Why would they allow people to eat in the hot tub? That seems extremely unsanitary.

And letting someone with shingles sit in it? I looked it up and people can get infected from the fluid in shingles. Okay, maybe the hot tub sanitized the fluid a bit, but: Yuck.

I've been hate-watching this show for a while now, and yet I teared up at Charlie's cupcake toast and at Cap talking about loss. STOP IT SHOW.

According to Google, heat makes Shingles worse and I would imagine it hurts like hell. I like the way the medical staff can just take off their uniforms and jump in the hot tub. How does Avery know how to run lab tests? That would not be part of a nurses job. Does no one account for medical supplies and equipment so the staff can just do what they want? I really do like Don Johnson and Joshua Jackson but the writing for the show is awful.

Hey, Avery, did any part of your Nurse Practitioner education tell you about doctor-patient confidentiality?  Like, not walking in on the bridge and announcing that you brought meds for the Captain's shingles?

The hot tub incident actually occurred several years ago down in Lake Havasu City, if I recall.  Friends of mine were at the resort and they tried to save the woman but had no way of cutting her hair off.  She drowned.

I had a mild shingles a few years ago on my right arm and I don’t recall itching before the blisters appeared. There was initial pain in the right side of my neck about 2-3 weeks before the blisters that I thought was due to sleeping wrong. Then maybe a week before the blisters, my upper arm had some cramping and some pain

That was some interesting “flashbacks” to various characters’ youth. Some good casting for Don Johnson’s younger self as well as for the lady playing Avery

Yeah, even the most cursory google search (plus, like, common sense?) says no you don’t put your shingly self in a public hot tub!

I don't understand why this ship would host cheerleading squads when there is obviously no real place they could safely practice.

I also roll my eyes at how the medical staff has all this free time to hang out in the hot tub, and that Avery chose the hot tub to make her big non-pregnancy announcement.

Judging by the crew monopolizing all the time in the hot tub those few cheerleaders must have been the only passengers on board.

Avery scheduling her surgery for the next port call and the Odyssey taking was taking seemingly forever to get there

I'm so glad that the pregnancy storyline is over.  Now Avery doesn't have to choose.  I'm sure the show will continue this throuple storyline, sigh.

Whatever happened to the chef that Tristan was dating?  We haven't seen her in months.  Is she still onboard?

There were multiple cheerleading squads on the ship for "Cheer Week", but the show only focused on the red team.  Seems to me that tumbling and aerials on a moving ship that rocks in the ocean is a bad idea.  Then again, the professional dancers/actors on the entertainment staff do it.  I saw a show once that had aerial elements, pretty impressive.

Doing tumbling and flips on a wet pool deck and in a hot tub seems like a particularly bad idea.  I thought the accident was going to be that the guy who had his foot on the drain was going to slip, and the girl would hit her head on the side of the hot tub.

If anything, they should have been doing all of this on the stage of the main theater, which has more room.  But I guess then they wouldn't have the guys shirtless and the women in skimpy swimsuits.

The food in the floating tray in the hot tub... disgusting!  I think those floating trays are kind of cool... in a pool.  In a hot tub?  Where all the bubbling water (which on any cruise ship but the almost always empty Odyssey hot tubs would probably be at least 30% urine) can splash onto the food?  Yuck.  There's no way that food remains completely splash-free.

I thought it was interesting to see the "younger selves" version of the characters.  But the Asian genes of Young Avery were more pronounced than those of Today Avery.

Young Bobby Massey was played by Don Johnson's real life son.  He looks just like him!

I have a degree in Biology and I can emphatically say that Avery was using that automatic pipette incorrectly when testing the DNA, it did not have a pipette tip.

I have no degree in Biology and my experience with medicine is "frequent patient" and even I knew she wasn't doing it right. Bare minimum, you label it!
