  1. I'm wondering how much the lawsuit filed by well-paid tech bro bike guy, when he finds out that non-a-doctor Salen denied him standard care recommended by his surgical team, is going to cost the hospital. Less than if they'd left him permanently disfigured and disabled, but if comes out that only quick thinking by his team prevented that, it's not going to look good.
  2. There's definitely data on treating depression with psilocybin, and some patients who don't respond to other antidepressants do respond. However, NO ONE injects it. It's administered orally. I can't imagine where someone would think it's a good idea to inject home-extracted semi-purified psilocybin from mushrooms he'd cultured, rather than putting a drop of the extract in his mouth. Or, you know, just eating the mushroom.
  3. I was confused that 'which patient gets the donor liver' was even a plot point. Split liver transplants are a completely routine procedure; both the recipients should have been given half the healthy donor liver. Healthy livers regenerate; that's why living liver donation is an option.
  4. Where is this university's Committee on the Use of Human Subjects? There's no way this prison experiment would get get approval.
