5.4 to get back into a steady-state hunting.

S5 Finale: Sam's in the hole, Dean's given up hunting, Cas is the new sheriff in Heaven, but Sam is somehow back....
S6 'S5 Finale Wrap-up': It takes to EP 6.2 for Dean and Sam to be both be hunting again.

S6 Finale: Godstiel
S7 'S6 Finale Wrap-up': It takes until EP 7.3 for them to escape the immediate fall-out of the soul-raid on Purgatory. We get most back in by 7.1 but Cas doesn't explode until 7.2 and the attack on the boys in 7.2 is not concluded until the start of 7.3 (#lookAMonsterBrokeMyLeg)

S7 Finale: Dean, Cas & Kevin vanish
S8 'S7 Finale Wrap-up': Sam and Dean reunite but they don't get into a steady state until the end of 8.2 when Kevin and Mrs Tran ditch the boys.

S8: Angels Fall, Sam is dying, Crowley is nearly cured
S9 'S8 Finale Wrap-up': The major players are not really sorted til the end of EP 9.3.  Gadreel's in Sam, Abaddon is the Big Bad, and Cas is a homeless waif

S9 Finale: Demon Dean & battery-dimming Cas
S10 'S9 Finale Wrap-up': EP 10.3, Dean is cured, Cas gets a recharge

S10 Finale: The Mark is gone but the Darkness has arrived, Cas is a mad-dog, and Crowley is in trouble
S11 'S10 Finale Wrap-up': 11.2 wraps up the immediate aftermath but Cas isn't cured until 11.3.

S11 Finale: God & Amara make up, Mary arrives, and Sam is in jeopardy
S12 'S22 Finale Wrap-up': It takes to 12.2 to get Sam home. 

S12 Finale: Mary/Lucifer are in the AU, Cas is dead, Crowley is dead
S13 "S12 Finale Wrap-Up":  ???? There's a LOT more breakage that many other seasons.  I expect it to take 3 episodes to get to 'steady state' and set the course for the year.

So tomorrow is the first day of filming--we know the J's will be in Vancouver right away and Samantha Smith by at least Friday.   Now we have to see if anyone notices Misha up in Vancouver and I guess Mark Pellegrino too.  Any sightings yet?

As soon as we get spoiler info we post it right away.

We already know they are filming at the Brittania Beach location based on the Tweet I posted above. Now whether that is J2m filming or something else is unknown, but I think it's more than likely they are doing the "and then what happened" with Cas, I'll be freaking pissed if they do a time jump. I just can't fathom them doing that.

I had a thought that what if Dean and Sam decided Cas can't be saved so they give him a hunter's funeral and something weird happens with Cas, like he literally rises from the ashes as a fully powered Cas, like a Phoenix. That would be pretty cool. 

That said, they did kill off Cas in s7 in the 2nd episode, so even if they somehow save him in the premiere, they could kill him in the 2nd episode.

I just don't know whether to hope for our Cas or not. Like I don't know which is worse, to hope and believe OUR Cas is not really most sincerely dead, or just think he is dead so if he comes back I'll be happily surprised.

Found something not sure what it means--Katherine Ramdeen tweeted that she will have Misha on her Twitch this Friday...supposedly she lives in Vancouver.  Don't know if Misha needs to be there in person in Vancouver to be in Katherine's Twitch.  Anyone know how Twitch works?  About real Cas--not worried about it at all by the 3 times Misha addressed it BUT I can see where some might not want to raise their hopes just in case...me I 100% expect real Cas.

Twitch is a video game streaming channel.  It's like YouTube for live streaming of game playing etc. Without being too off-topic,  this is GISHWHES season so much of what shows up on SM related to Misha is all about GISHWHES and not spoilers about the show per se. I'm thinking this might have something to do with GISHWHES or just Kat Ramdeen trying to get Misha involved in the gaming world.  I don't think it's actually about the show itself or would signal anything about Misha's filming schedule.

The only question I have about Twitch is if Misha needs to be in Vancouver with Kat to do that--I have no idea.  With Cas sure there is a change for Cas as Misha says...Cas has changed a lot at times thru the years but still is Cas in the end--I'm sure we won't lose his history or connections and personality in the long run.  Again I don't see any worries but if you or others have some...that's fine with me.  We will see after hellatus.

Misha lives in Bellingham, WA which is less than 2 hrs from Vancouver by car so even if he did this thing with Kat Ramdeen in Vancouver, doesn't mean anything as to whether he would be filming for SPN or not.

Bringing this here from the SM threat because I think the reflection in Jensen's glasses is from the Britannia Beach location.

 

Then adding onto that the above post wherein Baby is dirty, makes me wonder

1) Why is Baby dirty at all, she would have been under lock and key during the hiatus, right?

2) So she had to have been dirtied up on purpose, unless someone was slacking on their jobs. They wouldn't leave the 1 and 2 cars out to get dirty right?

3) Was Baby dirty in the finale?

4) Where was the car in proximity to the house? Was she near the spot of Cas' presumed death?

5) If so, are those Cas' angel wing ash all over her?

6) Will Dean put Cas in the car to try and take him somewhere to save him?

7) Is this the indicator of a stupid time jump, wherein Dean has been mourning Cas' death and not taking care of Baby?

 

Random thought, Cas is an angel. Cas killed a reaper who was acting as Death essentially. 

Could Cas become the new Death? Could that be the change in Cas? Maybe Dean never became Death after he killed him because he wasn't an angel and wouldn't qualify. That said, Cas killed Billie months ago so theoretically it should have happened then unless it took time and it didn't happen until Cas was killed by Lucifer?

ETA:  I don't understand why the show won't let the boys keep their hiatus beards. Honestly, at this point there is no reason to make them shave.  Everyone knows who they are. Let them at least sport the scruff more!

I think its more of a personal reason.  Jensen has said he uses the beard to separate himself from Dean during the off season.  It's possible its him that doesn't want it.

But... we haven't seen a pic of Jensen shaved yet, so its possible he may keep if for the first bit of filming.

I've heard them both say they are not allowed to change their hair, meaning Sam can't have short hair and Dean can't have long hair and neither are allowed much facial hair.  So whilst I agree that  Jensen likes to grow the beard during hiatus to separate himself from Dean, I also think they are disallowed from facial hair beyond a bit of scruff.

It would be a huge continuity fail if they're picking up from the finale, though. Which seems it might be the case.
