Anela February 5 Share February 5 I was reminded of that song yesterday. I first heard it, a month after losing my mother. This is from the new season of Fargo. 1 1 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 6 Share February 6 Well, with Chris Rea's Blue Guitars XI - 60s & 70s (2005), only a couple of main albums left to finish of his discography. Wow, in 2005, he really did release a 11 CD catalogue of various blues genre music. So far, the best one was Blue Guitars V - Texas Blues followed closely by the current one that I'm listening. 1 Link to comment

One4Sorrow2TooBad February 7 Share February 7 I'm new to them, had to do a search on Wiki to see what they've done. Looked like they mainly do their twist on covering songs by others. Not bad from what I've seen so far. 1 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 9 Share February 9 Penultimate album from Chris Rea "Road Songs for Lovers" (2017). While neither song is subjectively bad per se, but it really lacks in comparison to his previous albums (still, the dude has been at it since 1978!) 1 Link to comment

Rushmoras February 12 Share February 12 Well, I was going to listen to some rap artists on Spotify, but it looks like they don't have the licences for neither Eminem, nor Snoop Dogg, nor Drake, nor Kanye West. So, decided to start Guano Apes discog instead, since they have only a couple of albums. 1 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 13 Share February 13 Second Guano Apes album Don't Give Me Names (2000). Pretty good, better than the first. Has more production quality. 1 Link to comment
Anduin February 14 Share February 14 Valentines Day. A time of love, romance, and sex. In that spirit, I present possibly the sexiest song of the last twenty years. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 1 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 14 Share February 14 Guano Apes third album "Walking on a Thin Line" (2003). Also good. 1 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 15 Share February 15 Fourth Guano Apes album "The Lost Tapes" (2006). One half needed work, while the other half of the album was kinda good, but then again, this was album of unreleased demo songs. 1 Link to comment
magicdog February 15 Share February 15 Been a while! Much of the music I hear on the radio just bums me out! Then again, the top 40 hasn't been a thing for me in quite a while either! Much of the music I get into these days tends to be stuff someone turns me onto or via accident. I've been getting into J-Pop bands lately. Definitely didn't expect that since it's not even in English (some songs do have some English phrases in them however), but I've been enjoying the ride so far. The beats are strong and when translated, the messages are quite beautiful. A few times I've come across covers done in English which do their best to convey the message or theme of the originals. Thanks to an anime I've discovered called Dr. Stone, I've come to enjoy not only the show but the music used for its opening and closing credits! One of my faves is from the first season's opening credits, "Good Morning World" from The Burnout Syndromes. I cannot get enough of this song! It really gets you going! I have heard that some fans have been attracted to similar rocking tunes from other anime shows like My Hero Academia et al. YouTube can be a rabbit hole for stuff like this!! 1 1 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 16 Share February 16 (edited) Alright, Guano Apes penultimate album Offline (2014) was their best even though since Bel Air (2011) their sound has become poppy, and Offline is no exception, but it is more pleasant to the ears in this case. Technically, they have another album on Spotify from 2017, but since it is just remixes, I'm not keen on listening to it. As always, subjective assessments: 1. Proud Like A God (1997) - 5/10 2. Don't Give Me Names (2000) - 6.7/10 3. Walking on a Thin Line (2003) - 7.9/10 4. The Lost Tapes (2006) - 5/10 5. Bel Air (2011) - 7.9/10 6. Offline (2014) - 8/10 Average score: 6.7. Rushmoras February 20 Share February 20 And with Bent out of Shape (1983) completed the studio discography of Rainbow. Got to say that after Dio left the band, I did not much like neither the vocal nor artistic direction the band went (too much arena pop sound, if such a thing can be said about metal, metal sounding like pop, but in this case, it actually does). As always, subjective assessments: 1. Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (1975) - 5.6/10 2. Rising (1976) - 5/10 3. Long Live Rock N'Roll (1978) - 6.3/10 4. Down to Earth (1979) - 7/10 5. Difficult to Cure (1981) - 5.6/10 6. Straight Between the Eyes (1982) - 5.6/10 7. Bent out of Shape (1983) - 6/10 Average score: 5.8/10 1 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 23 Share February 23 Basically, after completing Raimbow, for a couple of days have been listening to local artists' new materials. I guess, the biggest discovery for me was 2Kvėpavimas (SecondBreath in English) [kinda rock/kinda rap kinda thing] and Evgemya Redko (alternative music, I guess...). Currently, I'm listening to some revival collab between an old band (Antis) and a performer from another band from 2023. Basically, old Antis songs made to sound modernish (lot of techno, dance beats etc.). IIRC, there was also a concert back in 2023. Link to comment
Rushmoras February 24 Share February 24 Well, started No Doubt discography. Gotta say, not a fan of Gwen Stefani's voice there, sound's like a sheep making baaa sounds (apologies for any No Doubt fans out there) most of the time. Though, the beat is nice. 2 Link to comment
Rushmoras February 25 Share February 25 (edited) Take me to your hear from Rick Astley definitely sounded better live over the music video. Edited February 25 by Rushmoras Link to comment

Rushmoras March 1 Share March 1 And with Push and Shove (2012) completed No Doubt Discography. As always, subjective assessments of each album: 1. No Doubt (1992) - 6.4/10 2. The Beacon Street Collection (1995) - 6/10 3. Tragic Kingdom (1995) - 5.7/10 4. Return of Saturn (2000) - 8.7/10 5. Rock Steady [Expanded Edition] (2001) - 6.7/10 6. Rushmoras March 1 Share March 1 (edited) On a side note, decided to listen to local artists again, and picked Kardiofonas (an old, old band) on Spotify. And... well... let's just say that there is a reason why most people in my country only know one single from them (and even that was covered by much better bands). The album... most of it is pretty... awful for lack of better words lol. EDIT: maybe I was too harsh, because the second part of the album from 12 to 18 track is significantly better, but the overall quality of music is... yeah... Here's their best single "Kalėdinė eglutė" (Xmas tree) Approximate lyrics for anyone interested: Speckled cuckoos Sway on Christmas Tree. Who knows what they are cuckooing about, Who knows what they will cuckoo-out. Spider travels on the branches, While beeswax drips from candles On the table With unopened letters. Hang, oh, hang On the Christmas Tree A magical necklace Of Archibald's images: How mice run on ice, How eyes sinisterly glow. And moon shines over the window While the crater smokes. A dusty passerby Watches me from the window gap. And through telephone I hear the sea. Then, I hear a woman laugh, But suddenly all sounds become mute, And from the radio antenna A bullet will slowly increase speed. Hang, oh, hang A garland of restless quiet, A choking calm of fighter-jets Locked-up under ground. Hang, oh, hang A garland of restless quiet, A choking calm of fighter-jets Locked-up under ground. JustHereForFood March 1 Share March 1 Love the song, but I don't think I've ever seen the video before, because I used to think that the guest singer is a woman. He has very nice voice. 4 Link to comment
JustHereForFood March 2 Share March 2 I am planning on going through the entire Vangelis discography now. I love his albums Antarctica, El Greco, Alexander soundtrack (terrible movie, but great music) and Opera sauvage (with my probably most favorite track Hymne). I also know Oceanic, 1492 and Blade Runner which I still find good, just not as amazing as the above (1492 is great, but slightly overrated IMO) and I have his compilation albums Themes and Reprise. But looking at his entire discography, it's still just a small part, so I wonder if I find some other great music. 1 Link to comment
